In the far future the people of the Earth started the Space Colony Program to deal with overpopulation; Space Colony Ark a space station the size of which only previously thought possible in science fiction on it's maiden voyage housed politicians, military personnel, private military contractors and civilians from around the world. However they came across an incomparable storm of cosmic energy which opened up a portal that sucked the Ark through.
The Ark was sent to the other side of the universe and crashed onto the planet known to the inhabitants as Mobius; stuck on this mysterious planet with now possible hope of contacting Earth the people on the Ark set about creating a new home for them on Mobius. Building a new nation in the empty area of Mobius known as the Overlands; they formed what was to be known as the United Federation with the military and PMC personnel forming the GUN (Guardian Unit of the Nation) to be their military protection force.
Teams sents out to explore the planet beyond their new established nation came across the discovery of the planet's dominant species; Mobians a race of colorful bipedal animals. Both species were surprised to learn of their existence there was tension between the United Federation and the inhabitants of the nearby Westside Island which was home to the Kingdom of Acorn. A meeting between representatives took place and no one knows for certain which side shot first but war declared.
The newly elected president of the United Federation; Charlemagne seeked to rally the humans to conquering this island and then move to to doing the same for the entire world, seeing their right to take the planet from the 'animals' and make humans the dominant species as it had been on Earth.
The war raged on with the humans having a leg up with their superior technology and weaponry and it believed in the United Federation that their victory would now be set in stone after a succesfull assassination on King Maximillian Acorn with his eldest child Elias forced to take up the throne at a young age. However unbeknowst to them the late King had authorised a search into the mythical Chaos Emeralds: 7 legendary artefacts of great near limitless power that rained down upon the planet in it's earliest days. On the day that King Elias was crowned a search team returned having retrieved one of the Chaos Emeralds.
President Charlemagne was gathered with his cabinet discussing the full terms of surrender to present to the undoubtedly crushed Kingdom of Island; when an aircraft from Westside Island pierced the nation's air defenses and launched attacks on various prison camps with soldiers sent to release the prisoners and help them revolt. The aircraft's Chaos energy powered laser crushed the GUN headquarters building and then to the headquarters building of the United Federation government known as the Hexagon. The building's power was shut down and a strike team took advantage of the distraction to capture the president and his entire staff.
Above Westside Island was a large aircraft carrier known as the Egg Carrier; created by the human technology company Eggman Industries responsible for the most advanced technology used by the United Federation. Inside it was being used as a mobile factory for a series of battle robots with the process funded by the United Federation; wanting an army that could crush the Mobians twice as fast and more efficiently without putting the lives of human soldiers at risk.
The prototype robots known as the E-series robots had reigned upon the weirdly loop shaped hills area of Westside Island known as the Green Hill Zone; only one child survived the devastating test run of the robots on small village in the Zone. This 4 year old brown shaped hedgehog appropriately named Sonic was rather fast for his age and remembered when he was outside having fun playing with his parents when the robots attacked. His parents called for him to run far as they stormed his home and the tears in his eyes when he looked back; he ended up being caught to be used as test subject.
Put into a tube Sonic was being experimented with chemicals that were altered thanks to the energy emitting of a certain artefact that the Eggman Industries company's head scientist had managed to find. He awakened and his vision came to him and he managed to look through the glass of the tube to find the captured normal animals of Green Hill in fear as they would be placed in the robots for their living energy to be used as batteries for the robots.
His anger over how unfair and horrible all this, the loss of his home and family and the injustice awakened something and blue energy filled up with him and he broke free of the tube his fur glowing with blue energy as it turned to blue. "Subject #230694 has escaped..." one of the scientists said and Sonic charged at the machinery managing to destroying it on impact; his amazement when he saw that his normal run was now much faster than he ever thought that he was capable off. The robots aimed their guns and Sonic effortlessly smashed right through them, even somehow jumping up and curling himself into a ball to launch at them. He then tore the robots up to allow the captured animals to free themselves.
The scientists ran away to cower afraid as Sonic charged right through the doors; the tore right through the image of the company's logo; the smirking face of the company's cartoonish mascot with his big bushy moustache as alarms were set off.
In the pilot's seat of the carrier was a a smirking arrogant looking man with brown hair and a moustache wearing a white labcoat; Dr Julian Robotnik the top leading scientist of Eggman Industries who had designed most of everything that the company made. On video call was a representative of the company's board of directors; "I assure you that everything is proceeding on schedule. The United Federation will have their robot army and I am working on a new surprise that is sure to end the war for good." Robotnik told the representative with a smile.
"I hope so Julian not even the company's board is safe from the panic and hysteria that the animals caused when the President and his staff were kidnapped; GUN is breathing down our necks to provide them with the promised robot army that can be used to not only save the President but to end the war. Failure to deliver can spell the end of our company." the representative told him as the call ended.
"Their company? Every success this company has had is because of me; this was a low rent manufacturer before I joined and transformed it..." Robotnik scoffed.
"The laser is almost at 100% power and the carrier is right above Mobotropolis; Dr Robotnik sir." one of the scientists said and Robotnik grinned for Mobotropolis was the capital of the Kingdom of Acorn and the carrier was set with a laser to wipe the entire village right off the face of the island.
"Excellent... I have to give the animals credit for figuring how to use their Emerald's power for weapons but they were too soft. With this I will wipe them out and then take the Emerald for myself; think of the parades that will be held in my honor as the hero that ended the War! They will name this date after me; shame that I would be forced to fire after finding out that that the President and his staff had been executed..." Robotnik said to himself thinking of the cover story that he had; this will be a big step for his ideal world for a technocratic world ruled by machines. Using his soon to be fame to run for President will be a big step.
The laser would be powered by the Chaos Emerald that his machines had discovered when they were first sent out to explore this planet; he kept it and the information about it's existence to himself wanting to study it and find out how to use it's power. Including seeing about chemical weapons and to be used as a power source for machines such as this Egg Carrier. He never expected there to be more or how the animals would get one and he saw first hand the capabilities of the Emerald as a weapon.
However there was an alarm set off throughout the entire Carrier and Robotnik put up the live security feed to see a speeding fast blue hedgehog crushing his robots." Is that the test subject..." Robotnik marvelled already thinking of how to bend this creature to his will as a living weapon.
However Sonic ended up crashing through the door; "Looks like the test subject is here; tell me do you remember when you saw the greatness of my machines that they showed their superiority against your kind? When they crushed your entire home and you were helpless to do anything?" Robotnik grinned mockingly as Sonic looked at him.
"Your machines? So are you the Eggman?" Sonic asked furiously as Robotnik laughed shaking his head.
"Dr Julian Robotnik; my genius and IQ would make Albert Einstein look like someone who flunked first grade. Now I can't wait to see what my science has done to you and how to bend you to my will or see what makes you tick Subject #230694..." Robotnik said as Sonic's fur light up.
"My name is Sonic!" Sonic thundered as he charged at Robotnik's console smashing the controls and pushed Robotnik back. Sonic then found the area which was storing the Chaos Emerald which was also giving full power to the Egg Carrier which he pulled out. Sonic then faced the scientists and shouted "shut down all your robots and free the helpless critters inside now! Do it right now and I smash this entire room and let you fall out!" Sonic snapped and the scientists were terrified of this infant Mobian.
One instantly went to do so and Robotnik angrily grabbed a gun and shot the poor scientist much to the shock of Sonic and the other scientists. Sonic then charged right at Robotnik making him fall to the ground in shock. Sonic then ran and collected all the animals and put them in the escape pods which were sent out. "I suggest you all run and see if there is any pods left for you..." Sonic spat at them as he then left making them all panic as they left.
The last escape pod left and Robotnik was left injured as he switched his damaged Carrier to backup power as there would hopefully be enough to find someplace safe to land.
The soldiers of the Kingdom of Acorn went to investigate the landed escape pods finding the animals and setting them free with them discovering to their shock a 2nd Chaos Emerald in one of them, the scientists were sent to be interrogated and the one with Sonic was found. The soldier that found him extended a warm smile and a hand but the infant Sonic ran out to great speed much to their stunned shock.
A little later in the week Central City the capital of the United Federation and in the GUN base; Colonel Percy Granite a man with brown hair and a moustache wearing a dark brown military uniform who was overlooking the large army of soldiers preparing to storm Westside Island to free the President and his staff. "Loyal soldiers; ready to be bad enough dudes to save the President." Granite smirked as he looked towards a TV monitor showing the top TV news network from the United Federation with lead reporter Scarlet Garcia.
Scarlet said that they and the UF government had received a video message from the young 10 year old King Elias Acorn who made demands to the United Federation for surrender and to end this War peacefullly with no more bloodshed; that the President and his staff would to be surrendered to them to be tried for war crimes. Then the next news story was about the board of directors at Eggman Industries announcing their bankruptcy after the special lab building their machine army had ended up destroyed with no clear details about what transpired.
"That upstart little runt demanding that we let them treat our President and his staff as war criminals... As if..." Granite muttered and then he was met GUN Commander Walters who was an aged man in a black GUN uniform. "Commander Walters sir; I know we lost the promised robot army but you will be happy to note that our forces are ready and willing to storm the animal kingdom to save our President and to fight to the last man. These animals will never understand the undying human spirit!" Granite grinned but Commander Walters gave a sigh.
"... I just came from a meeting with acting President Bushnell... He and the senate had an emergency meeting and... They voted to officially impeach President Charlemagne and agree to the Kingdom of Acorn's terms for a ceasefire. The announcement is to be made within the hour, the war is over." Commander Walters explained and Granite was open mouthed shock and in silence for a minute.
"Are you serious? How could they do this; after all this fighting we now just give up to those animals... All the lives lost in the War and we are now surrendering? You expect me and all of GUN to just sit back and..." Granite ranted but Commander Walters glared at him.
"That is enough Colonel; the President was clear that any further military operations in this War is to be cancelled. Any further attacks will be met with a court martial and the President has already sent a message to King Elias for a meeting to discuss the full terms. This is the end of the matter; the War is over." Commander Walters said as Granite left fuming leaving it up to Walters to explain to GUN about the ceasefire.
Another attempt at the Sonic mythos by me and I plan to be using stuff from the various games, comics, cartoons, movies and anything else. I want to make this clear that I am not a fan of Amy Rose but I respect her fans and fans of shipping her and Sonic; I just don't want to be forced to use her and end up making fans unhappy with however I end up using her.
Charlemagne comes from the Archie comics and is a Ken Penders creation, for those who remember my Fastest Thing Alive story Percy Granite comes from the Fleetway comics and I want to how I use the backstory of the War differently than how Nintendoman01 has done in their Sonic story. Robotnik's appearance right now is the first movie look only with a normal labcoat. The name of the President, Bushnell comes from the Blue Core Studios Sonic fanfilm which I do like despite some issues including that it's not really a complete story and is more of a pilot for something more.
I have played Sonic Frontiers (actually used all my points from my local Game store at the time to buy Playstation Store points to preorder the game digitally so I actually kind of got the game for free) and despite having recent modern Sonic game flaws and its combat is hard to get used to; I do like the game. Not perfect and I can understand and accept people not liking or hating the game but I do appreciate it.
