This is a story that you know all too well—
But you've never heard it like this before.
Some may think it starts on the night our faithful hero was born. On that very same night, the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon nearly destroyed the entire Leaf Village. The brave Fourth Hokage sacrificed his life to save his village and his future by sealing the dangerous monster inside the infant hero, who had no choice in the matter.
Those events occurred when the great legend began—
But that is just a few years too early from where we need to be.
This tale takes place over three years later, during the first month of winter. Our young hero, with his spiky blonde hair and oddball whiskers dressed in warm clothing for the cold, was walking through an old abandoned street when he noticed a young girl standing under a street lamp. Wearing just a thin kimono and no hat on top her pretty blue hair to keep her warm, the boy assumed that she must be freezing.
Why go out in weather like this in such a state?
That's when he noticed the way she was hunched over, seeing her breath repeatedly thanks to the cold temperatures. When he faintly saw tear drop from her cheek onto the snow and heard the quietest of sobs, the boy decided to approach her, hoping to cheer her up.
Once he first spoke and the girl jerked her head toward him, the boy lost his breath, in a good way. The girl had no pupils. Her entire eye consisted of a grey-crème color that reminded the boy of the moon. He told the girl of his thoughts and then proceeded to tell her that they were beautiful. The girl lightly blushed at the compliment, stating that no one ever told her that before.
Smiling, the boy took the girl's hand promising to take her home safely. Along the way, the two made pleasant conversation, learning so much about each other in just a few minutes. Once they finally made it to the girl's home, the boy made a move to leave, saying his final good-byes.
But the girl bravely stopped him.
Since it was her birthday, the girl asked for him to see her later that night, after all her clan members have fallen asleep. She offered to share her birthday dessert in return and to thank him for being so kind to her before. Upon agreeing to do so—
The boy gifted the girl his long, deep red scarf, having noticed the way she admired it on their walk.
The events that transpired that night won't be revealed now—
For this unfolding story will make the truth known.
