Nyssa is trying to work out a new way to get to earth as Olvir enters the office. "You should take a break. You have been working on this almost nonstop for the past month."
"Well, Tegan finally believes it's me, so now it's crunch time. I need to get to her. So are you going to help or just stand there?"
"Help," he knows his plan and hopes Nyssa can't read his mind. When Nyssa gets up he changes the outcome of her equation by one decimal point. He is back in his seat when Nyssa comes out.
"Why don't you go home. I am going to eat something then head to bed."
"What bed?"
"The one in the corner." Nyssa points to it.
"You should go home."
"My home isn't here. My home and heart are on earth."
"With Tegan?"
"Yes, with Tegan, her family and friends."
"What about me? What about our friendship?"
"I will treasure it, but as soon as I finished what I came here for, I have been feeling increasingly lonely."
"You have me."
"Not in the way I want Tegan. Olvir, I look at you as a friend and always have."
"I know. Nyssa, look you should go home to sleep."
"This will be my home until I can get home."
"You are not even."
"Stop it, go home and sleep and think about what you were going to say." After Olvir leaves, Nyssa goes and looks at her work and looks at it. "I don't remember writing that down. I must be really tired. Tegan here I come." Nyssa falls into an easy slumber. After a while her dreams turn to her inner desires as she travels to earth.
"Nyssa?" Tegan is too asleep.
"It's me."
"I'm sorry for earlier. I was on the way to work when Ace woke me up."
"Are you staying with her?"
"And her fiancé." Nyssa sits next to Tegan.
"How does that make you feel?"
"I feel like I am making them put a pause on their relationship."
"Why do you say that?"
"Today they both said things that hurt the other. Graham is feeling neglected."
"It isn't your fault."
"Since everything with the Mara happened, Ace hasn't gone to her charity which she built from the bottom up. Made any of her explosives. She even made it official that she was taking a sabbatical."
"Explosives?" Nyssa is surprised that Tegan associated with someone that made explosives.
"She has been making them since she was a teenager. After I saw you and the Mara: I ghosted everyone. I only wanted them to see me strong. During that time Ace stopped going on dates with Graham. He did suggest putting their wedding on hold until I find you. You would be my plus one."
"Thank you. I have an idea, what if you find a way to make them a nice meal and then leave them alone."
"When the time comes the same thing will happen to us. Just wait until you have Graham's cooking."
"He's a good cook?"
"Wonderful, my first morning he had many of my favorites made. He also made sure to make Ace her vegan foods."
"She's vegan?"
"She is. She doesn't force it on anyone; even has encouraged Graham to continue eating meat."
"And you?"
"She doesn't care. We never kiss."
"I don't know if I should be glad to hear that."
"I haven't been in a relationship since my second husband. I never looked at Ace that way."
"In what way?"
"The way I look at you." Tegan looks lovingly into Nyssa's eyes. Nyssa's hand goes to Tegan's cheek and brings their lips together. Tongues meet as the kiss deepens and eyes close.
"So never that?"
"No, and never had a kiss that felt like that."
"You have been married twice."
"Both ended in divorce, one because he figured I was in love with someone else. I was still in denial about my feelings for you. If I am honest it was until the Mara that I admitted that it was you. Always you. I guess it also helped that my best friend got engaged that same day."
"Now you have me."
"Just in dreams. I do have friends, those who traveled with the Doctor before and after us helping me out."
"I am working on a way too." Tegan sees Nyssa's face contorts.
"What's wrong?" Tegan grabs Nyssa's hand.
"You know how I am getting help from Olvir?"
"I do."
"I think he changed something today when I was in the bathroom."
"Is there anything you can do to test it out?"
"There is."
"Do it, and place some small cameras around to catch him in the act."
"How'd you come up with all of that?"
"I work and freelance for UNIT. In fact Kate Stewart is my boss."
"As in the daughter of the Doctor's friend." She asks the woman next to her.
"The one in the same."
"Wow. I can't wait to meet your son."
"He's heard all about you since he was little."
"He has?"
"Bedtime stories. His favorite was when we tried to carry the Doctor in the Zero Cabinet."
"What was yours?" Nyssa watches as Tegan blushes. "It must be big if your blush is anything to go by."
"When we met the person who looked like your twin."
"Why?"
"Why do you think Nyssa," Tegan leans in to brush her lips against Nyssa's.
"Oh."
"Yeah." Nyssa starts to laugh. "What."
"Just imagining what it would be like meeting someone who looked like you."
"Oh no." Tegan doesn't want to know what is going on in the Trakenite's mind.
"It would be topping." Both fall back in laughter remembering that adventure. An alarm goes off.
"I hate to stop this date, but Nys, that is my alarm. I should wake up before someone bubbly comes into my room."
"Then let's end this date right," Nyssa leans in again and kisses Tegan slowly as both wake up. Nyssa quickly goes over the work from the day before finding what was changed.
