I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC and any other OC's that will appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.
Chapter Eighteen
It has been a few days since the Owl Beast tried to attack Aster and hurting the girls. Since then, the girls injuries were tended to but have been a little wary of Eda going Owl Beast again. Turns out, only Danielle could really hear Aster's voice. Today was just another day at the market selling things.
"Weh!" said King, trying to grab a flag above the stand. "Stupid flag!"
"Luz, what are you doing?" asked Danielle, hearing giggles on top of her head. "Eda said for us to take it easy."
"It's been a little slow around here, but I've got just the thing to attract customers," said Luz, placing a ladder in place and hanging a wooden sign before tapping it and activating the light glyphs on it. "And who doesn't like their name in lights?"
"I don't think Eda is gonna like this," said Danielle, feeling a paw lightly tap her head and holding back a laugh. "Hehehe, Aster."
"I'm liking this game of hide and seek," said Aster, pretending to be a hat on top of Danielle's head before peeking and seeing the sign. "Is that supposed to be Eda?"
"Not something Eda would do," said Danielle, staring at the winking face of Eda on the sign. "Are your eyes still seeing me like when I'm visiting you at the crossroads?"
"Yes," replied Aster, pawing Danielle's hair. "It hasn't changed since I've taken this form. I can see everyone else normally but not you. Why is that?"
"I don't know," replied Danielle, wondering herself. "There's got to be some reason."
"Is it too subtle?" asked Luz, staring at Danielle.
"Does subtle mean ugly?" asked a Hexside Potion Student, standing near the stand with two others.
"Hi, Boscha! Hexsidians!" said Luz, turning around before gesturing to the merchandise behind her. "See anything you like?"
Boscha is a female witch around the same age as the girls. Has a slender figure with light pink skin, grayish-blue eyes, and mid-back length violet hair tied back in a bun. Has an extra third eye on her forehead and pointy ears. Was wearing the Hexside uniform with the sleeves and pants being yellow, with dark grey heeled boots.
"Ew! No," replied Boscha, before summoning a purple scroll and taking pictures. "I'm just here to take an ironic Penstagram next to your weird flashing trash sign."
"Just to let you know," said Danielle, staring at Boscha. "By taking pictures of the stand, you're kinda promoting us."
"Ugh, delete then," said Boscha, deleting the photos before looking at Danielle. "What are you going to do? Spit your human venom on me?"
"You have venom?" said King, staring at the girls. "Quick, Luz, Danielle, start melting faces!"
"Humans don't have venom," said Aster, giggling. "I wouldn't recommend using magic to do it. It tastes disgusting."
"Gotcha," said Danielle, petting Aster.
"Even if I could, it's not worth it," said Luz, bending down. "You wouldn't understand how to handle teens like her."
"No, I'll show you what to do," said King, grabbing Luz's hood before jumping onto the table. "You will tremble before me!"
"Oh, he's so cute!" said Boscha, grabbing King and taking pictures. "How much? I have to own him."
"King is not for sell," said Danielle, grabbing King.
"How dare she!" said Aster, growling cutely.
"You couldn't afford me, sister!" said King, only to hear Boscha and the other two to aw at him. "That's the incorrect reaction!"
"I smell an easy mark," said Eda, sniffing before jumping out of the tent. "Hey, kid! Can I offer you the latest fashions from the human realm?"
"Whoa," said Danielle, staring at the clothes Eda magicked onto herself.
"Yeah, no," said Boscha, laughing as she and the other two left the area.
"Well," said Eda, changing back into her normal clothes. "I hate her."
"Yeah, teens can be sour, but me and Danielle are little sweeties," said Luz, making Danielle slightly blush before pointing at the sign. "Look what I made you!"
"Luz!" said Eda, noticing the sign and taking it down.
"I got this end," said Danielle, the sign tilting in her direction.
"Did I spell something wrong?" said Luz, staring at Eda. "Or did I spell something right?"
"Stop that. You may be forgetting something, Luz. I'm kinda…" said Eda, wiping the lights away before holding up her wanted poster. "On the run! Remember? Every guard in town would be at my doorstep if I had my name in lights."
"I don't want to see you arrested," said Danielle, backing away from Eda when noticing some feathers poking forth from her arms. "Oh no."
"Well, I don't see anyone right now," said Luz, looking around before looking at Eda. "Maybe you're just being paranoid. You're a powerful witch. Why hide when you can poof all your problems away with magic?"
"Magic can't solve everything," said Danielle, sighing.
"What does Luz know about problems, anyway?" said King, walking on the stand. "All she has is dumb teen drama! She doesn't understand how hard some of us have it."
"You're pampered all day like a dang baby," said Eda, staring at King. "How hard is that life?"
"Well, I don't know if you realized, but I'm not a baby!" said King, shouting the last part.
"King's being too loud," said Aster, flattening his ears more. "These ears are more sensitive than I thought."
"Then why are you screaming like one?" said Luz, staring at King.
"My life is a living nightmare!" said King, shouting still.
"King, can you lower your voice, please?" asked Danielle, feeling Aster curl in more. "There are people with sensitive hearing here."
"Sorry," said King, lowering his voice.
"That little beret is Aster, isn't it?" asked Eda, staring at Danielle and seeing Aster's ears perk up. "I can tell. The Owl Beast is itching to get out."
"I still can't believe you were able to make a pact," said Luz, twirling about. "I can't wait for that to happen when I fall asleep."
"When are they going to stop thinking that?" asked Aster, his ears perking up. "I'm not some spirit summons like Origin and Loke."
"I keep telling ya," said Danielle, looking at everyone. "It's not a pact. And I'm not gonna stop interacting with Aster cause of the Owl Beast."
"Well, there's only one thing to do when friends can't see eye-to-eye," said Eda, rubbing her hands together.
"Hug each other till we pass out?" said Luz, pulling King into a hug.
"Talk it out," said Danielle, wondering what Eda actually had planned.
"Fight to the death!" said King, shouting his suggestion out.
"King…" said Danielle, feeling Aster cover his ears with his paws and whimpering. "Lower your voice please."
"Pfft, no," said Eda, before pointing and crossing her arms. "Body swap!"
"Are you sure you don't shoot venom?" asked King, staring at Luz.
"I'm not so sure about this," said Danielle, backing up.
"I love a good body swap," said Eda, smiling. "It's like demonic possession with the ones you love."
"I want to swap with King," said Aster, staring at King. "I want to know what it's like as a titan."
"We're doing that? That's possible?" said Luz, before picking up a VHS tape. "This is just like my favorite early 2000s movie! Freaky Fraturday. But maybe we should think about this for a second."
"You mean Freaky Friday," said Danielle, staring at Luz.
"Nope," said Luz, showing Danielle the VHS. "Freaky Fraturday."
"Huh…? But…" thought Danielle, grabbing the VHS. "I don't understand."
"Danielle…" said Aster, seeing Danielle looking sad while looking at the VHS. "Stai bene?"
"It's okay," replied Danielle, rubbing Aster's head. "Nothing for you to worry about."
"Body swap!" said Eda, twirling her staff.
"Ooh!" said Luz, seeing a curtain of yellow light pour down over everyone.
"Eep!" said Danielle, feeling the magic pull her into someone else body. "I feel funny."
"Did it work? I need a mirror," said Luz, running into a mirror before seeing she was in Eda's body, her eye color in place of Eda's eye color. "Found one. Oh, my gosh. It worked! I'm so old and pointy!"
"I kinda feel like whenever I leave my body," said Danielle, lifting her hand only to see a paw instead. "Oh mio! Aster, I'm in…"
"Danielle," said Aster, grabbing ahold of his actual self and seeing hazel eyes in place of his before grinning. "Hehehe."
"Aster, what are thinking?" asked Danielle, seeing her actual self with azure eyes and the left side of her face being a light blue that eclipses the left side of her face, giving the right side the appearance of a crescent moon shape and three small, dark blue stars on her left cheek, before Aster started petting her. "Ooooh, so good… behind the ear. Sì, sì, proprio lì."
"You're always petting me in this form," said Aster, petting Danielle more. "Now you can have the pets this time. Hehehe."
"Hot dog! It's me!" said Luz, seeing her body but with her hair slicked back and her eyes looking like King's eyes and a fang pointing out of her mouth.
"Yeah, it is. I'm the human now," said King, seeing his reflection in the mirror. "Bow before my massive, meaty hands!"
"Wait, so that means..." said Luz, before hearing Eda clear her throat and everyone looking at her on the table.
"How do I look?" asked Eda, posing in King's body, the right fang being gold and Eda's eye color in place of King's eye color.
"I've got some..." said King, staring at Eda. "Very confusing emotions right now."
"I feel like playing with that tail," said Danielle, watching Eda swish her tail.
"All right, here's the deal. Whoever can prove their new body has the easiest life gets out of house cleaning duty," said Eda, staring at the girls and King. "And you know what that means."
"Hooty makes it hard to clean him," said Danielle, shuddering alongside the rest.
"How hard is it to clean Hooty?" asked Aster, staring at Danielle. "Just splash him with water magic. Oh right, I haven't taught you water magic yet, have I?"
"Nope," said Danielle, popping the p at the end before seeing feathers popping more on Eda's body now. "Aster, I think we need to run."
"Why?" asked Aster, before hearing groaning and seeing feathers pop out more on Eda's body. "Oh."
(Aster's Rush and Crash)
Running away from the stand, Aster and Danielle end up near the slayground. Catching his breath, Aster looks around while Danielle pawed his face gently. Unfortunately, the two didn't anticipate a strong wind spell blasting Danielle off of Aster's shoulder and far away from him. Turning around, Aster spots Lilith.
"Well, that's dealt with," said Lilith, grabbing Aster's arm. "You're coming with me to see the emperor."
"No way," said Aster, pulling his arm away. "You just blew my friend away. I am not going with you."
"This isn't a request human. Or do you want me to knock you out," said Lilith, staring at Aster before he blasted a light spell, blinding her. "Aah! You impudent…"
"You can't tell me what to do," said Aster, levitating himself in the air and away from Lilith. "Byeeeee!"
"You can't evade me forever," shouted Lilith, seeing Aster fly away. "Tch, looks like the girl is getting steadily stronger."
Flying through the sky, Aster peers around for Danielle. Looking here and there, Aster does not find her. Landing after a bit, Aster spots what looks to be a bunch of people signing up for something.
"What's this?" asked Aster, staring at the sign-up sheet and a long table that people were sitting at.
"An eating contest," replied Poe, handing the sign-up sheet to Aster. "Out eat all the others and win a year long supply of ice scream."
"This is great! I can't eat in that animal form but I can now," said Aster, grabbing the sign-up sheet. "Sign me up!"
Signing his name… well, Danielle's name, Aster sits at the long table before a bowl of ice scream was placed before him. Rubbing his hands, Aster starts to scarf it down the moment the bell screamed. Eating one bowl after another, Aster is steadily beating the others. After fifteen minutes have passed, Aster is giddy from all the sugar from the ice scream.
"And we have a winner," shouted Poe, raising Aster's arm up. "Danielle the human!"
"Yay! Yay! I won!" shouted Aster, jumping up and down before his picture was taken. "What was that for?"
"So, we can put it up and know when you come in for your year long ice cream," replied Poe, walking away. "After a year, we'll take it down and place it among the pictures of prior champions."
"Oh, okay!" said Aster, twirling around and away from the contest sight.
Afterwards, Aster comes upon the slayground again. Staring around, Aster flies about. Casting magic here and there, and playing on the various equipment. By the end of playing around, Aster wasn't feeling so good and laid down on a bench, groaning and holding his stomach.
"I don't feel so good," said Aster, covering his mouth before being levitated towards someone. "Huh…"
"Really think you can get away human. I have my ways…aah!" said Lilith, grabbing Aster's arm before he ended up puking on Lilith's dress. "Look what you done. This is dry clean only."
"I want Danielle," thought Aster, whimpering before magicking himself away.
Appearing near where Eda's stand was, Aster looks around for Danielle. Nowhere in sight could Aster find Danielle. Aster had to stop a couple of times to empty his stomach. Hearing Eda nearby, Aster slowly spots everyone minus Danielle. Looking around, Aster sees that Eda, King, and Luz are back in their original bodies. Spotting Aster, Eda shakes her head when noticing the ice scream stains around his mouth.
"Come on," said Eda, mounting her staff alongside King and Luz while pulling him in and letting him cling to her. "Best thing for you to do is fall asleep and bring Danielle back."
"What? Is Danielle…" though Aster, figuring out where Danielle was before puking on Eda's dress.
"Aah!" said Eda, pushing Aster away slightly. "This was dry clean only."
"I want Danielle!" thought Aster, sniffingly and whimpering.
(Eda's Catastrophe)
"Luz! Reign it in, reign it in!" shouted Eda, grabbing Luz's hair and staring at her.
"That was awful," said Luz, gasping and bending over. "Alright, Owl Beast tamed."
"Looks like crisis averted since Aster and Danielle ran away for safety," said Eda, staring in the direction those two went before looking at Luz. "You good?"
"I'm good," said Luz, stretching before looking at Eda. "Eda, don't be too mad when your inventory's gone and the guards are none the wiser."
"Life as a teen is a tyrant's dream!" said King, staring at Luz. "By the end of the day, I'll be ruling over your feeble demographic."
"Yeah, you're fine," said Eda, looking at Luz before hopping off the table. "If you need me, I'll be getting pampered on a vacation fit for a king."
"My life's not a joke! But yours is," said King, poking Luz's nose. "Bap."
As Eda walks down the street away from the stand, she grabs a pair of sunglasses from another stand and poses. Passerby's compliment her cutely as she passes by. A coven guard stops her.
"Stop right there!" shouted the Coven Guard, a leashed four headed dog staring at her.
"An emperor's guard," said Eda, seeing the four headed dog growl and sniff.
"Thought you could get away with it, didn't you?" said the Coven Guard, staring at Eda.
"Wait, you know who I am?" asked Eda, tilting the sunglasses.
"Of course, I do. You're..." said the Coven Guard, before taking out a lollipop. "The cutest little angel I've ever seen! Who wants a lolly?"
"Ha! That's more like it. You got nothing!" said Eda, tossing the sunglasses and taking the lollipop before taunting the dog before walking away. "Being King is a walk in the park. I'm gonna win this bet for sure. Wha…"
"Oh, Dottie!" said an Elderly Woman, staring down at Eda. "Look at this lost little dumpling!"
"What's that?" said Eda, before being picked up. "Whoa! Hey, I'm not lost, you creeps!"
"Poor baby!" said the Elderly Woman, staring at Eda. "Do you need us to make you a delicious meal?"
"No, I don't need you…" said Eda, only to get some belly scratches. "Tummy scratches? Ooh. You know what? Maybe I am lost. Take me away, ladies."
As the two elderly women walk down the alley, with Eda in tow, they come across a café. Two cat like demons play in the window display as a young demon is painting an ad on the window. Walking inside, Eda sees various customers and demons playing with various cat like demons, only one looking most like a cat in a purple tuxedo shirt with a green bow.
"Welcome to our kitty café," said the Elderly Woman, showing Eda the café. "This is our little safe haven for cherubs like you."
"Ugh..." said Eda, staring around. "What hot mess is going down here?"
"You see, precious cargo like you should be taken care of. Boop!" said the Elderly Woman, booping Eda's nose. "All you should have to worry about is how many belly rubs you want or how much tasty num-nums you're gonna eat."
"Well, my creep alarm is ringing, but I can't argue with num-nums," said Eda, after being placed in a crib and handed a cupcake. "Probably not as good as Danielle's."
"This place is a safe place. A place clean from the outside world. And those teenagers who filthen it," said the Elderly Woman, pointing at a sign reading NO TEENS A-MEOW-ED before walking away. "You have a good nap, my dearest. And welcome... to your new home."
"Ha! Oh, being adorable is the life," said Eda, tossing the cupcake before closing her eyes. "Time for a nap."
"Leave this place!" said the Bowtie Cat, startling Eda before grabbing her by the collar. "Danger is near."
"Baby demon!" said the Elderly Woman, coming through a door with something in her hands. "We have a surprise for you!"
"You hear that, Bowtie?" said Eda, pushing Bowtie Cat away. "There's a new star in town."
"A gift for our new, cutest demon," said the Elderly Woman, holding out a bee costume.
"Okay, I'm out," said Eda, crawling out of the crib and walking away. "Novelty costumes are where I draw the line."
"Dottie, please help our little angel get changed," said the Elderly Woman, while Dottie shrieks and stops Eda from leaving. "Oh, no, sweetie. You can't survive out there without us."
"Ladies, stand back. I am not above disrespecting my elders," said Eda, twirling her finger for a spell circle only to remember and sigh. "Oh, dang. I'm not a witch right now."
"No, baby," said the Elderly Woman, reaching for Eda. "You're a cutie patootie."
"Not today, sister!" said Eda, running past the two elderly women.
"No!" shouted the Elderly Woman, seeing Eda head for a certain door.
The one elderly woman, Dottie shrieks and runs after Eda. Reaching the door, Eda slams it shut in time and moves a chair below the handle. The elderly woman and Dottie, bang against the door in vain.
"Let us in this instant!" shouted the Elderly Woman, banging against the door. "It is not time for you to be there."
"Stop babying me!" shouted Eda, before seeing what was in the room, she was in. "This vacation just took an alarming, back‐alley turn."
"Tasty num-nums," said a Catlike Demon, rocking back and forth while Eda waved her hand in front of it.
"Don't bother," said Bowtie Cat, startling Eda. "Their minds are tragically gone. They've been coddled so long, they forgot how to live on their own. Their brains turned to mush."
"Geez, I thought I liked being babied. But I feel so small and helpless, like some sort of... baby. But that won't happen to us, right?" said Eda, staring at Bowtie Cat seeing him succumb to being coddled. "I failed you, Bowtie. My closest ally."
"Meow. Meow," said Bowtie Cat, rolling his face into the floor right as the elderly women banged down the door, Dottie used as a battering ram.
"I'll avenge you, Bowtie!" said Eda, picking up Bowtie Cat and throwing him at the elderly women before spotting an escape path where there was light and running towards it. "Ooh! Huh?"
"Oh, wonderful! Now everyone can see our bestest baby..." said the Elderly Woman, seeing Eda in the display area before seeing something come their way.
"Eda!" shouted Danielle, magically going through the window and striking an attack pose. "Back off!"
"Danielle," said Eda, seeing Danielle's tail split in five and growling. "Whoa, she's pissed."
"Oh Dottie," said the Elderly Woman, staring at Danielle. "Look at this precious cutie."
"I said…" said Danielle, conjuring an element at the end of each tail, fire and wind on the left while water and earth on the right and light in the middle. "RECEDERE!"
Danielle sends the elements straight at the elderly women, who end up dodging but not without consequences. The customers are scared out of the café by Danielle's attack. The little café ends up singed in various areas. Slash marks from the wind littered the café. Clods of dirt and plant matter dirty the café. The elderly women slip on the wet floors. The light blinds everyone within and out of the café. By the end, Danielle is breathing heavy before collapsing with a whine.
"Danielle!" shouted Eda, crawling out of the display area and grabbing Danielle before seeing the elderly women stare in their direction. "Oh no."
Lifting Danielle up, Eda heads back in the display area in time. Placing Danielle against a pillow, Eda watches as Danielle breathes heavy. Turning around, Eda sees the elderly women not staring at her but at Danielle in interest. Eda protectively covers Danielle with her body.
(KING'S BRUSH WITH DEATH)
"Weh! Not so high and mighty anymore," said King, down a different road and grabbing one of the flags before throwing it to the ground. "I feel so alive!"
King ends up losing his balance when posing and falls into a nearby trashcan. Trying to get out, the bottom comes loose and King pokes his head out. A water balloon splashes near him with tentacles coming out of the water.
"Oh, no!" shouted King, getting the trashcan off him and backing away. "The flag, it seeks revenge."
King ends up hearing laughter nearby and spots the two other Hexside students that were with Boscha. Turns out they were tossing water balloons around the vicinity. King crawls over their way before spotting a shack with signs reading Treasure Shack on it. King sniffs the curtain before peering inside and spotting Boscha and another Hexside student just hanging out in the shack.
"Just give up," said Boscha, scoffing as a Male Oracle Student does flying sit-ups.
"I swear, I can do a sit-up," said the Male Oracle Student, groaning. "I'm just having a bad day."
"Sure, you can," said Boscha, taking pictures with her scroll.
"I'll show Luz how to rule over these doofuses," said King, before entering the shack. "Greetings! Er... Greetings! Bow before your king of humans."
"Hey, nobody tells me what to do," said the Male Oracle Student, before falling.
"Shut it," said Boscha, scoffing at the Male Oracle Student.
"Sorry, Boscha," said the Male Oracle Student, apologizing.
"New post: Loser human thinks she can hang out in our sacred Treasure Shack," said Boscha, typing on her scroll while looking at King. "Spoiler alert: She can't."
"Yeah, get out of here, Goody Two-Shoes," said the Male Oracle Student, his sneakers having wings and flying over to King.
"Goody Two-Shoes, huh?" said King, taking the shoes off the Male Oracle Student and placing them on before flying out and grabbing the bag of water balloons. "Hey, impressionable youths! Under my command, you could learn how to do some real damage. Nyeh! All hail, your new teen king."
"I didn't like her telling me what to do before, but now, I love it," said the Male Oracle Student, loving how King tossed the bag of water balloons into town.
"Who wants to revolt with me today?" asked King, staring down at Boscha and the other Hexside students.
"Yay!" said a Female Bard Student, cheering. "You're the coolest."
"We love you now," said the Male Oracle Student, cheering as well.
"I love it!" said a Female Plant Student, flying with the Female Bard Student towards King with the same kind of sneakers.
"Uh, I'll catch up," said the Male Oracle Student, running after them.
"Hold up," said Boscha, staring at the students that were hanging out with her. "I did not give you permission to leave."
"All right, you acne-encrusted hormone buckets," said King, facing the students before him. "Let's go let out some teen angst!"
King leads them back into town and wreak havoc. Finding some people, the Male Oracle student shuffles the facial features of two witches waiting for the bus, making them both scream. A third is seen lowering his newspaper already having a shuffled face before it was corrected by the Male Oracle Student and screaming afterwards. Coming upon a sign reading Self Storage, the Female Plant Student takes off the s and the sto leaving the sign reading Elf Rage that an elf sees.
"Yeah, this sign gets it!" said the Male Elf, ripping off his shirt and punching the sign.
King and the others laugh before having to run when the elf spotted them. Afterwards, King is shushing the others while dialing on a crow phone before putting it in a megaphone. Turns out, Hooty was the one on the other end of the phone.
"Hoot House. Hooty Hooting," said Hooty, his voice being heard and annoying everyone that heard. "Oh, wow. I've been waiting for someone to call all day, and now, it's finally happened! We can talk for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours..."
"I don't know what Luz is talking about," said King, laughing before spotting Boscha before him. "This life is a breeze."
"Enough!" said Boscha, pointing at King. "I don't know why they can't remember what a weirdo loser you are, but I'm gonna help them remember."
"Ooh, I'm so scared. She still thinks she has power over you guys," said King, chuckling before seeing that the others are staring in fear of Boscha. "Guys?"
"Luz, I challenge you to a race... around Dead Man's Curve," said Boscha, pointing at a winding road before pointing at a certain creature nearby. "And we'll be racing on those. Giant ratworms."
"Meh," said King, waving it off.
"You don't have to do this, you know," said the Female Bard Student, staring at King. "We know humans are, like, super fragile."
"Don't baby me!" shouted King, before walking over to Boscha. "Boscha, I accept your strange teenaged, coming-of-age challenge thing."
Moments after accepting the challenge, King, Boscha and the others walked up towards Dead Man's curve. King shoves one of the ratworms to the starting line where Boscha is already sitting.
"On your mark... get set..." said the Female Plant Student, before eating an onion ring, starting the race.
"Let's go! Worm minion, I said go!" said King, seeing his ratworm not moving after Boscha raced down the road before smacking it and it raced down the road faster than what he anticipated. "Stop! I said stop!"
King's ratworm rolls down Dead Man's Curve as King rides it backwards. Boscha takes the turns expertly while King bounces off of them. Despite that, he catches up. Boscha gasps and growls angrily. Boscha faces forward and gasps, pulls her ratworm to a stop. King speeds past.
"Yes!" said King, staring at Boscha. "Say bye-bye to your popularity, Boscha."
"Bye-bye," said Boscha, waving her hand mockingly.
King turns around and sees a caution sign with blinking worms. He yelps and tries to stop his ratworm, but it's too late. He plows into the caution sign and plummets, destroying the Treasure Shack.
"Ow," said King, falling of the ratworm.
"Not the Treasure Shack!" said the Female Bard Student, staring at the downed shack.
"I don't know how to process this," said the Male Oracle Student, staring as well. "Someone tell me what to do!"
"Get her!" shouted Boscha, pointing at King.
"Weh!" said King, running away from Boscha and the others, sliding down the hill and running on all fours.
"Get back here, human!" shouted Boscha, flying after King with the sneakers with wings.
"Luz was right. I can't handle the complexities of teenage life. I just want my body back," said King, before running into a paint can outside the café Eda and Danielle were in.
"I think I saw her go this way," said Boscha, trying to find King.
"Huh?" said King, after running into the café and the lights flicking on.
"Dottie!" said the Elderly Woman, wielding a broom she was using to clean up the place. "A teen has come to steal our little babies."
"No, wait!" said King, dodging the broom. "I am a little baby!"
"No, you're not. You're a rotten teen!" said the Elderly Woman, now holding knitting needles and dragging them over her teeth. "But when we finish with you, you'll be calling for your mother."
"Lady, I just want my body back," said King, standing near the display area.
"You can have it. Your life is pretty terrible," said Eda, still protecting Danielle while wearing the bee costume. "But, hey, it'll probably be over soon."
"What's wrong with Danielle?" asked King, seeing Danielle breathing heavy before disappearing before his eyes. "Danielle!"
"Danielle!" shouted Eda, before groaning. "Ugh, Aster is going to have to bring her back from his realm."
(Danielle's ?)
After the wind spell had blown her away from Aster, Danielle is spinning in the air before landing in a trashcan. Shaking her head, Danielle spots a water fountain nearby. Jumping out of the trashcan, Danielle flies towards the water fountain. Letting the water wash the dirt and garbage off, Danielle spots a bunch of children coming her way. The children grab her and start petting her all over and pulling at her. Having enough of it, Danielle flies out of their grasp and away from them.
"My goodness! Maybe I should cut back on how much I pet Aster in this form," said Danielle, before bumping into someone and then being grabbed. "What the? Braxas!"
"Daddy! Daddy, look," said Braxas, showing Danielle to his father. "Can we keep him? I'll take very good care of him."
"Warden Wrath!" shouted Danielle, seeing that Wrath was Braxas's father before flying away. "Heck to the no!"
Flying away as quickly as possible, Danielle spots a café nearby. Peering in the window from a distance, Danielle notices Eda running towards the display area. Not liking what she was seeing when two elderly women were trying to run after Eda, Danielle flies through the window.
Opening her eyes slightly every once in a while, Danielle sees the elderly women had finally grabbed Eda and dressed her in the bee costume. Scrambling out of their arms, Eda runs back into the display area and protects Danielle, licking a lollipop on occasions. Eda tries to get Danielle to take some of the lollipop but with no success. Hearing a voice, Danielle slightly opens her eyes once more and spots King, who was dodging a broom attack from the elderly woman. Closing her eyes, Danielle feels herself fade.
Opening her eyes, Danielle sees she's no longer at the café but the crossroads. Looking around, Danielle notices she's now the shadow form of Aster. But apparently the suns and moons designs were gone, replaced by the sparkly design that she saw on the Young Lady. A symbol was on her forehead, the same symbol she has seen before. Seeing the tablet, Danielle goes through it. Looking around, Danielle, spots a tiny abomination grabbing some papers.
"What are you doing?" asked Danielle, trying to grab the abomination. "Thou shall not steal."
"Collector, what is going on?" shouted Philip, slamming the doors open and entering the room.
"Oh… um…" said Danielle, seeing the tiny abomination sneak out of the room unnoticed. "Hehehe."
"Hello there Light," said Dark, moving out of Philip and towards Danielle, scaring her. "My my, what an interesting turn of events?"
"Wait… does this mean?" shouted Philip, noticing the symbol on Danielle's forehead and coming to a conclusion. "Somehow a body swap must have happened. I would have preferred seeing you up close and personal Lord Light."
"Lady. Lady, Philip," said Dark, seeing Danielle move away before grabbing her arm. "Not so fast."
"Lasciarsi andare," said Danielle, trying to get free. "Lasciarsi andare."
"What in blazes?" said Philip, before yelling and raising his hand. "English, child!"
"My my, quite effective," said Dark, seeing Danielle stiffen when Philip was raised his hand. "Now then, stay still."
"St-Stop! Stop it!" shouted Danielle, Dark grabbing her head and touching the symbol on her forehead. "Smettila, fa male!"
"It wouldn't be much fun if you never awaken," said Dark, hearing Danielle scream and trying to get free. "Can't do much while you're like this but this will have to suffice. It will be even more excruciating when I get my hands on your actual body."
Tears forming in the corners of her eyes, Danielle changes her fingers into claws and slashes at Dark. Shrieking in pain, Dark grips his arm before seeing Danielle scramble into the tablet.
"You really think escaping there will help you," shouted Dark, whirling around the tablet before appearing at the Crossroads. "You're wrong."
Gasping, Danielle looks around before looking at the prison. Staring back at Dark, Danielle makes a run for the prison. Dark intercepts her at various turns. Spotting the gold circle at the front of the prison, Danielle makes a U-turn, making Dark crash into one of the slabs that floated around the prison. Catching her breath after entering through the gold circle, Danielle spots Aster's body. Slowly floating closer, Danielle finally gets a good look at Aster.
Aster was a young boy around the age of eight. Has tan-yellow skin, short bushy white hair and eyebrows, and a large light blue blotch that eclipses the left side of his face, giving the right side the appearance of a crescent moon shape. His left leg was also a light blue. Attire was a robe with an oversized collar and sleeves, with it being split between dark blue on the right and periwinkle-gray on the left. The sleeves have these colors switched, with the right sleeve being periwinkle with blue suns and the left sleeve being blue with periwinkle crescent moons, as well as a magenta border on the rims of the cuffs. Wears a dark purple nightcap with magenta trim and light star-esque spots, dark blue shoes with light gray pom-poms on them, and a light pink pendant with a purple crescent moon face around his neck. Danielle could see from the back of his neck, his hair colored like the galaxy, much like his mother's hair.
"Oh Aster," said Danielle, gently rubbing his cheek. "I promise to get you out of here."
"You may be safe for now but you can't run away forever," shouted Dark, not able to get in the prison. "Deny it all you want but it doesn't change anything. You are who you are. That mortal name you have means nothing in the grand scheme of things."
"What is he talking about?" said Danielle, seeing Dark leave the crossroads before pondering what he meant. "No, he's wrong. I'm me, and no one else."
"Tch! Damn girl is naïve and foolish," said Caius, within Danielle's mind. "Wake up already, damn it! We all want this to end!"
"Caius, that's enough," said a Female's voice, within Danielle's mind, who she recognized as Ru-chan. "She already has enough on her plate."
"Pfft. Damn girl was a mistake," mumbled Caius, before being whacked upside his head. "Ow! Damn it, Hikaru… Aethyr, nice to see you… wait, wait I didn't… Aaah!"
"He never learns," said Hikaru, shaking her head. "I wonder if any of the others are available."
"What is going on?" thought Danielle, rubbing her head.
"It's alright child," said a Male's Voice. "You can hear me, can't you? We've met plenty of times in your dreams when you were young and still to this day."
"Yes, I can hear you," replied Danielle, looking around. "Where are you?"
"Me and the others are a lot closer than you think," said the Male Voice, being ever so nice. "My name is"
"Uh… wait, I didn't quite catch that," said Danielle, listening for the name. "I-I-I didn't hear it."
"Looks like you still can't hear my name," said the Male Voice, a gentle tone to his voice. "It's alright, you'll hear my name eventually."
"Wait… wait! Who are you? What's going on?" asked Danielle, before hearing nothing, sighing before rubbing Aster's cheek. "Oh Aster. Something's going on and I don't know what it is."
(Luz's Deals in Heels)
"Whew! Okay, let's try this again. And strut, strut, strut," said Luz, trying to walk with Eda's heeled shoes only to fall against a box and breaking a lamp. "How does Eda wear these all day? Oh, no. What have my heels done? Wait a second. I'm a ding-dang witch!"
Seeing the broken lamp, Luz tries and fix it, only for the spell to send her blasting in the air. Grunting, Luz spots a pair of oven mitts nearby.
"Boy, Eda is powerful. Not again!" said Luz, magic coming from her finger before placing the oven mitts on. "Okay, let's try this one more time. I made magic with my hands!"
"Ooh, so unnecessarily extravagant," said a Customer, spotting the lamp fixed by Luz only for it to be not the actual lamp but a mishmash sort of lamp. "I'll take it."
"Zippo swappo. Sold to the savvy shopper. Okay, magic hands, let's see what else we can magically magic," said Luz, having the lamp follow the customer magically before snapping her fingers producing a giant neon sign and spotlights appear at the stand and wearing a hat. "Step right up and feast your eyes on the marvels of the human realm!"
"Oh, what is this?" said Customer #2, seeing the stand.
"Where did the other stand go?" asked Customer #3, looking around for the original stand.
"Your lights are too bright, and I forgot what I came here for," said Customer #4, the lights blinding him.
"Was it for laughter?" asked Luz, magicking a feather duster to tickle him.
"Joy! So painful," said Customer #4, laughing before handing a fistful of snails. "I'll take two for my enemies."
The centaur from the first week walks up and points to his blank human face. Luz uses a marker to draw him a face. The centaur cries with joy and piles the table high with snails. A baby wails in a carriage. Luz magics a giant pacifier into its mouth. The baby's parent dumps an entire coin purse onto the table. Various customers leave the stand.
"Thank you! Come again! There's a little something for everyone," said Luz, pointing to herself. "Take it from me, Eda, the Boiling Isles' gift to magic."
"Is that right?" asked a Cloaked Figure, standing in front of the stand. "You're the famous Eda the Owl Lady?"
"That depends. Are you a fan..." said Luz, pulling a bouquet of flowers out of the hat. "Of magic?"
"No, but I am a fan of..." said the Cloaked Figure, taking off the cloak revealing a Coven Guard. "The law."
"Oh, no!" said the Flower Bouquet, wilting and dying.
"We were finally able to catch you in the act," said another Coven Guard, seeing Luz get cuffed while approaching the stand. "All thanks to this little light show of yours."
"Gentlemen, whaddya say we forget this whole thing ever happened? Amnesia spell!" said Luz, looking at the two Coven Guards before magicking a pacifier into one of their mouths. "Haven't quite got the hang of this yet."
Grabbing Luz, the two Coven Guards take her straight to the nearest police precinct. Giving Luz a prison number card, the Coven Guards push her into a room. Staring at the height chart, Luz pouts when her picture is taken.
"This is some of my best work," said a Camera Monster, coughing. "Really captures the shame."
"Yeah, you're going away for a long time, you filthy criminal," said Coven Guard #3, grabbing Owlbert before a cuff is secured on him.
"Owlbert! This is all a big mistake," said Luz, being led into an interrogation room. "You're gonna laugh when I explain."
"Is it really her?" asked Coven Guard #3, seeing someone enter the room.
"Oh, no," said Coven Guard #4, gasping as well. "This is not good."
"Hey, you gotta take that thing out before someone sees you," said Coven Guard #1, staring at Coven Guard #2 who still had the pacifier in his mouth.
"I like it. Calms the nerves," said Coven Guard #2, before seeing the person who entered in the mirror reflection, which was Lilith. "Hmm? Uh..."
"Madame Lilith, to what do we owe this honor?" asked Coven Guard #1, staring at Lilith.
"Word reached me that you captured my sister," said Lilith, staring at the coven guards than her sister in the other room. "I'll take it from here."
"But Madame, she's going straight to the Conformatorium," said Coven Guard #1, holding some papers. "I have the order right here."
"The orders have changed," said Lilith, burning the papers with blue fire.
"Look, guys, you got the wrong Eda," said Luz, staring at a coven guard before seeing Lilith enter the room and approach her.
"Hello, Edalyn," said Lilith, staring at Luz.
"Oh, thank goodness! A familiar face. You're Eda's sister, right?" said Luz, looking at Lilith. "Is it Libby? No. Limby..."
"Your show of affection is touching," said Lilith, staring at Luz. "Do you know why you're here?"
"Well, as I was telling the guard, this is just a classic Freaky Fraturday mix-up," said Luz, looking at Lilith.
"Sister," said Lilith, unfurling a lengthy scroll. "The charges against you are long and many. Operating a stand without a permit, owning a hocus without a pocus..."
"Yeah, I think that list goes on for a while," said Luz, seeing how long the scroll was.
"These charges are serious," said Lilith, staring at Luz. "There's no more running away, Edalyn."
"I know," said Luz, staring away from Lilith. "I can't just poof my problems away."
"But we can. You getting caught was clearly a cry for help," said Lilith, her voice shifting to a lighter tone while holding Luz's shoulder. "Join the Emperor's Coven, like we dreamed about when we were girls."
"Eda wanted to be in the Emperor's Coven?" said Luz, surprised.
"Don't be afraid, sister. Soon, you won't be a danger to those around you," said Lilith, securing Luz to the chair with a ring of light. "Bring out the branding glove."
"The what now? Wait, you're making a mistake!" said Luz, seeing a coven guard put on a set of unique gloves which glows with a red sigil. "I'm not a danger to anyone! Uh-oh."
"First, I lose the human with magic," said Lilith, brushing some smoke away. "And now this. I won't let either escape!"
"Owlbert, come to me! Huh? Ah!" said Luz, Owlbert flying towards her before she magics the cuff away on Owlbert. "Sorry, buddy. Eda's life is more complicated than I thought."
Running out of the police precinct, Luz heads down a certain street. Lilith gives chase with some coven guards.
"Okay, if I were Eda and Eda is King, where would I be?" said Luz, questioning herself while running. "Ah! This thing's so confusing."
"After her!" shouted Lilith, not too far behind.
"Luz!" shouted Eda, grabbing Luz's attention from the display window alongside King. "Bring my dang body over here."
"Eda!" shouted Luz, running over to the display window.
"Oh, look, Dottie. It's not kidnapping if they entered our store. Just think of it as good customer service," said the Elderly Woman, the lamp near them changing due to Luz trying to magick Eda and King out of the café. "Why did our lamp get unnecessarily extravagant?"
"Hi," said Eda, the elderly women seeing her and King escape out of the display window.
"Go, go, go!" shouted Luz, helping Eda and King before running out the door.
"After them!" shouted the Elderly Women, holding up a net while Dottie shrieks.
"What weird stuff did you get my body into?" asked Luz, staring at Eda and King. "And where's Danielle?"
"There she is," said Lilith, spotting Luz, Eda, and King near an alley.
"I got the same question," said Eda, staring at her sister. "Also, Danielle is in Aster's realm. So, we need to find him. And quickly."
"Dang!" said King, noticing Boscha and the other students flying with her. "I forgot about them."
"All right," said Eda, staring at Luz and King. "Did everybody learn a valuable lesson about experiencing each other's hardships?"
"Yep," replied Luz and King, staring at Eda.
"Good, let's end this nightmare," said Eda, grabbing her staff. "Body swap!"
"My body!" said King, lifting the shirt that he was forced to wear in Luz's body being transferred over to his actual body. "My glorious little body!"
"Sister. Time and again I've offered you my help, yet you foolishly run back to your worthless life. I'm tired of trying, Edalyn," said Lilith, getting angry before pointing at Eda. "Your days of running are over! And that human with magic is going straight to Emperor Belos!"
"Thanks, Luz," said Eda, glaring at Luz.
"Sorry," said Luz, staring at Eda.
"Don't worry, I got this," said Eda, twirling her staff around her, Luz, and King, hitting Lilith and everyone else in the vicinity. "Body swap!"
"Eda, you rotten sister!" said Lilith, body swapped with the four headed dog. "Switch me back! Ah!"
Everyone that was swapped ends up fighting amongst themselves. Staring at the scene, Eda spots Aster in the distance.
"Are they gonna be okay?" asked King, staring at Eda.
"Eh?" said Eda, shrugging her shoulders.
"Eda, I just wanna say that things can be more complicated than you think," said Luz, staring at Eda. "But with you guys, it all feels a little less mixed up."
"Aw, that's sweet, kid," said Eda, staring at Luz. "Now, let's never speak of this again."
"What happened to Aster?" asked Luz, seeing Aster walk towards them and spotting the ice scream stains around his mouth. "Never mind."
"Come on," said Eda, mounting her staff alongside King and Luz while pulling him in and letting him cling to her. "Best thing for you to do is fall asleep and bring Danielle back."
"What? Is Danielle…" thought Aster, figuring out where Danielle was before puking on Eda's dress.
"Aah!" said Eda, pushing Aster away slightly. "This was dry clean only."
"I want Danielle!" thought Aster, sniffingly and whimpering.
Owlbert hoots as he unfurls his wings. Everyone who was body swapped clamors as Eda, Luz, and King fly off. The dog, in Lilith's body, howls. Flying in the direction of the owl house everyone wonder how Danielle is doing as night sets in.
"So, wait. Who is going to clean Hooty?" asked Luz, staring at Eda while rubbing Aster's back. "It's getting... dire. Maybe if we all work together we could…
" Not it," replied Eda and King, staring forward.
"Aw, man," said Luz, pouting.
"Danielle…" thought Aster, clinging to Eda. "I want Danielle."
At the owl house, Hooty is rolling around in the mud. Mud is all over the front lawn. And all over the front of the house.
"Guys? Today's my monthly cleaning. Hoot, hoot. I'm 20% mucus, but don't let that stop you," said Hooty, smiling like it was no tomorrow. "C'mon, I have so many hard-to-reach spots that need swabbing!"
