A/N: Welcome back!

Derailed! A Place That Nobody Knows!

"Ugh…" her natural greens snapped open all of a sudden to witness the vast empty of space, the stars shining much more than they do on…Earth. Wait…

Right, this can't still be Earth...right?

Standing up quicker than she should have, she became dizzy and grimaced when her leg joints made an audible pop. She wobbled at first before she was able to stabilize herself by fascinating her hands on a bleached and rusted banister.

And then she registered that the banister was hot.

Extremely hot.

"Shit!"

Amy yelped loudly, shaking her hands and blowing on them frantically, her scorched palms and fingers pulsating with pain as wisps of visible puffs of smoke soared into the air.

Once the pain eased away, she decided to investigate her area, the first thing being the stupid rusty bar.

Taking a step towards it, she instantly backed away from it when it lit up a blazing red, the heat making her entire body feel, unlike before, very faint, almost as if she want to pass out.

Looking at her hands, she saw that green Chaos Energy was being sucked from her body and into…whatever the hell that thing was!

Jumping back further from the mysterious unknown danger, her eyes went wide when a human-sized round hunched-back robot with two thick organic arms came climbing from the edge of the banister, its four-pitch green eyes glowing with Chaos Energy as it hissed just loud enough for the pink stunned hedgehog to heard.

Before Amy could speak, much less open her mouth, the hunched robot grabbed the still burning bar and as quick as lightning tore it from its stationed position on the metallic floor, and dashed towards her, easily swinging it like one would a baseball bat.

However, Amy was faster as she cartwheeled to the right, pushing herself to her left when the surprisingly quick robot swung at her again, successfully evading both strikes. A third attack came in the form of a front slam, the hedgehog cursing when a wave of Chaos Energy was released upon crashing again the floor.

Not having enough time to dodge the attack, she stayed where she was and hurriedly summoned her Chaos Guard, her feet sliding back from the impact of the energy wave.

The robotic beast hissed and stomped in rage from its failed attack as it then hurled the completely mangled banister at her, Amy this time having no trouble evading the weapon.

The hedgehog watched vigilantly for the strange robot's next move. She has never encountered such a thing, the organic parts attached to its body being completely alien to her… which makes sense since she is in an alien area. She couldn't help but think that Vanilla would absolutely love to study whatever this thing was.

She ended her train of thought when the hunched robot ran towards her, her eyes following the beast as he leaped into the air before curling into a ball just as she does. Amy narrowed her orbs, standing her ground as the robot plummeted down at her like a cannonball. Right at the last moment, she activated Chaos Guard, screaming loud as it connected with her. With a thrust of her hands, she sent it back airborne, the beast flailing wildly as Amy went on after it.

Watching from above as the beast fell to the floor, she followed it until she was close enough to perform a powerful Chaos Energy fulled roundhouse kick, which propelled it down faster until it crashed harshly on its back, causing spider web-like cracks to appear on the floor.

Using the collected energy she had gathered from using Chaos Guard, she released pink spears of Chaos Energy at the downed robot, smirking when her attack connected. Free falling downward, she used up the last of her collected energy to do a Stomp attack, the robot roaring when her feet landed on its stomach.

Pushing herself from the robot, she backed away when it started thrashing about, its body turning as yellow-orange as the Sun before it exploded, mechanical and organic matter splattering everywhere.

Amy was able to avoid being struck by springing backward, which was fortunate because whatever the organic skin was made out of, it burned a hole on any surface it touched.

The hedgehog didn't even get a chance to bask in her victory when she heard familiar hissing sounds echo through her…she froze.

Sounds…

That's plural

She turned around and stepped back when she noticed many of those hunched beasts climbing from the platform's edges. How much exactly? Who cares? She just knew for sure that she would die in a matter of seconds if she continued to stand there like a sitting duck counting them. I mean just one of them was difficult enough to handle! Maybe with Sonic's help…

Her eyes widened.

Oh, shoot! I have to find him!

Without a moment more to waste, Amy made a sharp turn and ran, her form becoming a pink blur. She became slightly startled when several blasts of Chaos energy flew past her, the half-organic robots obviously hot on her tail. Her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when she saw one of the beasts leap ahead of her and land in front of her, blocking her path with its large meaty arms spread out and ready to grapple her and likely crush her, snapping her like a twig.

Quick as lightning, Amy managed to maneuver smoothly around the beast, a smirk ghosting her face as she heard its enraged fading growls as she drifted further and further apart from it. But it was short-lived when three more of them dropped in before her, their body glowing as orange and bright as the Earth's Sun. A yelp escaped from her lips when they all self-destructed, the pink hedgehog narrowly evading the explosion by the skin of her teeth by diving to her left.

She cursed when from above came several more, rocketing down towards her like meteors, but Amy managed to perform consecutive side rolls, successfully remaining unscathed. With one last side roll, she switched into a back roll and curved and tucked into herself, becoming a pink ball of fur. As she began charging up a Spin Dash in order to build up more momentum, it was cut short when a fist slammed into her, sending her flying like a baseball into the air. Still pressed into a ball, her eyes remained tightly sealed shut, even as she felt a powerful impact against her form, thrusting her to the floor; she groaned quietly in agony as blood spurted from her mouth.

Opening her blurry eyes, her instincts quickly kicked in when the robot that had attacked her from above came rushing towards her, both its thick feet clearly aiming to make her into bloody paste.

"Chaos Guard!"

Brillant green energy surrounded her as she crossed her arms and took the impact head-on, her protective shield stuttering violently, but still holding firm, even as the creature applied more pressure so that it could end her.

Amy grunted while she fought and struggled against the creature, her rage slowly rising as the uncomfortable feeling of being forcibly held down was starting to become too much to bear.

She snapped.

"Get the hell off of me!" Amy's jade eyes shined with a pinkish hue as her body trembled.

The Chaos Energy that had been building inside Amy out of stress finally surfaced as she snarled, propelling the beast into the air, where it exploded into showers of scrap metal, flesh, and molten lava, which, like before, ate at the floor upon touching it.

She let out a weary sigh and regulated her breathing pattern, realizing that this was not the time to succumb to a panic attack—not that she was particularly prone to them.

Seeing more of the creatures land and rush towards her, she was going to take off again but hesitated when she saw the beasts come to a standstill and just stare at her...eerily.

When Amy observed the creatures slowly backing away in retreat, before making a full-on sprint out of her sight, she blinked twice and cocked her head, completely perplexed.

"Huh?"

She was startled, shivers racing down her spine when a dazzling blue flash illuminated the starry blackness of space around her, making her skin crawl and her pink fur stand on its ends. The furious crackling, snapping, and clapping of thunder made her flinch once more, and the fading blue light that highlighted the dozens of deadly Blackholes in the distance easily emphasize for Amy that she was clearly not where she should be.

Glancing at Vanilla's dumb shitty watch, she growled when she saw the screen blinking red, with the capitalized words 'OFF COURSE'. She took notice that in the left corner, it did say the Universe she was in...though not sure how accurate it was since it read as 'U41?' Great…

A sudden large bolt of lightning came crashing down several feet away from Amy, the pink hedgehog having no choice but to cover her eyes with her arm to shield herself from the retina-burning brightness.

Her eyes fluttering open, her heart fell when she saw what looked like an armored knight soldier standing before her, decked in royal purple. At nearly three times the height of a human and equally as bulky and wide as the creatures that'd been tormenting her since the second she arrived here, this thing's appearance was menacing.

Though she tried, Amy couldn't stop her body from shaking as static electricity coated the air, causing this out worldly atmosphere that gave her the sense of approaching doom; the sudden pressure that was squeezing at her chest, almost leaving her breathless, it felt awful. It was like she was being crushed by some kind of invisible force.

Wh-what is wrong with me? She stared at her shaking hands, her jade orbs trembling as she witness static electricity dancing across and between each of her finger digits. Looking at the giant knight, she had no choice but to push her fears aside when its metallic right arm extended, its palm held wide open as if it was expecting something-

Its eyes came to life, flashing a devilish green hue as a sword that matched its size appeared within its palm, the knight gripping the hilt tightly as the weapon's large razor-sharp side crackled with electricity.

She wanted to run. She really did, but if this thing was as fast as the other creatures she's been dealing with, then she probably wouldn't get far-

"ChaosGaurd!"

Quick thinking saved her ass as she found herself with her left hand held out, palm faced up and her right fist locked down against her hip. She stared with shocked shaky eyes at the knight that was looking down upon her, as he had came seeming out of nowhere, with a powerful downward strike of his sword. She swallowed thickly as her bones shook from the amount of force the knight was using to try to break her shield. She grunted and gritted her teeth as her knees buckled, her vivid green barrier flickering as her will to keep her power active was fading fast; desperation began to consume her as fissures developed on her weakening barrier.

"I c-can't…a-anymore!" She cried out in pain as she fell down to one knee, her jade eyes glaring at the knight's soulless ones with pure contempt.

A furry glowing ball of blue and green energy all of a sudden rammed into the knight's side, causing it to flinch, and though it remained firm in place, the unexpected attack was all Amy needed to drop her shield and flee to safety. The floor rumbled ferociously when the knight's sword connected with it, causing deep jagged spiderweb cracks to spread where the stunned pink hedgehog once stood.

As the knight lifted the sword up and over its shoulder, Amy looked away from it briefly to eye her savior and was relieved to find that it had been her fellow traveler, the one that she had thought she had lost.

"Sonic…" She acknowledged, unable to hold back an upbeat smile as she saw his crouching form, wearing a weary grin.

"Sorry, I'm late!" Standing up, he blinked. "Stupid monsters kept on getting in my way." he added, curling into a ball and charging up his Light Speed Attack.

Knowing that this was not the best time for conversation, she imitated Sonic, small orbs of Chaos Energy spinning around her, becoming absorbed into her body. Once they were both fully charged, they simultaneously unleashed their attack, homing directly at the knight. Pink, blue, and green trails of light spun around the knight, Amy and Sonic's blurred form slamming and crashing into every opening the armored creature gave them, the two hedgehogs both somehow managing to avoid getting sliced by its wild uncoordinated swipes. Just as their attack came to an end, unfortunately not doing much damage, one lightning-quick jab nearing penetrated the blue blur in the stomach, however, Amy was able to come in for the save right in time, unitizing her Chaos Gaurd technique to keep them both safe; pushing away from the knight to gave them some breathing room, the hedgehogs watched the creature as it raised its sword equipped hand in the air, growling loudly as a powerful bolt of lightning struck the tip of its weapon like it were a lightning pole.

And then much to their shock, the knight vanished.

"Where the hell did it go-"

"Amy, above!"

Again Amy proved how fast her reaction timing was as she used her Chaos Gaurd technique, which was starting to take its toll on her body and overall psyche. When the knight's swing crashed and landed harshly against her shield, causing the pink blur's teeth to clatter from the force, rage consumed the armored huge beast as it heaved its sword at a much quicker rate than the two hedgehogs were accustomed to and swung down again, with all it's might.

Amy's eyes became strained and watery as her head pounded furiously, the monster going on a rapid sword-swinging frenzy as bio-electricity started to arc and spin around its large deadly weapon; the creature swung.

CLASH!

He swung again.

CLASH!

And again!

CLASH!

And again!

And again!

CLASH!

CLASH!

Amy's illumining magenta eyes welled up with tears as her shield not only started to develop webbing fractures, but also her body started to get overwhelmed, every strike that connected with her diminishing shield pumping her more and more with Chaos Energy.

Warmth stretched over Amy's back as a pair of supporting arms wrapped and clasped themselves around her waist, right before her body gave out from the subsequent sixth and seventh strike.

"I got you!"

Amy wanted to cry. She was in so much pain. She had a limit of seven that she would never like to push with her technique, but here she was taking the eighth, ninth, and tenth hit. She began to glow brighter than she had ever before as her heart pounded violently against her ribcage, and right there she immediately realized that if she didn't avoid its next few blows, she would explode.

"Sonic! Ge-get away from me!" She cried out with warning as tears mixed with blood leaked from her eyelids, trailing down her cheeks and soaking into her shirt.

"No! I'm gonna try to absorb some of your energy-"

"YOU CAN'T!" Amy snarled, her sight blurring as the knight slammed its sword into her three more times.

"But-"

And Amy gave up...or she would have, if the fleeting image of her blue hedgehog hadn't flashed in her mind, pleading for her to not throw in the towel.

NO! NOT dying here! Not today!

Amy's pulsating electrifying magenta orbs sparked to life fiercely as her body shook with pure unadulterated Chaos power and fury.

Sonic cried out in shock and pain as his body convulsed when a sudden burst of Chaos power surged into him and roughly blasted and separated him from Amy, sending his smoking form hurling backward, the blue hedgehog somehow managing to land on his feet in a crouching position.

Sonic looked on in awe when he witnessed Amy flash out of sight, almost as if she used-

Chaos Control...but that's not easy to do without a Chaos Emerald... and as far as I know, she's not well versed with the Chaos Emeralds. Unless there happens to be one nearby…

The blue hedgehog watched on as he had been, in fact, correct on his assumption that Amy had used Chaos Control, the pink hedgehog having blinked into view behind the knight and instantly latching onto its back, with her hands clinging against its spiked shoulders pads. The demon thrashed about, shaking and shrugging and clawing at his back with his free hand to dislodge the hedgehog, but it was no use; Amy was determined to remain glued like a second skin.

"Die, bastard."

A raw animalistic roar tore from Amy's throat as her shimmering body erupted in a surging column of pink blinding light, obscuring the blue blur's sight as smoke and debris showered the area.

Sonic jumped in surprise, his eyes popping open when he saw huge metallic pieces of what were likely remains of the knight raining from the 'sky', the hard surface beneath him trembling violently as the scraps left craters upon impact.

As the area became clear, the blue hedgehog smiled when he saw Amy standing tall and proud, looking completely dazed, winded, and breathless, her wild spiky quills that slightly mimicked his ruffed and tousled about.

He must admit, at least to himself, that while he doesn't have a 'thing' for Amy at all, she does look breathtaking as her sparkling jaded eyes stargazed at the empty dark space high above them.

"Amy?"

"Hmm?"

"How are you feelin'?"

Amy turned to face her companion but unfortunately did so too fast, causing her to feel a sense of vertigo. Luckily, Sonic caught her before she hit the floor and reeled her in, Amy instantly placing her palms against his chest to stabilize herself. Lifting her head, she locked eyes with him.

And it was there that she blurted out-

"You're really cute."

And immediately regretted it.

So so much.

And it only got worse when the blue hedgehog winked at her, giving her a shit-eating-grin that somehow looked like a million-dollar smile.

"So I've been told." He said, relinquishing his hold on her.

Amy absolutely hated her traitorous body for becoming flustered because of this cocky jerk. "I meant to say you're a real jerk." she huffed, pouting.

Sonic's grin somehow got wider. "Nah, I know what I heard." He said, looking at all the remains of the obliterated knight. "It's okay, I don't blame you. I know I'm irresistible!"

"Shut up or I'll blow you up like the stupid knight." She growled, angrily kicking a piece of scrap.

"You know, I think I have a theory~" he sang, playfully.

Given the tone of his voice, Amy knew it was likely something she wouldn't want to hear.

"Don't wanna hear it."

"Oh, but you do!"

"No, I don't!"

"Trust me, you do!"

"Nope!"

"Now, just listen real quick!"

"No-"

"So you know like in your Universe, there is another me, right?"

"Yeah…" She responded, cautiously, unfortunately falling into his trap.

"And in my Universe, there is another you, right?"

Amy's expression soured at the reminder of her egotistic doppelganger. "That could be argued."

"And I think it's safe to say by now, that you're attracted to me-"

"Never said that-"

"You called me cute."

"And I said I meant to say jerk."

Sonic laughed. "So you meant to say, 'you're really jerk?'"

"…yes."

Sonic grinned at her stubbornness, the pout on her face making her look adorable. "Did you know that miss bratty Rose has a huge crush on me as well?"

Nope, she doesn't like where he's going with this at all!

"Sonic…"

And though it all sounded disorganized, he brought it all together. "Anyway, my theory is, that in most Universes, either you and I are together or it's one-sided."

"Sonic…"

"Think about it!"

"Sonic, I-"

"My Amy likes me, but I don't like her. You're Sonic, who you call 'Green', likes you, but you don't like him...but we both know that in your case, that's a straight-up lie."

"Sonic, I think I-"

"But wait...you at first didn't like him! But now you do!" Sonic froze, paled, and then gasped as what was once a joke to tease Amy was all of a sudden turned against him...and the worse thing was that he did it to himself. "So...d-does that mean I'm gonna like her eventually as well?" He blanched at the mere thought of anything going on between the Amy of his Universe. He then sighed, when he remembered that not only was she too young for him, but he found her personality appalling

But oh no, what about if...no when she is older? Will his feelings all of a sudden change? Will he turn into a douchebag to match her personality so that they could get along and become the 'perfect' couple? No! He doesn't want that! But what if it doesn't matter what he wanted? What if that's where his destiny lies? But...but-

"Sonic!"

"Wh-what?!"

"Get over here! I found something!"

"Coming!"

Amy blinked, clearly in shock at Sonic's odd behavior while she knelt in front of a scrap of the destroyed knight. She had been trying for a while to get his attention, but she gave up when he went on a silent rant. She decided it was best to let him be in whatever rabbit hole he had wandered into, while she investigated the area because she didn't want to have to put up with any more of his teasing over her 'blunder'. However when she located something of interest and he was still rambling about who knows what, she couldn't help but become annoyed.

With Sonic now standing beside her, Amy pointed to what appeared to be a chunk of the knight's chest; though it was utterly charred, burnt to a crisp, they were able to tell that it was the knight's chest because on the upper left, they could see something that was shaped sort of like a green human heart...but looked like it could be a-

"Chaos Emerald?!" They both exclaimed, taking a step back when the 'heart' came to life, pulsating and shining bright green.

For a moment there, they feared that the knight would somehow reanimate and go on a rampage again, however, when a few seconds passed and nothing occurred, they quietly agreed that they were in the clear.

Peering over Sonic's shoulder as he examined the knight's exposed chest, Amy immediately became alarmed when her companion reached out to the beating Chaos Emerald, the pink hedgehog snatching his wrist before he could touch it.

"And just what the hell do you think you're doing? What if it hurts you, dummy!" Amy scolded her voice on edge. She really didn't wanna witness the blue hedgehog lose a limb or something.

Rolling his eyes, he shrugged her off. "Amy...you do know that we only have one more charge to travel, right?"

Her eyes widened before they drooped in disappointment. "Oh yeah...so we have no choice but to go back to your Universe or else we'll be stuck in where ever we pop into next. Damn it!" Raising her wrist, she tapped her watch to look at the damage.

"One and a half charge left. We probably only used half because our travel was cut prematurely. What about you?"

"Same, I checked earlier. Anyway, yeah we have to go back." Sonic replied as he placed a hand on the Emerald 'heart'.

Looking back at Sonic, she held herself back from saying anything when she saw Sonic hiss and shake his hand in pain from his contact with the 'heart'. Idiot.

"Whoa...I can actually transform into Super Sonic with that alone!" Sonic said, staring at his stinging and slightly sizzling hand. And to think that Amy wrecked this monster by herself...she sure is amazing…

This also answered the question of how Amy was able to use Chaos Control.

"Super...Sonic?" The sudden image of a golden blur fighting a giant robot that looked like one of Robotnik's came to mind. "Ah, when you turned gold. How do you do that, anyway?"

Sonic smiled, recalling the countless times he's transformed. The power that flows through every fiber of his being, it's unlike any other! It's like...he could do anything, and heck maybe he can because while transformed, he's practically invincible, unstoppable, and it's all thanks to the unlimited power of the seven Chaos Emeralds.

"Well, you need to have the seven Chaos Emeralds in your possession. Once you have that, to transform, it must be because of a need or a desire to protect...or to destroy." He said, casting a quick glance over toward the dead knight when he said the latter. "The Emeralds aren't exactly good or bad; think of them as neutral. As long as you are able to make that need a burning desire, no matter what your intentions are with the Emeralds, you will transform."

"Burning desire…" Back when all the Chaos Emeralds of her Universe were working, there were many instances when she wanted to desperately protect people from Robotnik, but even though she'd have all the stupid gems in hand, all she'd manage to do is juice herself up with a massive charge of Chaos Energy that needed to be released in one blast, like when she used her Chaos Guard technique. Yeah, it gets the job done, but if she so happens to miss, and she has before, she'd be weakened after. Luckily, she has always been able to defeat Robotnik regardless, sending him packing to his lab. But now though...if we can somehow fix the Emeralds...even if it's just a one-time thing, I can take the bastard down with that kind of power...permanently… she thought, darkly.

"Sonic, how exactly do you transform? What do you think of?"

Sonic grinned as he reached and gripped the Emerald heart and with a small grunt, tugged at it until he was able to successfully dislodge it from the knight's chest. Tracing the gem's surface, sides, ridges, and groves, he is surprised at just how much it feels like a regular Chaos Emerald. Clutching it tightly, his blue fur briefly flashed gold and his jade eyes flickered red before the Emerald 'heart' disappeared, Sonic having adsorbed it. "Oh yeah, this baby has a lot of juice! Though I doubt I can remain transformed as long as I can when I use seven Emeralds."

Facing Amy, he went on to answer her question. "By using my heart, Ames. Every time I transform, I think and visualize all those that I love and cherish and just how much I want to protect them from any harm; and not just them, it applies to all living things. That's my 'burning desire'...to protect and save as many as I can." Sonic's expression soured. "Even save those who don't even want it... or don't deserve it."

"Oh…" The pink hedgehog didn't really know how to respond to that, but perhaps there was no need to. While Amy herself thought similar to Sonic, their similarities end at saving those who don't want it. Because Robotnik doesn't deserve an ounce of mercy for all the shit he has done. I've let him go one too many times.

As far as she's concerned, the world would be better off without him. Much better…

"Oh, and Ames?"

"Yeah?"

"It'd be wise to not, yah know, lie to yourself about your own feelings." He said, giving her a wink.

Amy frowned. "And what the hell do you mean by that?"

"You're a smart cookie, figure it out." Hearing Amy scoff at his response, he spoke no more on the matter. Turning around, he pushed a small current of Chaos Energy down his right leg and applied pressure down with his foot, thus activating the Travel Menu hologram. "Hey, mine no longer says 'OFF COURSE' like earlier! I can now select...let's see...Universe 41, which is where we are, and...what the heck is Universe X?"

Seeing that her Time Travel Watch had the same options, she shrugged. "Not a clue. The fox and V never said anything further than Universe 100."

"So a glitch?"

"I guess?"

Flicking back and forth with a finger between the only two selectable Universes thoughtfully, with a shrug, he left it on Universe X and dropped the menu. "UX it is then. Hopefully, there, we can find Chaos Emeralds to charge our Time Travel devices because while the Emerald 'heart' I picked up does have some, I don't think it's enough."

Though she selected it as well, she still expressed her doubts. "I don't this is a good idea…"

"Nor do I, but what other choice do we have? I sure as heck don't want to fight another monster in this place again! Especially one as tough as that knight you killed."

Amy sighed. "I guess you're right."

"Besides, can it really be worse than this place?" Sonic said.

"Ohhh, why did you have to say that, you blue idiot…" Amy huffed in annoyance, as they both did some leg stretches before leaning in a track running position.

"Gotta!" Sonic's body lit up a vibrant green, his eyes surging a wild azure color.

Snorting, Amy decided to play along.

"Go!" Her own body lit up as well, equally as dazzling as his, her green orbs glistening a radiant magenta.

"FAST!"

BOOM!

They surpassed sonic boom, breaking the sound barrier within moments.

A Dimensional Rift opened.

And upon stepping foot into its mouth, they were swallowed whole, the entrance then vanishing almost as if it had never been there.

Much to their astonishment, the 'path' there was fairly straightforward and brief, likely because they could only go to one destination.

Coming bursting out of the Wormhole, they were unable to stop their momentum, so they ended up being hurled uncontrollably like ragdolls across the pavement of an ominously dark and freezing cold 'room'.

Groaning as he slowly stood up, the first thing Sonic noticed when opening his eyes was the shadow of prison cell bars to his left, followed by a horrid smell of...he didn't know exactly what, but if he had to guess, he'd say a...dead body?

Boy, do I hope I'm wrong...Sonic thought with a grimace, gripping his nose to block out the awful stench.

A terrified feminine shriek rang through his ears, giving him horror film vibes.

"Ohmygod! Sonic! Ugh L-look!" Amy's hand flew to her mouth as she gagged and coughed from the mere sight before her, as she retreated as far away as possible from the repulsive smell coming from whatever was causing her such distress. "It's worse! It's so much fucking worse!"

Not saying a word, Sonic, despite the repugnant scent, closed the gap between him and what the frightened pink hedgehog was pointing at and...instantly regretted it.

It was a corpse and even worse, he personally knew who the corpse belonged to.

There, leaning lifelessly against the corner of the prison cell, was a doppelganger of his best buddy, his lil bro, Tails. Seeing his head lolled to the side and empty dull sky-blue eyes staring hopelessly at nothingness, Sonic couldn't help but choke back a sob.

He would have never imagined he'd ever see his little brother in such a state and now that he has...he knew he would never forget it. It's a damn nightmare…

"Sonic…" Amy whispered, unable to remove her gaze from the body.

He swallowed thickly before answering. "Y-yeah?"

"I'd rather fight another of those knights than be here."

It wasn't a joke.

"Me too."

Character Fun Fact of the Chapter

Sonic U7

Sonic had acquired his jacket from Amy Rose, as an apology gift for texting him the...provocative picture to his phone.

A/N: Yet another year and this is all I have =/ Oops...my bad ^_^;

I don't have anything to say other than that I pushed myself to finish this chapter to at least give ya'll something this year. Though this chapter did not turn out as well as I wanted it to, it was enough for me to at least progress the plot forward. So I hope you all got some enjoyment from this.

And no, Universe X is not "Sonic X" Universe lol! I think that much is obvious given the chapter's ending. For those who read "The Other Me" (again, you don't have to), you'll get an idea of where exactly Sonic and Amy unfortunately appeared in.

Alright then, later guys!
