FADE IN:
EXT. METKAYINA CLAN - DAY
A funeral ceremony is taking place in the Metkayina Clan. The Navi community mourns the death of a child. Logan, a human adoptee, is standing alone, with tears in his eyes. Jake Sully, his adoptive father, approaches him and puts his hand on Logan's shoulder.
Jake: "I can sense your pain, Logan. I know you feel guilty about what happened."
Logan: "It's my fault, Jake. He died because he was protecting me. If I wasn't there, he would still be alive and the RDA Miles."
Jake: "That's not true, Logan. He died a hero, doing what he believed was right. He saved your life and Spider's life. You should be proud of him."
Logan: "But I am a human. My kind is the reason why he died. How can I be proud of that?"
Jake: "You're not responsible for what your ancestors did, Logan. You can't change the past. But you can make sure that his sacrifice was not in vain. You can honour his memory by being the best you can be, by living a life that would make him proud."
Logan: "Will it ever be better? Will I ever stop feeling this pain?"
Jake: "No, Logan. The pain will never go away completely. But it will get easier with time, and you'll learn to live with it. Your brother will always be with you, watching over you, guiding you. And one day, when you're old and grey, and your time comes to join him, you'll be reunited again."
Logan nods, tears still in his eyes. Jake puts his arm around him, and together they watch as the funeral procession moves away.
