It's been nine months since Katara broke off her engagement, renouncing her title as the Avatar's betrothed and reclaiming her name. It's been three weeks of filling in as ambassador and dodging her ex-fiancé. Tonight Katara confronts the feelings she's developed for Zuko while Aang tries to fix things. Her friends might be watching her back but they've got schemes if their own.

It's a busy day in the emergency department for Dr Katara, but the day takes a sudden turn for the worse when the code red alarm rings. Someone must've been in a horrific accident. When Katara joins the crowd of doctors huddling around a patient bed, the last person she expected it to be is her husband that she hasn't seen in 5 years, Aang. Bitter and conflicted feelings arise.

When Zuko and Sokka meet as children after the Southern Water Tribe is not only invaded, but conquered by the Fire Nation, they realize unlikely alliances can be formed in war. Now, the boys can let the differences between their families and cultures bring them together to stop the bloodshed or allow the years of hatred to win before the war is even won.

It had been five years since the defeat of the Fire Lord, and they had all grown older. Aang himself had turned 18 just a few months prior. And at the moment, they were travelling to a small village in the Earth Kingdom, where Suki had led them to under almost no explanation. Although Zuko had been worried, Toph had insisted on going.

Aang gave a nod, still watching the warm colors wash over the rooftops. Katara continued, turning to face him. "I've really enjoyed seeing what peacetime is like with you this past month - with all of you. Three months after the war has ended, the Southern Water Tribe is attacked by Fire Nation warships. Suddenly, Zuko is faced with the possibility of being plunged into another war! The exchange in Omashu goes anything but how Azula expected it to. Spirit shenanigans ensue, and suddenly the princess of the Fire Nation finds herself shrunken down to her child form.

On a vacation to the South Pole, Zuko and Katara get lost in a blizzard and are forced to camp out in a cave until the storm subsides. With sexual tension rising, the two benders struggle to conceal their feelings for each other. But ultimately, the fire in their hearts melts even the ice around them.
