This vignette takes place in an alternate universe of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. In it, Captain Daniel Gregg, Carolyn Muir, and the other GAMM characters are living in Captain Gregg's time, and story picks up in the early morning hours of the day after Christmas 1869. It is a continuation of my first FanFiction effort, "A Day in a Dream."

The captain finds himself falling for her, as he did for her ancestor in the 1840s. The woman wants to buy Gull Cottage, which would mean the Muirs would have to leave. Carolyn suddenly finds she doesn't want to go...

Carolyn is struggling with thinking up a new article to publish. Such ideas are becoming harder and harder to find, but she still has bills to pay and the childrens' college fees to find, so she must write something and soon. Seeing her dilemma, Captain Gregg comes up with what he thinks is a genius idea to solve all Carolyn's money issues, for good...

Captain Gregg becomes upset when Captain Horatio Figg is named the town hero, as he remembers him as anything but heroic. It turns out that the person proposing it is Figg's great-grandniece, but it's an uphill battle to expose Figg, as there are no records. Daniel will not let it go, he determines to prove he is right. Carolyn demands he provide concrete proof of his accusations.

I am working from the Pilot to Wedding Day. I have gone over episodes 2 and 3 for lack of scripts. I will go back later. The fascination is in what was written in the script, but not filmed, and what was not in the series. There will be more Expansions. It's endlessly fascinating to explore those places that exist, between scenes, and after Fade To Black...

This is the third story in my AU "The Schooner Bay Home for Invalid and Indigent Seamen" and continues the story of the ghost of Gull Cottage, Mrs. Muir, the seamen and the people of Schooner Bay. Just because someone is "mature" in age doesn't mean that they don't want and deserve companionship and love.

Carolyn Muir was in love with Captain Gregg. That should have brought the long sought-after happy ending, but there was one wrinkle - he was a ghost. Could her love be enough? Or was the difference between the supernatural world and the human world too wide to reconcile?
