As the helicopters landed and the squads jumped out Alex asked.

"Any sign we were detected?"

"No ma'am the stealth materials seem to have worked." Gibbons said as other squad members got to work.

"We don't know how long we have until we are seen so we need to be quick but careful." Alex said before seeing J'onn was frowning.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked.

"I don't have powers." J'onn said.

"There must be dampeners set up round here." Alex said before looking at one of her squads. "Find the dampeners and shut them off."

"If they have thought of that chances are this place is well defended with lots of traps." J'onn said.

"Good thing we brought our automated friends." Alex said signalling her second squad who opened a box moments before several small autonomous robots emerged, some rolling, some flying. "Let me know the second they find anything."

"Ma'am, a patrol is a click that way." Walden reported.

"How many?"

"Two."

"Take them out very quietly. See if they have any access cards on them. If there is a radio grab it."

"Yes ma'am." Walden said disappearing.

"How are you feeling?" J'onn asked, concerned Alex's emotions were still unstable.

"Scared. If what Alex saw was real Kara is already dead."

"They need Kara alive." J'onn reminded her as video feeds from the autonomous robots started to come through.

After what felt like an excruciating long time of gathering intel and finding the building where Kara was likely being held, all of Alex's squads reported they were ready to storm the building they were surrounding.

"Where are we with the dampeners?" Alex asked

"Still can't find them." Foden reported.

"Okay." Alex said after a minute. "Foden keep your squad searching for the dampeners." She then looked at J'onn. "You stay out here and coordinate things from the outside." When J'onn nodded Alex tapped her radio and said. "Breach now."

Within two minutes of entering the building alarms were blaring, knowing there was a risk they would move Kara Alex hit her radio and said. "Move to plan B."

Having heard the order each squad split into smaller groups and kept searching, each squad looking for something different. Alex was deciding which corridor to take when she saw armed guards running away from them. Assuming they were tasked with moving Kara she said. "That way." And took off after them. However, as she entered the corridor a door slammed shut behind her separating her from the rest of her team. Realising she had walked into a trap she debated waiting for her team to come through or finding her sister. But deciding Kara was more important she ran down the corridor, away from her team. But as she did so she marked the walls so her team could find her.

After a few minutes chasing the guards she heard their footsteps stop and she too came to a stop wondering what was happening. Knowing she didn't have time she grabbed a grenade and threw it round the corner. Three seconds later there was a large flash and bang and she continued her pursuit, ensuring the guards were dead as she went past.

Finally she saw two armed guards standing by a door. Hoping they were guarding her sister Alex shot both of them before approaching the door, all the while looking for surprise attackers. When she got to the door she peered through the window and saw her sister lying on the ground.

"Kara?" Alex called before searching the dead guard for a key. Finally finding one she unlocked the door and approached her sister who turned to face her.

"Alex?" Kara asked looking up.

"Alex is safe." Her sister said. "Time for you to get out of here."

"No."

"I've got you." Alex said helping Kara to her feet. Feeling her anger grow when she aw how many bruises Kara was covered in.

"Go. Trap." Kara gasped out, clutching her ribs.

"Not happening." Alex said pulling out a solar grenade.

"Behi-" Kara started to say only for Alex feel pain in her back causing her to drop the still pinned grenade. The next thing Alex knew she was being pinned to the ground.

Seeing her sister losing the fight Kara gathered what strength she had left and launch herself at Alex's attacker. Her weight enough to push him to one side and give Alex time to recover. However, with her strength used she was unable to stop the attacker throwing her off and giving her another kick in the ribs.

No longer pinned against the floor Alex pulled her gun from a holster and shot the man who fell to the ground. Shaking off the pain in her back Alex stumbled to Kara to make sure she was okay.

"You were shot." Kara croaked causing Alex to reach behind her vest to make sure the bullet hadn't gone through. Happy she wasn't bleeding she looked back to Kara who was lying on the ground.

"I'm getting you out of here." Alex said.

"Alex?"

"She's safe." Alex repeated before picking up the solar grenade and pulling out the pin. Moments later they were bathed in bright light and Kara's cuts and bruises started to fade.

"Let's go." Alex said pulling Kara to her feet.

"No. Kryptonite. Not safe."

"Kara, I'm getting you out of here." Alex said. "Come on."

"But-"

"No buts, let's move." Alex said.

"We found and deactivated the portal. The only way out is by conventional means." The DEO Agent reported to J'onn.

"Unless they have another meta like Warp." He pointed out. "Any news on Kara?"

"The Director has her, but her exit route was cut off. We have sent another team into help, but currently they can't get to them."

"And the power dampeners?" J'onn asked.

"Still trying to find them."

"Okay. Have the other squads help contain the site. No one is to escape."

"Yes Sir." The Agent said running off, leaving J'onn to worry about what was happening to Alex and Kara.

"What are you doing here?" Eliza asked as her eldest granddaughter entered the room.

"Checking on Alex. And I thought she may want a few things." The teen said waving a bag.

"Where's MJ?"

"With Ruby and Chewie at the house."

"How did you get here?"

"Diz drove me. Don't worry the DEO were following us the whole way." The teen said before asking. "How is she?"

"Scared. They still haven't found your aunt." Eliza said. "Seeing you are here, perhaps you can talk to her."

"Sure."

"Hey Alex?" The teenage Kara called as she entered the room Alex was in.

"What are you doing here?" The teenager asked looking up.

"I thought you might want some new clothes." Kara said holding up a bag.

"Thanks. Did you hear anything out there?"

"Out where and what?"

"With Eliza, about mom."

"Sorry no." Kara said before seeing how ripped and blood stained her cousin's clothes were. "What happened to you?"

"It was worse for mom and now she is there alone."

"My mom will find her." Kara said.

"You don't know that."

"It's kind of their thing." Kara reminded her.

"What if she can't this time?"

"She won't stop." Kara said. "You just need a little hope and faith."

"That's mom's thing rather than mine. I've never matched her on the hope thing."

"It's a good a time as any to start."

"Powers wearing off." Kara said feeling tired as they walked down another corridor searching for an exit.

"I know." Alex said. "I just need you to hang on a little longer. Alex really wants to see you." She added as they reached another sealed door. "Let's try this way."

"Alex." Kara said struggling to remain focused. "If I-"

"When we are out you can finish that sentence. For now let's just get you home." She said as they started down another corridor.

As they walked Alex got the sense someone was watching them. Turning she saw two of the doors off the corridor open and three guards step out. Choosing to protect her sister rather than go straight on the attack she pushed Kara out of the way. That decision giving time to the men to start their attack, with the first of them drawing a dagger and lunging at Alex.

As the blade penetrated Alex's shoulder she gasped in pain before kicking her attacker in the kneecap. As he stumbled backwards Alex pulled out the dagger from her shoulder before using it to stab him in the neck. She then drew her secondary gun and shot the next closest man. Turning she saw the third man was having a change of heart and was running away from them. Seeing him run, and without thinking, she shot him three times before helping her sister to her feet.

"We have to get out of here." Alex said.

"How?"

"You hear that?" Alex asked. Not getting any response she looked over to her sister. "Stay with me Kara."

"Can't."

"Yes, you can. Come on. Alex needs you." She said dragging Kara to the source of the noise in one of the rooms the men had emerged from. She then leaned Kara against the wall before walking to one of the metal floor plates. Crouching she tried to pull if off only to feel pain shoot through her bleeding shoulder. She was about to try to stem the bleeding when she saw Kara collapse to the floor. Knowing her sister was in more need than her she went back to lifting the floor plate. After a lot of effort she prized the plate off the ground and revealed water flowing few feet below.

Moving back to Kara she helped her to her feet and led her to the new hole. When they reached it Alex said.

"Let's go."

Seeing the hole and water Kara looked at her sister and said.

"Can't."

"Yes you can. The current will do the work. And I'll keep your head above water. You just need to trust me."

With that she held her sister tightly and they jumped into the icy cold flowing water below. As her head broke through the surface she pulled Kara up as the current swept them down a dark channel.

Gasping for air Alex, ignoring the pain in her shoulder, tried to keep her barely conscious sister above the water as the current caused them to crash into the sides of the tunnel before finally Alex saw light and the water carried them outside. Any hope Alex was given by seeing the outside started to vanish as the current got stronger and she started to struggle to keep Kara above the waterline, all the while burning pain ripped through her stabbed shoulder. Just then she felt hands grip her, moments before she and Kara were plucked from the water.

As they were put down Alex, spluttering and shivering, looked up to see J'onn and some of her team standing above them she said. "'Bout time you got here." She then looked at J'onn and said. "She needs help."

"So do you." He said.

"The power dampeners have been deactivated." Jones said approaching the group.

"Need to get her to Lena's." Alex said as she tried to stay warm.

Nodding J'onn lifted both sisters before looking at one of the Agents and saying.

"Don't forget no information can get out from here."

"Yes Sir." He nodded as J'onn flew off.

"You heard him, let's shut this place down." The Agent said to the others.
