Beacon Vault (Night)

Connor and Cinder stared eachother down, neither wanting to make the mistake of underestimating the other.

Gregory told Connor about what the masked intruder on the night of the dance could do. While the Schnee had good enough reactionary time, he only knew a part of Cinder's moveset. Until he could find out everything she was capable of, he needed to stall for Pyrrha to fully absorb Amber's powers and escape. "You should be proud of yourself." he told the False Maiden. "You managed to cheat your way to obtaining a power most only dream of having." The boy's eyes started to glow an intense green. "You're the first of your kind to be able to do this. I'll make sure you're the last."

Beacon Courtyard (Night)

After a while, an airship arrived at the docks. Both Professor Port and Oobleck were standing on deck. "Everyone on board now!" Port said to the students. "This is a mandatory evacuation."

"A safe zone has been established in Vale." Oobleck said. "Please remain calm and listen to Atlas personnel."

A horrific shriek rang through the air as Yveltal flew over the crowd, Dominic and Ruby jumping down from its back. "Hoo, boy!" Dominic said, dizzy. "This is why I always nap on flights."

"Weiss, Gregory, Ivy, Yang!" Ruby cried out, running to her friends.

"Ruby! Where have you been? And what was up with that Grimm?" the Schnee asked as Dominic approached.

"Don't worry. We're fine." Ruby assured. "What's going on?" Weiss looked down at this, worrying the Rose. "Weiss?" No answer. "Yang, Gregory?" Yang had a guilty expression on her face, and Gregory's feet were accumulating frost.

"Ruby." Dominic said, his eye glowing a soft red. Ivy and Gregory got the message and moved a few steps to the right, allowing the youngest member of Team RWBY to see what happened. Ren and Nora were both unconscious, covered in bruises and scrapes. But Ruby's attention was focused on Blake. The faunus' stomach was bandaged up, blood remaining on the cloth from the wound Adam gave her.

"We used Gregory's Semblance to patch her up, but she's still out of it." Yang said, tears in her eyes. Gregory's Semblance was a simple one, but it was also the most powerful one Team XICR had. He could heal people by crying on them. Unorthodox, yes, but Blake would've been in a much worse state without it.

"What about Shadow?" Dominic asked. When nobody said anything, he understood. His friend was gone. The blonde clenched his fist, causing the ground below him to fracture. 'I'm sorry.' he thought to himself, knowing that the snake faunus only did what he was told to do. "Where's Connor?"

"Last I heard, he was with Jaune and Pyrrha. I think I saw Ozpin with them too." Ivy said.

Another shriek got everyone to turn to face the Academy. Yveltal's beak was filled with dark energy, which it then shot at the Wyvern. The Grimm flew out of the way, and the attack instead struck the tower, causing it to crumble and release a massive dust cloud.

"I'll find them." Ruby declared.

"No. We'll find them." Weiss said, looking at her leader with conviction.

"No. It's too dangerous for you two." Dominic said, using Time Break to appear in front of the duo. "I'm sorry. But I have to do this alone. Goodbye." His eye flashed red, and a gigantic wall of stone rose up to separate him and his sister. Knowing what he had to do, the pyromancer ran to the Academy as it burned.

Beacon Vault (Night)

Connor used his staff to fire two blobs of Dark Matter at Cinder, who was able to dodge easily. Smirking, the Schnee followed up with a stream of lightning. The False Maiden used her stolen pyromancy to create a barrier of flames that protected her from the attack. 'Right into my trap.' Connor thought to himself as the Dark Matters from before levitated off the ground and each struck Cinder with a lightning attack. This knocked the wind out of her, allowing the Sorcerer to send an orb of magical energy upwards. The orb exploded, sending arrows of darkness shooting toward the floor.

'How is he this strong?' Cinder wondered as she tried her best to evade the falling attacks. Using her sword, she cut one of the Schnee's projectiles apart. Once she realized that she could do this with all of them, she rushed toward her opponent while getting rid of his attacks.

"Don't bother." Connor said as he threw his staff like a spear. Scoffing, Cinder used her blade to knock it off course. However, the second her sword made contact with it, a surge of electricity was sent directly into her body. Giving her no time to recover, Connor ran through a Spacial Rift and delivered a magic-powered uppercut to Cinder's stomach.

While she was on the floor, breathing heavily, Connor fired another beam of lightning at her. The False Maiden, riddled with pain, was only able to barely dodge the attack. She looked up at the Schnee, his eyes no longer visible save for the sinister green lights they were producing.

"I'm done playing. This is the end." Connor said, raising his arms. A Schnee Glyph appeared above him, one that was much larger than anything he'd ever made before. A colossal fist emerged from the Glyph, and crushed Cinder into paste. He allowed the summon to vanish, only to find that his opponent's mangled remains were nowhere to be found.

Just as he realized his mistake, an arrow shot through his heart.

The boy fell to the ground limp, his staff clanging loudly as it hit the floor. His eyes glowed faintly as he watched Cinder make her way to Ozpin, Pyrrha, and Jaune. With the last of his strength, he opened a rift that swallowed his classmates. 'Sorry, Weiss.' he thought to himself as his eyes faded to black.
