Chapter 1: Arrival in Gotham.
Our story begins in Gotham City, where people roamed the streets feeling safe under the watchful eyes of Batman, Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl. Speaking of whom, they were currently chasing after a crook who was on the run from them. He had just held up a jewelry store and was fleeing by truck. Batman gained on the truck from the air and slashed the tires with a Batarang. This caused the truck to skid to a stop before the crook jumped out and ran on foot. Batman and Batgirl glided after him, only for him to pull out a gun and shoot at them, forcing them to land on rooftops.
"So much for an easy catch." Batgirl said before a bolt of lightning shot the crook, causing the gun to go off in his hand and make him drop it.
"What's this?" Batman asked before another bolt struck the crook, making him collapse. They saw a raven-haired boy wearing a blue coat and jeans with a black shirt, green gloves, black shoes, and a red and white hat with a green L on it with a creature with yellow fur, black-tipped ears, red cheeks, and a lightning bolt-shaped tail.
"You little punk!" the crook said.
"You should know that stealing isn't right!" said the boy as he picked up the bag of loot he had dropped.
"Why you!" the crook yelled as he got up and ran at the boy.
"Pikachu, Quick Attack!" the boy ordered as the critter jumped off his shoulder and ran at a high speed before tackling the crook in the stomach, sending him tumbling back.
"That kid and his Pikachu aren't bad." Batgirl said.
"Yeah." Robin said.
Batman just watched with interest.
The crook refused to give up as he got back up and tried to attack again.
"You just don't know when to quit. Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" the boy ordered.
"Pika...CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Pikachu said as it shot electricity at the crook, electrocution him and causing him to fly back, knocked out this time.
"Man, and I thought Team Rocket was persistent." the boy said, not noticing the pole the crook slammed into about to fall over.
"Watch out!" Batgirl said as she swung down and managed to grab the boy before the pole crashed to the ground.
"Woah, thanks, miss." the boy said.
"No problem." Batgirl said with a smile.
However, they failed to notice a fire on the truck's engine, which resulted in an explosion.
