When Alexandra returned home, Damon and Stefan were waiting for her in the parlor, she groaned as she saw them and decided to face the music. She was chastised but thankfully not grounded since Stefan had also spent the night out. The Salvatores decided to have a nice lunch at the Grill and Alexandra sent a quick text to Klaus and Elijah thanking them for their help the previous night, she was a little embarrassed about the fact that she had called Klaus and that he had actually answered and gone with Elijah to pick them up.

All in all it had been a fantastic day to mark the beginning of summer, the Salvatores returned home after stopping for ice creams and Alexandra was surprised to find Elijah, Klaus, Tyler and Mason waiting from them at the house when they returned. Apparently Mason was going to be turned into a hybrid, Klaus' first hybrid. It was funny to her that despite everything that had happened Klaus first ever hybrid was going to be a Lockwood. Stefan left to go look for some of Elena's blood from what they had in storage.

"So you feed me your blood, you kill me and that's it?" Mason asked as they were seated in the living room waiting for Elijah.

"You wake up in transition and you are fed Elena's blood and then you become a hybrid, your werewolf side protects you from being burnt in the sun, you can partially transform and your bite becomes lethal to vampires at all times, and you stop turning every full moon," Alexandra explained, she was sitting on the armrest of one of the couches.

"I'm in, I'm one hundred percent," Mason said.

"Don't want to hear about the side effects?" Alexandra asked smirking, Mason frowned at her.

"Side effects?"

"A Sire-bond is created, you will feel extreme thankfulness to Niklaus, making you one hundred percent loyal to him," she said, then looked at Klaus apologetically, "he has to know what he's getting into."

"Please don't turn this into a consent is sexy talk," Tyler said looking at her.

Alexandra raised a single eyebrow at him, "Matt made a pretty convincing power point that last time, perhaps you'd like to revise it Ty."

"I learned my lesson," Tyler said lifting his hands in defeat.

Alexandra grinned and then looked back at Mason, "You still in? One hundred percent?"

"Yes, look I trust Klaus not to ask me to do something that goes out of my moral code, he'll have more hybrid to carry out his evil plans, I have to get something out of being the guinea pig, don't I?" Mason said shrugging.

"Those are reasonable terms," Klaus said, Alexandra grinned at him and gave him a thumbs up.

Klaus moved to Mason's side and bit his wrist, Alexandra handed him an old looking goblet and he let his blood pour in, once he deemed it enough he nodded at her, she handed the cup to Mason.

"Bottom's up," she said.

Mason looked at Tyler who smiled at him encouragingly and downed the cup.

"Step back please, love," Klaus warned Alexandra, he waited for her to get out of the way before he sped towards Mason and broke the werewolf's neck.

Alexandra and Tyler made a face as they heard the crack of Mason's bones. Klaus had the decency to place Mason on a nearby chair.

"He won't wake up with extreme hunger, will he?" asked Stefan, Klaus looked at him confused and Stefan motioned towards Alexandra and Tyler.

"I think between the four of us we can keep them out of harm's way," Klaus said as he crossed his arms, "But for Stefan's sake, why don't you sit next to Elijah, love, you too Tyler."

The teens shrugged and moved to the couch that Elijah was sitting on and sat next to the Original vampire as they waited for Mason to wake up. They waited in silence, Alexandra texting Caroline about her non-existent plans for the summer. Caroline was going on a roadtrip to New York with her mom. Bonnie was going to visit her aunts and uncles. Elena had been planning a romantic getaway to the Gilbert Cabin with Stefan, while Jenna, Alaric and Jeremy were going to drive to West Virginia. Matt was going to remain behind in Mystic Falls and Tyler too. Damon had plans to visit Rose in Georgia.

Mason returned to life with a gasp, clutching his chest and his eyes wide open. Klaus didn't lose time to approach him and handed him a cup with Elena's blood in it, as soon as he drank it he fell back down in pain and began having a small seizure.

"It's killing him!" Tyler said as he stood.

Alexandra was quick to stand too and hold him back, "It's working, the transition is different, this one is a little bit painful, look."

"He's dying, Alex," Tyler pressed.

"Hey, trust me, I need you to wait and trust me, Ty," she said softly as Mason wriggled in pain.

Tyler took a deep breath and nodded, "Okay," he breathed, Alexandra smiled at him.

"Love, are you completely sure this is the way?" Klaus asked as he crouched next to Mason.

"Certain," Alexandra said as she continued to observe Mason.

Mason's body twisted painfully one more time before his eyes turned amber and his face morphed to vampire, he began breathing slower.

"Success," Alexandra said as Mason locked eyes with her and Tyler, she took a step back, pulling Tyler with her.

"Keep you attention here," Damon said as he handed Mason a blood bag.

Mason downed his bag in record time and Damon handed him another one just as quickly.

"How are you feeling, mate?" Klaus asked.

Mason blinked a few times and shook his head, "I… I feel fantastic, never better."

Klaus smirked and looked at Alexandra who was smiling at him, "See, I told you it was going to work this way."

"What would've happened? If I hadn't heeded your warning," Klaus asked crossing his arms.

"If you had decided to feed him human blood? Well, he would've gone rabid and he would've attacked us all and then he would have dropped dead, you can find another werewolf and try it for yourself," she said simply.

Klaus and Elijah exchanged glances, Elijah shook his head softly and Klaus nodded, "I have no reason to distrust you, love, you've been extremely helpful so far and truthful."

"I try to be," she shrugged.

Klaus suddenly smiled at her, "Do you have any plans for this summer?"

"Not at the moment," she answered, Klaus looked at the Salvatore brothers and smirked.

"Would you allow your lovely niece to accompany me this summer?" Klaus asked.

Damon and Stefan exchanged glances and looked at Alexandra, she was looking at them expectantly, almost pouting, big green eyes pleading.

"She remains human during your entire trip," Stefan said, Klaus looked at him confused, "I promised to turn her nearing her eighteen birthday, she turns seventeen this year, next summer she's free for turning if she still wants to."

"And no funny business," Damon said, arms crossed.

Alexandra threw a mortified look at her uncles, but Klaus could see that she was excited nonetheless.

"Fantastic," Klaus said, "We depart tomorrow, love, we'll start with Mason's pack in Florida and we'll go up from there, Elijah will remain behind to oversee the construction of our new family home."

"Will we be back by august? Caroline begins cheering camp on the second week and she'll kill me if I'm not here, she's been mad since Elena dropped cheerleading," Alexandra said, then looked at the two Originals, a smirk on her face, "Do you think your sister would like to join? Has she been to High School before?"

"I believe, Niklaus, that Rebekah could benefit from such an experience," Elijah said slowly.

"Then we'll be sure to ask her once we wake them up, brother," Klaus said with a smirk, "When I get back from my trip with the lovely Alexandra, and once our family home is done we'll have Rebekah, Kol and Finn with us again."

"Finn," Alexandra said softly.

Suddenly Elijah's and Klaus attention was on Alexandra.

"What's wrong with Finn, Alexandra?"

"He's a little depressed, he hates his life and would seek to end it if you wake him up without an incentive," Alexandra explained.

Elijah and Klaus exchanged glances.

"What would be the incentive?"

"Sage, at first, his one true love, and then you could explain Freya's situation to him, that would be enough to have him reconsider his views," she said.

"Anything else we should know about our siblings?"

"Kol longs to be included, he feels as if his family doesn't love him, he resents the fact that you, Niklaus and Rebekah didn't include him in your Always and Forever pact, he feels disposable," her voice was softer as she explained them of Kol's situation.

"We shall rectify the matter," Elijah promised.

"As a personal suggestion, I'd say not to wake them up at the same time, but rather you could have an adjusting period for each, it would be easier for you two to explain things."

Alexandra packed enough clothes for a month and took her black pair of hunter boots since she figured that she would be traipsing through the wilderness in search for werewolves. She said her goodbyes to her friends the night before, Caroline had winked at her suggestively as they let go of their hug. She left Tyler with two vials of blood, one labelled Klaus and the other Elena and patted his back telling him not to be stupid.

"How could I, you'll be taking all the stupid with you," he had told her.

Mason went with Alexandra and Klaus to Louisville, Florida, where he found his old packmates and Klaus turned them into his first batch of hybrids, he sent the entire group to Mystic Falls towards Elijah so they could begin the construction of his home. In Florida they traveled to Pensacola, and then to Memphis in their search for Ray Sutton.

"Are you sure this is even the right place, Nik?" Alexandra asked as they approached a house.

"Of course, love, are you sure you can't see anything else?" Klaus asked.

"Just the inside of a bar, looks southern, I'm pretty sure I'm getting a migraine after this," she complained, Klaus smirked at her and passed an arm around her shoulders.

"And you've done fantastic, love, I'm almost convinced that you could be a witch, according to Damon you can't be compelled," Klaus said.

Alexandra snorted and lifted her right hand, she pointed to a small black heart on her wrist, "Go ahead, touch it."

Klaus looked at her confused and pressed a finger over the heart, it burned his fingers slightly, "vervain," Klaus said amused, wondering how he hadn't noticed that tattoo before.

"Tyler bought a small tattoo gun when we were freshmen, I decided to make my own ink mix and voila, Matt and Tyler have one, as does Caroline," she explained.

"Who did yours?" he asked.

"Care did, I did hers, Matt and Tyler did each other's, it was a trust experiment, Care's tattoo reminds her to drink a small quantity of vervain everyday diluted in her tea, that way no one can identify her as a vampire that way, there are some zealots in the council," Alexandra said as they reached the house.

There was a blonde woman outside.

"Hi! I'm Alexandra, this is my boyfriend Nik, we've been looking for Ray Sutton," Alexandra was quick to say approaching the woman.

"Why would you be looking for Ray?" the woman asked.

"Uh, last month Nik had a bit of an accident and now he has a furry little problem, a friend of mine from Florida told us that he lived here, Nik's been in a lot of pain and I've been trying to help him, but I'm only human," Alexandra said, her eyes tearing up.

Klaus watched as the little Salvatore did her thing, she was good at getting what she wanted, he had to give her that, and she enabled him, she got him people to kill, she lured them in and usually winked at him before she made herself scarce until he was done.

Klaus saw as the woman took pity on Alexandra, throwing furtive glances his way, soon enough another woman had joined them and Alexandra cried a little more until the dark skinned woman told Alexandra the address they had been looking for, Alexandra hugged both women and thanked them profusely, when she returned to his side, he nodded curtly at both women and took Alexandra's hand in his.

"That was easy," Alexandra said as she handed him the small piece of paper where the woman had written down the address.

"You are full of surprises, love," Klaus said, Alexandra laughed.

"I try, I mean, I have to keep up, don't I?" she asked looking at him, her green eyes almost glowing under the moonlight.

"Keep up with what?"

"With you, you're this big, badass, amazing hybrid, I'm only human, a girl can develop a complex," she said, Klaus smiled at her.

His human was special, she could see past most of the bullshit, the abuse and the pain and still think him amazing, it was flattering and doing wonders to his ego.

"You're amazing too, love, you have nothing to make up for," he assured her.

He was regaled with a grin and a kiss pressed to his jaw, he smirked and returned the gesture pressing a kiss to her hair.

Southern Comfort, Alexandra almost groaned as she saw the name of the roadside bar.

"Southern," she mumbled as she and Klaus got off the SUV.

"Love?" he asked.

"Remember when I told you that the only thing I knew about this bar was that it was southern?" she asked and Klaus suddenly realized her frustration, he grinned at her.

"Don't fret over it, the important thing is that we're here," Klaus assured her as they walked inside, "Find Ray, love, I'll join you soon."

Alexandra nodded at him and went to find the werewolf, the only reason why he let her go so easily was because he knew that she could take care of herself, and he would be near, he just needed to compel a few people.

"You're a very hard person to find Ray," Alexandra said as she took a seat next to the werewolf at the bar.

The werewolf looked at her confused, she smirked at him.

"Your kind are very hard to come by," she continued.

He turned to leave only to find Klaus blocking his path, "Leaving so soon, mate? I believe my girl was talking to you," Klaus said as he pushed Ray back.

"Vampires," Ray muttered, looking between Klaus and Alexandra.

"Not exactly," Alexandra answered, "I'm a witch and my boyfriend here is a little more special than that, a little more complex, you see, he's got some vampire, he's got some wolf."

"He what?" Ray asked confused.

"A hybrid, Ray, you see, I'm both," Klaus continued, "You see, I want to create more of me and you being the first werewolf I've come across many a moon, pun intended right?" Klaus chuckled, "I need you to direct me to your pack, so, where can I find them Ray."

"You can't compel me, it won't work," Ray said nervously.

"He doesn't have to, you see this is just a formality, you can either tell us peacefully where to find them, we go there, you all get turned into hybrids and live happily ever after, never having to turn on the full moon, living your best immortal lives, or you don't tell us and we will force it out of you… painfully, it's up to you Ray," Alexandra said and took a look at her watch, "You have ten seconds to decide before the pain begins, tik tok, Ray."

X

Ray screamed and groaned as another dart was shot into his skin.

"See, love, It's easy," Klaus said as he handed Alexandra a dart, she looked between the dart and Ray.

"Okay."

She stood in position to throw the dart, Klaus slid behind her, one hand on her hip and the other over the hand that she was going to throw the dart with.

"You just have to focus," Klaus breathed onto her neck, he pulled her hand back slowly and helped her throw.

The dart impaled itself into Ray's neck and the werewolf groaned, Alexandra turned in Klaus' arms, a smile on her face and he pressed a chaste kiss to her lips.

"See, I knew that you could do it, go check if he's ready to talk, love, I'll order you a drink," he said, she nodded at him and sauntered towards the werewolf.

Klaus had been surprised when she had suggested torture as she almost seemed to want to go againt it, even carnage was not really her thing, but she had her moments, his father and Katerina came to mind, and he had to admit that those moments served for the human to endear herself even more to him, he could appreciate her playful disposition and he was even more interested in her budding powers.

"Are you ready to talk, Ray?" she asked as she began removing the darts from the werewolf.

"I can't," he said.

"You do, turning into a hybrid is the best thing you can hope for, no more transformations, control over your powers, being able to walk in the sun you and yours would be so powerful and free," she said softly.

Klaus was paying attention to her, how she spoke, she could be ruthless, she could be brutally soft, a goddess, Persephone came to mind, goddess of spring and queen of the underworld. He smiled at the thought, his mortal queen.

"It doesn't have to hurt anymore Ray, not the wolfsbane, not the transformation, you wouldn't have to feel your entire body rearranging every month, think about it," her voice was soft and hypnotizing.

"They're in the Smoky Mountains, up the trail, they'll be setting cap there for the full moon," the wolf breathed.

"See, that wasn't so hard now, was it?" Alexandra asked with a smile, she looked back to Klaus who was smiling proudly at her.

X

Klaus ended up carrying Ray's body through the trail a thing that seemed to amuse his human greatly, at some point of the hike she had taken a camera out of her backpack and began snapping photos of the wilderness around them. Klaus smiled as she crouched next to a small patch of wild forget-me-nots. Klaus threw Ray's body to the ground and picked a blue flower and put it behind her ear, adorning her hair. She smiled brightly at him before pressing her lips to his in a slow, lazy kiss.

She giggled as their kiss came to an end, green eyes filled with mirth, she was going to be the end of him one day and he found himself somewhat okay with that thought. He picked the werewolf again and they continued walking the trail, hand in hand.

X

The full moon was upon them when he finished with the last werewolf, Alexandra had climbed a tree and was sketching the camp contentedly as he continued creating hybrids, often humming different songs under her breath, once the hybrids were ready he informed them where they would be heading, he had sixty four hybrids under his command, he waited until they all left to call Alexandra down from the tree. She jumped landing gracefully on her feet, he raised an eyebrow at her.

"I'm a cheerleader, I get thrown around in the air a lot," she explained.

"I believe we are done for now, love," Klaus informed her, she nodded at him, "is there anywhere else you'd like to visit before returning to Mystic Falls?"

"Chicago? Uncle Stef won't take me, something about his ripper days," she said and Klaus had to smirk.

"We could go to Chicago," he said and she hugged him, her arms around his waist squeezing slightly, and her head against his chest.

"Thanks, Nik," she murmured against the fabric of his shirt, he placed his hands carefully on her back and held her for a moment.

Once they let go they remained silent, enjoying each other's company.

"Nik?" Alexandra said softly, almost uncertain.

"Yes, love?"

"Will… uh… will you ever tell your siblings that you killed your mother?" she asked, wariness in her voice.

Klaus tensed immediately and gave her a surprised look, of all the things he had been expecting, she was looking at him, her eyes free of judgement, he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, he sat on the nearest log and motioned for her to sit next to him. She did so without hesitation and continued to look at him.

"Is there a possibility of the truth coming out?" he asked her.

"There is a slight possibility," she admitted softly, her gaze far away now, "I tried to erase it, but nature has other plans."

"You tried to?" he asked, she nodded, her eyes on him, "why?"

"I want you to be happy," she murmured, if he hadn't been what he was he probably wouldn't have heard it.

"Do you know things that would get in the way of my happiness?" he asked suddenly and she nodded again, "would you like to tell me?"

"More than anything in the world," she whispered, "but you'll get angry, very angry."

Klaus moved so he could crouch in front of her, his eyes were looking onto hers, "love, I would never hurt you."

"It's not me I'm worried about," she told him, Klaus grabbed her hands in his.

"You can tell me, is it bothering you much?"

"It is, because your enemies would use it to destroy your family, but I don't want you to do something you will regret, I don't want to see you in pain," she said, her eyes were tearing up and her gaze continued on his.

"You can tell me, love, my family is as far as they can be and no matter what you tell me today we'll be heading to Chicago tomorrow, I promised you," he assured her and she nodded.

She took a deep breath, "You and Elijah asked me if there was something else you both should have known about your siblings," she began, Klaus nodded, "I told you something about Kol and something about Finn."

"But you didn't say anything about Rebekah," he answered for her, she nodded, "You've been keeping this since that time?"

"I tried to ask myself different questions, trying to piece up the motives and to try and understand it better, and then I asked me the question I was most dreading to know the answer to," she said carefully, Klaus nodded, "Back in New Orleans, Mikael found you, despite you being careful, despite you managing to keep peace between the Factions."

"Love?" he asked, already dreading the answer, one tear slid down her cheek then another one.

"Rebekah and Marcellus called Mikael to New Orleans, a witch named Genevive helped them with the spell, at first they thought it was not going to work and then you had given them your blessing so they killed the witch and a friend, but it was in motion anyways, Mikael was on his way, Rebekah wanted you to run so she could live with Marcel, she never thought that Mikael would catch you as unaware as he did," she said quickly as more tears fell from her eyes.

Klaus could feel his own eyes tearing up as he received the revelation, his emotions were failing him, anger filling every inch of his being, he was going blind with rage. A sob slammed his attention back.

"I'm sorry," Alexandra sobbed, tears were falling down her cheeks but her eyes were still on his, he noticed that he was breathing heavily, that he was holding her hands a little too tight, "I'm sorry, Nik."

He was about to say something when he was sucked into a vision. Rebekah was in a sanatorium, talking to a witch, begging for it to be broken, begging for it to be taken back. Before the witch could reply he was slammed into another vision, it was him, in a cemetery he recognized yet the memory was not his, he was talking to Rebekah, about how he had loved his family, all of them, how Mikael had ruined him, had ruined all of them, the future, a version of it, he realized. Rebekah's words rang true.

"We are the definition of cursed, always and forever," Rebekah's last words coursed through his head as he saw himself staking her before he returned to himself.

Alexandra was still crying and looking at him, her eyes impossibly greener, he let go of her hands and stood, he ran a hand through his face and screamed in frustration until he realized what had actually happened and looked back to his not-so-human. She had allowed him to see the past and to see a glimpse of an unlikely future.

"Alexandra, what was that?" he asked, turning around to face her.

"That's the future that awaits you if you decide not to forgive and move forward," she said, but her voice was not her own and her eyes were glowing and she stood walking up to him like a ghostly figure, "the only thing that will await you, Niklaus Mikaelson, is pain and suffering, you shall never know true happiness and you and your family will end up dead, you will mourn them and realize that you will die alone," Alexandra stopped talking, her face constricting in pain, "STOP IT! STOP IT! GET THE FUCK OUT," she screamed as she fell to her knees holding her head in her hands, "It hurts, Nik, it hurts," she cried.

Klaus crouched next to her, holding her close to his chest, his undead heart beating fast in this chest. Alexandra clutched his shirt, her hands balling into fists.

"Nik," she said softly, "I'm scared."

"Don't be, love, I'm right here, we'll be okay, I got you, love," he said into her hair, she squirmed in pain but he held her a little tighter until everything seemed to pass and she slumped in his arms.
