A/N: Thanks for the comments.
Guest - Thanks. The ending will give Kara a little respite, but it will be a tough few chapters for her from here.
"You gave Lobo a blank cheque?" The adult Alex asked when Kara walked into her lounge the next day.
"How did you hear about that?"
"Alex told Kara and MJ, who assumed that you told me. So mentioned it last night after you left."
"I will always do whatever it takes to protect Alex." Kara said.
"I know." Her sister said. "But you should have told me. Forewarned is forearmed."
"I would have done." Kara said. "But I was more worried about Alex. Speaking of, for now Lobo is tomorrow's problem. Right now I need help with Alex."
"What's happened?" Alex asked.
"She is terrified of going to sleep incase she projects her dreams. She forced herself not to sleep last night."
"Did she talk more about what happened?"
"No. She shut down every time I asked. But she did spend all night clinging to me. So I am pretty sure there is a lot she isn't telling me."
"She'll talk when she's ready. You take time to process things." Alex reminded her.
"I get that. But she can't live without sleep and if she tries it will only make her control worse, which will make her even more afraid."
"Did she go to school?"
"Yes. MJ and Kara said they'd look after her."
"But you are still worried." Alex said.
"Of course I am, ignoring the kidnapping she's not had any sleep. She is scared of everything. But when I said she could stay at home she refused."
"We could give her a psychic blocker, she could wear that at night." Alex said.
"Do you think that will work?"
"No reason why it shouldn't."
"Will it harm her?"
"There have never been reports of psychics being harmed using them." Alex said. "But we can run some tests if you want."
"No. After what she went through I want to keep her away from labs for a few days." Kara said.
"Okay." Her sister said before asking. "Has she said anything that might explain why Lobo was there?"
"Only that he wasn't expecting to see her."
"That's what worries me." Alex said. "Lobo wouldn't just turn up so why was he there? And did he do what he came to do?"
"While true, we need to focus on Tycho and Stagg. They were the ones who took Alex."
"I have an idea on that, although technically it is Max's idea." Alex said as her phone rang.
"Danvers ... When? …. Understood … keep me posted."
"Problem?" Kara asked.
"It looks like Lobo has attacked another facility. Like before everyone is dead." Alex explained.
"I'm going to the DEO." Kara said.

"What do we have?" Supergirl asked landing next to Vasquez.
"Hi." Vasquez greeted. "We don't know much at the moment, only that Lobo entered the facility and killed everyone. CCTV showed the killing. But there was little interacting with anyone there and he didn't search the computers."
"So either he knew who he was looking for and they weren't there or he is doing it for fun. Assuming it is the first one though, if he didn't search the computers he knows where he is going to hit next. Which gives him an advantage." Supergirl said.
"Especially as we had no idea that the facility existed until the cops called it in. It was not on any of our lists or the ones Lucy gave you." Vasquez said. "We set up surveillance on the cave, but so far nothing." She then asked. "How's Alex? I mean the younger one."
"Holding it together better than I am." Kara said.
"There may be one good thing from this." Vasquez said.
"What's that?"
"If Lobo is targeting Stagg's facilities it may make Stagg believe Tycho is setting him up. A little distrust can go a long way."
"I guess." Supergirl said. "I just hope the distrust doesn't cause innocent people to get hurt."

"Hey!" Kara said as her daughter returned home with her two cousins.
"Hey." The older teenagers greeted their aunt before looking at their cousin and saying. "See you later."
"Sure." The teen Alex said as the pair left the apartment.
"Hi." Kara repeated to her daughter.
"Hi." The teen said listlessly.
"You okay?" Kara asked hugging her.
"Just tired."
"That's not surprising. Why don't you have a nap before dinner?"
"I don't want to." The teen said, still scared of sleeping. Before Kara could comment further the apartment door opened.
"Hi Alex, how are you feeling?" Lena asked as she entered Kara's apartment and saw the teen.
"Okay."
"Very convincing." Lena said dryly before passing the teenager a box. "These may help."
Confused the teen opened the box and saw two small metal objects. Still none the wiser the teen looked from Lena to her mother.
"They are inhibitors." Lena said. "They will contain some of your powers. Namely your psychic ones. They will stop you projecting your thoughts."
"But you only wear them at night when you sleep and only until we figure out another way." Kara added.
"Thanks." The teen said hugging her mother and then hugging Lena.

"Hi guys." Kara said the next morning.
"Hi." the teenage Kara called back. "Where's Alex?" She asked noticing her cousin was missing.
"At the lab with Eliza and Lena. Where's your mom?"
"Upstairs. I'm taking her breakfast now. Unless you want to?" MJ said.
"I'm sure it will taste better coming from you." Kara smiled back at him. Rolling his eyes he grabbed the tray and trudged out.
"Something on your mind?" The older Kara asked her niece when MJ had taken his mother's breakfast upstairs.
"Yes." The teen said. "Alex was telling us what happened to her-"
"She was?" The older Kara asked surprised.
"Yes. And well what happened to Alex, well what they said they were going to do, you know with the Kryptonite. That's what they did to you isn't it?"
"Yes." Kara said.
"And they only got to do that because you tried to save mom?" The teen went on. Not giving her aunt time to answer she said. "When Ruby told us we could come back and mom was safe I never stopped to think about what you had been through. I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologising?" Her aunt asked confused.
"Because I didn't thank you. I didn't worry about you and I-"
"You don't have to do any of those." The older Kara said. "All that matters in that you know I will always protect my family." She smiled.
"But-"
"You you want to make it up to me, just be there for Alex … both of them." Kara said as the front door opened and Diz walked in.
"Is it safe?" He asked looking round.
"She's upstairs." The teenage Kara confirmed causing Diz to relax.
Smiling the older Kara said.
"Morning."
"Hi." He replied. "How's Alex?"
"She's doing okay thanks." Kara said. "By the way what am I meant to be calling you? I heard rumours Diz has been replaced by Alonso or Lonz."
"MJ?" He asked looking from one Kara to the other before looking at the younger Kara and asking. "Are you sure you like him?"
"He'll grow on you." The teenage Kara said.
"He's lucky I like you so much." He added making the older Kara feel like a third wheel.
"I'm going to see to your mom. I'll see you later." She said leaving the kitchen.

"Hi." The older Kara said entering her sister's bedroom, where the older Alex was lecturing MJ about homework. Seeing his aunt MJ took the chance and escaped.
"You okay?" Kara asked her frustrated looking sister.
"Fine." Alex said. "How's Alex?"
"The inhibitors worked and she slept through." Kara explained. "She's gone to the lab with Lena and Eliza."
"I thought you wanted to keep her away from labs." Alex said.
"I did. But she was insistent."
"Stubborn like you." Alex commented before asking. "How are you doing?"
"Vasquez said that maybe this could work in our favour as Stagg might believe Lobo was sent by Tycho."
"Makes sense." Alex agreed.
"Only, what if it were true? What if Tycho hired Lobo?"
"To what end?"
"I don't know."
"No matter who is working with who we will stop them." Alex promised her.
"I hope so." Kara said before rapidly changing subjects and asking. "What are you doing today?"
"Seeing I am effectively under house arrest, not much. Want to have a sisters' day?"
"Sure." Kara said as Alex's phone rang. Seeing the caller ID Alex answered.
"Hey Ruby … when? …. survivors? …. I'll tell her."
Knowing full well Kara had listened into Ruby's side of the conversation using her super hearing Alex said. "Before you rush off remember if Tycho knows you are likely to go to Lobo's scenes of destruction he may fake one. Also there could a whole heap of Kryptonite and I know your suit should protect you, but I don't want to take that risk."
"I'm still here aren't I?"
"I know. But being stuck here I feel helpless." Alex reminded her.
"You're not the only one." Kara assured her.
"What's wrong with you?" Alex asked frowning.
"I was wrong. I was so angry and scared at Tycho or Stagg targeting Alex, I belittled the threat from Lobo. But now over sixty people are dead because of him."
"Sixty people with no morals or ethics." Alex reminded her.
"Doesn't mean they deserve to die." Kara said. "Wait, aren't we missing something?"
"What?"
"The metas. Where are they. Everyone who was killed worked at the facility, so where are the metas?"
"Vasquez is trying to figure that out. We think they have several labs where they do more theoretical research and then the labs where they actually conduct the experiments. As Alex was taken to get your attention, it makes sense she didn't go to the the main labs."
"Maybe. But there can only be so many of these research labs. We need to figure out what Lobo is after before he goes to the main ones, because knowing him he will kill the metas."
"I know. But you can't worry about everything. And my team are there to support you, so make sure you use them and I'll be here trying to think outside the box and tie everything together. So you can be very careful."
"Yes boss." Kara said.
"I'm serious."
"I promise you I will be careful." Kara confirmed.
"Good." Alex said. "Then how about instead of a movie fest today, we brainstorm."
"Can we use a crime board?"
"I don't have one."
"I could get one."
"Look in that drawer." Alex said pointing. Confused Kara did as she was told and opened the drawer.
"There's a notepad, you can brainstorm on that."
"Do you at least have coloured pens?" Kara asked.
"I thought we were brainstorming not doing modern art." Alex said.
"Colours help organise things."
