And the Creators saw that the Wickedness
was great upon The World.
And it grieved Them to Their hearts.
He could feel the seal weakening.
He could finally feel again.
It had felt like eons since he had drawn breath.
It had felt like innumerable ages since he had tasted food or sipped wine.
It had felt like countless centuries since he had felt the wind dance across his face.
And yet he had never forgotten them.
Link. Zelda. Sages.
How long had it truly been? In this foul prison the Sages had sealed him in there was no way of tracking time. What had become of his people? Without him there to protect them, would they return to their oppression under the Kingdom of Hyrule?
Why was the seal weakening? Was it Power overcoming the bonds the Sages has ensnared him with? Perhaps enough time had passed that the Sages began to expire, and with them their hold on him gone as well?
More ages had passed.
The Seal continued to weaken further. He could now move about freely within his prison. Not that there was anything to do or see in this endless blank void.
He sat in a meditative state, attempting to focus Power on the bounds confining him. Every so often he could feel something from outside. What it was would vary. Sometimes it would be a slight breeze, other times a familiar smell or taste upon his lips.
Soon he would be free.
And when he was, he would deliver on the promise he made all those countless ages ago.
Link. Zelda. Sages.
When he was free of this prison, he would hunt down and exterminate their descendants.
Still more ages had passed.
He could feel the outside world flooding into his prison. He could hear voices, and even project his own into the outside world. He had learned that enough Time had passed that he was regarded as a figure of myth, as were the Princess and the Hero that overthrew him.
Most importantly, he had learned that the Sages, while blessed with long life, had passed on centuries ago. Their successors had attempted to keep the seal on strong, and yet they had been struck down by a follower of his one by one.
They will be rewarded beyond all others.
He felt a strange sensation, as though he was being pulled.
The infinite white void surrounding him was replaced by an unending darkness. He found himself overcome with sensation. He was pulled and collapsed onto his back. His eyes closed.
For the first time in over a thousand years he felt ground under him and the wind dancing gently upon his face.
He heard footsteps nearby.
For the first time in eons, Ganondorf smiled.
