Another spike of a creeping slug flew by. Moki ran up and stabbed the slug with a wolf fang given to him by his friend, spirit Ori. Behind him, the sound of a falling stone was heard, the earth trembled. After the moki turned around, a creature that looked like a mantis, bluish in color, fell into his field of vision. His gaze, full of hatred, was aimed at our animal. Saliva flowed from his mouth in anticipation of the imminent dinner.
The creature jumped towards the moki, wanting to pierce it with its blade-like paws.
A roll, the mantis landed on the spot where our hero had just been, and jumped again. Another jump, closer this time, and another jump. Moki jumped to the side a split second before the creature landed.
— Now it's my turn!
Moki jumped up to the enemy and plunged his fang into his back. With a low cry, the praying mantis turned to dust and dissipated in the wind.
— Ha-a-ah, well, who else would dare to attack Mokk the Brave?
Behind him came the sound of approaching footsteps. Mokk turned around and extended his fang-toothed paw forward to catch his enemy by surprise. The familiar silhouette stopped in the distance, not expecting this from its kin. Mona was the same moki as Mokk, looking like a crossbred of lemurs and cats with dark gray fur on her back, tail, head, front and hind legs. The fur on the chest, muzzle and fluffy tip of the tail has a light shade, and the eyes burn with a soft yellow light.
— Mo-o-okk?!
— Oh, sorry, Mona, I haven't cooled down after the battle, — Mokk was embarrassed, lowered his ears and paws, looked away.
— There's Ori fighting Shriek, — Mona said in an excited voice. — He needs help.
Mokk brightened up sharply and, running past Mona, shouted:
— Let's hurry!
Upon arrival at the battlefield, everything had already calmed down. Only cracks in the ground, fallen trees, and stones scattered everywhere reminded of the recent battle.
— Where is our friend?
Mona put a paw on Mokk's shoulder to get his attention and pointed to the side where their kin were sitting. As the couple ran closer, they noticed sad muzzles with lowered ears looking at the ground with three small glowing leaves on it.
— Oh no, did Ori lose?
Mona's voice had never sounded so much sorrow. The only thing that Mokk could do in this case was to hug her and try to calm her down by stroking her back.
Unexpectedly for everyone, a sprout appeared from the ground, among several leaves of which a yellow glow froze. It was Ori, their friend who had been reborn as the Spirit Tree.
Time has passed. Mokk the Brave with Mona organized a squad of defenders of Niwen and their friend, who sacrificed his usual way of life to save the inhabitants of Niwen, reborn in the form of the Spirit Tree.
It was a full moon, the stars shone brightly in the sky. All the inhabitants have long gone to their beds, no longer fearing decay. With the advent of the new Spirit Tree, everything changed, the world flourished and was transformed with new colors. Pleased everyone with amazing plants. Mona and Mokk sat on a fallen tree, next to their friend named Ori.
Tonight was their turn on duty to protect the still fragile Spirit Tree.
— Beautiful night tonight, look at the stars, — Mona said, admiring the starry sky.
— Yes, it's beautiful, — Mokk paused for a moment, plucking up the courage to say sincere words to his friend. — Beautiful, just like you.
Mona looked at Mokk with a slightly embarrassed look and, suddenly pricking up her ears, began to look around.
— Oh, and there are no enemies nearby? I don't want to put the Spirit Tree in danger.
Mokk took the paw of his interlocutor, smiled and said in an affectionate voice:
— Don't worry, peace has come throughout Niwen, and then, Mokk the Brave is with you, not a single enemy will sneak in unnoticed.
Mona let out a short laugh, smiled, moved even closer to Mokk and looked into his eyes.
— I am happy to be in the defenders of our home with you.
This is the beginning of my entire career in literature and creativity. Further, I will try to spread the chapters already written as far as possible. I thank everyone who will pay attention to this story and be interested in it.
