I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC and any other OC's that will appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Twenty

It has been a couple days since the body swap. Eda was able to get both Aster and Danielle back in their original body. By then, Aster had started to teach Danielle water magic. The lessons were basically outside in the back since the owl house overlooked the boiling sea. Globs of water were pulled from the boiling sea during some of the lessons, though some were unstable and splattered all over the place. Meanwhile, on this day at Hexside, Gus was having another Human Appreciation Society meeting.

"Behold. The wonders of the human realm. This little fella's one of their most valued objects. It aids in the compiling of printed wisdom, the scratching of gunk from under your nails, and my favorite... It even mimics the sounds of the human ocean," said Gus, holding a paperclip and twanging it. "Aah! The human realm. So beautiful. It's safe to say that the pay-per-clorp is a stunning testament to human ingenuity. Any questions? Ah! Our newest member: Mattholomule."

Matthomule was a young male witch just taller than Gus. A short, lanky teenage witch with beige skin, dark brown eyes, and straight brown hair which is shaved at the sides. Wears the Hexside school uniform with the sleeves and pants being brown, and usually has the hood of the cowl up, and large black boots.

"A-Augustus, is this what the president of the Human Appreciation Society thinks passes as Human Artifacts?" asked Mattholomule, confusing Gus before pushing the items to the side on the table before dispensing his own items. "Because at my old school, we had real treasures."

"So real," said a Female Healing Student, staring at Mattholomule's items. "I… I wanna touch them."

"Go ahead," said Mattholomule, staring at the other members. "In my club, we didn't have any dumb rules."

"Shh. He didn't mean that." said Gus, gasping and turning to the written club rules, rubbing it before grabbing Mattholomule's items out of the other members hands. "Well, this isn't your club. Thankfully."

"Exactly, who thinks I should be president?" asked Mattholomule, staring at the other members.

"I do!" said a Female Potion Student, raising their hand.

"Mattholomule for prez," said the Female Healing Student, staring at Mattholomule.

"I'm an undecided voter," said a Male Bard Student, really thinking about it before looking at the items. "I wanna touch all the objects first."

"These are fakes," said Gus, picking up and really looking at the fake phone.

"What?" said the Female Healing Student, gasping.

"You can't prove that!" said Mattholomule, stammering before inhaling. "You're just trying to distract these human appreciators. You're afraid of getting kicked out of office. It's your word versus mine."

"I don't know what to believe in anymore," said the Female Healing Student, looking at the other members.

"My faith in Gus has been broken," said the Male Bard Student, staring at the other members.

"What if I brought in an expert?" asked Gus, after backing into the chalkboard and seeing an article on the girls.

"Yeah, right," said Mattholomule, staring at Gus. "Who can you find that's a bigger human expert than any of us?"

"How about some real humans?" replied Gus, staring at the other members.

"Why the secrets?" asked the Female Healing Student, staring at the Female Potion Student.

"Show don't tell, man," said the Male Bard Student, staring at Gus excitedly.

"Yeah. Uh-huh," said Mattholomule, staring at Gus. "A-And you've never brought your friend here. Why?"

"Well, they're busy. They've got a job," replied Gus, thinking about the girls. "But I'll bring them in tomorrow. They'll prove I'm right."

"Ah, sure you will, Augustus," said Mattholomule, scoffing. "Sure, you will."

The next day, Gus went to the owl house and talked to the girls. Turns out the girls were helping Eda go through some boxes. Danielle ended up fishing Aster out of one when he cannonballed into it.

"Gus, I'd love to go to school with you, but I don't know how I can," said Luz, holding a smaller box before pointing at her wanted poster that was in the house. "Principal Bump banned me from Hexside."

"Is there a way to get it lifted?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda while scratching underneath Aster's chin, hearing happy coos from him.

"But nothing. Bump did you two a favor. There ain't nothing for you at that dweebus factory," said Eda, staring at the girls than Gus. "No offense, dweebus."

"It's okay," said Gus, staring at Eda. "I come from a long line of dweebuses."

"You're not a dweebus," said Danielle, staring at Gus. "You're a good person."

"Thanks," said Gus, slightly blushing from the compliment.

"Well, I would love to go some day," said Luz, standing up and looking at Eda. "Better than unpacking boxes in the Eda Coven. Right, Danielle."

"I… er… um…" said Danielle, stammering while looking over the living room before looking at Luz. "If the ban was lifted, I would love to tour the school."

"See!" said Luz, pointing at Danielle while staring at Eda.

"Oh, you think you're clever, huh?" said Eda, standing and staring at Luz.

"Ooh!" said King, before jumping off the couch and onto a box. "Fight, fight, fight!"

"No," said Danielle, getting between Eda and Luz, hands raised towards the two with a glob of hot water. "No fighting."

"Whoa," said Luz, backing up towards Gus.

"Good," said Danielle, seeing Luz and Eda stopping before the globs of hot water soared into the ceiling and splashed back down. "Oops. Sorry."

"Uh… Eda…" said Luz, spotting feathers on Eda's body and her one eye going black.

"Oh no," said Eda, seeing her one arm transform completely and about to strike Aster.

"Uh-uh, niente da fare! Se pensi di fare del male ad Aster, hai un'altra cosa in arrivo. Spingerò una lancia di luce così lontano nel tuo..." said Danielle, before remembering Aster could understand and staring at the transformed eye of the Owl Beast. "You better be glad I can't cuss in front of kids."

"Wow," said Eda, feeling the Owl Beast recede back into her mind. "You got the Owl Beast scared good."

"I'm not going to let the Owl Beast harm Aster," said Danielle, sitting on the couch.

"All right…first off, it's the Bad Girl Coven and second off, I guess you don't want in on the T-shirt order, huh?" said Eda, pulling out a t-shirt.

"Nice, I'll take one," said Danielle, seeing the t-shirt before looking at a water-logged box. "Okay, just try and grab it."

"Danielle… did you just," said Aster, seeing Danielle pull the water out of the cardboard box and forming it into a sphere. "You did! I can't believe you did."

"I don't get it," said Danielle, staring at Aster while shooting the water sphere out the door.

"That's a pretty advanced skill," said Aster, staring at Danielle. "And you just started learning water magic. You're amazing!"

"Oh," said Danielle, blushing while scratching her cheek. "Grazie."

"I don't care about T-shirts, Eda! I want to learn magic," said Luz, before gesturing to Gus. "And they teach that at Hexside!"

"I mean, yeah, well…" said Eda, grunting then walking towards the front door. "I don't wanna hear another word about Hexside, unless it's Hexside is on fire and let's grab front row seats!"

"Aw, look what you did," said King, seeing Eda slam the door. "I'm gonna go rub it in. Nyeh!"

"King," said Danielle, watching King go after Eda.

"Eda really doesn't like Hexside, does she?" asked Aster, floating onto Danielle's shoulder.

"Guess so," said Danielle, staring out the window at Eda. "There's got to be a reason."

"L-Luz, Danielle, a-about the ban, I, uh, used my H. A. S. presidential authority to pull some strings," said Gus, seeing Luz sigh and sit on the couch. "You two have been given a full pardon!"

"Che cosa?" said Danielle, looking at Gus. "Davvero?"

"Yes, really…" replied Gus, before thinking and staring at Danielle. "Did I just… understand that?"

"You mean..." said Luz, staring at Gus excitedly.

"I got the ban lifted!" said Gus, staring at the girls.

"Oh my gosh. Yes, yes, yes!" said Luz, excitedly, shaking Gus before jumping on the couch. "Of course, I'll be there tomorrow! Gus, this will be great! I get to see the school and save the president."

"Guess we'll see you tomorrow," said Danielle, looking at Gus.

"Cool," said Aster, shaking his tail. "I've always wondered what a school was like. Must be better than having mentors come to your house and such."

"Great! I'll see you tomorrow!" said Gus, leaving before doing a victory dance outside the house. "Yes! You did it, Gus! You did it, Gus. You're the smartest You're the best."

"Sweet moves, little dude," said Hooty, watching Gus's dance.

"I always forget you're there," said Gus, startled before looking at Hooty.

"I forget I'm here too," said Hooty, looking at Gus. "Boop."

"This is gonna work out after all," said Gus, staring at Hooty before getting excited.

The next day, the girls head to Hexside, Aster flying slightly ahead of them. Gus had procured two cowls for the girls for when they showed up. As he was waiting, Gus talked to Willow about his plan.

"This isn't gonna work out at all," said Willow, staring at Gus.

"Well, I feel like I took care of any potential problems," said Gus, scratching the back of his head.

"You lied to our best friends and told them you got the ban lifted," said Willow, staring at Gus. "That seems like a potential problem to me."

"You don't understand. The members were going mad," said Gus, staring at Willow. "They were bloodthirsty. They were touching objects. I had no choice!"

"Really?" said Willow, looking at Gus before gesturing to the school. "What about all the wanted posters around school?"

"What wanted posters?" said Gus, showing all the posters in his bag before pulling out two cowls. "I also got this. To keep them undercover."

"Undercover from what?" said Luz, finally arriving at the school before Gus pulled the cowl over her head.

"Behold your new cowls," said Gus, about to put one over Danielle.

"Thanks," said Danielle, grabbing the cowl and putting it on. "But I got this."

"Whoa. I love it," said Luz, fixing the cowl. "On the Boiling Isles, new things smell old."

"It needs a good wash," said Aster, sniffing Danielle's cowl before seeing her tug it away from her neck. "Danielle, are you okay?"

"Don't like things close to my neck," replied Danielle, pulling the cowl away. "It feels like I'm going to suffocate."

"Yep. Put it on. Hide your ears," said Gus, chuckling and confusing Danielle. "Wanna keep you under wraps 'till the big reveal."

"Okay," said Danielle, feeling like Gus was keeping something from her and Luz, Aster picking on as well.

"Oh, a showman. I totally get it. You bring the razzle," said Luz, before throwing a handful of confetti. "I'll bring the dazzle."

"Salute," said Danielle, a confetti landing on Aster's nose and making him sneeze.

"Grazie," said Aster, wiping his nose.

"Do you always have confetti on you or..." said Willow, only to hear Gus's demon watch go off.

"That's my alarm. Uh, we better get going," said Gus, dragging the girls away. "See you after school, Willow."

"Bye, friend. Be safe," said Luz, staring back at Willow. "Make good choices."

"Gus, you don't need to drag me," said Danielle, pulling her arm back. "We can take our time."

"Oh, Gus," said Willow, watching Gus take the girls into the school. "I hope you know what you're doing."

Meanwhile, back at the owl house, Eda is moping around. Hooty listens on as Eda rambles on while staring at a nearby fly.

"I'm trying to protect them," said Eda, ripping apart a flower. "Hexside chews up anything unique and spits out bland mush."

"I chew insects," said Hooty, watching as the fly buzzes around. "I turn them into mush."

"But that's my beef. Does she need to draw her own conclusions?" said Eda, before staring at Hooty.

"My beef is insects," said Hooty, waiting for a fly to fly closer. "They're what I eat."

"You're just gonna be unhelpful, huh?" said Eda, staring at Hooty.

"All I know is, you taught me and I turned out just fine," said Hooty, seeing a fly land nearby and sticking out his tongue to try and eat it.

"I gotta get those girls into school," said Eda, watching Hooty, concerned.

Back at Hexside, as Gus was showing the girls around school, they spotted some kid being bullied by some other students. Danielle cringes while watching what was transpiring before her. Aster as well, remembering his time back in his realm.

"Whoa!" said a Male Beast Keeping Student, having his backpack magically taken off him. "Hey! Give that back!"

"Huh?" said a Second Male Beast Keeping Student, laughing before being hooked by a school guard. "Whoa!"

"Trouble," said the School Guard, sniffing the student.

"Huh?" said a Male Oracle Student, before being hooked as well and dragged off. "No! Detention!"

"The only thing I'm guilty of is being too real!" said the Male Beast Keeping Student, being dragged away.

"That's new," said Luz, watching what was transpiring before her.

"Keep away is the worst game," said Aster, curling on Danielle's shoulder. "I hate it!"

"Me too," said Danielle, rubbing the top of Aster's head.

"Well, they kinda showed up after your last visit," said Gus, looking at the girls. "They smell trouble. Literally."

"Trouble," said a School Guard, sniffing trouble nearby.

"Me no like," said Danielle, wrapping her arms around herself and backing up.

"Okay, time to run for no particular reason," said Gus, dragging the girls away before bumping into Mattholomule.

"Augustus, you should really watch where you going. Don't want the president of the H. A. S. getting hurt on his last day in office," said Mattholomule, picking up the crown that fell out of Gus's bag and dusting it before looking at the girls. "These must be your humans. Hmm. Looks like some witchlings to me."

"I'm not liking him," said Aster, staring at Mattholomule.

"Psst. Psst!" said Gus, looking at the girls and pulling on his ears. "Dazzle."

"Okay," said Danielle, slowly pulling down her hood. "I guess."

"Oh," said Luz, before doing trumpet sounds and pulling her hood down. "Ta-da!"

"Humans!" said Mattholomule, gasping before staring at Danielle, a dreamy expression on his face.

"Not just any humans," said Gus, gesturing to the girls. "Expert humans."

"Yeah. I've been doing this for years," said Luz, before waving a hand into front of Mattholomule's face. "Hello… anyone in there?"

"Hello… did it hurt when you fell from heaven," said Mattholomule, grabbing Danielle's hand and about to kiss it before Aster climbed down her arm and slashed at Mattholomule's face. "Ow!"

"Definitely not," said Danielle, backing away from Mattholomule.

"First that Boscha girl tries to take King, and now him trying to take Danielle," thought Aster, glaring at Mattholomule. "Not happening!"

"They're here to authenticate your treasures," said Gus, taking back his crown and walking past Mattholomule. "See you at the meeting."

"It was nice meeting you," said Danielle, waving back to Mattholomule.

"Oh, no, no, no, no! They can't know I lied. Then they'll never make me president. Huh?" said Mattholomule, sinking to the floor before seeing the wanted posters of the girls that slipped out of Gus's bag before slipping Danielle's wanted poster under his tunic. "Ooh, Gus, I have you now. Though, I be keeping this one."

Meanwhile with Eda, she had just arrived at Hexside. Staring up at the school, Eda walks into the school straight to the principal's office. Gus is walking the girls down the hall towards the H.A.S. meeting.

"As president of the H. A. S., I should feel bad about dunking on one of our own members. But as a Gus I feel like doing this," said Gus, before dancing. "Oh, oh, yeah Oh, yeah, what, oh."

"Wow!" said Luz, walking over to a trophy case. "Who got the trophy for the most bones?"

"I'm afraid to ask," said Danielle, before Gus grabbed them and pulled them towards the meeting when he spotted a school guard. "Whoa, Gus, rallenta."

"We don't have time for this right now," said Gus, rushing the girls to the meeting. "We gotta get to the clubroom."

"Okay," said Luz, staring at Gus. "But next time you have to give me a full tour."

"Yeah, next time," said Gus, nervously laughing before spotting the abomination professor from that day.

"Ooh. It's the abomination professor. I should introduce myself. Apologize for the incident," said Luz, walking forward slightly and gaining the abomination professor's attention. "Hey, Mr. Abomination Professor. The abominominator. Remember me?"

"I don't think he does," said Danielle, seeing the abomination professor quirk his eyebrow at Luz. "Yet."

"Oh, wouldn't you know?" said Gus, pushing the girls down the hall. "We suddenly have time for a full tour of Hexside."

Meanwhile, Eda was in the principal's office. Eda takes a pencil out of a mug on the desk as she looks at Principal Bump.

"Been quite a while since I've sat here, huh?" said Eda, leaning back in her chair while placing the pencil on her upper lip. "I gotta admit it's extra weird without you yelling at me for picking fights or stealing."

"I can easily change that," said Principal Bump, magically pushing Eda's feet off his desk.

"Ow," said Eda, falling to the floor.

"What are you doing here, Edalyn?" asked Principal Bump, staring at Eda while fixing his name plate.

"I want to… Prft!" said Eda, fixing her hair. "I want to enroll my humans, Luz and Danielle, at Hexside. And before you get all judgy…"

"That's not a bad idea," said Principal Bump, staring at Eda.

"You no-good…" said Eda, before really hearing Principal Bump. "Wait, really?"

"I think the student body could learn a lot from having such an exchange student," said Principal Bump, walking over to a file cabinet. "But before I even consider that, there's a lot to be answered for."

"Oh right. Yeah," said Eda, after righting herself after Principal Bump magically turns her upside down. "I heard all about that abomination incident."

"Oh, I'm not talking about Luz and Danielle. I'm talking about the necrotic experiments, the graffiti, the scams, the cheating, Miss Jenkinmeyer's teeth," said Principal Bump, dropping a pile of papers and books before Eda on his desk, Eda sinking down in her chair. "The trouble you caused when you were here, Eda."

"Huh," said Eda, seeing her permanent school files before her. "I thought there'd be more."

While Eda was talking more with Principal Bump, Gus had taken the girls outside. Sitting on the bleachers, Gus shows the girls a sport that was being played.

"This is where we play the sport," said Gus, pointing to the field.

"I think it's going to be a while before I like a sport here," said Danielle, seeing a player being dunked in a basketball hoop. "I hope she's okay."

As Gus and Luz applaud, Gus sees a school guard sniffing nearby. Grabbing the girls hands, Gus leads the girls back inside. Luz doubles back when spotting a certain classroom.

"Ooh," said Luz, staring in through the window in the door. "What's in here?"

"The Plant Homeroom," replied Gus, staring in as well.

"That is not good," said Danielle, seeing a plant try to eat a student before Willow tickled it to release the student. "Willow's good."

"Willow, hey," said Luz, gaining Willow's attention and her waving at the girls.

"Hi," said Gus, before seeing Willow frown and shake her head at him. "Bye."

"Wait, what was that about Gus?" asked Danielle, wondering why Willow stared at Gus like that. "Gus, what was that about?"

"He's hiding something," said Aster, watching as Gus dragged the girls away towards a room full of mirrors.

"And this is where I spend my time," said Gus, pointing to his classroom. "The Illusion Track Homeroom."

"Wow," said Danielle, seeing the Blight twins conjure illusions over themselves while another student messed up. "This one is kinda interesting. Ooh, moon disguise."

"Moon disguise?" said Aster, staring at Danielle. "What's that?"

"I'll show you when I figure it out," replied Danielle, giddy with excitement.

"Wait, if you're here, who is that?" asked Luz, seeing another Gus in the room across from them.

"Illusionary clones," said Danielle, seeing the other Gus taking notes. "Pretty solid illusionary clones."

"Exactly. Takes notes for me when I'm not around," said Gus, staring at Danielle then his illusionary clone who held up a paper reading I'm not paying attention. "He doesn't always do what he's told."

"I hope the clone doesn't retaliate," said Danielle, staring at the clone.

"Wow, Gus," said Luz, staring at Gus. "You're good."

"Yeah. I moved up a couple grades," said Gus, before his watch goes off. "Oh! Time for the H. A. S. meeting."

Leading the way towards the classroom that held the meeting, Gus's clone watches them leave before the actual Gus turns back and mimes decapitation before casually walking back to the girls and Aster. Finally arriving, Gus, the girls and Aster see the members of H.A.S. banging their fists on the desks.

"Human, human!" said the H.A.S. members, banging their fists on the desk. "Human, human!"

"Human Appreciation Society..." said Gus, twanging the paperclip when entering the classroom. "It is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you..."

"Yeah, I'm not moonwalking," said Danielle, following Luz as she moonwalked into the classroom. "Couldn't even if I tried."

"Oh!" said Luz, recovering from her moonwalk and pulling her hood down, Danielle as well.

"Luz and Danielle, the humans," said Gus, introducing the girls.

"Such showmanship," said the Female Healing Student, staring at Luz.

"They're horrifying," said the Male Bard Student, staring at the girls.

"Horrifying?" said Danielle, not liking what she heard and backing up, rubbing her arm sadly.

"You're not horrifying," said Aster, pawing Danielle's face. "They don't know what they're talking about. You're awesome."

"Grazie Aster," said Danielle, deeply sighing before rubbing Aster's head. "Grazie."

"Luz, Danielle, will you inspect the items?" asked Gus, showing Mattholomule's items that were on the desk.

"And also show you how to spell paperclip," said Danielle, seeing the stuff on the chalkboard and making Gus blush. "Among some other things."

"Hehehe," said Gus, scratching the back of his head.

"Of course, Mr. President," said Luz, before reaching for an item on the desk. "Allow me to determine if they're truly of my realm's origin."

"Stop," shouted Mattholomule, knocking his fakes off the table with a grunt before jumping on the table. "Don't make another move, humans!"

"Uh…" said Danielle, gasping before backing away from Mattholomule.

"I... have something to say. I'm new here at Hexside. M-Making friends has been hard, so I lied. They're all fakes," said Mattholomule, calming down. "I thought if I was important enough people would like me. But I've caused enough drama. So, I'll go. I'm sorry."

"Hey, man. It's okay," said Luz, staring at Mattholomule. "You're only human. Well, you know what I mean."

"Just stay away from Danielle," thought Aster, still not liking what Mattholomule did earlier to Danielle.

"Mattholomule, you aren't alone," said Gus, staring at Mattholomule. "You have a place here in the H. A. S."

"You're not alone," said the Male Bard Student, clapping and staring at Mattholomule. "You're one of us."

"We admire your honesty," said the Female Healing Student, clapping as well.

"Thanks, guys," said Mattholomule, staring at everyone and smiling. "I knew you'd understand."

As the H.A.S. meeting was going on, Principal Bump had led Eda to some lockers with graffiti on it. Holding a mop, Principal Bump stares at Eda.

"I don't wanna do this!" said Eda, grumbling.

"There's the whiny rebel teen I remember. You'll need this," said Principal Bump, handing a mop over. "To clean up all the hexed graffiti you left us. Good luck."

"Meh!" said Eda, sticking her tongue out as Principal Bump left.

Eda puts the mop in the bucket and attempts to wipe away graffiti on lockers that reads EDA RULES BUMP EATS STINK. The graffiti avoids the mop. Eda tries again, it moves again. She tries slower, it moves slower. She tries to wipe the entire row of lockers, only succeeding in making all the graffiti combine and now read, MOTHER NOOOO! Eda slams at it as it moves again while groaning. During the meeting, many things were explained to the students by Luz and Danielle. Gus even learned some new things. After the meeting ended, the other members started to leave.

"Thanks for coming," said the Female Healing Student, waving bye to the girls.

"Come back soon," said the Male Bard Student, waving as well.

"Thank you," said the Female Potion Student, muttering unintelligibly afterwards.

"That wasn't half bad," said Danielle, waving bye to the H.A.S. members.

"Hey, Augustus, Luz, Danielle, thank you for being so forgiving," said Mattholomule, staring at the girls and Gus while playing with the rubik cube. "And also explaining this rubik cube, it's very interesting."

"We've all been the new kid before," said Luz, staring at Mattholomule then Gus. "Right, Gus?"

"Yeah," replied Gus, staring at Luz then Mattholomule.

"Well, I just have one thing to say..." said Mattholomule, before some school guards slam open the door and showing the girls wanted posters. "There they're are! They're the intruders!""

"Cosa!" said Danielle, looking at Mattholomule. "Gus, cosa sta succedendo?"

"Trouble," said a School Guard, sniffing.

"No, it's fine. The ban's been lifted. Tell 'em, Gus," said Luz, before being hooked and dragged away. "Gus! Tell them!"

"Aah!" said Danielle, being hooked as well while being dragged away. "Lasciarsi andare! Non sto causando problemi. Gus!"

"Hands off her!" shouted Aster, only to be grabbed by his scruff. "Let go!"

"Aster!" shouted Danielle, trying to grab Aster out of the school guard's hand before her hazel eyes turn white. "Let Aster go!"

"I knew he was keeping something from us," said Aster, staring back at the classroom.

"Oh, who's the liar now, Augustus?" said Mattholomule, staring at Gus.

As the school guards were dragging the girls and Aster to wherever detention was, they bypassed the plant homeroom. The school guard that was dragging Danielle was getting extremely nervous seeing her stare at him with those eyes of her's, afraid she might attack at any minute.

"Maybe I've been too hard on Gus. I mean, what trouble could they get into?" said Willow, tending to some plants before hearing the girls.

"Help!" shouted Luz, gaining Willow's attention in her classroom while still struggling against the school guard dragging her.

"Ow!" shouted the School Guard, Danielle striking him with a white energy-based dragon claw and grabbing Aster.

"Stai bene?" asked Danielle, checking Aster for any injuries before being hooked again. "Hey!"

"I don't even learn here!" shouted Luz, trying to get loose.

"Luz!" said Willow, staring out the door's window. "Danielle!"

"Where are they taking us?" asked Aster, staring at Danielle as they were still being dragged to wherever detention was.

"I don't want to know," said Danielle, her eyes returning to normal and leaning towards the floor to stop the school guard from dragging her any further, only for him to lift her up with the hook. "Dangit!"

"Where are you taking us?" asked Luz, staring at the school guards.

"Detention," replied the School Guard, not looking back at Luz.

"But…" said Danielle, paling. "I've never been to detention before."

"What's detention?" asked Aster, looking at Danielle.

"Think of it being like a big time out," replied Danielle, staring at Aster. "Detention is a form of punishment used in schools, where a student is required to spend extra time in school, where the student has to stay in a room away from the rest of their peers and is expected to be quiet."

"That sounds awful," said Aster, staring at Danielle. "There's got to be a way out of this."

"Oh," said Luz, staring at the school guard. "That won't be so bad, right?"

The school guards stops at the end of a certain hall. Looking down the hall, the girls and Aster see a giant door with three closed eyes. The eyes open, red and yellow, and the bottom of the door lifts up to reveal a mouth filled with sharp teeth. The girls scream as Aster glares angrily at the door. Back at the H.A.S. room, Gus is shaking with anger at Mattholomule.

"I can't believe you three fell for that," said Mattholomule, staring at Gus. "Like I'd actually apologize."

"What. Did you. Do?" said Gus, still shaking with anger.

"Ah, boo-hoo. I'm sorry. I am the new kid. I want friends," said Mattholomule, mockingly. "Ha! No. I want power. And I want drama. And I got one of those right now. So, what are you gonna do, Mr. President?"

"Executive action," said Gus, grabbing the school's bell tongue and pulling it.

The school guards appear at the door before hooking them and dragging them towards detention. Mattholomule is the one mostly complaining as they are dragged off. Willow had followed secretly in pursuit after seeing them bypass her classroom.

"But I didn't pull the alarm! It was Augustus! Are you even listening to me? I demand justice!" said Mattholomule, before seeing the detention door and flung in alongside Gus. "Wait! Get me outta here! Open up!"

"Luz!" shouted Gus, looking around for the girls. "Danielle!"

"Gus!" shouted Luz, hiding behind a rock alongside Danielle and Aster. "You said the ban was lifted!"

"You lied!" shouted Aster, glaring at Gus.

"Hai mentito!" said Danielle, staring at Gus. "Perché?"

"Well, I…" said Gus, staring at the girls nervously.

Gus tries to stand, but the ground cracks open at his feet. The crack widens until nearly the whole room is a hole, revealing teeth, eyes, and blue tendrils and pods, inside of which are students. The girls screams while Aster stares at the opened floor. Elsewhere, Eda is covered in some purple like substance, holding a bag with what looks to be like ghosts into the cafeteria. Eda drops the bag in front of Principal Bump.

"There," said Eda, straining. "The girls changing room is ghost-free."

"Are you ready to give up?" asked Principal Bump, taking a ghost out of Eda's hair. "You've barely scratched the surface."

"They're just as bad as Luz and Danielle. They'd love it here," said Eda, spotting two students helping each other. "All right. What's next, Bumpikins?

Back at the detention area, the girls stare at Gus. Tendrils wiggle about in the hole area.

"How is this detention?" asked Luz, staring at the hole than at Gus. "This is a death sentence!"

"I don't know!" said Gus, placing himself against the wall. "I've never been in detention before!"

"This is enough to scare me to never get detention again," said Danielle, staring at the hole, scared while Aster growls. "If I ever go here."

"Welcome to my world," said Mattholomule, staying near the wall while bending close to Gus. "Believe it or not, at my old school I was in detention plenty of times."

"That is not something to be proud of," said Danielle, staring at Mattholomule.

"That isn't hard to believe," said Luz, staring at Mattholomule. "You're kind of a jerk."

"Well, down in detention, this jerk is king. So, if you wanna get out, you better do exactly what I say. But first, before anything else, we gotta…" said Mattholomule, walking forward slightly before a snake like demon popped up. "Already?"

"S-s-s-s-serpe…" said Danielle, backing up into the wall, shaking in fear. "S-s-serpe!"

"Danielle, stai bene?" said Aster, seeing that Danielle was shaking like a leaf during a storm before staring at the snake like demon than back at Danielle. "Oh no, ophidiophobia."

"Mattholomule!" shouted Luz, seeing Mattholomule grabbed by the snake like demon's tongue and dragged down into the hole before looking at Gus. "You lied to me. You lied about the ban! Why?"

"I was afraid," replied Gus, staring at Luz. "I acted stupid."

"Yes, you did!" said Luz, somewhat angry at Gus.

"Danielle, calm down," said Aster, seeing that Danielle wasn't getting better, pawing her face gently. "Please, calm down."

"S-s-serpe…" said Danielle, tears in the corners of her eyes, tearing off the cowl. "Non respiro... Lakota... zoo... Mamma!"

"You've got to be kidding me," shouted Caius, within Danielle's mind. "Get over that damn fear! You are an embarrassment among Light's incarnations if you let this get to you!"

"Shut up…" thought Danielle, not wanting to hear Caius right now. "Just shut up."

"Shut up… shut up… you better watch yourself child!" said Caius, getting angry at Danielle. "I can only tolerate so much!"

"No," said Danielle, whining.

"Danielle," said Aster, staring at Danielle worriedly before glaring at Gus, his eyes going scarlet. "This wouldn't have happened if he didn't lie."

"Being younger than everyone is hard," said Gus, slowly walking over to the girls. "You're overlooked. Ignored. But at the H. A. S. I mattered. I could make sure no one would ever get left behind. I didn't wanna lose that. I'm sorry."

"Huh…" thought Aster, staring at Gus, his eyes going back to azure slowly.

"I get it," said Luz, putting a hand on Gus's shoulder. "I just wish you told me the truth."

"Let me make it up to you, Luz," said Gus, after seeing more of the snake like demons crawling up the walls of the hole before looking at Luz. "I've got a plan."

"Hey, what about Danielle?" asked Aster, slashing a snake like demon away. "You completely forgot her. Hey!"

"Ya!" shouted Luz, kicking a snake like demon away. "I'm in. Where do we start?"

"Hey!" shouted Aster, batting at Luz's hair. "I'm talking to you!"

"By leaving no one behind," said Gus, grabbing Luz's hand and jumping into the hole.

"You just left Danielle behind. Get back here!" shouted Aster, only to hear Danielle scream and turning around seeing snake like demons crawling towards her, pouncing on the snake like demons and using various magic to keep them away from Danielle. "Stay away from her! That's my best friend!"

"I will be a good student," said Mattholomule, in a pod that was taken down by Luz and Gus, Luz trying to bite it open.

"You know, it didn't taste as bad as I thought it would," said Luz, staring at Gus. "Oh, you're a witch. Do magic."

"Oh, I'll use magic," said Gus, taking the paperclip and bending it before stabbing it into the pod freeing Mattholomule. "Human magic."

"Am I a good student?" asked Mattholomule, still being affected while looking at Luz and Gus.

"Oh, gosh. He's so little," said Luz, picking Mattholomule up before hearing more snake like demons hiss and hearing Aster battle them from above. "This is part of the plan, right?"

"Or the illusion of a plan," said Gus, conjuring multiple illusionary copies of himself and Luz all over the place.

"A genius and a wordsmith," said Luz, seeing the snake like demons attack the illusions.

Gus picks up a giant bone and the two climb out of the hole. Snake like demons hiss as they follow. Gus reaches the top first, taking Mattholomule from Luz. Luz kicks a snakelike demon in the face when she pulls herself up, then spins and kicks another. Luz spots Aster sending a snake like demon flying with wind magic before spotting Danielle.

"Oh my gosh," said Luz, trying to get to Danielle only for Aster to block her. "Aster, what are you doing? Let me get to Danielle."

"You left her!" shouted Aster, his eyes half scarlet and glaring at Luz. "You're suppose to be her friend!"

"I don't know what you're saying but we have to get out of here," said Luz, staring at Aster. "Please, just let me…

"Why should I?" asked Aster, glaring at Luz.

"Ugh, I don't have time for this," said Luz, grabbing Aster and helping Danielle up with some resistance.

"No no no-no-no!" shouted Danielle, trying to pull away from Luz.

"Danielle!" shouted Luz, before a thought came to mind and putting Aster in Danielle's hands and pushing him into Danielle's face. "Fuzzy… soft… cute!"

"Aster…" said Danielle, feeling Aster's fur against her.

"That was a little embarrassing," thought Aster, blushing.

"Good, your somewhat back to normal," said Luz, staring as Danielle slowly petted Aster.

"We're gonna have to bust down the door," said Gus, staring at the girls and Aster.

"Right behind you," said Luz, picking up Mattholomule and grabbing Danielle's hand. "¡Vamos!"

Three snake like demons follow them out of the hole, hissing. Luz gestures to Danielle to take hold of the bone alongside her, and all three run for the door. The three scream, the snake like demons hiss following close by. Outside of the detention area, Willow sneaks toward the doors. Slowly lifting the crossbar, Willow hears Eda and Principal Bump nearby.

"I washed off all the graffiti. Apologized to Jenkinmeyer for stealing her teeth. Caught all the wild cerebi," said Eda, counting all the things she did while at Hexside when she was younger. "Ah, we should be good."

"It will be very exciting to have some real human exchange students," said Principal Bump, shaking hands with Eda.

"And you won't tell the Emperor's Coven about this, will you?" asked Eda, eyeing Principal Bump.

"No. Hexside School is safe for you three," said Principal Bump, staring at Eda. "I'm the principal, not a stooge. Consider your pupils our pupils."

Banging interrupts them. Willow backs away from the door as it's hit again from the inside. A third hit shatters the door, and Gus and the girls burst through, panting. Aster shakes out his fur while on Danielle's shoulder.

"Eda?" said the girls, spotting Eda.

"Guess who got you into Hexside!" said Eda, raising her arms in the air excitedly.

"Huh…?" said Danielle, breathing heavy still while staring at Eda.

"What?" said Luz, before two snake like demons appear behind her hissing.

"Serpe!" said Danielle, backing up and falling to the floor, about to have another episode.

"Uh, sorry, Principal Bump," said one of the snake like demons, freezing and retreating back into the detention area when Principal Bump snapped his fingers. "Sir."

"It's okay Danielle. They're gone," said Aster, gently pawing Danielle's head before being pulled into a hug. "Okay, it's okay."

"What did you do?" asked Principal Bump, staring at the girls.

"Lasciatemi spiegare..." said Danielle, trying to regain herself.

"Ugh, girls," said Eda, facepalming.

"To think that any student of yours would be capable of doing anything but create chaos..." said Principal Bump, staring at Eda. "Eda, take your students and leave! You three are banned from this campus!"

"Cosa?" said Danielle, standing and staring at Principal Bump, trying to calm down to no avail. "Ma... ma...'

"It wasn't Danielle's fault," shouted Aster, staring at Principal Bump before glaring at Gus and Mattholomule. "It was theirs."

"Come on, girls," said Eda, gesturing the girls to her, Danielle dejectedly walking towards her. "Let's go."

"Wait, Principal Bump. Don't blame Luz and Danielle," said Gus, gaining Principal Bumps attention alongside Eda, the girls and Aster. "I told them the ban was lifted. We were fighting over the Human Appreciation Society. I brought Luz and Danielle in because I wanted to win. This is all my fault."

"If that's so, Augustus, would you be willing to accept their punishment as your own?" asked Principal Bump, staring at Gus.

"Yes, Principal Bump," said Gus, confusing Aster. "I would."

"Huh," said Eda, staring at Gus. "Dang, dweebus."

"Very well," said Principal Bump, staring at the girls. "In light of that, barring any more trouble, you shall officially be enrolled in Hexside School next semester."

"Davvero?" said Danielle, looking at Principal Bump and hearing Luz gasp in excitement.

"Uh, hold on. Hold on," said Eda, ushering Principal Bump away and staring at the girls. "I'm only doing this because I have faith in you two. And I know you're too smart to fall for that One-Witch, One-Coven nonsense. You can learn a lot from the witches here. And maybe teach them some of that Bad Girl Coven magic too."

"Hehe," said Danielle, slightly chuckling.

"I didn't hear that," said Principal Bump, before staring at Gus and taking his crown. "As for you, I would be saying detention right now but that seems to be out of order. So, as of now, I'm removing you from the Human Appreciation Society."

"Does that make me president?" asked Mattholomule, laying face down on the floor after the ordeal in the detention area.

"Impressive. Still alive," said Principal Bump, tossing the crown on Mattholomule's head. "Yes, I suppose you are."

"Yes!" said Mattholomule, weakly and raising his arm.

"Now, with that accomplished," said Principal Bump, walking away. "Eda, we have some paperwork to fill out."

"Wait! I gotta do more stuff? Ugh!" said Eda, staring at the girls. "You better enjoy this place, girls."

"Don't worry, I will," said Danielle, leaning against the wall and sliding down to the floor while pulling Aster close and nuzzling him. "And Aster will too."

"You want me to come with you to school?" said Aster, seeing Danielle nod her head yes. "Yeah, we get to spend more time together. And I get to know what school is like."

"Wanna finish off that tour?" asked Gus, staring at Luz.

"I can show you guys what plants not to touch in the greenhouse," said Willow, looking at Luz. "And then I can let you touch them."

"Yeah! Let's go," said Luz, excitedly before staring at Danielle. "Or maybe help Danielle right now."

"Huh…" said Danielle, staring at Luz.

"You, okay?" asked Luz, bending down with Willow and Gus.

"I don't want to really talk about," replied Danielle, petting Aster before looking at Mattholomule. "I think we need to get Mattholomule to the nurse."

"Huh…" said Mattholomule, staring in Danielle's direction.

By the time Eda was done and Danielle slowly calming down, they bid good bye to Willow and Gus. Eda had a large stack of papers with her. Flying back to the owl house, Eda and the girls wind down for the remainder of the evening. After having showered and in pajamas, Danielle is back to being mostly herself. Spotting Eda and Luz looking through the stack of papers, Danielle and Aster is gestured over to see what the stack of papers were. Turns out, it was Eda's permanent record. Danielle was giggling looking and reading through them.

"Wow! Bump was not exaggerating," said Luz, staring at Eda's permanent record. "You were a terrible student."

"Hahaha," said Danielle, wiping a tear away. "I love hearing stories from Nonna and Mamma about what it was like when they were growing up. And now I'm learning yours. I love it"

"Wow," said Aster, staring at Eda's permanent records. "Eda's done a lot in school."
