"What are you doing?" Supergirl asked as she walked into her sister's office and saw her watching Tycho's interviews.
"Trying to figure out if he is real."
"And?"
"Still no idea. Regardless of if he is real he is too quiet at the moment. He, or those behind him, are up to something and I have no idea what." Alex said turning to face her sister.
"Wow, you look terrible. What happened?" Supergirl asked frowning.
"Kara was having nightmares last night."
"About what?"
"She wouldn't say."
"You think it is the attacks?"
"Maybe, but why won't she talk?"
"Want me to talk to her?" Kara offered.
"I'm not sure it will do much good. But if you have time I'd appreciate it."
"Of course. And there is no harm in trying. Also can I borrow MJ on Saturday?"
"Sure." Alex said.

"Hi Diz." The older Kara said entering the gym.
"Hi." He said turning.
"Is Kara here?"
"Yeah, over there." He said pointing to the corner where the teenage Kara was attacking a punch bag.
"How long has she been doing that?"
"Thirty minutes. I tried to stop her, but it didn't go down well."
"I'll talk to her." Kara said walking over to her niece.
"Hi Kara." The older Kara greeted her niece.
"Did mom send you?" She asked not stopping punching the bag.
"No, but she is worried about you."
"I know, that's why I'm here"
"To avoid talking?" The older Kara guessed.
"And to work out some stress."
"I can see that." The older Kara said as the teenage finally stopped punching the bag and breathlessly turned to face her aunt before asking.
"You sure she didn't send you to make me talk?"
"She knows there is no making you do anything." The older Kara said. "Why don't you get changed then we can grab a bite to eat?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"I mean you could try running, but I am pretty sure I am faster."
"I'll be back in a minute." The teenager said walking off.
"Is she okay?" Diz asked joining the older Kara a few minutes later as she waited for her niece.
"You think she isn't?"
"She's been distant ever since the leg thing. Does she still think I was freaked out by her scars?"
"No." Kara assured him.
"But something is bothering her right?"
"Looks that way, but I'll figure it out. But to do that I need to borrow her tonight."
"Sure." He agreed.
"Are you doing okay?" Kara asked him.
"I'm fine." He shrugged as the teenage Kara emerged.
"You ready?" The older Kara asked.
"Sure."
"I'll see you tomorrow." Diz said leaning forward as if to kiss her before remembering the older Kara was there and awkwardly pulling back.
"You know, I'm going to wait outside." The older Kara said leaving them alone.

When her niece finally joined her outside they started to walk home. When the teenager didn't speak the older Kara said.
"We need food. Let's grab a burger."
Not hearing an objection she led her niece into a fast food joint and placed the order, all the while the teen waited silently. Once she had collected the order Kara passed some food to her niece and they walked to bench and started eating. After they had eaten in silence the older Kara said.
"After I got to Earth, the first time. I used to wake up from nightmares, expect they weren't nightmares, not really. I mean I really did get put in that pod, I really did say goodbye to my parents and I really lost my world. And every night I relived it."
"How did you get over it?"
"I didn't, not really. I accepted it and the nightmares stopped, but every so often they'd come back, even now. When you lose someone you love, you never really get over it."
"The night my leg flared up I had a nightmare. It was so real. It was like I was back in the car. It didn't feel like a nightmare, it felt real. I had to watch her die all over again." The teenager said as a tear ran down her face. "I've had so many nightmares. But not like that." She added as her aunt pulled her in for a hug.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"Mom is really stressed. You know how she gets when she thinks about the accident, I didn't want to make her worse. Especially at the moment."
"Your mom is going to stress about you regardless of whether you tell her. She is scarily intuitive, she knows something is wrong."
"So I should tell her?"
"That's up to you, but if you tell her I am sure it will make you both feel better."
"Okay."
"Good, then why don't we go back to my place, I'll get your mom to meet us there, then you two can have some privacy."
"What about you?"
"Alex and I can stay at your place." Kara said. "I'll will send your mom a message."
"Wait. What if she is busy?"
"No matter how busy work gets for her, you and MJ are more important." The older Kara pointed out.
-00-
"Kara? I got your message, is everything okay?" The older Alex said walking into her sister's apartment. When she saw both Kara's sitting on the couch she asked. "What's going on?"
"You two need to talk." The older Kara said standing. "So I will give you some space. I'll stay over the road with Alex tonight, so you can talk for as long as you need." She added as she picked up a bag.
As she moved back past the couch she gave her niece's shoulder a reassuring squeeze before leaving.
"What happened?" Alex asked her daughter.
"Nothing. I'm fine." The teen said.
"You don't look it." Alex said moving to her daughter's side.
"I … Don't you need to work?"
"Work can wait. What's going on? Is this about last night?" Alex questioned.
"In a way." The teen said. Pausing again before going on. "I keep reliving it. I can't get rid of the image. I see her die. I feel my leg getting crushed. It is so real and I just want it to stop." The teen said tears running down her face. Not entirely sure where Kara was starting from Alex just pulled her daughter in for a hug.

"Is mom with you?" MJ asked.
"No, she's with Kara. They are going to have a mother daughter night, so you get me."
"So no homework."
"Um, I don't think so. Besides I need you to do as much as possible before Saturday." The adult Kara said.
"Why?"
"Because otherwise you can't spend the weekend with me. In particular helping me with work."
"Not selling it at the moment." MJ pointed out.
"That's a shame. I mean I have an assignment in an area I don't know much about and I was hoping you could help. But if you don't want to come with me to this." She said waving some tickets.
"You have tickets for the Games Expo?" MJ asked eyes wide as he saw the tickets.
"I do. And I had planned on taking you, but if you don't want to come-"
"You are the best aunt ever." MJ said hugging her.
"Thank you." Kara said. "We'll pretend you can't be bought." She added before looking at her daughter and adding. "You can both invite a friend if you want."
-00-
"Sorry for booting you out if your apartment." Alex said to her sister the next day.
"It's fine. Besides it's not like your place was far to go to. How's Kara?"
"I don't know. She had another nightmare last night." Alex said. "But she did at least talk about it, but I'm not sure that helped."
"Any idea what is triggering it?"
"No. But maybe it is stress related." Alex said. "Which is kind of my fault. Can you watch MJ again tonight? I'm going to take Kara out for dinner."
"Of course." Kara said.
"Thanks, anyway I should get to work."
"Want to meet for lunch?" Kara asked.
"Yes, but no. I'm going to have to work through."
"Okay, I'll see you later."

As Kara tried and failed to write an article on of the interns approached her desk and nervously fidgeted by the side.
"Hi?" Kara said looking up.
"Hi." The intern said.
"Can I help you with something?" Kara prompted when the intern said nothing else.
"Yes. Ms Grant said I shouldn't bother you, but you have visitors."
"She did? I do?"
"Yes, in the conference room. Two of them. One was in the other day."
"Okay. Thanks." Kara said standing and heading to the conference room.
"Hi." Kara greeted walking into the room. Recognising one of the women she asked. "It's Sparky isn't it?"
"You remember?" The woman said surprised.
"Of course. But do you prefer Sparky or Beth?"
"Beth is fine." She smiled. "I was in the meeting with you the other day."
"I remember."
"Well I used to use the centre. I mean not since I was taken, but before then."
"You don't anymore?"
"No. It's changed. Or maybe I've changed. But it doesn't feel safe anymore."
"It isn't." The other, goth like woman said.
"In what way?"
"The people they aren't kind. They can't be trusted. Some are evil."
"Evil?" Kara asked.
"Yes. Like the ones in the pictures."
"In what way?"
"In their core." The woman said.
"Perhaps you should explain." Beth said to the woman. In response looked at Kara and said.
"You are right." She then paused and said. "I detect waves."
"Waves?" Kara asked. "Like radio waves?"
"No. Like an aura. Everyone has them and I see them." The woman said. "You have good waves, pure waves."
"Thank you."
"But those people in the pictures didn't."
"They didn't?" Kara asked.
"No. So I stayed away. But now I have seen their waves I can see them again."
-00-
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked when Supergirl walked in.
"Well I met with a new meta who may be able to help."
"You have?" Alex asked.
"Yes, they used to go to the refuge, but stopped due to new characters getting involved in the centre. They think they have seen three of our six and they can identify them from their waves."
"Their what?" Vasquez asked.
"This meta sees waves emanating form people and can identify them from those waves."
"I'm sorry, they what?" Alex asked.
"What she said was everyone has a unique waves set that indicates their personality and intentions. She can read them."
"So we keep them away from Alex so not to scare them off?" Vasquez asked Kara.
"The point is they see waves and everyone has a unique set." Kara said.
"That's going to cause problems." Alex said.
"Why?"
"She met you as Kara, if she meets Supergirl she will know who you are."
"That's a good point, but not why I came here."
"Go on."
"She has met two, maybe three of our mystery group. Which means if she sees them again, even if they are in masks she will recognise them. And she said she will call the second she does see them."
"Well that's a start." Alex said.
"She also confirmed they were trying to recruit metas."
"For what?"
"She didn't know. But she did give me a list of everyone they talked to."
"I'll start running them through the system." Vasquez said taking the list.
"And it is worse than that." Kara went on.
"How?"
"Malaise, Shadow and Osmose were involved in the set up of new group sessions."
"So they are definitely after metas?" Alex asked.
"Looks that way and my guess is they use the group sessions to find the best recruits."
"Can't we use that?" Vasquez asked. "I mean can't we send J'onn to one of them?"
"Good plan." Alex said wondering why she hadn't come up with it. "But first see if there is a pattern to who they are recruiting." She added as her phone buzzed.
"Go." Vasquez said. "Kara needs you more than we do. I've got this."
"Thanks." Alex said.
"Don't worry, I'll look after MJ." The older Kara assured her sister.

"Hi guys." Kara called entering Alex's house. Not getting a response she went up to the den and saw four teens engrossed by killing each other in a computer game. Shaking her head she left them to it and went down stairs. Heading to the kitchen she opened the fridge only to hear the doorbell. Sighing she shut the fridge and went to the front of the house where she saw Diz waiting on the doorstep.
"Hi Diz."
"Hi, is Kar here?"
"No. She's with her mom. Did you have plans?"
"No. I was worried about her, so I wanted to check she was okay."
"She's working through some stuff." Kara said.
"By herself?"
"She's trying. But none of us will let her, will we?"
"How do I help?"
"Just be there for her. We both know she can be stubborn, but don't give up." She said as several shouts came from upstairs.
"Problem?" Diz asked.
"They're killing each other, in a game."
"I should go."
"Sure you don't want to stay for dinner. I was about to order pizza."
"No, I'm fine."
"Diz, before you go, there are reports that Metas are being recruited by some shady guys who were linked to Stagg. Be careful out there."
"Sure." He said walking off.
