Here is the redo for my Persona 5 Story. In this story, a female Pokemon Trainer from Alola, who just wants answers about her past, accidentally breaks the barrier between the two worlds and starts flooding the other world with Pokemon. Luckily she made some friends to help her and they need her help to steal some hearts.

13. Chapter 12

Chapter 12; Mementos Region

Location; Integration Room

After telling Sae the first part of the story, she stopped Ren and said. "Another world in which people's distorted cognitions take shape? Stealing treasure to change hearts? Pokemon inside that world. A person in a red clock? And on top of that, a talking cat told you all this?"

"You think I am making this up, aren't you?"

"Honestly speaking, that all sounds absurd. It's hard to believe that this is even worth listening to. Still, it can't be considered nonsense when parts of it align with Kamoshida's confession. The same goes for the testimonies of the officers who arrested you. …But so be it. At any rate, you mentioned something more important. These three other accomplices, besides this talking cat thing that appeared in your story… From what you've been telling me, they're students at the same school, aren't they?"

"Perhaps."

"Perhaps"? …Don't take me for a fool."

"Are you done losing your cool?" Ren said and Sae went silent. Sae then said to Ren after clearing her throat. "Very well. I'll leave it at that. Let's continue on. The questioning isn't over, anyway. If you are making this up, the cracks in your story will prove it. The next to receive a calling card was this individual…" Sae then opened her folder and showed Ren a picture of an old man wearing traditional Japanese clothes. "A master of Japanese arts: Ichiryusai Madarame. It's even more incomprehensible than Kamoshida as to why this man was targeted. Where did you come to know him? And how did you learn of his crimes when you weren't a victim of them?" Sae said and Ren said to her. "We first learned about him from a victim of his during our first dive into Mementos."

"Mementos?" Sae said confused and then Ren told her what happened.

Location; The Velvet Room

After the celebration, everyone went home and once Ren went to sleep, he found himself in the Velvet Room. Ren got up and Igot said to him. "First off… I'd like to begin by congratulating you."

"To think our master would give words of praise…" Justine said before Caroline said. "You better treasure this moment, Inmate!"

"You have encountered allies who share your ideals, and you have found your place in reality. The time has come… Your rehabilitation will soon begin." Igor said and Ren said to Igor. "What rehabilitation?"

"I shall explain it to you now… You have a special potential. However, that must be refined into a useful power. It is weak now, but refining it shall grant you the strength to stand against the coming ruin. …That is the rehabilitation cast upon you."

"Coming ruin?"

"There are various means by which you may gain the power to resist the ruin. Fighting Shadows and gaining experience is one way. However, teaming up with Pokemon will only bring you to the coming ruin."

"What are you talking about?" Ren said before the alarm started to sound. "...The time has come. Return to your brief moments of rest." Justine said and Ren woke up in his room.

Location; Shujin Academy, Aoyama-Itchome

The next day during lunchtime, they all met up and Ryuji said to them looking at the website on his phone. "It ain't much, but we've been getting more postings on the Phantom Aficionado Website.."

"But they are mostly stuff that people could do without us." Aqua said before they heard some girls talking about them. While one of them did believe they were somewhat real, the other did and convinced her friend that they weren't real. And they were more curious about the Pokemon that saved Shiho. As they walked away from them, Ryuji said to everyone. "That's prolly a normal reaction for now, but… they'll see soon enough! If we can take care of two or three famous guys, people'll have to believe we exist."

"So about those big shots… We don't have any leads yet, right?" Ann said and then Aqua said. "No luck. But it doesn't matter right now. After what happened with Kamoshida. All of us are on the radar, thanks to all of the rumors."

"Looks like you'll just have to live a normal, honest school life for the time being. Still, make sure you stay prepared just in case anything comes up, all right?" Morgana said and then Ryuji said. "I'll keep an eye out for info on anything big shots that might be coming around."

"And I'll try to dig up some dirt online." Ann said before Aqua said. "Still, if they are big shots, then it might take some time." Then they all went back to class. Elsewhere in the school, Principle Kobayakawa was meeting with a dignified female student with short brown hair and eyes in his office. "Did you wish to see me, Principal Kobayakawa?" The dignified student said to Kobayakawa, and he said to her. "You saw the state Kamoshida-kun was in, didn't you? It's as if his personality has completely changed. Something is definitely wrong here. I am not just talking about those weird animals that appeared."

"While I understand the need to worry about those animals that appeared and disappeared out of nowhere. I'm not sure I follow…"

"From what I've heard, it appears as though some students were meddling in his business. If they did something to him… Who could they be?"

"Are you saying that these students may have caused Mr. Kamoshida to change?"

"That is what I wish to know… Even if it takes some probing into student matters…"

"I would like you to look into this for me."

"It is true that there are many rumors regarding Mr. Kamoshida, but… Do you mean all of this talk about those Phantom Thieves?"

"It is undeniable that Mr. Kamoshida has changed in some way. I'd like to have a grasp of the cause. This shall also ensure that I handle the mass media and police in the correct fashion."

"Oh…"

"I will continue speaking to Mr. Kamoshida myself. Unless you find whomever did this, these irresponsible rumors will likely never die down. Don't you agree? You have been at the top of your class since day one. Your conduct is good, and teachers favor you. I could write you a recommendation for any college of your choosing, Makoto Niijima."

"Th-Thank you…"

"Your lineage must certainly play a part in this excellence. Your sister is still young, yet she holds an admirable position as the Prosecutor's Office, no? If something disappointing were to happen here, that wouldn't reflect very well on your sister… Do you understand?"

"...Yes."

"Haha, how wise. It's no wonder you're our student council president. I'd appreciate it if you'd look into this as soon as possible. I ask that you begin at once."

"Yes. If you'll excuse me then." Makoto said before leaving the room. Once Makoto was gone, Kamoshida got a call on his phone. Kamoshida answered the call and wanted to know what he was doing to find the Phantom Thieves of Heart. Kamoshida let the man know that he was starting his investigation and would have results soon. Once the call was over, he sighed in relief, because that wasn't the school board, but a group of dangerous people.

After school was over, and back in Ren class. While Ann grabbed Ryuji and Aqua was making her why to the classroom. Mishima walked up to Ren and said. "...Hey. Have you seen that Phantom Aficionado Website?"

"Yes."

"I'm the one who started it."

"What!?"

"Um… You guys are the Phantom Thieves, aren't you?" Mishima said and Ren remained silent. "Actually on second thought, you don't need to tell me. But I will keep this a secret." Mishima said before Ren said. "Why did you make that website?"

"Kamoshida used me, and I did some horrible things to you guys. This isn't much of a way for me to apologize for it… But if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know!"

"That's great, but…"

"I'm glad to hear that. It's not just Kamoshida… There are tons of evil adults out there. But I'm sure the Phantom Thieves will do something… They can't let this end after just one target. That's why I wanted to make a forum where people could post their problems. There are probably a lot of people who have high hopes for the Phantom Thieves next move. So I've also implemented an anonymous poll on the site. I wanna work on this forum so eventually it'll be packed with tons of supportive posts. I'd really like to help out in the Phantom Thieves act of justice! Can I, please?"

"It's up to you…"

"In that case, I'll just do what I want. See you." Mishima said before leaving the classroom. Then Ren's friend appeared and Ryuji said to Ren. "We heard all of that. Geez… It was a little awkward trying to figure out when to walk over here."

"So that forum is Mishima-kun's…" Ann said before Morgana said. "Has he figured out our identities?"

"Most likely, but I don't think it is a problem. He seems to be our biggest supporter. He won't tell anyone, but Ren. Since he looked up to the lead of our team. Can you keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't blow our cover."

"You got it." Ren said and Morgana said. "Still, a forum where people can post problems may prove unexpectedly useful."

"Anyways, we gotta get looking for a new target." Ryuji said and then Ann said. "And we need to stay sharp until we manage to find one. Once we do, we'll have to head into another Palace, so we should prep our equipment and—"

"Wait, oh CRAP!" Ryuji yelled, surprising them. Ann then said to him. "What's with you!?"

"Don't we have an exam coming up!?"

"...Judging by that reaction, I'd assume you're going to struggle this time too?" Ann said before Aqua said. "Why are you panicking Ryuji?"

"Don't you know what an exam is?" Ryuji said and Aqua said. "Yeah, we don't have those in my world."

"I want to go live in the Pokemon world." Ryuji said and looked like he was going to cry. Aqua turned to Ren and he said. "Just study the material you collected in class and you should be fine. Both of you."

"Please, Ryuji note taking skill is questionable at best." Morgana said and Ryuji said to him. "What's questionable is whether you're really even a human."

"...Let's discuss this with our fists!"

"Bring it!"

"Will you two stop it!?" Ann and Aqua said getting in between them.

The next day after school, they all hang out on the roof with their Pokemon playing while they talk about their next target. "None of these posts are any good. Everyone's just bitching about parents or their boyfriends. There ain't even a hint of a hint about a new Palace…" Ryuji said and then Aqua said while looking at the website. "Yeah, oh wait. What about this one? "I don't know what to do about my ex who's stalking me. His name is Natsuhiko Nakanohara." It also says that he is a teller at City Hall. Could that work?"

"Yes. Everyone return your Pokemon to their Pokeballs and follow me." Morgana said and while they were confused they did it and just as they were about to leave, Makoto appeared. Ann was very surprised to see her and Makoto said after walking up to them. "This place is off-limits, you know."

"Well, we're just leaving. By the way, who are you?"

"I am Makoto Niijima, the Student Council President. And you must be Aqua Kangofu?"

"And how do you know me?"

"You're known for not only being a foreign exchange student, but you also hang out with the troublemaker, the center of gossip, and the infamous transfer student. You four make an interesting combination."

"Hey, if you are trying to be friendly. I've seen Carvanha friendlier than you."

"Carvanha?"

"Uh… forget I said anything. We are leaving anyway. Come on guys." Aqua said before grabbing everyone's bag then pushed everyone through the door. "She must know what's going on with the Phantom Thieves, those animals or maybe even both." Makoto said after they were all gone.

Location; Shibuya, Station Square

"I have a feeling that girl might be on us. She seems rather sharp. We should be cautious of her." Morgana said, looking right at Aqua. Aqua knew what Morgana was talking about and said. "Sorry. It just came out. People in my home use Pokemon characteristics to make points sometimes."

"It's fine Aqua. Now Morgan, why did you bring us here?" Ren said to Morgana and Morgana said to them. "First get the Meta-Nav ready."

"We're just gonna jump right into a Palace? Fine by me!" Ryuji said, pulling out the Meta-Nav. Ann then said to Ryuji and Morgana. "Hey, what happened to all that talk of "unanimous decision"? What do you think we should do, Ren?"

"Let go." Ren said before Ryuji said in excitement. "That's what I'm talking about!"

"And I'm ready." Aqua said and then Ann said. "Okay then. Let's go."

"We need a name and a place, right? So the name is…" Ryuji said as he put in the name. And just before Ryuji could ask about the place, Morgana stopped him and said. "Actually, we don't need a location this time. Just enter exactly what I say. The keyword is… "Mementos."

"Huh? What're you trying to pull?"

"Just listen to me. It should work… I think."

"Geez, that again? Uhhh… "M-e-m-e-n-t-o-s," was it?" Ryuji said and they got a hit. Then the whole area turned red, but unlike the times the Person in Red appeared, the people around them disappeared. Aqua then said to Morgana. "Morgana what just happened?"

"We are in Mementos, or at the very least above it."

"So this is that Nakanohara guy's Palace?" Ryuji said to Morgana and Morgana said. "That's half right, but half wrong. This is a type of Palace, but it's different from the normal ones. Come on, let's head down. The Shadows here lurk underground. I don't quite understand why. It may be because they're drawn to something."

"Underground? How are we going to get there?" Ann said before Morgana said. "How? You use it every day on your way to school. Follow me!" Morgana then went down the steps and entered the subway station. The other followed him down the steps.

Location; Mementos

Once they reached the bottom of the steps, not only was the area a red, but it had vines coming out of the ground. And unknown to them, they were in their Phantom Thief outfits. "The hell is this place?" Skull said before he noticed the clothes changed. He then said. "Wait, our clothes changed!?"

"The Shadows know we're here!?" Panther said before they all looked at Mona and he said. "Since the moment we stepped in."

"You should've told us!" Skill said and Mona said. "We're still safe right here. I've come to investigate a number of times. Shadows never come up to this floor. But it's a different story once you go down. This place is simply teeming with them."

"More importantly, what is this Mementos!?" Panther said before Keeper said. "Yeah. Can you please start explaining."

"Mementos is… everyone's Palace." Mona said and then Skull said. "Huh? Whaddya means, "everyone's"?"

"A Palace as grand as the previous castle only forms when a person's wishes are extremely distorted. So, instead of many individual Palaces, the general public has one gigantic shared Palace. That's where we are now… Mementos." Mona said before Panther said. "Now that you mention it, this place feels a bit different from Kamoshida's Palaces…"

"When you say shared… you mean they're all put together? Even though they're just strangers?" Skull said and then Mona said. "Think of it as the collective unconscious… No, never mind. You wouldn't understand that."

"No, I get it. We can change the hearts of people who don't have a Palace in this place." Keeper said before Mona said. "Correct! The steps to do so are slightly different though."

"But this place looks pretty huge. Are we gonna be able to get around just by walking?" Skull said and Mona said to them after he moved to an open area. "It seems the time has finally come… Morganaaa… transfoooooorm!" Mona then jumped into the air and turned into a mini-bus. That surprised everyone and Mona said to them. "Come now, Panther. Ladies first."

"Mona, how in the Reverse Dimension can you do that?" Keeper said and Mona said. "This comes from the way cognition materializes in the Metaverse, plus a bit of extra training. It's not dissimilar to how you guys transform."

"You turning into a car is totally different than our clothes changing!" Skull said before Mona said. "For some reason, "cats turning into buses" is an extremely widespread cognition among the general public."

"Why a bus though?" Panther said and Mona said. "...No idea."

"Wait, why didn't you do this at the castle!?" Skull said and Mona said as Skull went to one of the doors. "I would have if I could! But that castle was cramped, there were tons of stairs, and no way this fits on top of a chandelier!"

"Hey, Skull! Ladies first!" Panther said as she and Skull started fighting to be the first one inside. Mona felt them fight and he was not happy. After a while, Joker, Skull, and Panther were in the backseats and Keeper was in the driver seat. And while Mona was now a car, he needed someone to drive him. Luckily for them, Keeper had some driving experience and knew the basics. And as they drove through Mementos, they felt weird with each turn. Keeper then stopped when they found a group of big shadows with blank masks all over their back and chest attacking a pile of Pokemon.

In the pile of Pokemon they saw a little light brown owl with a green tie, a green sludge creature with a yellow ring around its mouth, a dark gray cat on two legs, a unicorn from fairy tales, and a small oil black color Pokemon. As Mona turned to normal, Joker said to Keeper. "Keeper, do you know those Pokemon?"

"Yes." Keeper said as they started to attack the shadows attacking the Pokemon. "The owl is a Rowlet, the sludge is a Gimer, the cat is a Meowth. All from my home region. But I don't know about the other two." Keeper said as she was blocking a shadow from attacking the small oil black Pokemon with her spear. Then the others then help. Joker saved Rowlet, Mona saved Meowth, Skull saved Gimer, and Panther saved the unicorn. After the battle was done, the Pokemon were happy to be saved. Keeper then pulled out Rotom and said. "Rotom, can you tell us about this Pokemon?"

"Gladly." Rotom said as he started to call off the Pokemon, starting with the Rowlet. "Rowlet, the Grass Quill Pokemon. At a distance, it launches its sharp feathers while flying about. If the enemy gets too close, Rowlet switches tactics and delivers vicious kicks." Rotom then flew to Grimer."Grimer, Alola Form, The Sludge Pokemon. There are a hundred or so of them living in Alola's waste-disposal site. They're all hard workers who eat a lot of trash." Rotom then went to the Meowth. "Meowth, Alola Form, The Scratch Cat Pokemon. Highly intelligent and prideful, it's famously difficult to handle—but that's also a reason for its popularity." Rotom then went to the unicorn. "Ponyta, Galarian Form, The Unique Horn Pokemon. Its small horn hides a healing power. With a few rubs from this Pokemon's horn, any slight wound you have will be healed." Rotom then went to the last Pokemon. "Wooper, Paldean Form, The Poison Fish Pokemon. After losing a territorial struggle, Wooper began living on land. The Pokémon changed over time, developing a poisonous film to protect its body."

"Hey, what is with the forms added to the Pokedex stuff?" Skull said before Keeper said. "Some regions' natural land or history cause Pokemon to change into something new. Like Grimer. In my home region it is a Dark and Poison Type, but anywhere else it is only a Poison Type."

"Ok, so now what do we do?" Panther said and Joker said. "I think we should ask them if they want to join us or what they want to do." Joker then turned to them. "So do you want to join us?"

[I'm with you.] Rowlet said with a male voice, landing on Joker's right shoulder. [You saved me, so I'll join too.] Wooper said in a male voice walking over to Keeper. [I'll join the hunk.] Grimer said with a female voice and had hearts in her eyes at Skull. [And I will help you.] Ponyta said in a female voice walking over to Panther. [And I joined the leisure cat.] Meowth said, stepping on Nincada and then Mona heads. After they all caught their new Pokemon. Mona then turned back into a bus, not really happy with his new Pokemon.

After driving for a while, and getting to know their new Pokemon. They soon found a red portal with two tracks swirling into it. They all looked at the portal and Skull said. "Dude, the hell is this? It's all wavy and shit."

"This is the place… I sense the target up ahead." Mona said and Keeper said. "Ok, then hang on everyone." She then drove through the portal and on the other side was just a man in a suit surrounded by a dark order. Once Mona returned to normal, Keeper said to him. "Is that Nakanohara's Shadow?"

"Yes." Mona said and then they all walked up to him, with their new Pokemon out and Frigibax was watching them with Nincada. Shadow Nakanohara saw them and said. "Who are you!?"

"Are you that stalker!? Haven't you ever stopped to consider how your ex feels?" Panther said and Shadow Nakanohara said to her. "She's my property! I can do whatever I want with her! It's not like she didn't treat me like a plaything! What's wrong with me doing the same!?"

"You can't treat someone like shit just because they did it to you! What a load of crap… We're gonna change the hearts of all the bastards like you!" Skull said before Shadow Nakanohara said. "There are millions of people far worse than me! What about Madarame…? He stole everything from me, but you're letting him off the hook!?"

"Who's Madarame?" Keeper said, which made Shadow Nakanohara even more angry. He then turned into a small demon shadow with come hair and a hole threw his chase. Shadow Nakanohara then said before attacking them. "Now that I finally have what's rightfully mine… I'm not going to let you take it away…" Shadow Nakanohara then jumped at them and hit Grimer, but then Shadow Nakanohara felt sick. Skull looked at Keeper and said. "What just happened?"

"Grimer has Poison Touch. If she is hit by a physical move, then the target may be poisoned. And on that note, Wooper! Poison Tail!" Wooper and Keeper then slashed Shadow Nakanohara with a purple tail from Wooper and Keeper spear. But that didn't do anything. "He must be strong against physical attacks." Mona said as Meowth used Bite on Shadow Nakanohara and ignored Mona. Shadow Nakanohara stopped attacking and all of the thieves took off their mask and hit Shadow Nakanohara with an energy attack. Shadow Nakanohara could not handle all of the back to back attacks, plus the poison, so he returned to normal.

After Shadow Nakanohara returned to normal, he said to them. "I-I'm sorry… Please forgive me… I-I couldn't stop obsessing… N-Not after this person I trusted used me and then disposed of me."

"Was it this Madarame guy you mentioned earlier, did he cause you to start thinking like this?" Joker said and Shadow Nakanohara said. "Yes. I… was afraid of being thrown away again like some worthless thing."

"So some selfish bastard was making you suffer too… Still, you shouldn't have dragged an unrelated woman in your mess." Panther said and Shadow Nakanohara said. "Yes, I know that now. I'll put an end to my love for her… Hey, you can change people's hearts, right?"

"Yes, we can." Mona said and then Shadow Nakanohara said. "In that case… Won't you change Madarame's heart!? Before more people fall victim to him…"

"We will." Joker said and Shadow Nakanohara disappeared in a blue light and the only thing left was a little ball of light. They all looked at the ball and Skull said. "What's that shining thing?"

"It's the bud of a Treasure. Had we left it be, it very well may have blossomed into a Palace. Joker, this will make a perfect reward!" Mona said and Joker took the Treasure, which turned into a pearl. Skull then said to Mona. "So Nakanohara had a change of heart, right?"

"Most likely." Mona said and Panther said. "But how are we supposed to know if we succeeded?"

"The lady might post something on the website to let us know if it worked." Keeper said and then Mona said. "Hm, you do have a point."

"Either way, training against Shadows down here's the best! It's great prep for our next target!" Skull said before Panther said. "It's also nice to be able to give courage to the people who post their problems online."

"On top of that, we can sell whatever treasure we get for some cold, hard cash!" Mona said and then Skull said. "Sounds like things are going pretty great for us!"

"Yeah, so are we done here?" Keeper said before Mona said. "No. There is somewhere I want to show you guys before we leave."

"You are not going anywhere else." A female voice said and they all turned around and saw the Person in Red and the portal back turned blue. Keeper walked up to the Person in Red, as Frigibax ran to Joker and Nincada jumped to Mona, and said. "What do you mean?"

"That cat, what to see if you can go deeper into Mementos. And since this is everyone's Palace and you are somewhat known. The path way down is unlocked."

"So I was right?" Mona said before the Person in Red said. "Yes, oh and this is for you." She then pulled out a little belt that had two Pokeballs. The Person in Red threw it to Mona and said. "That belt will allow you to hold and use Pokeballs outside of the Metaverse. And since you all are still weak please leave, the portal will take you back to the surface."

"No, we are going to go as far as we can go." Mona said with Nincada joining him and Meowth backing away. "I am trying to keep you all alive, but if I must. Then I will." The Person in Red said pulling out an Ultra Ball. "You have a Pokemon too?!" Keeper said as the Person in Red threw her Pokeball and out came a Pokemon with a sliver metal body metal, a gray hex-nuts in the center of the body, black hex-nuts for shoulders, hands and feet, and gold hex for neck and face, plus a small black ball for an eye in the center of the face. It then said with a hint of male and female in its voice. [I am ready to help you, my lady.]

"Rotom, what is that Pokemon?" Keeper said and Person in Red then said. "Allow me to tell you. This is Melmetal, The Hex Nut Pokemon. Centrifugal force is behind the punches of Melmetal's heavy hex-nut arms. Melmetal is said to deliver the strongest punches of all Pokémon."

"Really?" Skull said before The Person in Red said. "Melmetal, use Mega Punch on Skull." Melemetal then launched his right hand at Skull. Skull then took off his mask and used Captain Kidd to counter Melemetal's attack. But it didn't work and Skull got trapped between Captain Kidd and the wall. Once Captain Kidd was gone, Skull fell to the ground and was in so much pain. Luxio then jumped out of his Pokeball and said to Melmetal. [Why did you do that?!]

[My lady said it, then I must do it.] Melmetal said showing that while it did have a mind of its own, it was very loyal to the Person in Red. "Everyone bring out your Pokemon! We are going to need all of the help we can get if we are to stop her." Mona said and the others agreed. So it was the Person in Red and Melmetal vs the Phantom Thieves and their Pokemon. The Person in Red then said with a smile. "Oh what are we going to do? Oh, right. Melmetal, use Earthquake!"

[Yes, ma'am!] Melmetal said starting to stomp one foot after another, creating an earthquake that hit everyone, but the Person in Red. Once it was over Skull, Luxio, Grimer, Brionne, Phanpy, Wooper, Rockruff, Zorua, Frigibax, Nincada, Meowth, Litleo, and Ponyta were out cold. Joker, Keeper, Mona, and Panther, were hurt, but still ok. The only ones ok were Fletchinder and Rowlet. The Person in Red then said to all of them as she walked over to them. "See, if one move can bring you all down to your knees, then you have no hope for what is sleeping in the heart of this place. But don't worry, you can come in here and train and stuff, just as long as you don't go past my safety lines." The Person in Red then casted a healing spell on Skull and Keeper watch. Skull woke up and the Person in Red said. "Now take your Pokemon and go home. Rest, study, and prepare for new challenges." All of them then returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs, and Mona put Nincada and Meowth inside his new Pokeballs. As everyone walked through the portal, The Person in Red said. "Oh and before you go. Take this." The Person in Red then gave Joker another Pokeball and a bag of Crystals. Joker took them and went through the portal with the others. Once they were gone, Melmetal said to the Person in Red. [Ma'am, why didn't you use them to stop the evil that lives here?]
