"Are you sure you are meant to be outside walking?" The teenage Kara asked her mother as she joined all three teens walking Chewie a couple of days later.
"I'm fine."
"You don't look it." MJ said.
"What would Eliza say?" The teenage Alex asked.
"I'm fine." Alex said. Seeing all three teens shake their heads she pointed out. "Unless you have got MD's in the last few weeks none of you can really comment."
"Actually isn't Kara best placed to comment. I mean she was recovering from a leg injury for ages." MJ said.
"So she will be able to remind you how important it is to work your other muscles." Her mother countered.
"Pretty sure grandma would say different." MJ said as his mother's phone rang.
"Danvers … where? … Ok, we'll head back … you sure it is secure? … Red door got it .. Okay."
"What's wrong?" Her daughter asked as she she ended the call. The teen finding her heart beating faster.
"My team has seen something odd. They are going to check it out. While they do we are going to wait over there." Alex said leading them to a side alley where there was a red door. Heading to it she tried to open it only to find it locked. Guessing she had just walked straight into a trap she looked at the kids and ordered.
"Go. Get help."
When they didn't move she barked "Run."
"Bu-" Her daughter started.
"Now." Alex snapped.
Reluctantly all three teens ran, as they did so Kara kept squeezing her necklace.
Not wanting to fail her aunt and cousins again the teenage Alex unbeknownst to her cousins stopped and ran back.
When the remaining teens turned the next corner they almost flattened Diz.
"Whoa. Easy. What's wrong?"
"It's mom, she's in trouble. The guys who took her are back." Kara panted. "Where is your DEO guard?"
"I escaped." Diz confessed before asking. "Where is she?"
"Back there." MJ said before noticing his cousin was missing. "Where's Alex?"
"I'll get them, you find transport." Diz said running off.

As the adult Alex found herself surrounded she did her best to fight off her attackers, only her leg made it an impossible task and it wasn't long before she was hit so hard that she fell to the ground. As her leg smacked into the ground she screamed out in pain.
Trying to focus on defending herself Alex looked up only to see a crow bar bounce of some sort of shield. She then saw many of the masked group smashing baseball bats and firing guns at her. Regardless of the attack she was saved by the invisible shield. Turning she saw her niece hiding in the corner, eyes scrunched in concentration. What worried her though were the two men heading for the defenceless younger Alex.
Before she could try and warn her niece she saw everyone drop to the ground clutching their heads. Glancing back at her niece she also saw her crumpled on the ground, her hands over her ears, but she also saw Diz running towards her. Realising the forcefield was no long active, the adult Alex, biting back the pain, got to her feet and tried limping her way towards the teens.
Seeing her approach Diz stopped what he was doing only for Alex to order.
"Take Alex. Keep her safe."
Suddenly she felt someone taking her weight. Looking round she saw MJ hooking his arm round her.
Using her son as a crutch she followed Diz out of the alley to where a van was waiting.
"In there." MJ instructed.
Nodding Diz opened the door and climbed in with the unconscious teenage Alex. When the Alex climbed in she saw her daughter at the wheel.
"Kara?" She asked confused as MJ said.
"Go."
As the teenage Kara started to drive away, the motion jerky, she looked round and asked.
"Mom?"
"I'm fine." Alex lied. "Where did this van come from and when did you learn how to drive?"
"I found it." MJ said. "Technically we had to steal it. But it was from the guys who were attacking you."
"We'll discuss it later." Alex said trying to bite back the pain before instructing. "Check on Alex."
"She's breathing, just out of it." MJ said as Alex noticed a box the size of a computer in the back of the van. Recognising the design she looked at the two teenage boys and said.
"Turn that off."
"What is it?" MJ asked.
"It could be a jammer." Alex explained, shutting her eyes and her throbbed.

"Sorry." Diz said as the teenage Alex emerged from the DEO infirmary bathroom having thrown up again.
"It's fine." Alex said collapsing in a chair hoping the world would stop spinning.
"You need to work on directing it." MJ commented.
"It's not a gun." Diz said.
"But it could be." MJ argued.
"Alex?" The older Kara called rushing into the room.
"Mom." Alex said standing. But as she stood another wave of dizziness hit her and she ran for the bathroom again.
"Sorry." Diz said. "I used my power. I couldn't miss her."
"Are you three okay?" Kara asked looking round.
"We're fine." MJ said. "It was only mom, Diz and Alex who were in danger."
"Are you okay?" Kara asked Diz.
"I'm fine." He said as her daughter appeared again. As soon as she did Kara moved to her side and hugged her.
"Are you okay?" Kara asked.
"Will be when the world stops spinning." The teenager said before her mother released her and she collapsed in a chair again.
"Have you seen mom?" The teenage Kara asked.
"No. Not yet. Why?" Her aunt said.
"We've not seen her since we got here."
"Well, she's probably a little angry right now. I'll go find her." The adult Kara said before whispering something in an alien language to her daughter. She then looked at the others and said. "I'll be back in a minute." But before she left she stopped in front of her niece and asked. "You sure you are okay?"
When the teen nodded she left.

"Hey." Kara said entering a room where Alex was lying on a bed as Eliza and Lena stood to one side. "What's going on?"
"I'm fine. How's Alex?" Her sister asked.
"She's okay. Kinda dizzy though. How come you aren't dizzy?"
"I think her forcefield protected me." Alex explained.
"It did? What exactly happened?" Kara asked.
"I walked them straight into a trap." Alex confessed. "I'm sorry." She paused and then added. "As soon as I knew what was happening I told them to run. But I guess they ignored me as just before I was about to get hit by a crowbar I was protected by a forcefield. I looked round and Alex was in a corner. Then Diz appeared and everyone collapsed, including Alex. Diz grabbed her and MJ helped me to a van and Kara drove us here."
"Kara? When did she learn to drive?" Her sister asked confused.
"No idea." Alex confessed. "You sure Alex is okay?"
"She said she is. I'll go back to her in a moment. But before that what's going on? The kids are worried about you." She then looked at Lena and Eliza and added. "And you two look really stressed."
"She re-broke her leg." Lena said. "The nano technology can not keep up with the damage she is causing herself. She needs surgery. But we don't know who to use as no one here feels like they are qualified and Alex keeps vetoing all the doctors I suggest."
"What about the one who did Kara's second operation?" Kara suggested.
"He's on vacation. This needs to be done now." Lena said.
"I could ask Steve if he knows anyone."
"Not sure Steve moves in those circles." Alex said.
"What circles?" Kara asked.
"Prepared to come to the DEO to do an operation that isn't exactly approved." Lena said.
"What about overseas? I can bring someone here from anywhere. I could even get Kara's doctor back."
"I don't want some one hacked off at having his vacation ruined to be hacking away at my leg." Alex argued.
"We'll keep coming up with ideas." Lena said.
"Okay." Kara responded. "In the mean time your kids really want to see you." She said looking at her sister.

"Hi." Kara greeted when she re-entered the room the kids were in. Seeing her daughter asleep on the bed she lowered her voice and asked. "How is she?"
"She stopped hurling and then kinda passed out." MJ said.
"Do you guys want to see you mom?" Kara asked.
"Is she okay?" The teenage Kara asked worried.
"She will be." The adult Kara said leading them down the corridor as Diz waited in the room with Alex.
When the teens entered their mother's room and saw her leg constrained by a metal brace MJ asked.
"What's happened?"
"Your mom has been using her leg too much and stopped it from healing." Eliza said, her voice full of frustration.
"You mean you are doing all the things you told me not to do when I was recovering?" The teenage Kara asked her mother.
"Now's not the time." Her mother said, the pain fast becoming unbearable.
"She's a little cranky." The adult Kara pointed out.
"I can see that." The teenage Kara said.
"I'm not cranky. I'm in pain." Alex growled before looking at her daughter and asking. "You doing okay?"
"Sure." The teen said. But seeing her daughter's hands were trembling Alex held out her hand and waited for her daughter to take it. Once she had she said.
"It's over. We're okay." She paused and then asked. "When did you learn to drive?"
"Sam taught me."
"She did?" Alex questioned.
"It was kind of a birthday present." The teenage Kara explained before Eliza jumped in.
"Seeing she can't be trusted to be unsupervised and she needs another operation, your mom is going to be staying here for a while." Eliza said.
"What happens to us?" MJ asked.
"You can stay at home, but you are going to have many DEO guards and there will be no going anywhere alone. No matter the reason." Kara explained. "But right now it is late and we need to figure out why your necklace didn't work so tonight you guys will stay here."
