"Grandfather!" Armond said in French as he ran to Aramis and Aramis lifted him up then hugged him.

"Are you alright?" Aramis asked in French.

"We had to stay in a holding cell."

Aramis glared at Connor and Murphy as Murphy walked to Nikki, who was sitting on the floor, and Murphy lifted her into his arms. Aramis was surprised that she wasn't frightened. Instead, she giggled as Murphy lightly tickled her and he softly moved her hands away from the hood.

"You wouldn't have been placed in there if you hadn't run off," Aramis scolded in French and Armond lowered his head.

"Yeah, you little shit. Thanks to you, we might be going to war with the Church," Jac said in French and Armond started shaking.

"Hey! Leave him alone!" Caroline said in French.

"You're the reason he ran off! We should've killed you the day you and your brother arrived at the Tower!"

"Then we would be at war," Murphy said in French after handing Niki to Katherine, walked to Caroline then slid his right hand over her left hand.

"She's your woman?" Aramis asked as he noticed how Caroline was shyly smiling at Murphy.

"Yes. She is," he said then lowered his head. "We were separated when the world fell."

"Are we gonna go to war, Grandfather?" Armond asked in French.

"Seeing how you and your friends are safe, no," Aramis said in French.

"Can we go home now?"

"Yes."

"You are going to get it when we do get home," Jac said in French.

"What are you talking about?" Caroline asked in French.

"None of your business."

"If the child is going to be in danger, I think it would be best if he stays here," Murphy said in French as he looked at Aramis.

"We do not believe in harming children. The worst thing that will happen is he will have extra chores to do for a few weeks," Aramis said in French. Caroline heard the truth in his voice as she nodded and Jac growled, rolling his eyes.

"Shit! Of course, he's going to get away with it! If it had been me….!" Jac said in French and tosses his arms in the air.

"Hold your tongue. You should be grateful that you and your friends aren't still in a holding cell. Not after the last time you were here. Or did you forget tossing garbage at our guards and breaking parts of the Holy Rose?!" Katherine asked in French and Jac growled, flexing his fingers.

Connor explained in German to Caroline what happened and she, in turn, explained to the others and Daryl glared at Jac.

"Is Jac gonna be put in a holding cell?" Armond asked Aramis in French.

"No," Aramis said in French then he placed Armond down on his feet. Armond ran to Caroline as they hugged then he ran to Daryl and Daryl looked down at him.

"No more gettin' into trouble," Daryl said as he knelt down on his haunches and Caroline translated. Nodding, Armond hugged Daryl then he went to say goodbye to Judith, RJ and Hershel. He ran to Aramis as Aramis picked him up, turned and headed for the door.

Connor walked to Jac as Jac locked eyes with him and saw the hard look in Connor's eyes.

"Word of warning. You and your friends are to leave your brother alone. If anything happens to him, and I mean anything, all of you will end up back here in holding cells for the rest of your lives," Connor said softly in French.

Jac knew Connor was serious as Jac turned, walked to his grandfather and brother and Aramis opened the door. The guard led them down the hallway while the other guard closed the door and Connor and Murphy looked at the others.

"Guess introductions are in order," Murphy said with a smile.

"Seeing how you're dressed? You are Cardinal and Bishop right?" Mike asked.

"That's what they call us. But my real name is Murphy. This is my brudder, Connor."

"This is my wife, Katherine," Connor said.

"Hello," Katherine said.

"And these little monkeys are Chandler, Peter, Mark and Nikki."

"Pleased to meet you," Carol said as she looked at the kids. She introduced the others and Mercer noticed the suspicious look Katherine gave him.

"How did you meet Caroline?" Maggie asked as she looked at Connor and Murphy.

"She pulled a gun on me when I tried t'get into her apartment," Murphy said with a grin.

"You what?!" Negan asked, looking at Caroline.

"I think we should sit down. It's a long story," Caroline said and she felt a blush moving across her cheeks. They sat on the couches, chairs or the floor as she, Connor and Murphy took turns telling how they met and the kids giggled from time-to-time.

"After that, we were inseparable," Caroline said while sitting next to Murphy on the couch.

"Um…. Mister Connor? Why do you and Mister Murphy still have your hoods up?" Peter asked and Connor and Murphy lowered the hoods.

"Hey! You look like those guys in the photos Aunt Caroline showed us," RJ said with a grin.

"You showed them photos of us?" Connor asked.

"Yep," Caroline said with a nod.

"If you don't mind me asking. How did you two get the monickers Cardinal and Bishop?" Negan asked. Connor and Murphy explained and Negan nodded his head a few times.

"But they don't wanna do it anymore," Daryl said, sliding his right arm around Carol's shoulders.

"He's right," Connor said. "We'd rather go home."

"You mean Ireland?" Mike asked.

"Nah. We wanna go home with Caroline," Murphy said.

"What about you, Jeffrey? You wanna go with us?" Caroline said and Carol, Maggie and Negan looked at Jeffrey. Carol was the first to notice the family resemblance between him and Rick and her eyes slightly widened.

"Who are you?" Carol asked.

"I'm Jeffrey. Jeffrey Grimes," Jeffrey said.

"Grimes?!" Maggie said with a shocked look.

"Sounds like you know that name."

"We do. Are you related to Rick?" Carol asked.

"Rick's my brother.

"Oh shit," Negan grumbled.

"Daryl said he was with your group."

"He was," Carol said.

"Daryl also said you haven't seen Rick in a long time. If you need any help looking for him, I'm more than willing to help out."

Carol heard the truth in his words as she nodded and Daryl saw the plastic containers sitting near the door. He glanced over at Maggie when she saw the look in his eyes and she stood. Daryl stood while they walked to the plastic containers and she looked at the plastic containers.

"What's in here?" Maggie asked.

"It's the information you wanted," Daryl said.

"You mean about the virus and if there might be a cure?"

"Yeah."

"Where did you find it?"

"Some of it was given to us by a local scientist. The rest? We found that in Barcelona."

"We need to take it with us."

"Problem is we don't have anyone who could make heads or tails of it."

"Eugene might."

Daryl smiled as the look on Eugene's face when they gave him the information appeared in his head and Daryl lightly shook his head.

"You think it's a good idea to take Jeffrey with us? If he finds out about what we did….," Maggie said and Daryl sighed.

"What we did had to be done," Daryl said.

"And what about Negan?"

"Didn't think you cared about what happened to him."

"I don't. Just don't like the idea of Jeffrey doing something to Anne or Carl."

"He ain't like that."

"What about Murphy, Katherine, Connor and those kids? Think they'll have a problem fitting in?"

"Katherine's the doctor who patched up Caroline after she got shot. Those kids are really smart. Murphy and Connor… They're…"

"They're what?"

"They're good with a gun."

Maggie knew when to not push Daryl as she nodded and they walked back to the others.

"Anyone hungry?" Connor asked and the kids raised their hands. "Besides you."

"I think we should have something to eat before we leave," Carol said.

"We need to stop at the Tower and get our stuff," Lance said.

"We can supply you with whatever you need," Katherine said.

"Do you have any vehicles? I think Aramis took the cart," Carol said.

"As Daryl and Caroline know, we don't usually allow strangers to take our vehicles."

"You could drive us there," Negan said.

"Let's talk it over while we eat," Connor said as he pointed to the doors and they headed for the doors. Daryl opened the doors after Connor and Murphy pulled the hood back up and the guards bowed as they walked by them.

The Eiffel Tower

The room was dark as Jac slept on his stomach and his fingers flexed on the pillow.

When they had returned to the Tower, Elisbeth had scolded Armond for running off and told him he was going to be doing extra chores for the next six months. Armond apologized to not only her, but the camp and Jac couldn't believe they all forgave him.

Jac balled his right hand into a fist as he punched the pillow and growled.

In his mind, a nightmare spread out before him.

He had nightmares before, but seeing everything in a blue tint and feeling the icy wind moving over him was new.

"Hello," made him turn and the Blue Lady stood behind him.

"Who are you?!" he demanded in French.

"I am the Blue Lady," she said in French then she pointed toward the view in front of them. "Look! This is your doing!"

Jac looked at the burning buildings, the smoke rising from the sky and the Macabre moving through the wreckage. He moved a little closer as his heart slammed in his chest when he saw the Macabre were people from the Tower, his friends, his grandfather, nis mother and his brother.

"I… I didn't do this!" he said in French.

"You did. Your anger. Your resentment. It consumed you. You declared war on everyone and everything thing," she said in French and his eyes widened.

"No!"

"Your first victim was him!" she said in French, pointing at Armond. His head was at an odd angle. He was bare foot and wearing jeans and a tattered t-shirt. He snapped at Jac as he moved by him and Jac backed up.

"I… I wouldn't kill him!" Jac said in French.

"You did! When your mother found out, you killed her!"

Elisbeth had dried blood on the front of her sundress and she growled then snapped at him.

"Then you killed your grandfather!"

Aramis had a large bloodstain on his shirt and he stumbled toward Jac, snapping his jaws. Jac suddenly realized he couldn't move and his mother, brother and grandfather attacked.

"No!" Jac shouted in French as he sat up and his heart slammed and squeezed in his chest. It took a few seconds for him to realize he was still in his room and he pulled his legs up.

"Jac?" came from the doorway. He saw Armond standing in the doorway then his little brother ran to the bed. Jac nearly climbed up the wall as Armond got onto the bed and Jac could see his face in the dim light.

"Are you alright?" Armond asked in French. Jac noticed the sadness in his little brother's eyes and he moved closer.

"Are you?" he asked in French.

"Yes. No. I'm…," he said in French then sighed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to almost cause a war. I just… I just wanted to be a hero. Like you."

"Like me?!"

"Yeah. You're always do cool things."

Jac rolled his eyes as he smiled and shook his head.

"I get in trouble for most of it," Jac said in French.

"But you get to do them," Armond said in French with a frustrated voice.

"You're right. But what you did was still dangerous," he said in French and frowned. "Like when you climbed up the Tower. Do you have any idea how scared I was?"

"You didn't look scared. You looked angry. You're always angry with me."

"That's because Grandfather and Mama treat you like you're something special."

"I'm not."

"Yeah. You are," he said in French as Armond went to sit next to him and Jac slid his right arm over his small shoulders. "You want to know why I'm so hard on you?"

"Yes."

"It's because you have to be tough to make it out there. Those things…. Those things don't care who you are. What you are. All they care about is…."

"Eating me," Armond said in French with a nod.

"Did you know Papa was turned into one?"

"No. I didn't."

"I didn't either. All I knew was Papa had been out on a raid, but didn't come back. A few days later, I went out with my friends. We didn't care where we were going or what we were going to do. We entered this building. The roof had collapsed. We went searching for whatever we could find. That's when I heard growling. I turned to look at the rubble on the floor and… And that is when I saw it."

"A Macabre?"

"It wasn't just any Macabre. It was Papa. He had gotten trapped when the roof collapsed. They had left him there."

"Really?!" Armond asked in French with wide eyes.

"He is telling the truth," Aramis said in French from the doorway and they looked at him. He walked to the bed as he sat down on the edge of the bed and he sighed. "When your papa's team returned, they told me what happened. They couldn't get him out. He told them to go."

"Does Mama know?" Jac asked in French.

"Yes. She does. She demanded I got get him. The problem was we didn't have the equipment to move the rubble. Even if we had gotten him free, he would have died before we got back."

"What did you do with Papa?" Armond asked in French as he looked at Jac.

"I had my knife. He must have known what I was going to do because he didn't move. I rammed the blade in his head a few times then we left," Jac said in French.

"Does that mean you were his hero?"

"I guess."

"That's what I mean when I said I want to be like you."

"But I'm not your hero. That's Mister Daryl."

"Well….," Armond said in French with a small grin. "He's my hero, but he's not my hero hero. That's always been you."

Aramis softly laughed at the shocked look on Jac' face as Armond hugged his big brother and Jac wrapped his arms around him.

"Love you, Jac," Armond whispered in French.

"Love you, too, you little brat," Jac whispered in French then Armond moved back. "But no more going off and doing dangerous shit. That's my job."

Armond and Aramis laughed as Jac smiled and Jac ruffled his little brother's hair.

Paris - Notre Dame Cathedral

The fire in the fireplace crackled while the children slept on the floor in sleeping bags and Dog slept near them.

Connor had talked Carol and the others into spending the night and had given Negan, Maggie, Mercer, Mike, Dawsons and Hornsby some man-made houses to sleep in.

In Murphy's bedroom, Caroline snuggled against Murphy and he brushed the hair out of her eyes. She moved her right index finger over his bottom lip as he shivered then he kissed the tip of her finger.

"Has Katherine picked someone to take her place at the hospital?" Caroline asked.

"Yeah. Anne-Marie. She's a great doctor," Murphy said.

"Who's gonna take over fer you and Connor?"

"Remy and Louis. They're th'same height and build as we are. Same eye and hair color. With th' robes on and th'hoods up, no one will know th'difference. They also have long hair and full beards."

Caroline moved her hand back as she placed her head on the center of his chest and his heart softly thrummed in her ear.

"Do you remember what we were gonna do before we separated?" he asked.

"We were gonna go to Ireland," she said.

"I told Da I was gonna take you home so you could meet Ma."

"You think she woulda liked me?"

He knew she was closing down as he gently rubbed her left upper arm and she looked up at him.

"Hell yeah. I called her before I went t'see you. She more or less told me I had t'bring you home so she could greet you properly."

She heard the truth in his words as his voice vibrated in her ear and his chest expanded as he sighed.

"Would we have gone to live at the homestead?" she asked.

"Nope. Told Da there was no way in hell I'd put you through livin' out in th'middle of nowhere."

"He must have loved that," she said and he snorted a laugh.

"He laughed. Told me he couldn't see you livin' there either," he said and she heard sadness in his voice.

"What aren't you tellin' me?" she asked as she looked up at him. She waited for Murphy to answer when the door opened and Nikki walked in the room. She stood next to the bed while Caroline and Murphy sat up and Nikki climbed up on the bed. She snuggled next to Murphy as he held her and Caroline saw the worried look in Nikki's eyes. "What's wrong, Sweetie?"

"I can't find Ebony. I think we left him behind," Nikki said with a small whimper.

"Hold on," Caroline said as she got out of bed and she walked to the backpacks. She knelt down in front of the child's backpack with unicorns on it when she opened the backpack, reached inside then stood up. She walked back to the bed when she got back under the covers and Nikki smiled when she saw her toy cat in Caroline's hands. "Never leave a friend behind."

"Yeah," she said as Caroline handed Ebony to her and Nikki held the toy cat against her chest.

"Ok. It's late. Go back t'bed," Murphy said.

"I'm not sleepy."

"Hmph."

Murphy moved the bedding back as he carefully got out of bed, picked her up and Murphy and Nikki left the room. Caroline moved her legs up as she looked at the doorway then she moved the bedding back and she got out of bed. She walked to the doorway when she leaned against the doorframe and she watched Murphy walking back and forth with Nikki in his arms. Caroline could just hear him humming the song he used to put her to sleep when she was scared and she saw Nikki's eyes were closing.

"You are such a good daddy," Caroline whispered as she kicked off the doorframe and went back in the bedroom.

In Daryl's bedroom, Carol stood at the window while she looked out at the darkness and she could barely see the lights coming from the buildings. She thought about Daryl and Caroline's adventures and their meeting with Anton Du Monte.

"Could it be possible? Could there be a cure?" she thought while Daryl walked up behind her and she turned to look at him.

"You good?" he asked. He was wearing only his jeans and he had his arms crossed over his stomach.

"Yeah. Just thinking," Carol said.

He moved closer as he pulled her into a hug and she placed her head against his right shoulder. She felt the warmth coming from him as she thought about how solid he felt and she made a shaky sigh.

"What's wrong?" Daryl asked.

"You're here," she said and he frowned. "What I mean is I thought I would never see you again. That I finally lost you. Just like I lost Ed. Henry. Sophia."

"I ain't dead."

"No. But you were gone and I had no idea where you were. I didn't know if you were alive or if you were ever coming back."

"Hmph."

"Jeb…."

"What about him?"

"He knew I was… That I had started to…"

"You were givin' up."

"Yeah," she said with a nod. "I guess old habit really do die hard. I knew you and Caroline were going to be ok. But a part of me had started to wonder if that was true."

"She got shot."

"Right. I told Jeb I didn't believe it when he said she was alive."

"How did he take that?"

"He was a little pissed off at me," she said and he smiled. "I also told him I thought you had been sold into slavery and was who knows where."

"Hmph."

"That is why I'm so glad that I was wrong. That you're here and Caroline is alive."

Nodding, Daryl leaned in for a kiss and she held his head in her hands. She deepened the kiss as he moved back and he looked at the bed. She knew what he wanted, but she was so tired. Not just from traveling around, looking for him and Caroline, but from the tension she had felt over the last few weeks.

"Guess we should go to bed," Carol said.

"Yeah," he said with a nod. He led her to the bed as he moved the bedding back and she sat on the edge of the bed. She removed her boots and socks as she placed the boots on the floor and she went to spread out on the bed. Daryl walked around to the other side of the bed as she moved the bedding back and he went to spread out on the bed. She moved the bedding up to his waist when she snuggled against him and he wrapped his right arm around her. She placed her head on his right shoulder then placed the palm of her right hand on his chest and she felt his chest expanding as he sighed.

"I fergot to tell you somethin'," he said.

"What did you want to tell me?" she asked.

"I love you."

"I love you, too."

Daryl yawned as his body started to relax and he felt Carol lightly spreading her fingers over a spot on his chest. A cool shiver moved through him and he wrapped his arms around her.

"Connor's gonna let us use a few trucks," he grumbled.

"That's nice of him," Carol said.

"Not sure how long it'll take fer us to get back to the dock."

"Don't care. As long as it's not in a cart. My saddle sores have saddle sores."

She was slightly surprised when he moved his hand down and he gently rubbed her bottom. He moved his hand back up as he yawned, closed his eyes and sighed. Carol watched him drift off to sleep then closed her eyes and she smiled.

In the morning, two trucks sat at the bottom of the stairs while Daryl, Negan, Connor and Murphy placed the plastic containers and the kids into one of the trucks and Dog sat next to Daryl's right leg.

Mercer, Mike, Dawsons, Hornsby and Jeffrey were loading the backpacks and supplies into the other truck while Carol, Caroline, Maggie and Katherine got into back of the truck and made sure there was enough room for everyone to sit.

"Ready to go?" Daryl called out.

"Ready!" Mercer called out. Negan walked to the truck as Mike, Dawsons, Hornsby and Jeffrey got in the back of the truck and Mercer closed the back of the truck. He and Negan walked to the cab of the truck as they opened the doors to the cab of the truck and they got in the cab of the truck. They closed the doors then Mercer started the engine and they waited for Carol, Caroline, Katherine, Daryl, Connor and Murphy to get into the other truck.

Caroline, Katherine, Murphy and Connor got in the back of the truck then Daryl placed Dog in the back of the truck. He closed the back of the truck as he and Carol walked to the cab of the truck and opened the doors to the cab of the truck. Daryl and Carol got in the cab of the truck as they closed the door and Carol was surprised when Daryl let her drive. She started the engine then put the truck in gear and the trucks headed down the drive. The gates open as they headed down the road and Carol smiled at Daryl. He reached over to pat her right hand and she wrapped their fingers together, lightly squeezing his fingers.
