I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC and any other OC's that will appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.
Chapter Nineteen
After arriving back at the owl house, Eda, Luz, and King helped Aster settle in for the night. That meant cleaning the ice scream stains off his mouth, Luz brushing his hair and helping him into as set of pajamas, something to eat to help his tummy, and gearing him to Danielle's bed. Climbing into bed and pulling the blanket close while holding the long cat toy Danielle called Nya-tan, Aster slowly drifts off to sleep. Slowly opening his eyes after a bit, Aster sees he's at the crossroads. Looking around, Aster doesn't spot Danielle.
"Danielle… Danielle," shouted Aster, before having to put his hand over his mouth. "I'm still feeling not so good."
"Aster, is that you?" asked Danielle, hearing Aster outside the prison. "Oh, thank goodness you're here."
"Danielle," said Aster, looking around. "Where are you?"
"I'm… um…" said Danielle, slightly scratching her cheek. "In the prison."
"What?" said Aster, going close to the prison. "Why?"
"Safety reasons," said Danielle, confusing Aster.
"I'm coming in," said Aster, touching the prison, seeing if he can get in and sliding right in. "Ok, apparently, you can actually get in here as well."
"Over here," said Danielle, waving Aster over.
"Danielle," shouted Aster, floating over and hugging Danielle before covering his mouth.
"Whoa," said Danielle, seeing Aster not look so good. "What happened?"
"Too much ice scream. I won you a year's worth of ice scream, sadly I won't be able to eat any more for a while," replied Aster, before looking at Danielle. "You didn't take my cap off, did you?"
"No," replied Danielle, rubbing the top of Aster's head. "Also, you didn't have to win me a year's worth of ice scream."
"That's good," said Aster, before seeing Danielle concerned. "I've been bullied a lot because of my hair."
"Why?" asked Danielle, staring at Aster. "Your hair is pretty. Or is it pertaining to what's covered by your cap? Cause I saw a little bit from the back."
"You saw!?" said Aster, shocked and scared.
"Just a little," replied Danielle, seeing that Aster was looking down. "Aster… are you…"
"Please don't tease me," said Aster, clinging to Danielle.
"Why would I…" said Danielle, getting Aster to look at her. "I don't know what happened for you to think I'd bully you cause of your hair but I wouldn't do such a thing."
"Me and mother are the only ones among our kind that has this hair color," said Aster, thinking back to when he was bullied. "I was bullied a lot because of it. It's the reason why I wear this cap but it still didn't help. The bullies would take my cap off and still tease me. I hated it!"
"Look, I won't take your cap off," said Danielle, leaning her forehead against Aster's forehead. "I'll wait for you to trust me enough for you to remove your cap."
"Okay… huh?" said Aster, noticing the symbol on Danielle's forehead before rubbing his eyes. "My eyes must be playing tricks on me."
"Is everything okay?" asked Danielle, seeing Aster lay his head on her lap. "Are your eyes, okay?"
"I could've sworn I saw Light's symbol," replied Aster, nuzzling against Danielle's lap.
"Light's symbol?" said Danielle, before feeling a prick of pain in the back of her mind.
"Yeah, Light," said Aster, drawing the symbol before them. "It's who my kind worships. It's my kind that first discovered Light and was able to first use light magic. It was the First Star who first used light magic and heard Light. But at one point, the First Star just suddenly vanished. No one knows what happened to them, or if the First Star was even a man or a woman."
"So, this Light person," said Danielle, wincing with every word that was spoke of Light.
"Is very important to my kind," said Aster, Danielle rubbing his head. "I can tell you a little story about Light. I can skip about Dark."
"Dark?" said Danielle, before the painful prick intensified.
"Yeah," said Aster, breathing deeply. "There's a bedtime version for us young ones to help us sleep and also in a way to scare us when the story started talking about Dark. You want to hear?"
"Sure," replied Danielle, rubbing Aster's head.
"Okay," said Aster, thinking of the story his mother told him numerous times. "Here's how it goes."
Long ago before the Big Bang
When there was still nothing
Light and Dark watched over the empty space
At one point
Scarlet Eyes came into existence not long after them
With nothing to do after so long
Scarlet Eyes was able to grab ahold of a little bit of Light and Dark
And the Big Bang happened
New elements came about governed by both Light and Dark
The immortal plane came into existence at that time
The first beings to see Light's symbol were the Stars
After the immortal plane expanded to such a point
The mortal plane came into existence
Scarlet Eyes found fun amongst both planes
Scarlet Eyes took an interest in our kind and nestled within one of our own
But Light and Dark didn't like how it was not governed by either
Or that it nestled within our kind
Seeing that it was doing more harm
Light and Dark descended to the mortal realm
"Why would they descend to the mortal realm?" asked Danielle, rubbing Aster's head.
"Cause despite being nestled within a member of my kind, it was harming the mortal realm somehow," replied Aster, before telling more of the story.
Light
Descend to the mortal realm
Incarnate as many times as you want
Amongst the mortals
Save our Lost Star
Who will you be
For the Final Confrontation
"Sounds similar to Hylia and the various Zelda's to me yet different," thought Danielle, before the pain in the back of her mind intensified. "Ow ow ow-ow-ow-ow!"
"Danielle, are you okay?" asked Aster, seeing Danielle bend over clutching her head.
"He-He-Headache!" said Danielle, cringing before feeling Aster rub her head. "Huh?"
"You always do this for me whenever I have a headache," said Aster, staring at Danielle. "So… I'll do it for you."
"Thanks Aster," said Danielle, gently stroking Aster's cheek. "You really are a good kid."
"Hehehe," giggled Aster, smiling.
"So, this Scarlet Eyes," said Danielle, humming in thought. "Does it change your kinds eye color?"
"Yeah," replied Aster, thinking on the various stories he was told of concerning it. "There are members of my kind that have red eyes but the only way to discern it for sure is looking at the sclera. Our kind has white sclera much like humans. But when Scarlet Eyes is nestled within, the sclera turns yellow after a bit."
"Like jaundice?" asked Danielle, looking up at the prison. "What about this Dark?"
"Yeah, I guess you can think of it like that," said Aster, before sighing. "Dark doesn't incarnate. They kinda seek out misunderstood mortals that are leaning towards a certain path and kinda nestles within them yet not nestles within them."
"Mmmm," said Danielle, thinking about what was told.
"Hey, Danielle," said Aster, leaning into Danielle. "Can we stay like this tonight? All that ice scream really messed me up."
"Certamente," said Danielle, seeing Aster pull her into a hug.
"Eda wants you back so she can place us back into our rightful bodies," said Aster, tightening his grip slightly.
"I kinda figured that," said Danielle, before rubbing Aster's head. "Well, till then, let's take it easy right now."
"You're doing so well with light magic," said Aster, thinking of which magic to next teach. "I can start teaching you another element."
"Are you sure?" asked Danielle, staring at Aster. "I feel like I still have much to learn about light magic."
"Positive," replied Aster, leaning into Danielle's touch. "I was thinking either earth magic or water magic."
"They both sound good," said Danielle, sleep taking over her.
"Hey, Danielle," said Aster, seeing that Danielle had fallen asleep before whispering in her ear. "Can I keep you?"
