The next morning Graham wakes up early like he always does, kisses Ace on the forehead before heading down to start the coffee and breakfast. He looks at the couch first to find it empty, then hears rummaging in the kitchen. "Morning Tegan."
"Are you always up this early?" She turns around.
"I am," he walks to start the coffee to find it already made. "I have had this habit since I started seeing Grace. After my cancer treatments were done, she got moved to nights. It was the best way we could spend time together."
"Now that you are engaged to Ace?"
"It gives me time to make coffee and tea."
"Why both?"
"It depends on her mood when she wakes up, what she wants."
"Why do you do that much?"
"She does double duty at times."
"You mean she sometimes works at both UNIT and at A Charitable Earth?"
"As much as I tell her that she needs to slow down and focus on her mental and physical wellbeing, she sometimes does. I know she will do what is best for everyone but herself. Her heart is too big to not do otherwise."
"What about now?"
"This is the longest she has been away from her charity since I met her."
"She doesn't go for extended periods away from it often. It's her baby."
"That and Nitro-999. How did you sleep?"
"How did I get to the couch and a blanket over me?"
"The Doctor, your Doctor, carried you to it and I made sure you wouldn't get cold."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. What do you want for breakfast?"
"I don't know. Can I say nothing?"
"Nope that isn't allowed," Ace answers for Graham as she enters the kitchen.
"You two spend too much time together." Ace gives Graham a quick kiss before heading over for coffee.
"How much time did you and Nyssa spend together?"
"Almost all of it, but you got to realize we were in the TARDIS a lot and when not, safety was in numbers." Graham mumbles something under his breath, "what was that Graham."
"You're forgetting I was also on the TARDIS with two other companions and the Doctor. We all found time to be by ourselves. Even Yaz and the Doc."
"Though they probably made it look like they were being a part," Ace jests.
"I asked Yaz about it, she told me no. The Doc was worried about another relationship after losing her wife."
"Wife," Tegan is shocked to find this out.
"Yeah, it shocked me too ya know. I guess I should do some investigating after we get Nyssa back."
"The two of you are already putting so much on hold for me."
Ace moves to stand next to Tegan, "no we're not. We are trying to get a friend of the Doctor to earth."
"The two of you are already putting your wedding on hold until we have Nyssa back, well more me."
"Right now you need a friend, and that friend is me, and Graham by association."
"I want to help out. Everyone deserves to be with the one they love and be happy." Graham says as he finishes having cereal. "You two eat something, I'll go shower."
"He does a lot for you."
"I know, and while it feels weird, it also feels amazing that someone cares. Do you want to go to work today?"
"I do. I want to keep myself distracted. Though you should do some work with A Charitable Earth."
"I," Ace hears the shower start.
"Have you two you know?"
"Not since a few days before I picked you up."
"More like kidnapped me."
"You didn't come kicking and screaming." Tegan get's a smile on her face, "don't you go there."
"You probably don't kick but…"
"Tegan, not now." Ace walks away from her.
"Are you going to join Graham?"
"No, I am going to my office to send off some emails and follow your advice."
"One part of it." Tegan goes for the cereal not wanting to face Graham if he finds out she didn't eat. "What about breakfast Ace?"
"He keeps some non-perishable items in my office for this reason." After Graham is done he goes downstairs.
"Did you eat something?"
"I did, but you may want to make sure Ace is. She is in her office."
"Ok, thank you." Graham makes his way to Ace's office where he gets pulled in. Then pushed up against the door. After Ace backs off him. "You haven't eaten anything have you?"
"That worked last time."
"We also went farther last time." Ace looks him up and down. "I just got out of the shower, and we should be heading out soon."
"You're no fun," Ace starts to walk away as she is pulled in by Graham. After the kiss breaks.
"No fun, you say. Now eat something." Graham leaves the office as Ace gets a large smile on her face as she goes to the drawer that has the food. 20 minutes later and 15 emails, "we're leaving in 10 Ace."
"Coming." On the way to UNIT, Tegan falls into an uneasy sleep.
"Tegan."
"Nyssa, it's really you isn't it?"
"It is, that is what I have been trying to tell you."
"The Doctor did this trick that I hoped worked."
"What did he do?"
"Come here," Nyssa walks closer to Tegan and puts her fingers to Nyssa's temple. "This is what he did, but with some Time Lord mambo jumbo added to it."
"Did it feel this good?"
"No, though I like the feel of your hair brushing my fingers."
"What about my lips brushing yours."
"After you tell me about what happened last night."
"Remember Olvir?"
"I do."
"He thought I was having a nightmare as he checked in on me. I have an office, and woke me up."
"That is why the dream didn't have a natural ending."
"Mhmm, want to have one now?" Tegan smiles as Nyssa comes in closer to her, both eyes close as heads move closer.
"Tegan, we're here." Tegan is awoken from her dream and near kiss with Nyssa by Ace.
