Chapter Five

Another new day has arrived. After having to pry Danielle off Luz again, and having breakfast, the girls and King had followed Eda straight to a nearby beach. The more they went further down the beach, the more they could smell a distinct odor in the air. Turns out it was a massive slug that was beached and had already died. The girls were stunned when seeing the slug. Danielle ended up silently praying for the lost life.

"Well, Danielle! Luz!" said Eda, elbowing the girls. "Did you ever in your life think you'd see something as breathtaking as this?"

"I don't like this," said Luz, before plugging her nose.

"The smell is more potent than I thought," said Danielle, trying to keep her breakfast down. "Lordo lordo."

"Yes, it doesn't get much more inspiring than the trash slug. It makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside," said Eda, walking over to the trash slug before taking a rubber chicken out of its mouth. "Until, blam, it gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt. And then we get to sell the stuff it ate."

"Please don't make me," said the girls, when Eda handed out a pickaxe.

"Aw, come on, you two," said King, walking away before unfurling a beach towel. "It's not every day you get to go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass."

"Ah, nuts to you three," said Eda, swinging the pickaxe at the trash slug.

"So, Eda..." said Luz, hearing glass shatter every time Eda struck the trash slug and wincing every time. "What if we tried some new lessons for my apprenticeship? Like read ancient scrolls or mix together potions, or…"

"Or try to feel our magic," said Danielle, remembering what Collector had told her during one out of body. "I think I'm getting it, just hitting a block somewhere."

"Ugh. That sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff," said Eda, tossing stuff from the trash slug before hearing Danielle. "Wait… what?"

"You can feel your magic?" asked Luz, staring at Danielle.

"Yes," replied Danielle, staring at Luz and Eda. "I can feel it but trying to get it to where I can do magic well… I've hit a block."

"That is so cool!" said Luz, grabbing and startling Danielle. "How do I do?'

"Oh… um…" said Danielle, trying to think how to explain.

"Alright, that's enough," said Eda, before heading back to swinging the pickaxe at the trash slug. "Everyone has different approaches to finding their magic."

"Do you remember yours?" asked Luz, staring at Eda.

"Uh…" said Eda, staring back and forth between the girls. "Story for another time."

"So, is there a magic school here?" asked Luz, smiling. "Like, winding towers, cute uniforms, dark plots that threaten your life kind of magic school?"

"Uniforms are cute," said Danielle, crossing her arms over her chest. "But I prefer wearing whatever I like."

"Mm-hmm. What's worse, they force you to learn magic the "proper" way," said Eda, before changing to a more positive attitude. "But magic isn't proper. It's wild and unpredictable. And that's why it's so beautiful. I didn't finish school, and look at me! Who wouldn't envy where I am right now?"

"Neither did my dad," said Danielle, looking at Luz. "And he's really good at his masonry job."

"Uh... Hey, here's a lesson," said Eda, dropping her pickaxe and grabbing the girls hands and putting it in a puddle of trash slug bile. "A great witch is resourceful, like this."

"Puzzolente... viscido," said Danielle, plugging her nose.

"Oh, hey," said Luz, grabbing something after Eda dragged their hand around in the bile puddle. "Greasy slime ball."

"Huh…" said Danielle, looking at the slime ball before Luz gave it to her to check out. "Wait… this feels like…"

"Use your slime ball wisely, young witches," said Eda, cupping the girls hands around the slime ball before heading back towards the trash slug. "Back at it! We'll hit the stink nodes first."

"Actually, if it's okay, I think I'll head home and look at pictures of animals that are still... alive," said Luz, backing away before petting King's belly. "Love you, King. You little beach peach."

"Uh… Luz, wait," said Danielle, before looking back towards Eda.

"Go ahead. Buddy system," said Eda, turning back to the trash slug. "More for me, then. There we go. Okay."

"Sorry Eda," said Danielle, walking after Luz.

"Ow!" shouted King, a tossed tuba falling over his head.

"This is awesome!" said Eda, going through a bunch of stuff from the trash slug.

Finally catching up to Luz and handing the slime ball back, they just walk through the woods for a bit. As Danielle enjoys the scenery, Luz is staring at the slime ball.

"Ugh!" said Luz, pocketing the slime ball. "If magic's all about digging for slime balls, maybe I don't have the stomach for it."

"There's more to that slime ball than meets the eyes," said Danielle, knowing what the slime ball actually was.

"You can do it!" said a feminine voice nearby, catching the girls attention. "You can!"

"Mysterious voice of encouragement?" said Luz, her and Danielle looking around before peering through some bushes. "No! Little witch girl."

"She seems…" said Danielle, in a low whisper. "Flustered."

Turns out who they heard was a girl around their age. A little stocky and just a hair shorter than Danielle. Light skin, dark navy-blue short chin length hair with a few loose strands, and olive-green eyes. Wore a gray tunic and a dark gray cowl and belt with a gold pin with her sleeves and leggings being magenta and gray-black short-heeled shoes. Had a pair of gold framed round glasses. Pointy ears just like Eda's.

"You can do it. Even if you get a bad grade, it's not a reflection of you as a witch. And my parents are right. There are better opportunities on this track. Now, get to school!" said the young Witch Girl, pacing back and forth before getting sad when she stepped on a flower. "Oh, no! Oh, little friend! I'm sorry!"

"Plant magic…" thought Danielle, sparkling eyed when she saw the flower perk up. "The vegetables, fruits and herbs I could grow!"

Just then, the young witch girl picked up a sound with her ears. A wagon being powered by magic rolls in with a pot and another young witch girl, the same age as well, sitting on it reading a book. Definitely a little taller than Luz. Thin with pale skin and short chin length aquamarine hair with her brown roots showing and pulled back into a ponytail. Golden eyes and pointy ears as well. Her outfit was much the same but she had a set of black triangle earrings on her ears and her nails were painted black.

"Willow! Wow," said the Aquamarine Haired Young Witch, looking away from her book and hopping down. "You're so unnoticeable I almost rolled into ya."

"The flower…" thought Danielle, seeing the flower wilt. "Can emotions affect magic?"

"Hi, Amity," said Willow, downcast and standing up.

"Uh, shouldn't you get to class early to prep your..." said Amity, only for a rattling sound to catch her attention, Willow's wagon tumbling over and spilling its content on the ground. "Oh, Willow. You don't have anything to show, do you?"

"Witch drama!" said Luz, whispering in a low voice.

"Oh no," thought Danielle, seeing Willow pulling her hood up in embarrassment before looking at Amity. "Don't tell me… that one is... I hope Willow will be okay."

"This is why people call you Half-a-Witch Willow. Oh, looks like someone wants to say something to you," said Amity, hearing her pot rattle before pulling the lid off. "Abomination, rise."

"You're a..." said the Abomination, leaning forward and leaving an abomination sludge star mark on Willow's forehead. "Star."

"Aw. It's like mine. But much smaller and meaningless," said Amity, pointing at hers then putting an arm around Willow's shoulder. "As top student, it's my duty to tell you to keep at it. Even you could get a passing grade someday."

"She's not doing it the right way," thought Danielle, looking down. "She's acting like a bully in my eyes."

"Abomination, cower," said Amity, her abomination going back into the pot with a groan before she starts heading back to school pushing the wagon. "See you in class, superstar."

"Oh Willow," thought Danielle, staring at Willow. "Looks like she needs a hug."

"Oh, see you in class, superstar! I hate when she does that" said Willow, getting angry and wiping the abomination sludge off. "I hate making abominations. I hate getting bad grades. Ugh! I can't stand this anymore."

"Oh boy!" said Danielle, seeing Willow's eyes glow green and a lot of thick thorny vines to emerge from the wilted flower, heading her and Luz's way. "Mamma mia! Radicalbero!"

"Aah!" screamed the girls, when Willow's vines grabbed at their ankles and pulled them closer, Willow looking towards them when the vine let go.

Meanwhile, back at the beach, Eda had tied a sack to her staff. Watching from atop what looked to be an ac unit, King sees a bunch of orange eggs in the sack.

"Not a bad haul," said Eda, patting the eggs. "That oviduct was loaded."

"Ah. Lose apprentices, gain garbage eggs," said King, staring at Eda. "Fair trade."

"I didn't lose anything," said Eda, scoffing and staring back at King.

"If you don't teach Luz and Danielle right, you will," said King, before standing on the ac unit. "And that's when I come in, make them my apprentices."

"Ha! And what would you teach?" said Eda, chuckling. "How to get stuck in the arm of a sweater?"

"Hey, that only happened once!" shouted King, pointing at Eda before putting his hands on his waist. "I'd teach them about demons. How to identify them, talk to 'em, raise an army with them and tear apart the world!"

"After they tear you out of the sweater arm, right?" said Eda, leaning against her staff.

"You think you're so smart! Well," said King, hopping off the ac unit. "Why don't we make a little bet where I can prove that I'd make a better teacher."

"Okay. I'm obligated to remind you that I only use our bets to utterly humiliate you," said Eda, reaching into her hair and procuring a book before opening it. "And that you've never won."

"I like those odds," said King, staring at the page in the book.

"So, how's this?" said Eda, grabbing an egg off the ground. "Teach this trash slug to be your loyal soldier in one day. Prove that you can be a better teacher than me, and the girls are all yours. But if you don't, I change your name from King to... Mr. Wiggles."

"Well, when you lose, you'll have to..." said King, trying to think of a comeback. "Wear a shame hat and sleep in a shack and never come into the Owl House again! Ha!"

"Deal," said Eda, holding the book up for King to stamp his pawprint on it before tossing the egg onto King's skull only for it to crack and the trash slug to slide down into his open paws. "Ha ha!"

Back with the girls, Willow had finally calmed down after seeing them. Bending down, Willow uses her magic to push the vines away from the girls.

"Oh, no, no, no, no, no!" said Willow, worried and moving the vines off their ankles. "I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay," said Luz, rubbing her ankles. "The thorns only went through a few layers of skin."

"Sarebbe potuta andare peggio," said Danielle, only to see Willow confused before hiding behind Luz. "I mean…hehe… it could have been worse. Hide me."

"So... circly," said Willow, leaning closer and seeing Luz's ears. "You're human! This is astounding!"

"What do we do now?" asked Danielle, whispering in Luz's ears.

"A human on the Boiling Isles!" said Willow, excited and grabbed Luz's face before pulling her up in a standing position. "How'd you get here? What are you doing here?"

"Human here too," said Danielle, standing up nervously.

"Two humans!" said Willow, circling Danielle before hearing the school bell. "Uh, I'm sorry. I can't stay. I have to go disappoint my teacher. It was nice to meet you, humans."

"Wait! I'm Luz. And you're Willow, right?" said Luz, rushing after Willow. "What you did with that flower and those plants, it was... wow."

"Nice to meet you," said Danielle, walking over. "My name's Danielle."

"Thanks, but... I'm not even supposed to be doing plant magic," said Willow, staring at the mess that was her homework. "My parents put me in the abomination track at school."

"But you look like you so good at it," said Danielle, earning a small smile from Willow.

"Like, magic school?" squealed Luz, grabbing Willow who nodded her response yes. "That's so cool! I'm so jealous. We have a teacher, but her lessons are a bit... untraditional. I bet she wouldn't even let us enroll. But I wish I could spend one day there."

"I wish I could get a passing grade for once," said Willow, kicking the abomination goo. "Then people would stop calling me Half-a-Witch Willow."

"Have you tried talking to your parents about it?" asked Danielle, looking at Willow sighing. "Oh…"

"Hey, wait," said Luz, an idea forming and bending down towards the abomination goo. "I know how we can both get what we want."

"Luz," said Danielle, seeing Luz cover herself in abomination goo. "What are you thinking?"

"Make me your abomination," said Luz, staring at Willow. "I'll get you a good grade, and you can get me into magic school. It's fiendishly clever."

"What?" said Willow, surprised by Luz's plan.

"Cosa?" said Danielle, staring at Luz and grabbing her arm. "I don't want to get us and Willow in trouble."

"It's okay. I saw that girl's thing," said Luz, reassuring Danielle and Willow. "It's just chunks of stuff that talks weird. I'm chunks of stuff, and I talk weird!"

"That's true," said Willow, giggling before shaking hands. "Okay. It's a deal. Luz."

"This is a great plan," said Luz, only to see the abomination goo stuck their hands together.

"Oops. Abomination goo," said Willow, trying to yank them apart.

"Why do I see this going badly?" said Danielle, before Luz grabbed her hand and started climbing into the pot. "Whoa, wait… cosa!?"

"We can both get into school this way," said Luz, dunking down into the pot. "And two is better than one."

"True, but…" said Danielle, before looking at Willow and Luz. "Fine… but I'm not coming out of the pot."

"Yes!" said Luz, helping Danielle climb in. "It's actually not that bad."

"Ew… speak for yourself… ew ew ew," said Danielle, dunking down into the abomination goo. "Viscido! Viscido! Blegh!"

"You like to stay clean," said Luz, staring at the Danielle. "Don't'cha?"

"Uh-huh," replied Danielle, seeing Willow beginning to push the wagon towards school. "Ooooh… not as potent as the trash slug but still… puzza."

"Uh… you two are a little loud," said Willow, hearing the two talk. "Abominations are not that loud."

"Scusa," said Danielle, lowering her voice.

"Huh…" said Willow, bending closer to the pot. "I don't understand."

"I'm… uh… Italian and polish with a little german somewhere there on my Mamma's side," said Danielle, blushing while sinking into the goo a little more in embarrassment. "I usually slip into Nonna's language a lot."

"Oh, that's interesting," said Willow, staring at Danielle. "Which one are you speaking?"

"Italian," replied Danielle, twiddling her index fingers. "I know very little german. And polish I've learned from Dziadek."

"Wow," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "Multilingual."

"I also know Japanese from Ru-chan," said Danielle, before thinking. "Though Dziadek has been dead before I was born… and Ru-chan is basically my guardian spirit."

"Are you okay?" asked Willow, seeing Danielle leaning against the pot and sighing.

"Sto bene," said Danielle, before correcting herself. "I mean… I'm fine."

"Okay…" said Willow, seeing that Danielle was not fine before seeing her school. "Here it is. Welcome to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. Remember to stay hidden, okay?"

"Huh…" said Danielle, peering over the edge of the pot while Luz squealed in excitement, Willow pushing the wagon through the halls towards her locker and grabbing a book. "So cool."

"Hmm?" said Willow, feeling a fellow student bump into her and looking at said student.

Turs out it was a younger male witch but shorter than the girls and much younger, possibly twelve years old. Brown skin, short dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. He was wearing the same uniform like Willow though the sleeves and pants were light blue.

"Willow, you would not believe humans," said the Witch boy, looking at a human magazine.

"Humans? Psh," said Willow, staring at the pot nervously. "I haven't seen any. What?"

"Did you know that humans nail barbed wire to their kids' teeth?" said the Witch boy, showing the magazine to Willow. "But why? Maybe to make them magnetic."

"Actually, it's for storing treats," said Luz, confusing the Witch boy and seeing Danielle nervous.

"Okay, Augustus," said Willow, placing her book on the wagon. "I'm gonna tell you something. But you have to be cool."

"I can be spool," said Augustus, stammering. "I mean, cool."

"Okay," said Willow, before turning towards her pot. "Abomination, rise."

"Ta-da!" said Luz, standing up and surprising Augustus. "I'm an abomination."

"Luz, that's not how abominations act," said Willow, staring at Luz before hearing Danielle covering her laugh.

"No. No, it…" said Augustus, playing with his ears while looking at Luz's ears. "It couldn't be."

"He's the president of the Human Appreciation Society. Most witches wouldn't be able to recognize a human right away," said Willow, stating a fact about her friend. "But Augustus is an expert."

"Where are your gills?" asked Augustus, staring at Luz and confusing Danielle. "Wait… did I hear someone else in there?"

"Not coming out," said Danielle, before deeply sighing and slightly peering over the edge of the pot. "Hey…"

"Two humans!" said Augustus, staring at Danielle. "One of the popular ones."

"I'm going to stop you right there," said Danielle, leaning on the edge of the pot. "I'm not one of these popular people. I'm just me."

"But you look like one of the popular kids in the magazines," said Augustus, picking up the magazine he dropped. "See!"

"And I assure you," said Danielle, looking away from the group. "I'm not."

"I knew an Augustus back in the human world," said Luz, bending down and staring at Augustus. "We called him Gus."

"Gus? Nickname? Human nickname? Gus? Call me it," said Augustus, preferring the nickname. "Wow. Gus! This is the best day of my life!"

"Ooh, that's a loud bell," said Danielle, putting her index finger in her ear when the school bell went off.

"I've gotta get to spelling class," said Gus, running towards his class with wand in hand. "See you guys at lunch!"

"All right," said Willow, waving bye to Gus then looking at Luz and Danielle. "Into the darkness you go."

"Uh…" said Danielle, plugging her nose while hearing Luz hiss playfully before going back into abomination goo. "Puzza..."

Back at the owl house, King was beginning to train the trash slug. With dog treats to be exact and even gave it a name. As for Eda, she was just watching how the training went while lounging on a chair while drinking some unknown beverage.

"Aw. Who's a good Prince, Jr.?" said King, dangling a dog biscuit in front of the trash slug. "Who's a good guy?"

"Hey, Mr. Wiggles," said Eda, gaining King's attention. "You're not gonna teach it anything doing that."

"It's called positive reinforcement, Eda. And it works wonders" said King, shaking the dog biscuit back and forth before the trash slug doubled in size after eating the dog biscuit. "Ha ha! See? Now watch this. Prince, Jr.! Attack Eda! Knock over her drink! Mess up her hair!"

"Oh, no," said Eda, looking expressionless at King and the trash slug. "Please stop."

"Well, I haven't seen your students in forever," said King, staring at Eda while the trash slug grabbed another dog biscuit out of his paw. "For all we know, they're not even loyal to you anymore."

"Ha-ha-ha, you wish," said Eda, before wondering where Luz and Danielle went. "But yeah. Where are they?"

Back at Hexside, in an abomination classroom, quite a few students were being graded on their work. One female student with ram horns in particular had an abomination with a lot of feet sticking out in various places.

"Hmm. Too many toenails in unexpected places. Fail. Pathetic!" said the Abomination Teacher, failing the student. "The biggest abominations are all of you! If the next abomination is a failure, everyone gets extra homework for a month!"

"Yikes…" thought Danielle, hearing the teacher. "Tough teacher."

"And the next one to come up is..." said the Abomination Teacher, staring at each student.

"Excuse me, sir, but I am ready to present my abomination. Rise!" said Amity, her abomination rising out of the pot dramatically and posing.

"I've always saved the best for last, Amity. You'll have to wait your turn," said the Abomination Teacher, chuckling before turning to face Willow. "How about... Willow."

"You're kidding," thought Danielle, hearing the other students put Willow down. "How many bullies are there?"

"Don't listen to them, Willow," said Luz, peeking out of the pot and whispering encouraging words to her. "We can do this."

"Uh..." said Willow, after pushing her wagon to the front of class. "Abomination, rise."

"Ta-da!" said Luz, punching the lid off and jumping out before striking a pose.

"Abomination, bow," said Willow, pointing to the ground after everyone in class stopped gasping in shock.

"Blah!" said Luz, grunting while bowing to the command.

"She's definitely enjoying this," thought Danielle, imagining what Luz was doing while staying hidden in the pot.

"Very impressive," said the Abomination Teacher, impressed by Willow's work. "But does it speak?"

"Uh, I may be your abomination, but you're my a-mom-ination," said Luz, grabbing Willow's hand and leaning her head towards Willow making said girl smile.

"Ugh… really," thought Danielle, hearing the students awing at the two besides Amity. "To each their own, I guess."

"A-mom-ination! Splendid wordplay," said the Abomination Teacher, before writing the grade on Luz's forehead. "A plus!"

"Awesome!" thought Danielle, hearing the grade. "Now to get the heck out of dodge before any trouble comes our way."

"Wonderful work today, Willow," said the Abomination Teacher, after class was let out and grabbing Amity's badge. "Looks like we have a new top student."

"But…" said Amity, growling and reaching out for her badge.

"Uh…" said Willow, seeing the badge placed on her cowl and seeing the Abomination Teacher leave afterwards. "Thank you, sir."

"Hey," said Amity, stopping Willow from leaving. "Last time I saw you, your abomination was mush. What did you do?"

"I, uh, took your pep talk to heart, Amity," said Willow, adjusting her glasses.

"I bet you did. I've got my eyes on you, Half-a-Witch," said Amity, walking backwards down the hall while not breaking eye contact with Willow as she bumps into another student.

"Yikes," said Danielle, peering over the edge of the pot.

"Uh‐oh. I think Amity is onto us," said Willow, losing sight of Amity as she rounded the corner.

Back at the owl house, Eda had looked all over the house looking for the girls. Slamming open the front door, Eda stares at Hooty.

"Ow!" shouted Hooty, his beak slammed into the wall.

"Have you seen Luz ad Danielle?" asked Eda, staring at Hooty.

"I heard their tiny mouse feet walking close by. Or that might've been some mice. Anyway, someone started moving in that direction," said Hooty, gesturing his head in a certain direction. "Hoo, hoo‐hoo, hoo."

"Are you trying to point, or…" said Eda, staring at Hooty.

"Look at the weather vane!" shouted Hooty, staring at Eda.

"But the only thing that way is the..." said Eda, looking at the weather van before gasping and running in a certain direction. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

Coming upon Hexside, which apparently wasn't that far away from her house, Eda peers into one of the classrooms and sees the kindergarten class. Going over to another window Eda spots Luz but not Danielle.

"No! Pointless busywork!" said Eda, before shouting. "No! Why! School!"

"Wait…" thought Danielle, hearing Eda despite hiding in the pot. "Was that Eda?"

Not long after morning classes were over, Willow had pushed the cart with Luz and Danielle towards the cafeteria. Gus had joined up not long later since he had brought his lunch to school that day.

"Hey. Do humans eat PB&J's?" asked Gus, bringing out his sandwich.

"Oh my gosh, I haven't eaten real food in so long, please give me some," said Luz, taking the half that Gus broke off.

"Yeah," said Danielle, peeking out of the pot. "We're learning that not everything here is edible to us."

"I don't know, Gus," said Willow, grumbling. "If Amity saw that..."

"I saw that! Abominations don't eat!" shouted Amity, jumping onto the table before grabbing Luz by her shirt collar and shaking her. "I know you're in there! You can't hide from me. What are you? Who are you? I want answers!"

"Luz!" thought Danielle, gasping when Luz was grabbed.

"Amity Blight," said the Abomination Teacher, not liking what he was seeing.

"Huh?" said Amity, stunned at seeing the Abomination Teacher.

"I suspected a twinge of jealousy, but this, this is just sad," said the Abomination Teacher, staring at Amity.

"But I…" said Amity, trying to get the Abomination Teacher to listen. "No! Look at it."

"Report to Principal Bump's office," said the Abomination Teacher, staring at Amity.

"But…" said Amity, not liking what she was hearing.

"Now!" said the Abomination Teacher, raising his voice slightly.

"Luz…" said Danielle, putting her hand on Luz's shoulder. "I think we need to come clean. This isn't sitting right with me."

After seeing where the girls were, even if she didn't see Danielle, Eda headed back to the owl house. King was still training the trash slug, tossing a huge amount of dog biscuits into its mouth.

"Roll over! Yes! Heel! Yes, yes!" said King, thinking his training was working before spotting Eda. "So, did you find your runaway students? By your expression, I can tell Luz and Danielle has gone and found themselves someplace else to learn. Which means I have won!"

"Yes, great, you won," said Eda, staring at King though still wondering where Danielle was. "You have a giant soldier thing and I have nothing. Congrats!"

"Oh, Eda. Don't say that," said King, before pulling out the shame cone. "At least you have this!"

"Ugh," said Eda, grabbing the shame cone and walking towards the shack.

"I am so funny! Ah, well, Prince, Jr. training complete. Go forth! Make the world tremble at your feet… or worm stubs. Go forth? Oh. Right," said King, before grabbing the dog biscuit box and shaking it before Prince Jr. growls angrily hearing that the box was empty. "Ah!"

Meanwhile, back at Hexside, lunch break was over. Willow had carted the wagon back to class.

"Whoo! I'm a sweaty little abomination," said Luz, climbing out of the pot. "But now we don't have to worry about Amity. High five!"

"Luz," said Danielle, sitting on the edge of the pot. "We need to come clean."

"Slap my hand," said Luz, demonstrating the high five. "It's a human thing."

"Oh. Oh, my," said Gus, repeatedly high fiving Luz. "Oh, man, what a rush!"

"Why are you not listening?" asked Danielle, seeing that Luz and the others weren't hearing her before seeing the classroom door open. Slipping back into the pot as quickly as she could, Danielle clamps her hands over her mouth. "No no… karma!"

"Good afternoon, students," said an Elderly Man, eyeing Luz.

"Principal Bump," said Willow, startled to see the principal and Amity.

Principal Bump had light skin and green eyes. Had some weird purplish red creature like headgear covering his upper head. His attire was a long black gown with a gold yoke, a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves and cape hem, plus a blue stole draped over his shoulders and black pointed shoes.

"Hmm," said Principal Bump, studying Luz. "Abomination, rise. Abomination, lie."

"Uh, viral fame is a worthy pursuit. Your cat would never eat you if it got the chance. Chemtrails are real…" said Luz, nervously obeying the commands.

"Oh, no, abomination. How strange for it to get the command wrong," said Principal Bump, before pointing at a desk. "I mean lie down."

"How are we going to get out of this?" thought Danielle, peeking over the edge of the pot not noticing the abomination goo reacting to her emotions including the ones in the nearby pots. "Mamma mia!"

"So very lifelike," said Principal Bump, walking towards the desk with Willow. "When Miss Blight told me about your abomination, I had to come by, see what she's made of."

"Oh, I have her list of ingredients right here," said Willow, searching her pockets.

"No. We were hoping..." said Principal Bump, taking a jagged dagger out from his sleeve. "For a closer look. Willow, I'll allow you the first cut."

"CHE COSA! NOOO!" thought Danielle, seeing the dagger and panicking more before feeling a pull from the abomination goo and seeing it starting to encase her with more from the other pots coming her way. "Aah!"

"Hmm," said Gus, noticing out of the corner of his eyes a little abomination goo seeping into Willow's pot before walking over and seeing three empty pots then looking at Willow's and seeing it erratically encasing a scared Danielle. "This is bad."

"Uh, you can't just cut open a human, can you?" asked Willow, holding the jagged dagger Principal Bump gave her and whispering to Luz, shaking her head no in response.

"Willow, go ahead and make the first incision," said Principal Bump, putting a hand on Willow's shoulder.

"We have a problem," said Gus, gaining everyone's attention and backing away from the abomination goo that surged out of the pot.

All the abomination goo that had encased Danielle had formed into a giant abomination. Clawed fingers, fanged mouth, narrow tri-colored eyes and a somewhat muscular build. Towering above everyone in the room. And within the Abomination, Danielle struggling against the small enclosure she was contained within.

"I don't like this," said Danielle, her enclosure pressing up against her. "I don't like this at all."

"What's going on?" asked Principal Bump, staring at the giant of an Abomination.

"Guys," said Gus, backing up towards Willow and Luz. "Danielle's in there."

"Oh, this is not good," said Luz, staring up at the Giant Abomination and wondering how to get Danielle out.

Raising its clawed hand up, the Giant Abomination slashes at Principal Bump. Dodging out of the way, Principal Bump conjures up his own Abomination to attack. Staring at the smaller Abomination, the Giant Abomination grabs and absorbs it turning it into a scythe blade on the back of its right hand.

"Run!" shouted Principal Bump, staring at his students.

"But…" said Amity, spell circles around her wrists.

"It is my duty as principal to keep the students safe," said Principal Bump, conjuring another abomination. "I'll deal with the intruder later. Now, go!"

"I can't just leave Danielle," whispered Luz, leaning towards Willow and Gus. "We have to find a way to get her out."

"But how?" asked Willow, staring at the Giant Abomination before having to dodge a slash that was intended for Principal Bump. "Aah!"

"What did I just say?" shouted Principal Bump, grabbing them with some abomination goo and pushing them out into the hallway before staring back at the Giant Abomination. "I will not let you harm my students!"

"Get me out of here!" screamed Danielle, her enclosure getting smaller.

"There's a student in there…" said Principal Bump, hearing Danielle's screams.

A loud roar from the Giant Abomination was enough to send everyone within range flying. But not before grabbing the other abomination of Principal Bump's and absorbing it, forming a gun barrel on its left arm.

"Abominio, seduto! Abominio, piede!" shouted Danielle, trying to get the abomination to listen. "Don't you dare roll over!"

"This can't be good," said Principal Bump, noticing it charging up some white colored energy in the gun barrel.

A loud crack boom resonated within the school grounds when the Giant Abomination shot a white sparkly energy beam at Principal Bump. Thankfully, Principal Bump dodged at the last second but not without a slight gash on his left shoulder. While Principal Bump was handling the Giant Abomination, Luz and Willow ran down a nearby hall to escape the blast and Gus and Amity down another. Catching their breaths, Luz and Willow lean up against some lockers.

"This is all my fault, Willow. I just wanted to see what a real magic school was like," said Luz, staring at Willow. "And because of it, Danielle is now trapped inside that Giant Abomination."

"Don't worry, we'll figure it out," said Willow, putting a reassuring hand on Luz's shoulder.

Back at the owl house, King himself was dodging Prince Jr.. Running towards the shack, King jumps into Eda's arms.

"Help me, help me, help me!" said King, gripping Eda's arms.

"Trouble with your student?" asked Eda, smirking.

"Yes, yes!" said King, hearing Prince Jr. banging up against the door continuously.

"Are you sure you need my help?" asked Eda, staring at King. "Maybe he only wants more of your brilliant lessons."

"Please help me!" shouted King, being dragged away when Prince Jr. struck down the door and grabbed King's tail. "You can call me Mr. Wiggles!"

Eda stands, removing the shame hat and grabbing her staff. She smacks Prince Jr. in the face with the butt of her staff, making it release King. Prince Jr. retreats as King clings to Eda's leg and whimpers.

"Okay, Mr. Wiggles" said Eda, staring at King. "Here's what we're gonna do."

Back at Hexside, Luz and Willow reached the center atrium but it looked like Principal Bump had used some sealing magic to prevent the Giant Abomination from rampaging all across the school.

"Oh, this is awful," said Willow, leaning up against a pillar. "I don't know what to do. Amity's right. I'm just Half-a-Witch Willow."

"You're Full-Witch Willow. And you're great," said Luz, bringing out some stuff from her pocket including the slime ball from earlier. "And someone once told me great witches are resourceful."

"That's it!" said Willow, grabbing the slime ball.

"You mean that greasy slime ball?" asked Luz, staring at the slime ball.

"Luz, it's a seed!" said Willow, staring at the seed then Luz. "Thank goodness you had it on you."

"Yeah," said Luz, thinking back to when Eda cupped it in her hands and when Danielle mentioned there being more to it. "Thank goodness they told me to hold on to it."

Another deafening crash boom resonated nearby, slamming Principal Bump into a nearby pillar in the central atrium. Looking over towards Principal Bump, Willow draws a spell circle over the seed on her lap.

"Please grow!" said Willow, large vines growing from the seed.

Thorny vines grow from the seed, reaching to the ceiling. They stab through the Giant Abomination, narrowly missing Danielle in the center who screamed in surprise, sending it to the ceiling and pinning it there. Principal Bumps gasps seeing the entire atrium covered in vines, curled around pillars and reaching from the bottom most floor to the absolute ceiling. Pink petals fall from above, and several of the vines have flowers on them. The sealing magic turns off during the process.

"Remarkable," said Principal Bump, seeing the display in front of him.

"Now we need to get Danielle out of there," said Luz, running towards the vines holding the Giant Abomination.

"Not so fast!" said Amity, blocking Luz's way. "I'm not letting you get away so easily. I want my badge! Abominations, seize!"

Amity's abomination comes from behind them. Luz punches it through the chest, then takes Willow's wrist and runs. Amity reforms the abomination and sends it after them again. Luz and Willow now seem to have a clear path to the vines holding the Giant Abomination and Danielle with it.

"Whoa!" shouted Luz, another one of Amity's abominations stopping them.

"Get outta here!" said Willow, creating a bigger spell circle and sending vines to trap Amity's abomination.

"No! I'm not leaving you," said Luz, her hand on Willow's shoulder. "And I'm not leaving without Danielle."

"I may get detention, but you'll get dissected," said Willow, holding the spell in place. "So go! I'll get Danielle out of here!"

Willow waves a hand, summoning two vines to carry Luz over the abomination and out the door. The door slams after the vines retreat.

"Willow! Danielle!" shouted Luz, before sighing and running towards the owl house. "I can't save you right now. But I know someone who can!"

"I finally caught up," said Gus, climbing over a vine before looking at the Giant Abomination. "What do we do now?"

"All right then…" said Willow, tearing Amity's abomination apart before looking up at the Giant Abomination. "Release her!"

Sending the vines that tore Amity's abomination apart towards the Giant Abomination, Willow has the vines bunch up and thrusts it into the Giant Abomination's chest. Danielle feels vines tangling around her body while struggling against the abomination goo that was crawling all over her body, making it hard for her to breathe. Tugging on a single vine was enough for Willow to know that Danielle signaled her.

"I'm not done with you!" shouted Amity, about to make another abomination.

"Amity! Petty grudges aside," said Principal Bump, putting his hand on her shoulder. "There's a student in there that needs our help."

"What…" said Amity, gasping before looking up at the Giant Abomination.

"All right then," said Principal Bump, grabbing hold off the vines. "When I say pull, you pull! With all your might!"

"Okay!" said Willow, Gus and Amity, gripping the vines harder.

"And pull!" shouted Principal Bump, pulling with all his strength alongside his students.

The Giant Abomination roared in pain. Pulling with as much force as they could, the vines were slowly pulling Danielle out of the Giant Abomination. Gasping, Danielle takes in a breath of air the moment her head was out of the Giant Abomination. Unfortunately, the Giant Abomination wasn't going to let its power source go that easily and tried pulling Danielle back in.

"Don't let up! One final pull!" shouted Principal Bump, resolve in his and his students eyes. "Pull!"

It was that final pull that was able to get Danielle completely out of the Giant Abomination, straight towards Principal Bump's arms. Leaning Danielle against a pillar, Principal Bump, Willow, Gus and Amity look towards the Giant Abomination. Without its power source, the Giant Abomination fell apart, goo falling all over the central atrium's floor.

"Scusa… Scusa…" said Danielle, in such a low whisper, trying to catch her breath, tears falling from her eyes. "Scusa…"

"Now that it's over," said Principal Bump, seeing that the Giant Abomination wasn't coming back before bending down and seeing if Danielle was okay. "Are you okay?"

"Sono spiacente! Sono spiacente! Non volevo che accadesse una cosa del genere!" shouted Danielle, crying and curling into herself. "Volevamo solo aiutare Willow. Non volevo creare questi problemi!"

"What?" said Principal Bump, confused by the words coming out of Danielle's mouth.

"What's she saying?" asked Amity, confused as well. "I don't understand her."

"Whoa, calm down. Breathe like this," said Willow, trying to get Danielle to calm down with a technique she once showed Gus back in the day. "Calm down."

"Huh…" said Danielle, seeing Willow inhaling while hand counting from one to four, and exhaling as her hands count back to one.

"Wait… hold on…" said Gus, Danielle pushing her way through them and running away. "Come back…"

"Aah!" squeaked Danielle, the vines nearby beginning to wrap around her ankles.

"Oh no you don't!" shouted Willow, using her magic to control the vines.

"Sono spiacente..." said Danielle, looking back before running out the doors.

"Is she going to be okay?" asked Amity, staring out the school doors.

"I don't know," said Principal Bump, putting a reassuring hand on Amity's and Willow's shoulder. "Let's hope her parents can."

"I need to get back to the owl house," said Danielle, crying and breathing heavy as she ran towards the direction of the owl house. "I need to… I need to… shut myself in my room and let no one see me like this. I can't let anyone see me like this. I don't want to be a burden while I'm here."

Slowing down and leaning against a tree, Danielle slowly tries to catch her breath. Wiping the tears away, Danielle takes some calming breaths before hearing fighting in the distance. Sliding down the tree, Danielle curls into herself, trying to ignore the world around her. As that was happening with Danielle, Eda was fighting Prince Jr. and dodging some lava-like substance that was spat her way. King was pushing a barrel of salt on the top of the door's roof.

"Pour the salt, now!" shouted Eda, gaining King's attention.

"Baby boy! I have no son. Eat salt!" shouted King, staring at Prince Jr. before pushing the barrel of salt straight into Prince Jr.'s mouth, making it shrink back down to its small size and running away. "Yes, I did it! I'm amazing! Ahh! You helped too. You are a good teacher."

"I wish Luz and Danielle thought that too," said Eda, after catching King after he fell off the door's roof.

"Eda!" shouted Luz, running towards them and gaining their attention.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! What is this?" asked Eda, after Luz pulled her into a hug. "Ugh! I never understand when you and Danielle do this."

"Your lesson worked! Keeping junk in my pocket saved my life!" said Luz, gasping when remembering what she came here for. "But wait. My new friends. Danielle. They're in danger."

"Luz!" shouted Willow, running and coming into the clearing where they were with Gus in tow.

"Seriously, what is that?" asked Eda, seeing Willow and Gus hugging Luz.

"You won't believe it, Luz," said Willow, staring at Luz. "Everything is almost perfect now! Where's Danielle?"

"Right here…" said Danielle, coming out from behind some trees, seemly calmed down. "I'm fine. I just want to be in our room for a bit."

"Gracias a Dios que estás bien," said Luz, trying to pull Danielle into a hug only for Danielle to back away. "Danielle…"

"I'll be fine," said Danielle, before looking at Willow. "What about you, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Principal Bump was so impressed by my plant work he's switching me to the plant magic track!" said Willow, twirling in place with the magenta color changing to green. "Look!"

"That's great!" said Danielle, glad that Willow was on the track she wanted to be in.

"Yes!" said Luz, hugging Willow again. "Whoo! Oh. What about Amity?"

"Yeah…" said Danielle, wondering about Amity. "What about her?"

"Last we saw, she was asking Bump if today could count as extra credit," said Gus, staring at Luz.

"Perché?" asked Danielle, wondering why Amity would want such extra credit.

"Well, I can't wait to see you in action next time we sneak in," said Luz, not noticing Willow wincing behind her.

"Uh, about that. You're kinda, sorta..." said Gus, pulling out two wanted posters of Luz and Danielle. "Banned."

"Che cosa? Perché?" said Danielle, gripping her wanted poster, sadly looking at it without noticing little lightning sparks coming off her hands before heading inside the house. "I need… need to take… take a shower."

"Danielle… hoo," said Hooty, seeing Danielle head upstairs before turning to stare at Luz. "Did something happen?"

"Yeah," said Luz, gesturing everyone inside. "It's a long story."
