Victor John Foxfire: I asked for feedback from the readers, and his review was more than "You're stupid". He is entitled to have an opinion, and he presented it with reasoning outside of insulting me. So I'll respect the review, with the caveat that I'll discuss in his response.
Fiona has discovered an advantage at least to seeing how the machine's work. That being said, there is no time for traps. They have to move quickly. Gewis has slowly become a capable commander, learning tricks and tactics.
Guest( Both reviews): Ok, I will start this off by say that reviews are a very poor chat system, and if you wish to discuss something with Victor, you should probably get an account. That being said, if you are going to use my the system as a chat system, keep it civil, and keep it fair. I don't mind criticism or insults, but I do mind if your reviews become hostile to a fellow reader.
So, to address your reasoning, yes, the wolverine killed and ate Rotor's family, but he also ate Eggman's forces in the region. He did not play favorites or pick a side in the conflict. He also did not harm any children, so he clung to his moral code. He attacked enemies in his claimed territory, and thus he was justified( in his eyes, with the culture he was raised in).
The Wolverine is consistently challenged, but his views make it difficult for anyone to find the right avenue of attack. He's powerful and clever, which terrifies his opponents, and inspires his men, giving him a lot of sway over their views. He defends his values with enough logic that you need a good counter argument to disprove. He's so simple, it's hard to argue against him. Rotor and Bunnie don't like him, despite not arguing with him, because they don't know how to counter his world view.
Johan would say that everyone was given a fair shot to fight him and survive. That would be a just approach, not giving anyone an easier time.
As for your "Harshness" you're fine. You are entitled to have an opinion, and should voice that opinion. You are not an ass for voicing that opinion. The pauses were meant to be a funny moment where I realize how stupid it is to respond to a review in which someone says they wont return. Your response will never be read, so why write it? I did so because I said I would, even if you weren't coming back.
I don't think you have a problem with the story itself, but rather, you don't like Johan, which is fine. He's not meant to be likeable, necessarily, but understandable with context. I did cut some debates because I thought it would be boring to have long arguments, but I could start writing them out fully.
o3o: Torture can take many forms. If Sonic is at an all time low in one way, Eggman might have to change up his tactics…
Fiona has definitely fallen behind Schedule, but they're getting closer. Very soon, they will be at Sonic's prison. Then the real fun begins…
RanoutofIdeasforaname: Yes, the old World War 1 style gun. The comics do take place in the future, but the technology has gone backwards. Furthermore, they're dealing with walkers, which can't have too much armor due to several physics laws. An iron-copper rifle calibre bullet will rip through the thin steel, and strike the important inner modules.
/*-*/
Sonic awoke to the sound of Eggman clapping his hands throughout the torture room obnoxiously, "Alright, hedgehog, time to wake up. There's a tournament underway and I think you know what that means." He grinned at Sonic with that dark face of his that made Sonic wish his hands were free to punch it.
Sonic groaned, but his heart was quick to respond with fear and despair. Not emotions he usually felt, but for Sally, and the danger she was in, he felt it in full swing. Sonic gulped in fear as he saw the screen light up, "Eggman, come on, you're already stretched thin with bots. This tournament is not a good idea. You know it." Sonic tried his best to be convincing.
Eggman interlocked his fingers on his Eggmobile, with a smug smile, "Oh I have plenty of badniks for you and your little kingdom."
Sonic shrugged in his restraints, feeling honestly surprised by the loss of hope he felt at Eggman not listening to him. Eggman was so dead set on this, in hindsight, attempting to deter him from it was virtually impossible.
Still, Sonic watched as Orbot and Cubot appeared on the screen in the torture chamber, preparing to announce the coming brackets.
Eggman smiled with glee, "Let's watch the show, hedgehog. You should really be thanking me, not many prison wardens allow this kind of entertainment. Show a little gratitude." He reclined back and pressed a button, "Alright, Orbot, begin!"
The robot on his screen pulled up a sheet of paper, which looked like it was completely blank and there for a show, "Alright, on our first roster, we have Mecha Sally-"
Sonic felt his heartrate shoot through the roof. Something about him had a bad feeling about the coming opponent.
"-Will be fighting Metal Sonic in a rather unfortunate turn of events." Orbot finished his statement, sounding almost surprised for a robot.
Sonic felt his heart almost stop at that news. Metal Sonic was a destructive tough opponent even for him. Mecha Sally may have been upgraded with the roboticizer, but even she would have trouble keeping up with the mechanical copy.
"Yeah, and they're rough too." Cubot commented in his usual fashion.
"Metal Sonic is a very fierce opponent, a perfectly crafted replacement for the real-… Organic Sonic form." Orbot narrated, setting the piece of paper down, "This looks like a very once sided match. Although, it is rumored that Sally Acorn was caught in scandal with Sonic the Hedgehog, so this could just be… a lovers' quarrel."
Orbot said that with such a level of annoyance that it was definitely forced. Eggman was doing this on purpose. Sonic put up a fake smile and tried to feign disinterest as the screen flashed a bunch of photos of him and Sally together, standing out in the moonlight, sitting next to each other on a bench, a few kisses here and there. Nothing that was secret or private.
But it did remind Sonic of how much was at stake in this stupid tournament that Eggman had made for his suffering.
"We'll now begin with the two entering the battleground." Orbot stated and the screen shifted to the dusty patch where there so many badniks around, along with a few Legionnaires over in the corner of the base that they were at. It was taking place right next to the gate, with the walls overlooking and overshadowing the dusty square.
"Look out, here they come!" Cubot interjected with his stupid tone.
Sonic could see Eggman watching him carefully. Sonic couldn't keep up the fake disinterest any longer. There was no point, Sonic had already paid for Sally's safety, what would a little more be? He let his worry show.
There was a sense of unease with this whole tournament. Eggman had rigged it, or it felt like it. The rosters were different, Sonic was sure of it.
There was also a sense of doubt in Sally's incapability. Sonic wanted to believe Mecha Sally could take on Metal Sonic with ease. Or maybe it was the fear of anymore pain in his back. Sonic didn't want to offer up much more quills.
"The fight has now started!" A voice spoke over the screen and the dusty square. Sonic's beloved and Metal Sonic both flew upward, skirting around each other. Metal was being surprisingly cautious, but Sonic expected Sally to skirt around him. She was smart, and learned how her enemy fought before attacking if she could help it.
They continued their swirl moving far outside the boundaries of the useless square that had been made by flying well overhead. Sonic could still see everything, probably because of a camera badnik.
Sonic pleaded, "Please… Eggman, don't do this! You have it, ok, you've won! Just quit it!" Sonic barked at the old Scientist in anger.
"Oh, Hedgehog, giving up already?" Eggman asked with a pleased cackle, savoring every moment of Sonic's pain.
"Yes, I'm done, I'm finished, Just let her go!" Sonic begged. He had really been reduced to begging to his enemy for her safety?
Metal lunged at Mecha Sally, raking his claws across her upper metal chest plate, scratching down it.
"What are you offering, hedgehog?" Eggman demanded with a sinister smile. Sonic knew what he wanted.
"More quills…. Just take them." Sonic slumped. Eggman was going to get those quills, the least Sonic could do was make their loss worth it.
"Oh… is that all? So be it." Eggman smile, and reached behind Sonic, grabbing a handful of his blue spines.
"Sir, I came to give you a status report, our Egg Carriers are almost complete-" Clove walked in to immediately see Eggman yank out a chunk of Sonic's quills.
Sonic shouted in pain and lurched forward. Blood began to drip down his back as he panted.
Clove covered her mouth as Eggman laugh, "Egg Boss Six, what's the matter? You act like you didn't butcher him yesterday."
Clove shook her head and turned away, "Please stop… that's… unnatural."
"Unnatural? What's so great about nature? It's rot?" Eggman laughed, lightly elbowing Sonic's ribs as he did, before pressing a button as Metal lunged once again at Mecha Sally.
Metal's jet engine stopped working for a moment and the surprised metal copy plummeted, allowing Mecha Sally to kick him out of the sky. She pursued as Metal's engine turned back on before he hit the ground.
"Please, stop this. It's… unnerving." Clove corrected, wincing at Sonic's form once again.
Eggman paused, and his smile disappeared. Sonic groaned, "What was that? She should have destroyed him with that kick."
Eggman turned Sonic with another smile, "Oh but hedgehog, I want this fight to last. It is two of my favorite pieces. Let's not end it so quickly… say… "end it"…." Eggman smiled a thick grin, "My dearest Egg Boss, would you want me to ask our dearest prisoner to end his torture?"
Clove turned to look at Sonic and Eggman, her face being filled with regret as she made eye contact with Sonic. She nodded, "Yes… please."
Eggman turned to Sonic, "So, hedgehog, would you like me to stop torturing you?" He smiled a big grin.
Because he knew he had Sonic trapped. Sonic needed Sally to get through this. He needed someone, anyone to be his light in this stupid world while he was trapped. He couldn't do it alone.
So if Sonic stopped getting tortured, then Sally would lose, and he couldn't have that. He had to keep suffering, "No…" Sonic sighed, to the horror of Clove.
"What? Why? I made you an escape from this pain!" She sounded angry at Sonic's sorry form.
"I need her!" Sonic groaned before turning to Eggman, "Take more!"
Another yank and some more chunks of his quills were pulled from their sockets. Metal zipped at Mecha Sally only for his arm to not rush forward as expected. Mecha Sally swung her blade and slashed down Metal Sonic's engine, not creating anything too serious, unfortunately.
Clove turned and looked at Mecha Sally as the two got ready for another bout. She then turned back to Sonic, "You're fighting… suffering for her?" Clove mumbled in disbelief.
Sonic nodded, before growling at Eggman, "More! As much as it takes!"
Eggman yanked out a couple of spines from Sonic's head, which hurt even worse as he jerked forward and groaned in agony.
Clove frowned, and turned around shaking her head as she left the room.
Metal's engine once again stopped, giving Mecha Sally another chance to strike at him. She cut into his chest piece, this time causing some light sparking as the Metal Warrior descended to the ground. Unfortunately, Metal caught himself once again.
Eggman grit his teeth as Mecha Sally descended down as well. The two were getting ready to fight at foot level. Sonic smiled a bit. Sally was good in this kind of fighting. Her energy blades sparked brightly as she approached Sonic's metal clone.
Metal marched forward, but he then lunged into a punch, striking Sally's shoulder and spinning her around. He was still fast, which meant he was still devastating.
Mecha Sally caught herself and stabilized with her energy blades out stretched. Her shoulder was dented, but nothing too bad that it would prevent her from continuing to fighting.
Sonic slumped against his restraints. Sonic had the slightest bit of hope that the fight would be in Sally's favor since Metal was grounded.
Mecha Sally kept her distance as Metal rushed towards her. She stepped back, before slashing forward towards Metal, cutting deeper into the mechanical copy's form. Metal lurched back, grabbing Mecha Sally's arm in the process.
She jerked forward and collapsed onto the ground. Metal raised his claws, drawing the sharp points down at Mecha Sally as she tried to rise. To prevent her rise, Metal placed a foot on her back, and pressed down.
"DO MORE!" Sonic groaned as tears fell down his face, both from physical and emotional pain. Eggman was all too happy to comply as Sonic suffered once again.
The quills were ripped out of the center of Sonic's head, sending a splitting pain although out Sonic's body. Tears burst out of his eyes as more blood dripped down his back. His vision was blurred due to the tears in his eyes, but it looked like Metal stopped being in control of himself, and raised his foot up.
Mecha Sally shot out form under Metal with her jets, before leveling out and landing back onto the ground. Her blades glowed with malicious intent as the two starred off against each other.
Sonic wasn't sure how much more he could… no, he would endure as much pain as he needed to. Sally was in there, and she needed his help, as much as he needed hers. They would survive this together!
Sonic groaned as the machine and his lover seemed to glare at each other, or what could at best be considered a glare.
Mecha Sally and Metal Sonic approached each other, walking slowly towards the other as they got ready to fight.
A red aura suddenly flashed around the screen, and sudden Sonic saw what looked like a second view from above the wall. He saw green…Clove, staggering towards the edge of the wall as she tripped. Sonic thrashed about as her weapon was drawn and she caught herself, but not before dropping her scythe off the side of the black wall, directly over Metal Sonic.
The Metal copy didn't even have time to react before the blade struck his face, cutting into the metal skeleton as Eggman shouted, "NO!"
Sonic saw the blade cut past Metal's visor, into the center of the skeleton and through the back of the neck area. From what his eyes could tell, Clove was still calm as she pulled herself up from the wall, before passing a look up to the camera, and bowing her head.
Sonic gulped as Orbot announced the winner, "It seems that Metal Sonic is unable to continue operating due to intense damage… that makes the winner Mecha Sally."
"And Metal is broken pretty bad, too." Cubot insisted, in his typical fashion.
Sonic smiled at Clove through the camera, and though she couldn't see him, he imagined she was looking him back in the eyes. There was a look, one of dread, but also pride in her eyes.
Then Sonic saw the trembling form of Eggman, balling his fist and snarling angrily at the screen. He shouted at the void, "BRING HER TO ME!" He slammed into his Eggmobile in frustration.
Sonic panted and felt a pang in his chest for what he was starting to think was more than just an accident. He looked back at the screen as the badniks closed in on Clove.
She surrendered, looking unnerved and skittishly turning back and forth at the encircling badniks. Mecha Sally kept her cold, blue, metal eyes on Clove as she was dragged away.
Sonic watched as the doors burst open, with Clove thrown to the floor. Eggman loomed overhead, and walked out of his Eggmobile, walking out towards the sprawled out deer before him. Eggman loomed over her, and growled, "You ruined it… YOU RUINED IT!"
He then kicked her in the stomach, sending her across the ground, "You ruined my only source of entertainment."
"It… was an accident, I tripped, I am sorry." Clove pleaded, raising her hand up as she gasped, only for another kick to land across her chest, sucking the wind right back out.
"I don't think it was. I think you don't like the idea of my little tournament." Eggman kicked Clove again, causing her eyes to bulge out as she couldn't even scream, "I think-" another kick came "- that you wanted-" then another "-to end a match so quickly because you were bored."
Clove gasped as she slid up against the wall. She used her left hand to pulled herself up, throwing out her right, "I didn't, all I did was walk on patrol."
"No you didn't!" Eggman barked, kicking her in the side.
"That's enough, Eggman! She's already hurt. You don't need to hurt your own men." Sonic shouted as Clove looked barely conscious. Her fingers struggled to grasp anything, her head lolling to the side
Eggman turned to Sonic with a glowering rage that Sonic didn't understand, before he kicked the pronghorn's chest once again, sending her sprawling over the ground before he turned around, "Oh, you love her so much, then you watch her. I'll be busy tending to your "little mama"." Eggman growled before storming off.
Sonic looked down at Clove, who slowly raised her head. Her bruised face shown through as she struggled to stand. Sonic laid himself out in that moment, "Thank you…. why?"
Clove slowly rose, before sighing, "I… understand suffering for…" She coughed, "A loved one."
Sonic frowned before nodding again, "Thank you… really"
Clove nodded, but didn't even give him a smile as she walked towards the doorway, swaying and staggering every step of the way.
/*-*/
The four took a long detour to get behind the outpost. Fiona wished they had more food. They wouldn't have to actually stop and try to sneak into the outpost. Instead, they still had to try and sneak into the larger distribution center.
They were thankfully out of sightline, or range for the scanners to spot them. Fiona kept her ears up as they ran over the road area. After they cross over the road and jumped into the ditch, they crept carefully up the ditch towards the outpost.
Sticks was somehow running while crouched down, with her hood over her head. They moved through the muddy ground with dead grass sticking to their boots.
Renault huffed wearily as he ran with his captured weapons. He had it rough, carrying their recovery beacon on his back, and additional supplies on his back. Oscar was in the same boat, but it was pretty clear that Oscar was a lot stronger than the pig.
There wasn't a lot Fiona could do, especially as they approached the entry gate of the outpost as the sun set to their left. There was a single guard scanning the horizon, fierce and determined, but somehow oblivious to their approaching forms.
Sticks slowed down and raised a fist to tell the others to do the same. They crawled much slower with Fiona crawling ahead at the risk of making a little more noise. Thankfully, she had experience being quiet and sneaky.
She crawled up to peak at the guard standing by the gate as two Buzz Bombers flew overhead scanning the wall areas without much deviation for some reason. Fiona peaked up against the dead grasses that loomed on the edge of the ditch.
"Stay focused! We need to see any intruders before they see us! Look for anything suspicious!" A voice shouted at the patrol guards.
Fiona took a deep breath and kept calm as her group stayed down in the ditch. She lowered her head slightly and looked down at them.
"Hey, that grass… that's not the right color." The voice of the guard at the entry called out from behind Fiona. She tensed up and looked at the grass next to her. Her hair was sticking out, and a spot light shined on her head. She stayed frozen. Fiona could try and run, but that would just reveal her team. She had to stay put, and pray they did not investigate.
"Get out of here." Fiona growled at them. Damn this selflessness that had come over her, "Please, go save Sonic."
Sticks grabbed her sword, a cold expression washing over her face. The girl crawled a little higher up the ditch to Fiona's right, gripping her sword handle. Her expression was fierce, cold and ready to fight. Oscar then climbed up Fiona's left, setting out his legionnaire rifle and pressing it through the grass.
Renault crept up along side Sticks, with his rifle drawn.
They were staying by her side, which… felt different for Fiona. There weren't a lot of people who stuck with her when things got tough. They were something else: real friends. People she would love.
Sonic was like that, and while it seemed like such a rare quality for Fiona to experience, it felt warm when it was.
The search light focused on her hair, Fiona's ears listened carefully for the coming men. She could hear breathing from Oscar and Renault, but less from Sticks. She could hear the wind pushing the grasses and branches, the flutter of Buzz Bomber wings. The movement of feet across the rocky, dusty ground.
"Seriously? When I said stay alert, I didn't mean with little issues that could easily be explained by the setting sun." A legionnaire grumbled.
"That grass is red, it shouldn't be red." The other Legionnaire, the one who was guarding the entry gate, countered.
"It's the lighting, stay focused and on patrol." The captian of the outpost growled.
"We should at least send out a man or two to check it out. I'll go, just guard my back." The gate guard mumbled.
Fiona was suddenly grabbed and pulled down by Oscar, "They aren't looking, ok?"
Fiona recovered from the sudden jerk, before nodding at him, "Alright."
"Just look, the grass-… Wait? It's gone?" The gate guard exclaimed in surprise, shaking the searchlight to try and find Fiona's hair once again.
"This is what I was talking about. It's just the lighting, look for real threats. Quit wasting your energy looking busy and be busy." The leader scolded, before the sound of his foot steps growing quiet told Fiona that he was leaving.
Fiona gave a quick nod to the rest of her group, and they moved low along the ditch around the rear building.
It was more like a trench, and probably served the purpose of denying entry to anyone who would try to get into the buildings from the outside… as opposed to building fences. Furthermore, the trench only worked if the defenders knew that they were under attack or about to be breached.
This meant that Fiona and the group could use it as a tunnel to move around provided-
Fiona gazed along the walls and saw the box connected to the building via a swivel. There was a camera, which was designed to spot anyone trespassing. In most times it was probably a waste of time and resources, but for once, the Freedom Fighters would actually need to be careful.
Fortunately, the camera was on the building over, and on the front corner, watching for those who would come from the exit area of the outpost. Fiona did a quick double check with her eyes to look and see if there were any cameras she had missed on the outside. She hadn't.
There was a door which led to what Fiona could assume was a storage room/building right in front of them. There weren't any cameras, which was suspicious, or possibly an oversight. Fiona wasn't sure.
She dared to climb up the ditch, and look around some more. There really were no patrols on this side? Fiona rushed up to the door, and pressed her hand down on the handle. It was locked, and there wasn't a keypad… which meant this was an old school door lock that had to be picked physically.
Fortunately for her team, Fiona had a history of breaking and entering. Fiona ran back over to her team, and picked up her rifle, "I need two small needles, can you pull out your firing pins?" Fiona requested.
"Firing pins… from a laser rifle?" Oscar blinked at Fiona.
Fiona paused for the moment, closed her eyes and growled, "Not a word…. I need two needs."
Renault pulled out a screw driver, and handed it to Fiona. Fiona blinked at him and asked the obvious question, "Where did you get this?"
"It's in the handle of every gun." Renault showed the hollow handle to Fiona, and the open lip where the screw driver popped out.
Fiona opened her gun and pulled out the screw driver, before nodding at the others, "Keep watch." She crept towards the large building's back door, and pressed her screwdriver into the lock, along with the other screw driver. She pressed and fiddled with the two tools finding each groove.
She heard each click as Fiona continued to press and work with the rather difficult picks. Still, it was the best she had so far.
They were so stupid for doing this. This base was on high alert, they were looking for intruders and ready to fight anyone who came in the wrong way. Yet she kept picking.
The door finally loosened up, and Fiona pushed the handle in. The door opened to reveal a storage room with several supply boxes set on shelves. Fiona turned around and signaled her team to get closer.
Sticks was the first one to rush over, followed by Oscar and Renault. They quickly made their way inside and hid in the area that was dark and closed off.
Fiona and the team listened carefully. She could hear the breathing and a light stepping… along with a strange… swiveling. Fiona's hairs stood up on the back of her neck. There was a security camera inside the building.
"Quiet, ok? I'm going to peak around." Fiona ordered to the others, before looking at Sticks and immediately seeing the defiance in her face, "Please be quiet." She whispered.
Sticks calmed down and sat back, with her hand on her sword if she needed it. Fiona dared to say it was better safe than sorry as she approached the corner of the building and peaked around.
The camera was scanning the area, and had line of sight to the door they had come in at. There was a possibility it had seen them enter.
Fiona slumped down and grumbled, "Alright, we may have been seen." Fiona clarified to the others.
Sticks smiled, and gripped her sword, "Alright, time for me to do what I do best."
Those words were not very well received by Oscar and Renault. Fiona voiced the best course of action, "I'm just saying we need to grab what we need and go. No waiting around and certainly no fighting."
Sticks frowned and slumped, "Fine, Let's get going." She got up to walk out into the area where the camera had line of sight.
Fiona stopped the badger, "Wait, don't go out just yet, let me tell you all when."
Sticks looked agitated, but she stopped, and tapped her sword lightly. Fiona peaked around the corner as the camera turned to face the wall, "Now, let's go!" Fiona barked at the others.
They rushed across to the first set of shelves, which, to Fiona knowledge, obscured them from the camera. Fiona immediately grabbed a box and looked at its label.
Parts. Fiona didn't need that much iron.
She looked at the others and they shook their head, Sticks seeming to increase her period of a foul mood by snarling. They moved further along the shelves, and found more weapons and batteries, but no food.
"There's nothing!" Whispered the angry bear lifting some of the bolts in the box, and lowered them back in carefully.
"There are more shelves!" Fiona growled back, trying to keep him calm. It was becoming harder to keep calm.
"Hold up." Sticks whispered at the team.
They all stopped, with Renault squinting at Sticks. Fiona and Oscar were also confused by her calmness, but… she'd pulled through enough for them to trust her.
Sticks sniffed the air, flicking her nose and causing her ears to flick. She then calmed down, and pointed to the shelf that was in the middle of the three rows that stood perpendicular to their shelves.
They could move around the back of the shelves, so they did that. The camera was only in the corner, being blocked by the first shelf that was closest to the door.
Sticks kept sniffing the air, and began to stroke the top of the boxes, before stopping at a box in the middle of the second shelf. She sniffed again, and recoiled slightly, before tapping at the box, and moving along.
Fiona wedged the box open, and saw some carrots and potatoes in the box. Fiona quickly grabbed a handful of the roots and scooped them into her bag. Oscar did so as well… when the door opened up.
Fiona and the others froze, as the wolf walked in, growling in frustration. Sticks growled softly, and moved her hand to grab her sword and lowered her head, ready to attack.
"Stupid logistics checking-waste-of-time-busy-work chore." The wolf growled, walking towards them.
Fiona, Oscar and Renault immediately moved back, with Stick getting ready to attack. Instead, the wolf began to look over the boxes, and groaned before writing something down. He walked along outside of the first row, and moved slowly.
Sticks moved towards Fiona and the others, getting ready to jump out at the wolf. The wolf continued along, sounding frustrated with the work. Then he turned around the corner as Sticks-
"Hey… I'm in here." Renault coughed from behind the Second shelf.
"What? Why are you out here, Tar? You hate this crap." The wolf recoiled at the sound, "You should be asleep, you're going to be tired on your shift."
"I… Uh, no I won't. Look… I'm just… a little hungry." Renault coughed, and cleared his throat, "Just… I'll do the logistics check… just set the board right there."
The wolf groaned as Sticks relaxed, and seemed upset. The wolf sighed, "Fatass. Fine, I'll take a nap since you won't. I'm only letting this go so I don't have to do this stupid check. Just remember to change the food count to hide your little theft." The wolf dropped the clipboard, and walked out, letting the door close.
Renault sighed, and walked over to pick up the board and paper.
Fiona looked at the others, and growled ,"Grab what we can and lets go!"
They moved quickly, and got out with plenty of food, with the only delay being Renault filling out a fake logistical report. He was insistent, but it would hopefully keep the enemy off their trail.
Hopefully.

So… did Fiona get out without being seen? Who knows?... Me, I know. But I'm not sharing!
Anyway, my Job has been straining my time, so I might be changing over to a bi-weekly system until I can get a handle on my work. Once I hit a rhythm, then I'll bring it back some good chapters. I won't start the bi-weekly posting until after I get this current arc done.
Please leave a review and help keep morale high. Criticism, theories and observations all help. If you want something with less publicity, send me a PM and I'll keep it private/Anonymous depending on the amount of clarification needed. I will respond either in the next chapter or as soon as I can depending on your message type. Thank you.
