Summary: There is a huge talent show in the hotel, and Dennis wants to be in the spotlight. However, Quasimodo wants to get famous first.
This chapter is the parody of the episode: Culture Shock.
Today was a slow day at the hotel, as Dracula was getting worried about anyone not coming to the hotel. Quasimodo was nearby, and is reading a magazine titled, 'Hunchback Life'.
"I just don't get it.", Dracula said, "If this new salad bar that Johnny suggested doesn't attract anybody, then what will?". While he was thinking about it, Dracula soon noticed Quasimodo somewhat trying to do some ballet, but was later stopped by Dracula.
"Quasimodo!", Dracula said, to which the hunchback stopped. "There's going to be some changes around here, and that includes...". But before Dracula started to give out those changes, a little green gremlin monster walked through the doors.
"A customer!", Dracula said, "Welcome to Hotel Transylvania!", he happily said, as he uses his magic to levitate the gremlin and placed him in a chair. "Alright Dennis, would you like to help me out with this one.", Dracula said to his grandson.
Dennis always loved to help out his grandfather, so he decided to go to the gremlin and said, "Hello customer, at this hotel,", he said with drama, "You are the captain and I'm your cabin boy. Just say anything, and I'll throw myself in the brig.".
The gremlin had no idea what Dennis was saying until the young boy said, "In other words, what would you like?". "All I need was change for the payphone out there.", the gremlin said, thinking that Dennis is weird.
Dennis soon came back with some coins to give to the gremlin in exchange for the dollar, but the gremlin left one behind. Noticing this, Dracula lunges towards the coin in his bat form, just as Dennis was almostgoing for the grab, and placed it in a safe.
Soon, Dracula called his entire family to his office for a discussion. "As you may see, I may not be an expert on stocks and bonds,", he said, showing the family a chart, "but profits are going down. We need a way to attract customers.".
Dennis had lots of ideas, including having the food be twice as large, or even a day where people can bring in their pets, and even another idea in which the humans come up with the most spectacular costume for a costume party.
Johnny liked those suggestions, but he thinks that there should be some live entertainment. "I have a great idea: we should do a talent show!", he said, even explaining that everyone can bring culture to the hotel, and not to mention, money.
Dracula loved this idea, and he decided that everyone should enter, however Quasimodo overheard this and while Dracula was distracted with making preparations for the talent show, the hunchback erased Dennis' name from the list, as he added his name.
While the stage is being step up, Dennis asked Quasimodo when he's going to do his talent, however Quasimodo said that Dennis would most likely not compete. When Dennis heard this, his eyes tear up, however, the hunchback decided to let Dennis show him his talent.
Dennis' talent involved blowing bubbles that turned into different creatures, and tap dancing, as he soon turned on an old honky-tonk piano tune on the radio. "Ta-da!", Dennis said, but Quasimodo wasn't amused.
"That is the most ridiculous talent I've ever seen!", Quasimodo said, which hurted Dennis' feelings a little. "No one wants to see someone blowing bubbles, that turn into tap dancing hippos, while that honky-tonk nonsense of music is playing.", he continued.
"What people want is culture!", Quasimodo reminded Dennis, "Not bubbles!". "Okay, I'll find the most cultured act, anyone has ever seen!", Dennis said, as he flew off in his bat form.
"Ha!", Quasimodo laughed, "The only cultural thing that boy could ever do, is that he's no go at talent.".
Soon, people and monsters were going to the talent show, and Dennis peeked out from the curtains. "Wow, this must be what a full house is.", he said, "I can see my mom and dad! Hi, mommy! Hi, daddy!". "Hi, son!", Mavis said, with Johnny waving more excitingly.
"I guess my parents are excited for me to be in the show.", Dennis said. Just then, Quasimodo appeared, and said, "Alright everyone, places ready?", as he is also the host of the show.
"Mr Quasimodo!", Dennis said, "Look at this new trick.". Dennis was on a high diving board, and onnthe ground was a glass of water. As Dennis was ready to jumped, Quasimodo move the glass, with causing Dennis to almost crash into the floor, but he safely got into his bat form.
"Why'd you do that for?", Dennis said, to which Quasimodo said, "No one wants to see you in the show.". But Dennis wants to be in the show, and told Quasimodo that very thing. "So, you wanna be in the talent show?", he said as he gave Dennis a mop and bucket, "You can clean up the stage when the show is over!".
Soon, Quasimodo went out onto the stage, "Hello, and welcome to the first annual Transylvania talent show. Sponsored by this hotel from where you're viewing it from.", he announced. "Now, give yourself a round of an applause to...", Quasimodo tried to say, but was always interrupted by one of the werewolf kids.
"Ericka!", he said, as Ericka soon appeared on the stage, wearing a cheerleader costume, and holding pom-poms in her hands. "Give me a T-R-A.", she said, as she did various cheerleading moves, "Give me a N-S-Y-L.", she continued.
"Add 'Vania', and what does that spell?", she asked, to which everyone in the audience said along with Ericka, "Transylvania!", while Ericka was somewhat juggling Quasimodo in the air.
Soon enough, Ericka was finished. "That's what I call talent!", Frank said from the audience, and Eunice added, "Yeah, the talent of being a daredevil!". Ignoring Dennis' words of how he should mop, Quasimodo said, "And now: poetry...", which caused the audience to get bland, until the hunchback said, "By Tinkles!".
"Ooh", the audience said in unison. Soon, Tinkles appears on the stage, and read the poem by barking, and Winnie in the audience said, "Boy, Tinkles sure has a beautiful voice.".
After Tinkles finished his poem, Quasimodo was interrupted again by Dennis, who asked which cleaning solution he should use. The next act, was something unexpected, as it was actually Bela doing magic tricks.
"And now for my final trick!", Bela said, before getting sinister, "I will make something from this hotel disappear before your very eyes.". Going up to a table with two humans sitting near it, Bela grabs a smartphone and tries to fly away. "Hey, my phone!", one of the humans said, before Dracula stopped him.
"Nice try, hand the phone over!", Dracula said. "You may have won this time,", Bela said, as he said a bunch of magic words, hoping to make himself disappear, but this backfired. Knowing that his plan has failed, Bela slowly fluttered back to his mountain.
"Johnny!", Dracula said, "This talent show idea of yours is going downhill!". "Don't worry, Drac!", Johnny said, "We know we saved the best act is for last!". As Johnny looked at the clipboard, he somehow noticed that Quasimodo's name was overlapping Dennis' in permanent marker.
"I didn't say that Quasimodo's the last act!", Johnny said, "He's not even in the show!". "Then that means...", Mavis said until Johnny interrupted, "Quasimodo cheated on my idea, and is hosting the entire show!".
"And now,", Quasimodo said, "Feast your eyes on the greatest grand final of a lifetime!". In neon, words appear that said, 'The Incredible Quasimodo!', and the hunchback did some dance moves, to which the audience said that they were disgusted.
"Boo!", said Winnie, "That's not talent!". "Well, you guys don't even know what talent is!", Quasimodo said, but everyone said, "No talent, no talent, no talent!". To make matters worse, Quasimodo got belted with tomatoes, all over the face.
As Quasimodo angrily goes backstage, he told Dennis to clean up. "But, I didn't do my act yet.", Dennis said, and Quasimodo said, "The show is over!".
Dennis suddenly stopped, "What?", he said with confusion. "This show is over, and I gave you the mop to clean up AFTER the show, it wasn't a talent to begin with!", Quasimodo said.
Dennis now had tears in his eyes, and decided that he should clean up the mess out there. As he walked onto the stage and started to clean, many residents regained their interest. "Oh, look at that!", one resident said, as lots of others joined in, "We can totally watch this.".
Quasimodo, however, thought that the audience wanted an encore, so he went back out to the stage, and pushed Dennis behind the curtain. However, everyone stared. Dennis soon came back out, and the crowd resumed their cheering.
This caused Quasimodo to get concerned, as he even did an experiment. Every time Dennis is shown, the crowd cheered, but every time Quasimodo appeared, it's the opposite. This even happened when Quasimodo was mopping instead of Dennis.
Eventually, the mopping stopped, and the crowd cheered. "That was the best show ever!", Dracula said, "Yeah, who knew my son had such awesome talent?", Johnny said, as the crowd lifted Dennis in the air and cheered.
