I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC and any other OC's that will appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Sixteen

A new day started, a celestial event that happens once a year is today. After having a hearty breakfast, the girls are in the living room. Danielle was thinking of a new idea for her light magic, while Luz was reading the fifth volume of The Good Witch Azura to King.

"Azura, Hecate began. Our paths have crossed only in battle," said Luz, reciting a line from the book while standing on the couch. "But today I stand before you seeking an ally."

"Luz, please stop standing on the couch," said Danielle, looking at a notebook she procured from her bag to write down ideas. "I don't want you to fall and hurt yourself."

"She's also getting all swooning again," said King, seeing Luz swoon over her book.

"I can't help it. Azura is able to befriend everyone," said Luz, staring at her book. "Even her biggest rival. I wish I had that kind of power."

"Rivals are meant to be annihilated, not befriended," said King, before wagging his tail. "Now keep reading. I've been sucked into your awful fandom."

"Depends on the kind of rival they are," said Danielle, before jotting down an idea. "Maybe a prismatic sword or something similar to Renamon's Diamond Storm."

"Okay," said Luz, before reading another entry from the book. "Suddenly the door swung open."

"Ding-dong. Ding. Hoot! Hoot!" said Hooty, swinging the door open only to startle everyone, Danielle sending a spike of light magic at him. "Ouch!"

"Sorry Hooty," said Danielle, gasping at what she had done. "I did not mean to… oh, boy."

"The book has come to life!" shouted King, standing up on the couch. "Burn it!"

"Luz," said Danielle, seeing Luz go to the door before standing. "Did someone leave something?"

"Hmm?" said Luz, staring down and seeing a basket.

"Please don't tell me…" said Danielle, staring down at the basket. "Someone left their kid here."

Taking the basket to the kitchen, Luz places it on the table. King hops up onto the table tying a bib around his neck. Staring at the basket, everyone wonders what's inside.

"Eda, you got a package," said Luz, seeing a tag attached. "It looks like a gift basket."

"Probably an offering," said Eda, looking at the basket. "Ah! Being the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles has its perks."

"It's a little baby," said Danielle, seeing King pull the blanket down revealing a sleeping bat like baby before thinking. "Wait, the energy feels much like Owlbert's. Is it a palisman?"

"Mm," said King, rubbing his paws together. "Fresh meat."

"No, not eating that," said Luz, walking away from the basket.

"King!" said Danielle, glaring at King. "You will not!"

"Weh…" said King, scared of Danielle's glare.

"Witches eating babies is so 1693," said Eda, staring at the sleeping baby. "What is this?"

"There's a note," said King, grabbing the note. "Take care of my child till morning. Yi Yi."

"Nope. Babies are awful," said Eda, giving a thumbs down. "Not happening."

"You used to be a baby at one point," said Danielle, looking at Eda.

"Point taken," said Eda, crossing her arms over her chest.

"You will be handsomely rewarded. X-O-X-O-X-O-X. Bat Queen," said King, reading the rest of the note.

"Bat Queen?" said Eda, seeing King take out some coins from within the basket. "Reward?"

"Who's the Bat Queen?" asked the girls, staring at Eda.

"She's the wealthiest demon on the Boiling Isles. Get in with her and you're set for life," said Eda, picking up one of the snails. "So, we keep this thing alive for a few hours and we get paid. Pfft. Easy."

"Shouldn't be that hard," said Danielle, staring at the little baby. "I helped raise my nephew."

"Nephew?" said Luz, staring at Danielle.

"Yeah, Christina is older by seven years," said Danielle, mentioning her older sister.

"I can see it now," said Luz, before remembering something. "Wait, I thought she lived in another state."

"She had Jonathan before moving to California," said Danielle, remembering the event. "It's complicated."

"Our greatest adventure yet!" said Luz, grabbing Danielle's hands. "Learning about love and life through a child's eyes."

"And lots of sleepless nights at the beginning," said Danielle, remembering those nights.

"Not you two. You have to return the books I checked out from the library," said Eda, summoning some books that landed in the girls arms before they walked to the backdoor before whispering to King. "I don't want them getting a cut of the loot."

"Good thinking," said King, whispering back.

"Now, let's take a look at this little darling," said Eda, taking the blanket off the little baby before it started shrieking. "Argh!"

"Oh, boy," said King, going stiff and falling backwards.

"On second thought, maybe we could use your help!" shouted Eda, covering her ears from the shrieking bat baby.

"Well, I better get to the library!" said Luz, halfway out the door before closing it. "Got to go! Bye!"

"Addio!" said Danielle, being the first one out. "There's some mashed fruits in the fridge in case needed."

"We got this, right?" said Eda, only for the bat baby to fly out of the basket and into her face. "Whoa!"

Walking through Bonesborough, the girls head straight towards the library. Moving out of the way of Shorter Prisoner, who was carrying a huge book, the girls stare at the library before them in awe. More so with Danielle when she saw the library.

"You won't be able to get me to leave," said Danielle, entering the library and staring around the place. "Bellissima! Maestosa!"

"Whoa!" said Luz, before seeing the books in her arms and Danielle's arms glow green and start going towards one of the librarians. "Huh?"

"Late. Late," said the librarian at the desk, checking the books through a red spell circle before grabbing a certain one and checking it. "Coffee, grass and bloodstains? These are Eda's, aren't they?"

"Huh," said Luz, nervously. "That was a crazy night."

"I'd say," said Danielle, sighing before looking around at the nearby books. "Ooooooh."

"I'll put them on her tab," said the librarian at the desk, summoning a scroll and writing on it before pointing at a nearby poster. "By the way, we're closing early for the Wailing Star meteor shower."

"Meteor shower!" said Danielle, excited.

"Ooh," said Luz, staring at the poster than at the librarian. "What's that?"

"You're in a library," said the librarian at the desk, rolling the scroll and it disappearing. "Read a book."

"Do you have any more of those posters?" asked Danielle, staring at the librarian.

"Here," said the librarian at the desk, procuring one and handing it over.

"Grazie!" said Danielle, grabbing the poster. "I'm hanging this in my room alongside Eda's wanted poster."

Seeing that she was alone, Danielle looks around before spotting Luz. Seeing that Luz was about to feed some growling card catalogues a piece of gum before it spat out some cards at her. Shaking her head, Danielle gears Luz towards another area of the library. Heading up a set of steps, the girls notice a bunch of books flying about in a certain pattern. Grabbing a book, Luz is pulled off the balcony. So was Danielle when she tried to help Luz.

"Whoa!" shouted Danielle, screaming alongside Luz only to be silenced by some people on the first floor. "Scusa!"

"Sorry," said Luz, apologizing as well.

After finally landing on the first floor thanks to Danielle conjuring her wings and floating them down, the girls notice a few people looking at crystal balls. Though the crystal balls were much like computers back in their world. Funny cat videos, how to videos, and the ever-annoying loading screen that won't move an inch.

"This place is amazing," said Luz, rounding a corner.

"I'd say," said Danielle, looking at all the various books, trailing her finger over the spines of the books as she walked before seeing one that caught her eye. "The Unauthorised Boiling Isles History. Interesting."

"What do you think you're doing?" said Amity, in a nearby room.

"I've been caught. Pretend to be a book," said Luz, straightening into a pose before hearing kids giggling and walking over to where she heard them. "Wait."

"Now that's a new sight," said Danielle, seeing Amity read to a bunch of kids.

"We're your friends and we wanna help, said the Tin Boy with a yelp. Otabin smiled and paced the floor. I've never had real friends before," said Amity, reading an entry from a child's book.

"I think I want to check that book out eventually," said Danielle, liking the part that was read. "Don't care if it's a child book, it sounds like a good read."

"Amity reading to kids?" said Luz, sneaking into the kid's corner of the library.

"Then we'll be your first, the Chicken Witch clucked. Otabin couldn't believe his luck. So, Bookmaker Otabin surrounded by friends, bound a book of friendship and that's the end," said Amity, finishing the book and closing it.

"Amity seems so...nice and smiley," said Luz, hiding behind a small shelf of manga. "Maybe I can befriend her like Azura befriended her rival."

"That all depends on Amity," said Danielle, bending down and checking out the manga. "Now let's see what types of manga they have here."

"Goodbye, Miss Amity," said a young red demon resembling Warden Wrath, hugging Amity. "Thank you."

"Whoa!" thought Danielle, hearing the kid's voice. "That's a kid's voice? Voice cracking will not be kind when it hits."

"Thank you, Braxas," said Amity, patting his head. "See you next time."

"Yay!" said Braxas, running away back towards the entrance of the library.

"Ugh!" said Amity, spotting the girls after Braxas left. "You."

"Amity..." said Luz, standing and leaning on the book shelf before tumbling a bit. "Whoop. Reading to kids. Wow. Looks like this sour lemon drop has a hidden sweet center."

"It's for extra credit," said Amity, picking up the book that fell. "Don't get your leggings in a bunch."

"How much extra credit do you really need?" asked Danielle, staring at Amity. "I had all the credits I needed one year and only had to stay for half a day for half the year."

"I highly doubt our schools are alike," said Amity, walking to the back of the room. "Only trying to help," thought Danielle, sighing before going back to looking at the manga. "Now where's the yaoi or bl ones?"

"Hey, I could help with the kids. We could take turns reading," said Luz, before changing her voice to sound robotic. "And do voices. I do the best monster voice."

"Humans!" shouted Amity, slamming down a pile of books before looking at Luz. "Do you see me going to the Owl Shack and bugging you while you... fry up owls?"

"Not on my repertoire," said Danielle, still looking at the manga. "And never will."

"Okay, I don't really know what you do there, but every time you two come near me, I get in trouble. Just leave me alone," said Amity, staring at Luz.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry," said Luz, backing away.

"And the moment I thought Amity was turning over a new leaf," thought Danielle, watching the interaction between the two before following after Luz. "She proves otherwise."

"So much for befriending rivals," said Luz, bumping her forehead with her fist as she walks out of the kid's corner.

"You gonna let her get to you like that?" said a male's voice, in front of the girls.

"Who are you?" asked Luz, staring at the one who talked plus another next to him.

"Well-wishers on a mission," said the Teen Witch Boy, holding a bunny lunchbox.

"A noble quest," said the Teen Witch Girl, leaning on the Teen Witch Boy.

"Watch this. Hey, Mittens," said the Teen Witch Boy, gaining Amity's attention and holding up the bunny lunchbox. "Mom says stop forgetting your lunch. And stop being a jerk to your friends."

"They are not my friends," said Amity, stalking over and grabbing her lunchbox.

"Yay…" thought Danielle, curling in on herself. "Knew it. I can't make friends here."

"Yeah, makes sense," said the Teen Witch Girl, leaning on Luz. "They seem too cool for you."

"I am?" said Luz, staring at the Teen Witch Girl.

"Me… cool?" said Danielle, staring at the Teen Witch Girl. "I'm not so sure about that."

"Hello beautiful," said the Teen Witch Boy, about to kiss Danielle's hand only for her to pull back her hand.

"Not happening," said Danielle, walking behind Luz.

"You can leave now," said Amity, walking back into the kid's corner. "All of you."

"So, you're the humans we've heard so much about," said the Teen Witch Boy, walking around the library with the girls after leaving the kid's area.

"I'm Emira. And this is Edric. We're Amity's older siblings," said the Teen Witch Girl, introducing herself and her brother to the girls. "We heard how you embarrassed her at the school and at the witch covention last week. No wonder she hates you two."

Emira was taller than the girls. Has pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, a mole under her left eye, and long, emerald, green hair that is tied in a braided ponytail. Wore the illusion track Hexside uniform with flat black shoes. Small gold earrings and a pearl necklace.

Edric was a hint taller than Emira. Has pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, short emerald-green hair, and a mole under his right eye. Wore the illusion track Hexside uniform with gray boots.

"I don't want her to hate me," said Danielle, rubbing her arm. "You two twins?"

"Yup," replied Edric, winking at Danielle.

"Ugh," thought Danielle, mentally facepalming. "I don't need this while I'm here."

"I know. But, uh, I didn't mean any of it," said Luz, staring at Emira and Edric. "I thought we were as cool as cucumbers. But we're as sour as pickles."

"Don't waste your time with Mittens. Me and Ed, we're way more fun," said Emira, leading the girls to a different area of the library. "Follow us."

Turns out their way of fun was pranks. Edric wipes away the "Non" for nonfiction off the board confusing a librarian that was leading a group of patrons around. Then, Emira magically keeps switching a certain book around before Edric does it to two librarians, only to confuse the one librarian again. Danielle was not enjoying what the twins thought of as fun. Later, Edric blows dust off a book towards the demon decimal system, which all sneeze, showering the area with notecards.

"Can we please stop?" asked Danielle, picking up the notecards. "I'm not enjoying myself here."

"Come on," said Emira, leaning on Danielle. "Loosen up."

"I think your definition of fun is way different from mine," said Danielle, pulling away from Emira. "This… this is not right in my eyes."

"Hey!" shouted Amity, spotting the girls and her siblings, standing next to a librarian.

"Wait," said the librarian from the front desk, looking around for his fellow librarian. "Where's Gary?"

"Coming," said the librarian that was being teased by the twin's pranks, sobbing. "Nooo!"

The librarian at the desk had gotten tired of hearing about the pranks that were being pulled. Pushing the girls and the twins towards the front doors, the librarian pushes them out.

"You've made reading far too fun," said the librarian at the front desk, before slamming the doors shut. "Now, stay out."

"But… but," said Danielle, staring at the library doors before hearing the others laugh. "Are you guys happy? Cause I'm not."

"Come on. Loosen up," said Emira, staring at Danielle. "No one got hurt."

"That one librarian fell off that ladder," said Danielle, crossing her arms over her chest and looking away. "So yeah, someone did get hurt. And I didn't like seeing it."

"Do you even know what fun is?" asked Emira, staring at Danielle.

"Not seeing anyone get hurt," replied Danielle, leaning against a pillar.

"Amity's even madder at me now," said Luz, catching her breath. "I didn't think that was possible."

"No, when Mittens gets mad, she looks like this," said Edric, inhaling sharply, grunting as his face turns red before exhaling. "Whoa, I almost passed out."

"Facile lì," said Danielle, making sure Edric didn't fall. "Non farlo se ti rende così. Inoltre, non dovresti prendere in giro Amity in quel modo."

"What?" asked the twins, staring at Danielle.

"Nothing," said Danielle, looking away.

"You're pretty fun, human," said Emira, staring at Luz before nodding alongside Edric. "So, hey, we're coming back tonight. There's a certain book we forgot to... check out."

"I bet if we just apologize," said Danielle, looking at the twins. "They'll let us check it out."

"And bonus, rumor has it the Wailing Star's supposed to unlock some rare magical event," said Edric, staring at Luz. "You in, friend?"

"Eh?" said Danielle, staring at Luz and the twins before looking down before thinking. "Luz is the one making friends. Not me. Does Aster even count as one? Why is it so hard for me to make friends?"

"Sure," replied Luz, staring at the twins.

"Great. Meet back here at midnight," said Edric, walking away with Emira and waving goodbye. "See you, Luz."

"Bye. This is great. First, I befriend the siblings then I befriend Amity," said Luz, squealing before running off.

"Great," said Danielle, sighing before walking back inside the library. "I'm going to apologize. It's the right thing to do."

"Phew!" said Amity, hiding behind a pillar while listening to her siblings and the girls before getting mad and almost passing out. "Almost passed out."

After apologizing to the librarians, Danielle left and caught up with Luz. Walking back to the house, Luz wonders what the twins wanted to show her. Danielle although kept silent on the way back. Meanwhile, Eda and King were still dealing with the baby bat crying. Eda had her ears plugged by her detached hands, fingers in her ears while King had pillows taped around his head.

"It's been hours," said King, staring at the crying baby bat on the couch before looking at Eda. "How can it keep screaming?

"Ugh. I hate it too, pipsqueak," said Eda, reattaching her hands. "But think about the money."

"No amount of snails is worth this torture," said King, falling off the couch and onto his back. "Make it stop."

"I can't believe I'm about to do this," said Eda, picking up the baby bat who just stopped crying before rocking it back and forth in her arms. "Rock, rock. Maternal gesture."

"I just had the best day. Cool teens like me," said Luz, entering the house alongside Danielle. "Call me a library book 'cause they were checking me out."

"How's the babysitting going?" asked Danielle, seeing the baby bat in Eda's arms.

"Aw, Eda, you look so motherly," said Luz, staring at the scene in front of her.

"Say that again and I steal your tongue," said Eda, glaring at Luz.

"Have you tried the mashed fruits I left in the fridge?" asked Danielle, looking at Eda. "The little one could have been hungry."

"Must not have heard you over it's crying," said Eda, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

"I'll get it then," said Danielle, walking towards the kitchen.

"Aw. How can you say that around this cute little baby?" asked Luz, repeatedly poking the baby bat before it woke up and barfed up a smaller version of itself as does the other one, leaving two extra babies in their care. "Whoa!"

"Oh mio!" said Danielle, coming back from the kitchen with the bowl of mashed fruits and a spoon, watching the baby bats flying around with one breathing fire, everyone dodges out of the way.

Sighing, Danielle places the bowl down on the coffee table. Slowly walking towards the smallest one of the baby bats, Danielle gently cradles it in her arms before sitting on the couch and spoons some of the mashed fruit in it.

"Come on, piccolina. Here comes the choo-choo," said Danielle, the small baby bat chirping and looking at the spoon of mashed fruits. "See, it's good."

"Wow," said Eda, watching Danielle feed the small baby bat like it was nothing. "She's good."

"Whoa," said King, dodging the other two, who flew close to Danielle, curiously.

"There's enough for all of you," said Danielle, spooning some to the other two baby bats, who chirped in delight.

For the next fifteen minutes, Danielle was able to handle the babies faster than Eda and King. After making sure the baby bats were feed and burped, they cuddled right next to Danielle, as the others stared flabbergasted at the sight.

"I can't believe you wrangled them in so easily," said Eda, staring at Danielle.

"It's been a while," said Danielle, placing the baby bats side by side in the basket before covering them up. "So, I'm a little rusty."

"A little?" said Luz, staring at Danielle.

"Kid," said Eda, staring at Danielle. "You're going to be a fantastic mother in the future."

"Hehehe, grazie," said Danielle, feeling a little embarrassed. "Though I have to find Mr. Right first."

"Right then," said Luz, going towards the door. "Well, I have to go. Gonna have some fun."

"Wait up Luz," said Danielle, walking towards the door before turning around. "I'd put the remainder back in the fridge for now."

"Okay," said Eda, watching the girls leave. "Have fun."

Though not too long later, after the girls left, the baby bats woke up and started crying again. Flying around the living room, Eda and King stare as the babies just wreck the room.

"Uh, for, for the money?" said King, looking at Eda.

"For the money," said Eda, before dodging some green liquid one of the baby bats spewed at her and King.

Night time finally arrived as the girls waited at the library. Luz is pacing next to a pillar, wondering when Emira and Edric would show. Danielle was leaning against a pillar watching Luz just pace around.

"I'm sure they'll be here," said Danielle, wondering when the two would show. "They wouldn't leave us hanging, would they?"

"Gotta be cool. Cool? No. Cool," said Luz, trying to act cool and failing.

"Keep going," said Emira, near a pillar watching Luz.

"Huh?" said Luz, startled and seeing Emira and Edric.

"This is fun to watch," said Emira, leaning against a pillar.

"How long have you been there?" asked Danielle, staring at Emira and Edric.

"Long enough," said Edric, staring at Danielle. "Though we invited Luz. No offense but you… don't seem as fun as Luz."

"But…" said Danielle, disheartened and looking at the ground. "I thought…"

"Sorry," said Emira, a little mockingly. "But…"

"Well, I'm here now," said Danielle, turning away from them, secretly wiping away a tear. "And I won't leave without Luz."

"So… uh," said Luz, trying to change the subject. "How do we get in?"

"Easy," said Edric, bringing out a piece of paper and handing it to Emira. "It says no trespassing but I'm allergic to the rules."

"And dairy," said Emira, embarrassing Edric.

"Wow, okay," said Edric, staring at Emira. "Just expose me."

"Wow!" said the girls, seeing the paper glow when placed against the lock and expanding it.

"Come on," said Edric, walking through with the others behind him.

"Standing in a dimly lit lobby," said Luz, staring around at the library. "You guys know how to party."

"Un po' inquietante," said Danielle, staring around before looking at the stained-glass window at the front of the lobby. "Bellissima."

"There," said Edric, pointing at the stained-glass window. "The Wailing Star!"

"Così bella," said Danielle, staring in wonderment when the Wailing Star pass by, illuminating the stained-glass window, only to hear some little kid crying in front of her. "Huh…?"

"Waaahaaahaaa," cried the Little Kid, sobbing on the floor. "Why can't I find you? Where are you? Waaahaaaa!"

"Guys, there's a little kid here," said Danielle, seeing that Luz and the twins were nowhere in sight before staring back and walking towards the little kid before bending down. "Hey, it's okay. Everything's going to be okay."

"Huh? Who…" said the Little Kid, backing up. "Who are you? Ho-How are you able to see me?"

"What do you mean?" asked Danielle, staring at the little kid. "I see you just fine."

"But-but-but-but how…" said the Little Kid, staring at Danielle.

"Calm down please," said Danielle, sitting down in front of the little kid. "I won't be able to help if you don't calm down."

"Okay," said the Little Kid, taking slow deep breaths and calming down slightly. "My name is Rune and I'm known as the Wailing Star here in this realm. I'm trying to find a certain someone that was last seen here."

Rune was a little boy, a little taller than Aster. Had short platinum blonde hair pulled into a low ponytail, and deep blue eyes with white sclera. Has light skin with a pale blue blotch that eclipses the right side of his face, giving the left side the appearance of a crescent moon shape, a light blue teardrop under his left eye, and his left hand being light blue as well. Attire was a high neck long sleeve shirt that was emerald on the right side and a light mint on the left side with the sleeve's cuffs being emerald on the left sleeve and emerald on the right sleeve. It had a gold trim on the hem, around the neck and down the front of the shirt. There was a lighter emerald sash around the hip area and emerald pants. Shoes were emerald as well with a gold hem. Had a necklace with a light blue teardrop shaped charm with a darker blue seven-point star in the center.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Danielle," said Danielle, scooting a little closer. "Maybe I can help."

"I don't know," said Rune, looking away. "If I can't find him this year, I'm giving up."

"Now don't say that," said Danielle, wiping a tear off Rune's face. "Do you remember where you last saw your friend?"

"It's been hundreds of years ago during the war against the titans," said Rune, wiping his nose with his sleeve. "I remember hearing his siblings saying that they were glad that he was sealed away."

"Cosa? Perché dovrebbero pensarlo?" asked Danielle, not liking what was told. "Aspetta... sigillato? Era una tavoletta con sopra una falce di luna?"

"Yes…" replied Rune, before staring at Danielle in confusion. "How'd you know that?"

"I've been having a lot of out of body experiences and remembering them when I wake up," said Danielle, lightly scratching her cheek. "The friend you're looking for, is their name Aster?"

"Yes! Yes!" replied Rune, smiling brightly. "That's him! That's him! Where is he?"

"The Emperor's Castle," replied Danielle, staring at Rune. "Though where in there, I don't know."

"This is great! I finally found him!" said Rune, twirling around in the air. "Well, actually, you found him. But still, this is great."

"I'm glad I could help," said Danielle, smiling before hearing laughter. "What are they doing?"

"Sounds like they're having fun with my magic," said Rune, going towards the source of the laughter.

"What do you mean?" asked Danielle, staring at Rune.

"See the books glowing," said Rune, gesturing to the books around them. "Open them and they become reality for a bit till you close the book. I'm still trying to get that power under control."

"Fascinating… eh?" said Danielle, only for a snowball to hit her in the face. "Pfft… yeeah, they're definitely having fun."

"What's this area?" asked Rune, staring at the kid's corner. "Why's it separated from the rest of the library?"

"This is a kid's corner," replied Danielle, walking into the area. "It's dedicated to providing services for children. The goal is to entertain and educate children through joyful play and a love of books. It even offers story times, book clubs, reading incentive programs, and other activities for children."

"I've never been to a library that had one of these," said Rune, picking up a book. "Not even back home."

"Not all libraries have them," said Danielle, rubbing the top of Rune's head.

"You're really nice," said Rune, a slight blush on his face. "Wanna read a book together?"

"Sure," said Danielle, bending down and sitting next to the manga section.

As Danielle was reading the book that Rune was holding, Luz and the twins were still playing around with the books. Snowballs were flying here and there between the three. Meanwhile, back at the owl house. Eda and King had hid behind the couch which was turned over.

"What silences children?" asked King, before staring at Eda. "What if we invent a TV network for ages six to eleven…"

"That's insane. Aah, there's only one way out of this," said Eda, taking a knife out of her hair before slicing an apple ad grabbing a book. "Apple slices and story time. All right, brats. Let's do this. Ugh. Being parental is making me sick."

While Eda was reading the book to King and the three baby bats, back at the library Luz was hiding from the onslaught of snowballs from the twins. Seeing Luz in the kid's corner with them, Danielle sees Luz pick up the Otabin book. Opening it, the character Otabin stares up at Luz with a smile.

"Otabin spend his days alone amongst the many books he'd sewn. With needle and thread...," said Luz, reading the entry in the book while Otabin looks at her. "The pages he'd mend. But all the while he longed for a friend."

"Sounds much like Aster," said Rune, hearing the story. "I want to be his friend but I don't think he can. What with his family and all."

"I think he would be glad to have you as a friend," said Danielle, standing up and rubbing Rune's cheek. "As for me, well… I didn't really have friends outside my family. It wasn't easy for me."

"Luz, check this out," said Edric, entering the kid's corner with Emira before giving a slight wave to Danielle.

"Danielle…" said Rune, seeing Danielle getting depressed and gripping the book.

"Look what we discovered," said Emira, opening a book called Quacks Eats Snacks, before the duck came to live and happily swam about, quacking all the while.

"Aw," said Luz, staring at the duck. "Cute little quackster."

"I don't get it. What did you…" asked Danielle, only to see Edric draw in the book, giving the duck buff human legs that instantly appeared on the duck before them. "Oh mio... perché lo faresti?"

"They-they just desecrated that book," said Rune, getting mad. "No one desecrates a book in front of me."

"Whoa, Rune, slow down," said Danielle, stopping Rune. "We can just erase it when they're done with it, okay."

"I come from a long line that values books and their knowledge," said Rune, staring at the twins with an angry glare. "I can't let this pass."

"Now he's extra cute," said Emira, laughing before closing the book. "Your turn, Luz."

"Luz, don't…" said Danielle, only for Edric to cover her mouth before glaring at him.

"I don't know," said Luz, backing away from the twins.

"Come on," said Edric, offering his pencil. "Don't stop the fun."

"I can't do it," said Luz, sighing.

"Let me help," said Edric, grabbing Luz's hand and drawing scary claws and angry expressions on Otabin before it slowly started to rise out of the book.

"I don't wanna see it," said Luz, closing the book.

"Okay, I think you had your fun," said Danielle, staring at the twins. "Now let's clean up whatever mess there is before we leave."

"Killjoy," said Emira, looking at Danielle before walking away.

"Cosa..." said Danielle, glaring at Emira, her eyes flashing white momentarily.

"Whatever. We didn't come here just to doodle," said Edric, grabbing Luz's hand and following after Emira. "Come on."

"Danielle, I have to do something about this," said Rune, staring after the twins. "I can't let this slide."

"I wouldn't even know where to start," said Danielle, before hearing growling. "Wait… was that? Oh mio!"

"This is not good," said Rune, seeing a demonic Otabin in front of them before it stared at Rune. "It spotted me! Whoa!"

"Rune… aaah!" shouted Danielle, dodging a swipe from Demon Otabin while moving Rune out of the way. "What do you mean he spotted you?"

"If spotted by any from books, if they're like Otabin here is now…" said Rune, flying away from Demon Otabin. "They can absorb my magic or even consume me and become real permanently."

"A friend I have sought," said Demon Otabin, looking at the two. "A friend I will caught."

"That's not good," said Danielle, grabbing Rune and running down the halls in the library.

Running down the many halls within the library, Danielle and Rune dodge Demon Otabin. Getting a little too close for comfort, Demon Otabin was able to grab Rune and absorb some of his magic making him feel faint. Gasping, Danielle blinds Demon Otabin by tossing an orb of light at him. Grabbing Rune, Danielle conjures her wings and flies high, hoping Demon Otabin wouldn't reach them. Gaining sight back, Demon Otabin climbs the bookshelves and jumps after them. Swiping his claw, Demon Otabin grabs Danielle's leg before swinging her into a bookshelf.

"Ow," said Danielle, holding Rune close to her before staring at the approaching Demon Otabin. "Rune, go. I'll hold him off."

"But," said Rune, staring at Danielle, seeing her eyes flicker between white and her usual hazel green color. "Huh…?"

"Please Rune," said Danielle, producing a bunch of orbs of light before her. "I'll hold him off as long as I can."

"Okay," said Rune, backing away slowly before steeling himself and flying away from the area. "I'm sorry Danielle."

As Rune flew away from the area, Danielle sent two of the orbs straight at Demon Otabin, blinding him. Putting her hand straight into one of the orbs of light, Danielle was able to form it into a smallsword. Gripping the smallsword, Danielle gulps before running towards Demon Otabin and slashes at him. Grabbing the smallsword, Demon Otabin lifts Danielle up before throwing her to the side. Grunting when hitting the bookshelf, Danielle sees Demon Otabin head in the direction Rune flew to.

"You will not," said Danielle, her hazel green eyes going white and wings being conjured on her back. "You stay away from Rune!"

Flying towards Demon Otabin, Danielle slashes one of his claws off and grabs it before flinging it straight at Demon Otabin's forehead. Growling in pain, Demon Otabin crashes into the nearby bookshelf before pulling the claw out of his forehead and reattaches to his finger. Staring at Danielle, Demon Otabin charges at Danielle, swiping at her, leaving a slight scratch on her left cheek. It was at that moment, that Demon Otabin grabs Danielle and flings her straight towards the area where Luz and Amity were talking at.

"Amity, wait," said Luz, walking after Amity.

"First you embarrass me. Then you wanna be my friend?" said Amity, staring at Luz. "I don't get you. Pick a side."

"Please, just listen to me," said Luz, grabbing Amity's arm.

"Just go away before things somehow get worse," said Amity, before Danielle crashed into the bookshelf behind them. "What the…"

"Danielle!" said Luz, running over to Danielle and helping her up. "What happened?"

"Otabin is what happened," said Danielle, before spotting Amity. "Amity?"

"Otabin?" said Amity, confused before Demon Otabin grabs her from behind. "What did you do?"

"I did nothing," said Danielle, gripping her smallsword in place. "It was your brother that drew over Otabin's picture and made him into this."

"With claws and fangs and breaking bones, I found a friend to make my own," said Demon Otabin, staring at Amity before running down the hall.

"Luz!" shouted Amity, staring at the girls. "Danielle!"

"Amity!" shouted Danielle, running after Demon Otabin before looking back at Luz. "Luz, is everything okay?"

"Amity. Huh?" said Luz, staring at Amity's diary before her. "I think I know what to do."

Meanwhile as the girls were planning, Rune was still in the library flying about. Looking here and there, Rune was wondering how Danielle was faring against Demon Otabin. Sighing, Rune hears laughter outside the library. Looking through a window, Rune angrily spots the twins. Flying towards the twins, Rune snaps his fingers, the twin's bodies slump to the ground.

"Hahaha, did you see Amity's face back there?" said Emira, not knowing what happened.

"It never gets old," said Edric, before noticing their bodies on the ground. "Uh, Emira…"

"What?" asked Emira, Edric pointing at their bodies. "What's going on?"

"You're outside your bodies, that's what," said Rune, the twins turning around and spotting him. "If you think you're getting off scotch-free, you're crazy."

"This is not funny little boy," said Emira, glaring at Rune. "You can't just…"

"I'd watch your mouth mortal," said Rune, his eyes gaining a slight glow and flying above the twins. "You desecrated books in front of me, the Wailing Star, and you think you can get away with it. Do you even know what's going on back there at this very moment?"

"The Wailing Star!" shouted the twins, staring at Rune in bewilderment before being lifted by Rune's magic. "Whoa!"

"If it wasn't for Danielle," said Rune, staring straight into the twin's eyes. "I've would have acted ages ago."

"So… uh… you want us to fix what we did… right?" said Emira, scared. "We can do that."

"Just put us back in our bodies," said Edric, just as scared. "And we'll erase the stuff we drew in the books."

"I have a better idea," said Rune, going back into the library. "Follow me."

Gulping, the twins follow Rune back into the library, flying over the bookshelves. Meanwhile, the girls enacted their plan. Luz drew a picture of herself as Azura before the drawing encased her, leaving her in Azura's clothes, with staff in hand. Purple clouds billowed out towards the area where Demon Otabin was sewing Amity into a book. Conjuring a few orbs of light, Danielle sent them into the purple cloud blinding Otabin in the process while Luz jumped forward and struck Demon Otabin away.

"Azura?" said Amity, gasping and staring at Luz.

"Close," said Luz, pulling her hat up. "Is it drawn okay? I kind of interpreted the descriptions."

"Not the time," said Danielle, using her short sword to cut the thread binding Amity. "Think you can bind him with your magic so we can get the book?"

"Can do," replied Amity, conjuring a spell circle, abomination goo acting like ropes.

Gaining his sight back, Demon Otabin dodges out of the way of Amity's attack before striking at Luz and closing the book that had her drawing in it, leaving Luz looking like herself again. Inhaling deeply, Demon Otabin releases a loud roar, sending the girls and Amity down the hall and into a bookshelf. It was that loud roar that Rune and the twins heard and headed towards that direction. Staring down at the scene below, the twins gasp as Demon Otabin approaches Amity and the girls.

"We didn't mean for this to happen," said Emira, watching Amity bind Demon Otabin down before he wrangled himself lose. "We only wanted to teach her a lesson."

"A lesson…" said Rune, staring at Emira. "For what?"

"She had gotten too full of herself," replied Edric, wincing when he saw Luz pinned to a bookshelf. "She kept tattling on us when we cut class."

"She needs to learn not to mess with people like that," said Emira, gasping when Amity was pinned down as well. "So, we found her diary here."

"And then we were going to post the pages all around school for everyone to see," said Edric, whooping when Danielle slashed Demon Otabin away.

"You two okay," asked Danielle, helping Luz and Amity up and flying herself, Luz and Amity on top of a bookshelf before spotting Rune and the twins. "Cosa?"

"You're family," said Rune, staring at the twins.

"It's tough love," said Emira, staring at Rune. "She needs to learn to lighten up."

"And yet," said Rune, glaring at the twins. "What you did almost cost you your family. I'm still trying to figure these powers out. I don't know what to do should Otabin there binds them completely to the book. You would lose your sister completely. Do you want that?"

"No," replied the twins, staring at Amity.

"Good," said Rune, only to be grabbed by Demon Otabin when he jumped towards them. "Aaaah!"

"Rune!" shouted Danielle, charging forward and slashing at Demon Otabin when he was about to eat Rune. "Lascia andare Rune!"

"Danielle…" said Rune, being held by Danielle and feeling faint.

"We can help," said Emira, staring at Rune. "Let us go back to our bodies."

"I don't want to lose my little sister this way," said Edric, staring at Demon Otabin. "I have a little plan. We need as many Snowballs, A History for it."

"Then go," said Rune, staring at the twins.

"Let's go," said Emira, flying back to her body alongside Edric.

"Danielle!" shouted Luz, seeing Demon Otabin behind Danielle. "¡Cuidado!"

"Aaaaah!" shouted Danielle, Demon Otabin slashing her wings and her falling down towards the ground.

"Danielle!" said Rune, checking Danielle's wings and seeing her in pain. "No no no-no-no!"

"Danielle…" said Amity, her and Luz checking on Danielle before seeing Demon Otabin jump down towards them. "Aah!"

"Amity!" shouted the twins, opening as many of the books they found when running towards Amity and the girls, pelting Demon Otabin with snowballs.

"Emira?" said Amity, being pulled into a hug by her siblings. "Edric?"

"We'll explain later," said Emira, before looking at Demon Otabin. "First, let's get that book."

"I have an eraser right here," said Edric, holding an eraser in his hand.

Not liking being pelted by snowballs, Demon Otabin inhales deeply again and roars loudly, sending everyone flying into various bookshelves. Edric had lost the eraser in the process when Demon Otabin roared. Grabbing his needle and thread, Demon Otabin sends out multiple threads towards everyone, entangling them and pulling them towards him and a big book.

"You squirm and fight, and scream and shout," said Demon Otabin, pulling everyone closer. "But friendship always will win out."

"Huh…" thought Luz, seeing the eraser and grabbing it before Demon Otabin grabbed her.

"Luz!" shouted everyone, seeing Demon Otabin about to thread Luz to the book.

Gripping the eraser, when Demon Otabin was distracted by mending her to the book, Luz erased the parts that Edric put on the picture. Once the parts were erased, Demon Otabin was back to normal. Staring around at what he did, Otabin untangles everyone from the threads.

"I'm so sorry," said Otabin, taking the thread off Luz. "I don't know what came over me."

"Hey, it's okay," said Amity, holding Otabin. "We're still friends."

"Let's all go home," said Emira, staring at everyone. "It's been a long night."

"Agreed," said Danielle, wincing when pulling her magic back into her. "Ow."

"Danielle," said Rune, looking at Danielle. "Are you okay?"

"I will be," said Danielle, wincing still. "I think I need to sleep this off."

As everyone leaves the library, Luz lends the fifth Azura book to Amity. As the girls parted ways with the Blight siblings halfway through, the girls finally reach the owl house. Walking through the door, the girls notice Eda and King sleeping with the baby bats snuggled against them.

"Hi, guys. We're…" said Luz, yawning alongside Danielle before seeing Eda ad King sleeping with the baby bats. "Home."

"Ding-dong!" shouted Hooty, opening the door.

"Hooty!" said Danielle, looking at Hooty before seeing someone huge enter the house. "Mamma mia."

"Whoa," said Luz, seeing the huge person before them. "You must be Mama."

"Yi Yi. Mama is I. And I is the Bat Queen," said the Huge person, before whistling.

Turns out the huge person was Bat Queen. A large, pale, somewhat vampiric fanged head with batlike wings and legs connected to it. has a pointed chin, long, somewhat unkempt dark hair ending in a widow's peak, small pointed brows, dark purple lips, and hot pink eyes with white sclerae. Her wings are purple, with claw-like spurs atop them. She possesses talons with four dark purple claws, one of which opposes the others.

"Hehehehe," said Danielle, when the baby bats nuzzled her before settling into Bat Queen's hair.

"Aah! Snuggle dumplings," said Bat Queen, before regurgitating a treasure chest and an Aztec death whistle. "For troubles. Eda is old one."

"Addio," said Danielle, waving goodbye to Bat Queen and the baby bats before hearing Eda stir awake.

"Ah. Sweet babies," said Eda, finally awake and seeing the baby bats gone. "Babies? Where are the babies?"

"Their Mamma picked them up," replied Danielle, watching Luz gesture with her hands.

"Oh," said Eda, looking sad. "And I just taught Junior how to pick locks too."

"Really," said Danielle, too tired to even ask. "I just want to shower then sleep."

"Your night looks very successful. Look at all that money you made. And look at this cool whistle that scary woman gave you," said Luz, picking up the Aztec death whistle. "I'd wash it before you use it."

"Most definitely," said Danielle, yawning.

"Yeah," said Eda, Luz putting the whistle in her hands while stilling looking sad. "We did it all for the money."

"I miss my babies," said King, hugging Eda.

"You've really grown attached to them," said Danielle, stroking King's back. "Haven't ya?"

"Sì," replied King, hugging Danielle.

"I actually got you something from the library," said Luz, taking a book titled Coping with Empty Nest Syndrome from her messenger bag and handing it to Eda.

"Thanks, kid," said Eda, chuckling. "So, how was your night?"

"Tiresome by the end," replied Danielle, stretching. "I'm gonna go shower than hit the hay. Buona notte."

"Good. Then bad," said Luz, watching Danielle head upstairs. "Then maybe good?"

"Hey, you wanna hear about my night?" asked Hooty, squeaking the door open.

"Ugh," said Luz, covering her ears. "No!"

"No!" replied Eda, staring at Hooty.

"That's not a thing anyone ever wants," said King, glaring at Hooty.

After having showered and everyone was in bed before her, Danielle yawns as she walks into her room. Only thing, she had noticed Rune in her room staring around the place.

"Huh…" said Danielle, walking towards Rune. "Rune, what are you doing here?"

"I… uh… I just wanted to make sure you were okay," replied Rune, twiddling his index fingers.

"I am fine," said Danielle, sitting on her bed. "How'd you find me?"

"You have a very peculiar magic signature I was able to sense," said Rune, staring at Danielle. "You said earlier you had out of body experiences. Is that how you met Aster?"

"Yes," replied Danielle, covering her mouth when yawning. "He has really helped me with my magic."

"Let me come with you this time," said Rune, confusing Danielle. "I can follow you when you sleep. We just have to hold hands for it to work. I've read about it."

"You sure," asked Danielle, staring at Rune.

"Positive," replied Rune, looking at Danielle. "I want to see Aster again."

"Okay," said Danielle, laying down and pulling her blanket over her.

"Thank you," said Rune, laying down next to Danielle and holding her hand.

"Buona notte," said Danielle, falling asleep while rubbing Rune's hand.

"Buona notte," said Rune, smiling before drifting off to sleep as well.
