A/N: Thank you for the reviews.

Jennifer Baratta - Kara Sr will be telling Alex that in this chapter.

"Any signs of Malaise or Caesar?" Supergirl asked the next day.

"No. Right now there is no sign of anyone. It is looking like those hangouts aren't used anymore." Alex said.

"Well it has been awhile since Kai took over." Kara said.

"Still, something feels off. Wait, shouldn't you be with Alex and Frax?"

"J'onn is chaperoning."

"I thought you were?"

"They are covering powers and J'onn is a better chaperone for that. I don't want to crowd them. But I am meeting them for dinner."

"So it has nothing to do with the fact that he looks enough like Fels that it freaks you out?" Alex asked.

"Maybe, a little." Kara confessed. "But also I didn't want to crowd them. But now I am freaking out so I need a distraction and seeing you aren't meant to be at work, maybe we could do something."

"I would love to, but I have a VTC with the President. You can join in if you want?"

"That sounds not so fun."

"Okay, well Kara is at home alone as MJ has practice. Can you check in on her?"

"Sure."

"Aren't you meant to be with Frax?" The teenage Kara asked when she saw her aunt.

"Meeting for dinner."

"Is mom with you?"

"No, she has a VTC, but then she is coming home. She'll be back for dinner."

"Really?" The teen asked clearly not believing it.

"Really."

"Is she doing okay?"

"She's okay." The older Kara said. "Where's Diz?"

"At the gym. Running a class for Grant." The teenager said as her aunt saw the college websites open on the computer.

"So, do you need taking to any open days?" Kara asked her niece.

"Open days?"

"For college?"

"They are virtual now." Her niece pointed out. "But can you read my essay?"

"Of course. Have you narrowed down where you are applying?" Kara asked causing the teen to pass her a scrap of paper. "These are all local. Like really local. I thought you wanted Yale or Princeton?" The older Kara asked.

"I changed my mind. Probably wouldn't get in anyway." The teen said handing her aunt a print out of the essay.

"Does this have something to do with what happened to your mom?" When the teen didn't answer the older Kara went on. "Your mom wants you to be happy. And she wants you to go to the college you want to go to, not the one you think you need to go to."

"But what if something happens?"

"I'm not going anywhere. Besides I can fly you back here in no time."

"You know if people keep seeing me use Supergirl as a taxi service they are going to ask questions?" The teen asked as they heard the front door open and close.

"Told you she would be back for dinner." Kara said hearing it was her sister, before handing her niece back the essay with corrections on. "I'll see you later."

As Kara entered J'onn's apartment where J'onn, Frax and Alex were, she immediately looked for her daughter, who when she saw her mother jumped up and hugged her.

"Hi." Kara said tightly returning the hug. "How did it go?"

"Good." The teen said finally pulling away from the hug.

"Yeah?" Kara asked looking over at Frax.

"She has made good progress." He smiled. "She is talented like her father."

"Dinner will be ready soon, but I need to pick up some ice cream first." J'onn said. "Alex, perhaps you can come with me?"

"Sure." The teen said, hugging her mother once more before following J'onn out.

"Alex's powers are strong and unique." Frax said to Kara when it was just them.

"Unique?" Kara asked.

"Although most of Dakran have powers no two people are the same. So it is not surprising. And Salkor's powers were incredibly strong."

"I didn't even know he had powers." Kara said sadly. "I didn't know much about him at all."

"For Alex to even exist, it is proof of how much he cared for you." Frax said. Before holding out a small cube. "I assumed you didn't want me to give this straight to Alex, I am sure you want to test it. But on it there are gfrh ju fral."

"What?" Kara asked causing him to shake his head and hold a finger up. After a moment he said.

"Sorry, there are still issues with our electronics, especially at sunrise and sunset. I was saying it is a memory cube, it contains images and stories about Salkor. Only a small selection, but it is a start."

"Thank you." Kara said taking the cube.

"Do I make you uncomfortable?" He asked.

"Sorry?" Kara asked.

"You seem, I don't know, distracted or, well uncomfortable."

"I'm sorry. It's just you remind me of Fels. I mean Salkor."

"You are probably the only person who sees the likeness." He said.

"Really?"

"My family's vision is clouded by disappointed in me." He said.

"Um-"

"Sorry, you did not need to hear that." He added. "But I should probably confess, my family see me as a failure."

"Well you saved Alex, so you are not a failure to me." Kara smiled.

"You tired?" Kara asked when she and her daughter returned home.

"A little."

"Do you want something else to eat?" Kara asked.

"No, I'm okay." The teen said sitting on the couch as Chewie ran over and jumped up on her.

"So how did it really go?"

"Good. I like Frax." Alex said looking up at her mother.

"I'm glad. And Frax gave me something when you were out with J'onn." Kara said holding out the device.

"A memory cube?" The teen asked.

"Yes." Kara confirmed. "It has things about your father on. Do you want to look at it together? Or do you want to look at it alone? Or do you want me to put it somewhere safe?"

"Can we view it together?" The teen asked.

"Sure." Kara said sitting down next to her daughter before placing the cube on the table and pressing a few buttons. As a hologram emerged she leaned back and wrapped an arm round her daughter.

"How did it go with Frax?" The older Alex asked the next morning as Supergirl entered her office.

"Okay I think. Alex seemed happy." Kara said. "And he gave me a memory cube to share with Alex."

"A what?" Alex asked.

"It contains images and memories. It's similar to what the half truth seeker investigator gave me, but with more than just an image."

"Want me to test it?"

"No. Thank you. Beside we have already used it. Did you talk to Kara last night?"

"Yeah."

"About college?"

"Should I have done?"

"Yes."

"Why? What's happened?" Alex asked looking up frowning.

"She is worried about you and that is influencing her decision about next year."

"Influencing how?"

"Her current shortlist of schools are all really local."

"She was talking about Yale-"

"That was before. I take it she didn't mention it last night?"

"No." Alex sighed.

"Ma'am we got a hit on Caesar."

"Where?"

"Defiance Tower."

"The luxury apartment complex?" Supergirl asked.

"Yes, he rents the top floor."

"Wow, crime really pays." Alex said.

"Lex didn't teach you that lesson?" Vasquez asked.

"Fair enough. So where did Caesar officially get his money from?" Alex asked.

"Trust fund."

"Trust fund?" Alex asked.

"He inherited money form a long lost uncle. Around the time Kai was being set up."

"And no one investigated?" Supergirl asked.

"No."

"Can you follow the money back?" Alex questioned.

"Already started, I'll let you know when we have something." Vasquez said leaving.

"I should go too. I'm meeting Lena for lunch, want to join us?" Supergirl offered.

"No. I have a meeting." Alex said.

"Okay, well I'll see you at five."

As Alex sat silently listening to the other Agency Heads drone one about budgets her phone rang. Seeing it was Lena she silenced the call and kept listening to the meeting. Moments later the phone buzzed with a one word message.

"ANSWER."

Seconds later Alex's phone rang again. Checking she was muted for their VTC she picked up her phone and asked.

"What's happened?"

"She was taken. I mean Kara, she was taken."

"What do you mean taken?"

"Just that. Someone appeared in front of her then they both disappeared." Lena said. "And I am pretty sure that whoever took her used Kryptonite."

"Vasquez." Alex bellowed.

"Yes."

"Get all the security footage you can from around the main entrance of CatCo for the last hour."

"What are we looking for?"

"Whoever kidnapped Kara."

"Ma'am your sister has just been kidnapped." Harris said entering the room.

"I know. How do you know?"

"It's on the newsfeeds."

"Damn it." Alex said standing before looking at Vasquez. "I have to go talk to Alex. And after that Frax. Let me know if you find something." She added as her phone buzzed. Seeing all the messages coming in from her kids she said. "I don't care what it is call me if you find anything." She then glanced at the screen showing various different Agency heads looking at her.

"And some one deal with them." She said pointing to the screen before walking out.
