Atrapol felt the cold of the mountain he ended up with his Flux Bauble. He was so far away from his rendezvous point that he would use it again soon. Right now, he was busy punching the ground furiously, "Dammit! That human escape me!" he stopped and panted. It was useless to be furious. He felt a bit of pain in his hand and he finally noticed the pain from his burn wound on his face. He stood up, "I failed you my lord," he closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. He could only teleport elsewhere and wait for Lord Van Bloot to join them.
Chapter 22: Results
Van Bloot noticed his soldiers were finally using their Flux Bauble to teleport away. The battle went for long enough and it was his turn to escape. He was covered with bruises on his entire body and burned wounds. He panted as he had trouble moving his right arm. He glared at Chaor. He was wounded while his enemy was fresh for this battle. Still, he knew the other creatures didn't interfere. It was between him and Chaor only. At least, the ruler of the Underworld had a bit of respect for his family.
"Looks like your loyal warriors are deserting you Van Bloot," the red creature grinned as he prepared his next attack.
The harpy glanced back and furiously growled when he saw Rothar coming out with Kaz. He knew something happened. That would wait for the report. He focused on Chaor, "You might have freed the guide to the Cothica Chaor, but I'm sure he will have some questions for you. Anyway," he took out his own Flux Bauble, "They didn't desert me. This is just the beginning," he disappeared when Chaor attacked.
The ruler of the Underworld let out a furious roar the moment the creature escaped his claws once again. He was out of breath for a few seconds. He searched for prisoners. Alas, they made none. Still, Kaz was safe. He noticed another soldier coming out with H'earring. He saw the gremlin creature wasn't in a bad shape. Still, he would need to recover.
He went to his priority, he approached Kaz, "Kazzy. Are you okay?"
"Yeah," he nodded as he crossed his arms. He still didn't have his scanner, "Don't have my scanner yet. Hope they didn't leave with it," he nervously chuckled, "Guess I distracted you from something important."
"Yes," the ruler replied. A small smirk came on his face, "Crushing Van Bloot plan and getting you out of there was worth it."
The boy knew there was more that would remain unsaid. He nodded. He noticed his friends and waved at them.
Chaor wished those two would be gone like Peyton. Still, he bit his tongue and let the boy joined his friends. He glanced at Takinom, "Anything else to report?"
"I sent a few soldiers to search for the scanner. I am not surprise they had an escape plan with their base being so close. I do not expect they would formulate another plan like this again. Still, we cannot leave the city unwatched."
"We'll increase security right now. If he had another stupid idea like this, this would make him think twice before trying to pull this out," he frowned, "No one found anything about those armored creatures yet. We will have to focus on this tribe too," he clenched his hands, "This leaves us open for the other tribes to do something if they wished so," he growled.
Takinom asked, "Is there something else?"
"Yes. Van Bloot opened his mouth a bit too much it seems," he glanced at Kaz. He wondered what were those so called 'truths' the damn harpy told his Kazzy.
"Too much?" Takinom was a bit uncertain what he meant.
"I will ask him later. I do not know what he meant either. We need to find where Van Bloot is and end this once and for all. I regret ever letting him live," he growled. He knew it was too late to change things.
"He will fall once and for all eventually. We know he targets Kaz and he will appear again. We need to find a way to prevent them from reaching the Cothica. If only we could just focus on him, we also have those armored creatures that are lurking around," she crossed her arms as she tried to formulate a way to fight back against both problems.
"We focus on Van Bloot. We have a few ideas where he might be. As for those metal creatures, we will handle them as they come. They are surely spying around. We will take care of them when the opportunity come," the creature glanced at his winged friend, "However, if we find anything about those creatures, we will hunt them down for answers. I need to study the report Khybon sent…" he frowned, "Because there is a lot in that report," he clenched his hands and let out a small smirk, "Something we know first."
Tom and Sarah finished checking if their friend was okay.
"Did anything bad happened while he got you prisoner?" Sarah worryingly asked.
"No. That was weird, but not when he knew I was their 'guide to the Cothica'," Kaz sighed. He was tired of hearing that they came from there. They weren't.
The three had no idea what their real selves discovered on Earth.
Tom asked, "What did he asked you about? What did he tried to get?" he already had an idea it had something to do with their world. He knew Van Bloot probably wanted to reach their world.
Kaz thought back, "He asked if there was a jewel in the Cothica. I have no idea where this comes from. I mean, no other creatures said anything about this. Chaor would have been the first if he suspected anything."
"Guess he hears lies and wanted to believe it was true," she replied.
The boy adjusted his glasses. He glanced at H'earring who talked with Takinom and gave his report about what happened. Chaor glanced towards the teenagers.
"He said a few more things, but I know it wasn't all true," he looked in the eyes of Chaor, "I'll ask Agitos first. Don't want to piss Chaor off."
The red creature came towards them.
"Okay," the two replied as they ended up the subject when the Underworlder was near them.
"I need to know right now what Van Bloot did to you. Because he won't escape next time and I have no intention of letting him try to get to you again," Chaor declared.
"He did nothing big. He wanted me to tell a few things about the Cothica. I… I did say a few things. Nothing vital. Just the boring stuff I do at school and a bit about my town," Kaz admitted. He looked at the creature, "I kinda made it more grandiose to avoid too many questions," he was worried for H'earring and he opened up a bit. He told the true to Chaor. He spoke about the Earth, but only the superfluous stuff or the pointless ones that the creatures had no interest in. He glanced down, "That's what he made me do."
The creature sighed in relief, "As long as you aren't hurt. Still, won't be able to hold my threat and pluck his feathers one by one," he grumbled the second part.
Which the three humans heard. They didn't want any more description of how Chaor would get his revenge on Lord Van Bloot.
Sarah sighed, "I hope this day will end in a good note," she put her hand on her forehead, "With you being free, I'm sure it will."
The boys chuckled together.
"And where is Peyton? I thought he would come here," Kaz asked. He glanced at H'earring once again. He was relieved the small gremlin creature was back on his feet. A little weak, but was healthy.
"It's too risky to go around. The Underworlders wouldn't care if those creatures took him again," Tom answered, "He is taking it seriously."
"Someone you know don't take things like that seriously before," his girlfriend replied with a small grin on her face.
"Drop it already," the boy nervously chuckled. He looked at his best friend, "I'm really glad everything is okay here Kaz. We were worried for you, with many other things that worried us on Earth."
Chaor left them, but still listening carefully to them until he was out of hearing range.
Van Bloot stood in the middle of a cavern. He wasn't sure where he was, but a few of his warriors were there with him. It took a while to find them. He knew not everyone loyal to him was around.
He was both happy and furious at how it turned out. Happy, because he managed to instil something in the mind of Kaz. He clearly saw that the boy had many questions. He might confront Chaor about it. Maybe not. It didn't matter what the boy might do now.
He was also furious. That was because they managed to take Kaz away from him. He just put something at the back of the mind of the boy. He knew it wasn't that much. He wondered what happened to Atrapol. He knew the creature wouldn't release him like that. He fully trusted the creature to do anything he could to succeed in his mission.
For now, he had to focus on later plan, "We go to our rendezvous point and we prepared another battleplan to capture Kaz and find out more about this other tribe."
His soldiers nodded and bowed to him as they went on.
Lord Van Bloot wondered if he could make an alliance with this new tribe. Still, he needed to know everything about them. He couldn't repeat a mistake like he did with the M'arrillians. He had to know enough about them before trying to make contact. He refused to take any risk.
The Codemasters received the important messages from the Earth. They quickly read it and the files that came along with it.
With them, the Messenger of the Cothica, Alexandre also read it. He was a Caucasian man with pale blue eyes, short blond and gray hair and many scars on his face. He wore a black jacket with the image of a dragon on the back, a white shirt and blue jeans. He sighed as he ended his lecture, "Dammit. How did that creature pass here?"
Imthor nodded negatively, "That Titanium didn't pass through Chaotic. He would show up at the portal and didn't have anything that would turn him invisible. Those creatures had the capacity to invent high level of technology based on the Telebracer. The Scanners cannot port someone from one world to another."
"There was one, but also through time. I destroyed it," the man replied. He still found it a bit weird that he could bring this up more casually now.
Hotekk grunted, "Then what is the reason for us to be here if we cannot do anything against a tribe that came and kidnapped someone! He took Peyton and just left!"
"At least, Kaz was rescued from an Underworlder kidnapping. It wasn't those Metalists tribe," Crellan said as he put his hands together.
Alexandre frowned, "Still, I don't like this at all. Even when I was in the past, there was nothing about them. No clues of the existence of another tribe."
"We will need to put more effort on finding the locations of the Metalist tribe and organise a rescue mission once this is possible," Hotekk declared.
Imthor frowned as he raised his hand and replied, "If they managed to come to Earth once, they might do it again. There are also those strange humans in golden clothes that showed up. That is not up to us, but the report said that they could do a few strange things. According to eye witness."
"Creating light out of the blue. They didn't have flashlight or stuff like that," the human commented.
Crellan suggested, "We should wait for further report before we make a decision. I am sure Tom, Sarah and Kaz will come to us for answers and we will give the most we can. Tom and Sarah also witnessed this and we might get more."
"Agreed," the Codemasters replied.
They spoke on the matter a bit more before they were dismissed.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: Steel Bodyguard.
Peyton first day among the Metalist let to him meeting a creature that would be his bodyguard, for his own security. He learned a bit more about the divide among that tribe.
