A New Mission

It was four months after the debacle at Camp Omega, at the present moment, the jungles of Nicaragua were teeming with the typical wildlife and such, except for one clearing where the sounds were conspicuously absent. It didn't take long for the reason to be revealed as Abby, clad in her sneaking suit, with it's usual equipment such as Vita-Meds, strapped in place, emerged from behind one of the trees and looked around, she crouched down by the tree and took a deep breath. The jungle was hot, there was no denying that, but again the Sneaking Suit proved its worth, moderating her body temperature to avoid too much discomfort. After ensuring there was nobody around, Abby reached up and activated her codec.

"Joel, I'm at the insertion point, what's going on here, why Nicaragua?"

Joel replied quickly. "Sorry there wasn't time for a full briefing, we had to act fast...the problem we have here is that, you're going to be going into this somewhat blind."

"What?" Abby gasped.

"I know, it's crazy but...what I'll be telling you is simply all we have. It's connected to what Yara and Lev found out." Joel told her. "Sadly...it seems Yara had the bulk of the information."

Abby hung her head. "And she took that to her grave."

"All Lev knows is that, this thing they found out, it's taking place here in Nicaragua." Joel explained. "I'm not sure why it took so long but I finally got clearance from the Agency, turns out they have a base in this area which works in our favour."

Abby paused, taking all this in.

All the same she couldn't help but ask.

"How is Lev?"

"He's recovering well." Joel said. "You know that special hospital the Agency sometimes uses for injured agents in Cyprus?"

Abby smiled a little. "Yeah, I'm aware. I was sent there to recover after Outer Heaven."

Joel continued. "Well, he's there, not just to recover from his injuries but for his necessary transition surgeries. His procedures are nearly done too."

"That's great, I just hope I can hear from him soon." Abby said softly, before becoming business-like again. "So, where's this base?"

"To the North." Joel explained. "According to what we were able to gather from reconnaissance and what little Lev was able to tell us, there's an unknown force operating here and they seem to be working on something, but we can't be sure what?"

"So you need me to sneak in and find out what's going on...we only know its something serious because Lev and Yara were taken to that, fucking hell-hole just for finding something out about it." Abby mused. "Alright then, something here stinks, no doubt about that."

"Find out what's really going on here and if the threat is sufficiently dangerous, exercise extreme prejudice in destroying the threat." Joel told her. "Your first order of business however is to get to that Agency base."

Abby looked around the surrounding jungle. "If I encounter any resistance or threats?"

"Usual rules apply, stealth mission, equipment acquired OSP, avoid detection as much as possible. Also, two people were found in the area, apparently ornithologists, at least that's their claim. But apparently they stumbled into this and may have uncovered more direct information, try to find out more about them and learn what you can from them." Joel informed her.

"Okay." Abby confirmed. "I'm ready to go."

With that the codec call ended and Abby readied herself, it was time for the mission to begin.
