The night was chilly.

Opening the balcony entrance, a breeze hit Sakura in the face. Only the heat rising from the cup warmed her cheeks and nose. The blanket slung over one shoulder was slowly falling down.

As quickly as she could she made her way to a small straw couch, with two red cushions. She stretched out next to Sasuke, extending a hand to him with a hot drink.

"This lovely woman made cocoa for us. I decided to bring it to you here and..." Sakura blushed, looking away "If you don't mind, I'll sit with you, Sasuke-kun." she said quickly, clenching her eyelids.

"Hn." he took the cup from her.

The lightness of his murmur spoke for itself. Sakura straightened up, biting her cheeks on the inside to suppress a smile. She rarely had the opportunity to spend time with Sasuke alone (the mornings when they waited for Kakashi were the only exception). Still, she couldn't get used to the fact that she could finally be close to him, after so many years of staying away.

The moon illuminated them. They sat in pleasant silence, absorbing each other's presence. How long had it been since the last peaceful mission? Recent events in Konoha foreshadowed the beginning of tragedy, so Sakura decided to enjoy the moment.

Removing the warm, thick material, she threw it over her shoulder, handing the other end to Sasuke. The boy placed it in his lap, gazing up at the starry sky. His profile looked gorgeous from Sakura's perspective.

Poking him gently in the side, Sakura drew his attention to herself.

"Do you think in twenty years we'll also be sitting on the balcony, sipping cocoa and watching the stars?"

Sasuke turned, blinked and looked deeply into her eyes.

"I have no idea, Sakura." He took a sip of his drink, warming himself from the inside out.

"I hope so."

So did he.
