AN: Greetings and salutations! This is my first Kim Possible fanfic, and be warned that it's a very dark one. I wrote this fic specifically to explore how Kim might react to the horrors of the real world instead of the kid-friendly issues she usually faces, particularly if her own family was harmed. Well, there are few horrors more awful or sensitive than child sexual abuse, and while I tried pretty hard to avoid making things too graphic I still recommend skipping this fic if the subject triggers you. If you're being abused in real life, it's not your fault and please talk to someone you trust.
Oh, and I don't own Kim Possible.
"You think you're all that, Kim Possible!" Drakken yelled in frustration. "But you're not!"
Kim rolled her eyes. She had just foiled Drakken's latest plot, an attempt to carve his own face into Mount Rushmore. As usual, Kim had easily dispatched the villains and the plot was foiled. "Whatever, Drakken," she responded nonchalantly to his insult. "Have a great time in jail."
With the success of their latest mission, Kim and Ron got back on the airplane that had brought them to South Dakota and began the return trip home to Middleton. The teens were looking at four hours of flight time, so Kim decided to try and catch up on studying for her geometry class. There was a test that Friday, so this was a perfect time to hit the books. She pulled out her math book and turned to Ron.
"Ron, how about studying for a bit? You know we—"
Ron was sound asleep, and Kim sighed. Ron was a fantastic friend and combat partner, but he was notorious for not taking schoolwork seriously. "Never mind," she whispered as she opened her book. It looked like this was going to be a night of studying solo.
With Kim focused on geometry, the hours passed surprisingly fast, and before long the teens were back in Middleton. After Kim was dropped off at her house, she checked her watch. 11:15 PM.
Everyone must be long asleep. Oh, well, such is life on the road. I'll need to fill in Mom and Dad tomorrow morning on the mission.
Unlocking the front door, a tired Kim started making her way to her room. As she passed the tweebs' room, though, she heard something unusual. At first she brushed it off, but something—maybe it was her big sister instinct—made her step in to check on them. When she saw the problem, she gasped in shock.
Jim and Tim were both crying in their sleep, and it looked like they were physically trembling from fear. It was obvious that the boys were both having an awful nightmare, which left Kim a little taken aback—nightmares had never been a problem for those two before, so why now? Turning the light on, she quickly hurried over to her brothers and gently began to nudge them.
"Jim? Tim? It's okay. You're just having bad dreams."
The twins quickly snapped out of their disturbed sleep and, upon seeing their sister, suddenly tried to act like everything was fine. "Oh. Um, hi Kim. How was the mission?"
"It went well. But right now I'm more concerned about you guys. You were crying in your sleep. Is everything okay?"
The tweebs looked away from her. It was obvious from their body language that they were NOT okay, but something was keeping them from telling her why. This was extremely unlike them—normally they had no capacity for embarrassment and would happily blab about anything. Growing more worried by the second, Kim sat down on the bed. "Jim, Tim—you can drive me crazy sometimes, but I'm your sister and I love you. I'll always have your backs no matter what, and you can talk to me about anything that's bothering you. So what's the sitch?"
There was silence for a few seconds, and then Tim took a deep breath. "Kim, something—" He had to pause a moment, and it looked like he was fighting back tears. "Something happened at school today."
Jim nodded, fighting back tears of his own. "We had to stay for after-school detention because we told our science teacher he was wrong about something."
"We were right. But I guess he didn't like our tone," Tim added.
Kim was confused. She knew full well her brothers were no strangers to getting in trouble, and detention was a fairly common experience for them. Getting one couldn't possibly be the only reason they were so upset. "Okay, you got a detention. Then what happened?"
"Well, we got to the detention room, and we were the only students there." Jim was clearly getting on edge just talking about it. "Mr. Gray was in there. You know, the gym teacher?"
Tim, also clearly uncomfortable, continued the story. "Mr. Gray said we'd been bad, so we had to get punished. Then he—" The boy swallowed hard and tears welled up in his eyes. "He made us do weird stuff."
As soon as Tim said "weird stuff", Kim mentally connected the dots, and her blood ran cold. Oh God, no. Not that. Jesus Christ, anything but that. . .
Kim gave her brothers the most serious look she could. Privately, she was hoping she was jumping to conclusions, but she couldn't think of anything else that made sense. "Jim, Tim, I know this is hard. But I need you to be completely honest with me. What exactly did he make you do?"
Jim now had tears running down his cheeks. "He m-made us take off our clothes. Even our underwear. And he t-touched us where we pee."
Kim's heart shattered. Her worst fears were now confirmed—Jim and Tim had been molested. She tried not to start crying herself, but she couldn't help it. And the tweebs' story only got worse. Much worse.
"And then he—he made Jim and I touch each other there." Tim was physically shaking. "First with our hands, and th-then our mouths."
"It was so gross. But we h-had to do it," Jim went on. "And th-then he took off his pants and made us touch him there, too."
"And then—and then he made us face the wall." Tim bit his lip and gave his sister an absolutely heartbreaking look. "He came over to us and he—he put himself-" He buried his face in his hands, unable to speak any further. He didn't have to, though. Kim knew exactly what he was trying to say.
Kim wasn't naïve. As a semi-professional crime fighter, she was well aware that the world was filled with evil people. She regularly clashed with world-threatening supervillains, after all. But this was a completely different kind of evil than she was used to dealing with in her work. It was so vile and so sick that she simply didn't understand how people who did this could exist in the world. Not even Drakken or Shego would have dared to do something so horrific. And yet, this was real.
It had happened to her own baby brothers.
Kim, openly crying at this point, didn't say anything. She simply moved closer to her brothers and took them in her arms, hugging them tightly. The three siblings stayed like that for a while, all in tears and holding each other close.
