My name is Harry Potter and I am 9 years old. I have lived with my aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, for as long as I can remember, and it has been 9 miserable years. I never knew my parents, as they died when I was little in some sort of car accident (or so Uncle Vernon says). And for some reason that I still don't fully understand, I always wake up dreaming of a green light and a laugh that sends shivers down my spine.

"I'm late. Again... Damn Dudley... He locked me in the bathroom again... I always end up missing the bus" - I think to myself as I run non-stop towards the main building of the school.

As soon as I arrive at the Surrey school, I cross paths with some classmates of mine who are also late, but given the "reputation" that my aunt and uncle have imposed on me, and the threats from my cousin Dudley to anyone who approaches me, these students bow their heads and don't even greet me.

"It's okay, everything will change when I get to high school" - I think to myself as I become saddened and focus my eyes on the school gate.

After entering the main building and arriving at class, I find that the teacher looks at me with disappointment and notices the state of my clothes and hair.

- "You look like a mess. Punctuality and personal care are very important" - he says to me as I enter the door and the class laughs at me, making me feel even more humiliated.

"If it weren't for Dudley's old clothes, I wouldn't look like a mess" - I think for a brief moment while only responding with "Yes, sir" and taking a seat in the class.

"As if I didn't have enough to deal with the teasing from my aunt and uncle, now the teachers and students at school are reminding me of it" - I think to myself as I take out the books from the old backpack that I inherited from Dudley (as do most of the items I have).

We had already been reading the poetry book for several hours and, as always, most of my classmates were not paying attention, when I heard footsteps approaching the class and I looked up towards the door while the teacher continued reading aloud.

- "...and though We are not now that strength which in old days ... Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are, One equal temper of heroic hearts ..." - the teacher read when the door suddenly opened and the principal of the school entered, interrupting the day's reading.

For a few seconds, everyone present tensed up, as it is not usual for the principal to enter a class without prior notice. The principal approached Professor Hates and whispered something in his ear, to which he nodded.

- "Good morning, everyone" - announced the principal, turning towards us with a smile.

As usual, when a 'guest' enters class, we all stand up and respond in unison

- "You can sit down... I have good news for all of you. Your art teacher, Professor Howard, has convinced the district cinema to organize a field trip with all the students to see a movie completely for free next week." - says the principal to the class

After a few seconds of silence, whispers of approval are heard from all the students in our class. As usual, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon probably won't let me go whenever there's something "fun" happening, fearing that I might "spoil" their precious "Dudley's" amusement.

- "... It's the latest film by George Lucas. And attendance is mandatory, in case you can't go, I expect at least a medical certificate…" - the principal says, while I open my eyes wide with a small glimmer of hope.

As usual, I missed the bus back home because of Dudley and his gang, and had to walk back home. It's already past 5 in the evening when I arrive home, and as soon as I enter, Aunt Petunia starts reprimanding me:

- "Where have you been, boy? All your chores are unfinished; the garbage needs to be taken out, the garage cleaned, and the plants watered."

- " I'm sorry, Aunt Petunia, it won't happen again " - I say sorry and lower my head, feeling like I have to submit to her authority.

"Better bow my head and not contradict my aunt, or she'll give me more chores to do." - I think quickly

- "Quickly come in and put away your school things, and start with your chores. Your uncle will be home at 7,...and make sure your tasks are finished, or you know what's coming.."

I quickly go in and head to my cupboard, where I leave Dudley's old, musty backpack before going out to the backyard to begin my chores.

"I hope I have enough time. Or it will be the third night without dinner this week" - I think to myself as I start working.

"Finally, it's the day of the excursion. I'm going to the cinema for the first time, it'll be the best day of my life" - I think with a big smile on my face as we approach the main entrance of the school, waiting for the bus to arrive to take us to the cinema.

If it were up to Uncle Vernon, I would have never gone on the excursion, since he had reluctantly agreed to let his "abnormal nephew" go only when the art teacher showed up at number 4 Privet Drive to ask why I wasn't going. Luckily, Uncle Vernon couldn't come up with a plausible excuse, so he eventually agreed to let me go on the excursion with the rest of the class.

- "I'm warning you, boy, if your teachers tell me anything strange, no matter how small, you'll be in the cupboard all summer" - Uncle Vernon had told me that morning before leaving home to catch the school bus.

The problem was that strange things often happen around me, inexplicable things. Before Christmas, a teacher confiscated a comic book I had managed to save from Dudley's room, and magically, the comic book reappeared in my backpack when I left school and disappeared from the teacher's private locker. My aunt and uncle were furious; I was grounded for a month and they accused me of theft in front of all the neighbors in the neighborhood, not that I cared much, I'm used to their lies.

- "We've arrived, one by one, get off the bus" - the art teacher's hoarse voice interrupted my thoughts once again.

Before I knew it, we had already entered the cinema hall, and Dudley had not been able to hit me even once. So I decided to sit as far away from my cousin as possible to continue my stroke of good luck, which meant sitting right next to the art teacher.

Slowly, the lights in the cinema went out as the movie began.

'The Phantom Menace: A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...'

...

'See things before they happen. That's why I have such quick reflexes. It's a Jedi trait.'

...

'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.'

Two hours later, all the Primary school students in the Surrey district were leaving excitedly due to the film and special effects. Gradually, we all got on the bus that took us to our respective neighborhoods.

"Being a Jedi must be great. To be able to defend yourself from anyone who hurts you" -I think as I imagine myself with a lightsaber. I am so lost in my thoughts that I barely realize when I get off the bus in Surrey, and Dudley and his gang push me from behind with force.

- "What 's up, Freak? Did you think you were going to escape us by sitting near the teachers?" - Dudley says, surrounding me with his friends and clenched fists.

- "I think it's time we teach you a lesson, Potter."

I watch the three members of Dudley's gang, and without thinking, I throw my backpack at them and take advantage of the moment of confusion to run.

For several minutes, I run through the gardens, turning the corner of Magnolia and heading straight for the door of number 4. I glance slightly out of the corner of my eye as Dudley follows me, running furiously. Fortunately, I am almost at the front door.

"I just have to get inside and lock myself in the cupboard" - I think desperately as I reach out and open the door quickly, only to run into an obstacle in the middle of the hallway.

- "Well, what's all the fuss about, boy?" - Uncle Vernon asks me, all red-faced from my collision with him, while Dudley comes up behind me and closes the front door behind him with a malicious smile.

- "He tried to hit Piers and me, Dad" - Dudley lies to his father with a face that suggests he hasn't broken a single plate in his life, while Uncle Vernon starts turning purple with anger.

- "THAT'S A LIE! THEY TRIED TO HIT ME" - I scream angrily hearing my cousin Dudley's lies. But as always, when something happens, they never believe me.

- "How dare you call my son a liar, and try to hit him after all we've done for you, freak" - my uncle shouts at me, as he clenches his right hand into a fist.

- "I...I didn't..." - But there's nothing more to say. The blame falls on me once again, and I just hope I'm not locked in the cupboard for another week.

- "I'LL TEACH YOU NOT TO HIT MY DUDLEY, YOU NATURAL-BORN FREAK!" Uncle Vernon yells as he throws his fist towards me, and for the first time in a long time, I feel really scared for my life.

"It's over. I'm going to die. Killed by my own family. At least I'll see my parents" - I think as panic overtakes me, raising my hands in a vain attempt to defend myself.

For a brief second, it's as if time has stopped, and suddenly, a sensation starts to emerge from within me, like a strange tickle that spreads around me and fills me with a strength I didn't know I had, and without warning, Uncle Vernon is thrown backward by an invisible force and crashes through the kitchen door, smashing it to pieces.

I hear Aunt Petunia loud scream from a distance as she rushes to see what happened to Uncle Vernon, and I can't stop staring at my hands, feeling like I'm seeing them for the first time in my life.

"What has happened? Had that strange feeling that I still feel in my body caused it? It's like in the movie we saw, as if I could use the Force to defend myself..."- I think as I look around amazed at the mess I've caused unintentionally.

- "DUDLEY! Grab the phone and call emergency services, hurry! "- Aunt Petunia shouts at Dudley as he picks up the phone and makes a call, still stunned by what has happened.

After a few moments, Aunt Petunia turns her head towards me, her face twisted with pure hatred and and utters some words that will be forever ingrained in my memory, resonating in my mind as if they had been burned into my memory:

- "You're just like your parents, a Freak with powers that only cause harm to others. You are not welcome in this home, get out and never come back. This is not your home!"

Suddenly, it feels like the heat is increasing in the hallway, as if someone has turned on all the radiators and heaters in the house at the same time (A heat that only I appear to be experiencing). I look around and get the impression that the walls of the house are taking on a reddish color. A vibration begins to spread throughout the house, and like an earthquake, the whole house seems to vibrate for a few brief seconds. Before I can even think about what is happening, the sensation of heat and the vibration of the house disappear.

- "I must escape from here. If they find me, they'll surely lock me up for harming Uncle Vernon" - I think frantically as I observe what I've done to my uncle.

For the second time today, panic and confusion overcome me, and Aunt Petunia's words started echoing in my head "...just like your parents, an Abnormal with powers...". I feel the same strange sensation taking hold of me again, and only one thought runs through my mind -Escape- The world begins to spin wildly, and before I can observe my noe surroundings more closely, I feel like I can't breathe and my strength lefts me, losing consciousness and falling into a deep sleep due to the exhaustion of what has just happened.

Clarification: The warmth and tremble that Harry experienced in the house's hallway were the result of the magical barriers' protections dissolving, triggered by Petunia's words.
