As they are exploring the universe, the crew of the starship Enterprise finds a rather unusual 'planet'. Of course, they have to explore this new and unknown place. The situation quickly goes south and things are not looking great for Trip. Facing death, he and Malcolm talk about their feelings about each other.

Ten days after the events of "Cogenitor", Archer is still mad at Trip. But he wouldn't leave him on a deserted planet, or would he?

Following the Romulan invasion, the alpha crew conducts search and rescue planet-side, while Trip and T'Pol deal with a saboteur.

In the Mirror Universe, a young engineer takes pity on Nurse Elizabeth Cutler, in thrall to the ship's resident predator. Unfortunately, the predator can use any opportunity to further his aims - and innocence will be no protection.

The final chapter in this story. Our two castaways struggling to survive until their vegetation go through some tough times but finally get through. In his anger and grief, Trip's actions wreck what he and Malcolm had so carefully built with each other. Some mistakes can't be undone. Some things can't be rebuilt. Part 3 picks up on the ledge overlooking what our two explorers hope to be their new home. Deep within this ice planet where time runs much faster than aboard ship, the bondmates begin to work out their issues, while learning how to set up house together as a couple. Enjoy.
