Nemi woke up on the roof. "Where is Zeshin?" Nemi thought, and as she looked around, she saw a girl on the roof looking down at the streets with her arms and legs curled up gently and tears running down her face. Nemi felt like she was familiar with her and felt sympathy for her. "Hey, who are you?" Nemi asked the girl.

She slightly looks over with a tilted head and another tear running down her face. That's when it hit Nemi.

"How are you me? I mean, how do you look like me? Am I dead, dreaming, or hallucinating? Yeah, that must be it." Nemi said out loud.

"No, you're not." The girl said, "I'm Zeshin."

"Prove it to me then." Nemi asked her.

"We both ran from the cops and crawled through the sewer. I got punched in the face and gut." The girl said

"Why do you look like me, then?" Nemi asked.

"My quirk is called 'Mirror Image'; it forces the owner to become someone they saw the day before," Zeshin answered.

"Ah, I understand now, and I believe you." Nemi says to Zeshin: Believing her more than she thinks she should've again.

"I'm way too trusting," Nemi thought

"Why are you crying, Zeshin?" Nemi asks. Coming over to give her a hug.

"Are you sure you want to know?" Zeshin says.

"Of course I want to know; why would I not want to know?" Nemi says with a comforting voice.

"It sounds stupid, that's all," Zeshin says, but if you really want to know, I will tell you.

Yes, please," Nemi says to Zeshin.

"Every day when I transform into someone, I take a part of their personality with me, but yours was different; it was much stronger than the others. Yours made me feel a faint twinkle of hope; no one's personality has ever made me feel that way before." Zeshin said while crying.

Nemi runs over and gives Zeshin the biggest hug she had ever had, squeezing the daylights out of her.

"I don't know why." Zeshin says while tears run down her face. "Hmm? What do you mean?" Nemi spoke.

"Why are you so kind? I didn't know people like you existed." Zeshin asked.

"I would say it's half luck, half skill, or, in other words, 100% luck and 100% skill." Nemi proclaimed.

"How does someone know they are alive or self-aware? Because I don't feel like I am." Zeshin asked Nemi.

"Do you feel emotions?" She asked Zeshin.

"I don't know, and if I do, what if they aren't mine?" Zeshin asked her.

Nemi was a little puzzled about this. "Do you ever just start thinking?" Nemi asked.

"Yes, I do it all the time; it's pretty much all I do other than sleep." Zeshin replied.

"Are you aware of your thoughts, your emotions, and the others' emotions you feel?" Nemi asked happily, with determination in her eyes.

"Yes, at least I think so." Zeshin said, not confident that they were right.

"That's all we need to know. So yes, you are alive and conscious, even if you don't feel like it. You're just as conscious as me." Nemi replied with enthusiasm.

"That makes me feel a little better". Zeshin said, and the tears began to stop.

"Also, I have a quick question I must ask." Nemi asked.

"I am listening." Zeshin said.

"Wow, so do I really look that goddamn pretty? Like If I could, I would marry myself." Nemi asked Zeshin in disbelief:

"Are you lesbian?" Zeshin asked Nemi.

"Nahh, much worse." Nemi said, giving off some of her lore.

"Anyway, what do you do around here? You have friends and family, and how old are you anyway?" Nemi asked.

"Pretty much nothing," Zeshin said. "You must eat and drink water; that's something." Nemi said, super confidently,

"Nope, I never eat." You see, every time I switch bodies, they have enough energy and water inside of them; it does not switch everything, but practically everything, in clouding their quirk." Zeshin replied.

"Oh wow, and you're happy like that?" Nemi asked in a very curious manner.

"No, I am not happy with it, but what else would I do? With no family or friends to go to, I guess I could go to an orphanage, but I would rather not."

"You're wrong." Nemi said with a smirk.

"Hmm? what?" Zeshin said.

"I said you were wrong. Ok, here, how about this? If I am right, you owe me your life. Does that sound like a deal?" Nemi smiled.

"You've got a deal," Zeshin said.

"So you never had any friends?" Nemi asked, "Yes, we don't need to go back over this; it hurts." Zeshin spoke while she frowned.

"Have you forgotten about me? We are friends, are we not?" Nemi asked.

"We are friends?" Zeshin said while being super confused.

"yup."Nemi said.

Zeshin had another tear roll down her cheek, as it glistened in the sun but this time not from sorrow but from happiness.

"So does this mean I owe you my life now?" Zeshin asked, not knowing what to say.

"Yes, but don't worry; I don't want to ask for much, only to do whatever I say at any given moment. Starting now." Nemi said, laughing to herself.

"What would you like me to do for you now?" Zeshin said, while hoping all of this was a big joke.

"Stay friends with me and take care of yourself and others; that's all I wish from you; you can forget the rest." Nemi said.

"Fine, but do I really need to take care of myself?" Zeshin asked Nemi.

"Yes, of course. If you can't take care of yourself, how could you take care of others?" Nemi said, knowing she was right.

I feel so bad for Zeshin; it's like she has half a soul inside, like a husk, Nemi thought.

"I'm 15, what about you?" Zeshin said.

"16." Nemi replied.

"Anyway, can I see the wallet and phone?" Nemi asked Zeshin.

"Sure, here you go." Zeshin said, giving her the wallet and phone.

"To have a computer chip in a wallet is very strange. I know they always say it's bad to put a computer chip in your computer, but I am doing it." Nemi said, worried about it.

Nemi clenched her fist and shouted, BAG! A slim beige bag appeared right in front of them. Nemi opened it up and picked up her laptop from inside.

Zeshin walks over and sits down next to Nemi, both looking at the screen.

"Here we go. PLEASE WORK!" Nemi shouted, staring deeply into the screen and plugging in the computer chip.

Nemi opens and reads, "Experimental Quirk Supremacy."

"What does that mean?" Nemi asks Zeshin, and Zeshin shrugs.

As they dig deeper into the files, they see diagrams about these weird wire robots called Bionic Lacing.

"They look like a clew of worms." Zeshin said, looking disgusted.

"Seems like some of the details on Bionic Lacing are missing." Nemi thought.

One of the files read, "Some of our base camps have been taken out by some strange heroes." Very interesting, Nemi thought.

They saw a map of Japan with a couple points dotted and a few crossed out on it. "Look, we are only a couple kilometers away from that dot right there," Nemi said.

"How about we go check it out?" Nemi suggested it to Zeshin.

"Sure, what do we have to lose?" Zeshin spoke.

"Okay, that sounds like a plan, but before we need to do that, let's get some food and go over the borrowed quirk you have of mine. I have some money in my bag we can buy some food with," Nemi said. "We also have the money from the wallet; I don't think we are going to be returning it any time soon." Zeshin said to Nemi.

Ok, let's move. I think I saw a sushi place down the road that we can eat at; have you ever had sushi before? Nemi asked Zeshin. Maybe once," Zeshin replied.

"You'll love it." Nemi said it with enthusiasm as they walked down the stairs of the building.

As they walked down the street, Nemi explained how her quirk works.

One Hour later, they get to the sushi place.

Nemi orders them both Sushi. "Try this one," Nemi said, pointing with her chopsticks to the salmon tuna roll on the plate, you should like it after all you have my body or at least part of it.

"Isn't that bad manners? Zeshin asks.

"Just eat your food," Nemi said, feeling like a parent.

"This feels weird. It tastes like fresh '' Zeshin said, looking up at the ceiling and trying to figure it out.

The more Zeshin ate it, the more she liked it. Zeshin liked it a lot more with the sauce.

"I have an important question again." Nemi said.

"What is it this time?" Zeshin replied.

"Are you a guy or a girl?" Nemi asked Zeshin.

"I feel like whatever body I am in at the time, but when I was younger and before the quirk became active, I was a boy, so I would say I feel more like a boy." Zeshin said as he remembered a faint memory of his parents before he lost them.

1 hour later they left the sushi place and are now walking on the boardwalk heading towards the red dot on the map

"I have a hunch,I think half of your tastes change when you transform, the other half are your own, same thing for most things about you." Nemi said.

"Do you feel strange all of a sudden? Because I feel a little strange" Nemi asked Zeshin.

"Now that you mention it, I do feel a little funny." Zeshin replied, looking around suspiciously.

"Oh look at that bird, doesn't something seem off about the way it's flying? " Nemi said, to Zeshin curiously.

"Yeah a little. Zeshin replied.

"Anyway, remember what I told you, Zeshin. My quirk has 5 sets with a max range of 3 meters, the closer I am to the thing, I am working on the more control over it I have."Nemi explained to everyone.

Scrrrrp scrap

"Did you hear that?" Zeshin asked.

"Uhh, was it a scrapy sound?" Nemi asked.

"Yes." Zeshin said, starting to get super creeped out.

"Then yes I indeed heard a scrapy sound coming from behind us." Nemi said, thinking it's nothing.

Zeshin walks closer to Nemi for more comfort.

"Do you see those animals running towards us?" Nemi asked Zeshin, as the scraping sounds got louder and faster.

"You sure those are animals, they look reflective?" Zeshin said, looking curious.

"What else could they be?" Nemi said, thinking of all the possibilities.

"Remember what I told you about our quirk, get ready to use it if needed," Nemi said.

"K."Zeshin said, while watching as the things got closer to them.

As they get closer they slow down being able to see what they look like.

"WAIT WHAT AREN'T THOSE THE THINGS WE SAW IN THE CHIP?" Nemi yells at the world.

"YES THEY ARE! They are bionic lacing wolves." Zeshin said, looking scared out of his wits.

As the wolves got closer, the one to the left jumped at Zeshin and bit his arm, and started to deform wrapping all of its lacing around him like a snake would squeeze its prey

"AHHH HELP ME NEMI!" Zeshin screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Strength three!" Nemi shouted, while clapping her hands together.

"Don't worry, I have a plan Zeshin!" Nemi yelled, calmingly somehow.

"Stop, put me back down before they engulf you too!" Zeshin yelled through the Lacing while being completely engulfed in it.

As Nemi hoisted Zeshin up above her head she could feel the Lacing crawling down her arms then down her shirt to her legs, she ran while the other wolf was chasing her with Zeshin screaming right above her, and she jumped off the boardwalk, falling in the lake.

"Hold your breath!" Nemi screamed at Zeshin, while starting to hold her breath, being completely engulfed by the Lacing.

"What did you say?" Zeshin yelled, only being able to hear the Lacing wiggle and clank against each other, barely being able to even breathe, starting to feel weightless.

As they hit the water being completely submerged in it Nemi and Zashin started to feel the lacing short circuit and lose its grip on them, so they slowly swam up to the surface.

"Can Zeshin even swim?" Nemi thought, looking for Zeshin.

"Nemi, are you ok?" Zeshin yelled, worrying, and looking like he was in so much pain.

"Yeah I'm fine!" Nemi yells at Zeshin.

"We can't go back to the boardwalk with that wolf still waiting there." Zeshin said.

"How badly are you hurt, Zeshin?" Nemi asked.

"My arm is bleeding a lot but other than that just a lot of scratches and cuts." Zeshin said, swimming closer to the boardwalk.

"Speed two!" Nemi yelled out, snapping with her left hand's finger.

Nemi swam over to the boardwalk, then launched herself out of the water and onto the wood planks of the boardwalk.

"Bite me bitch!" Nemi courses at the wolf standing all by itself, fueled by anger.

The Laced-wolf jumped at Nemi's face 5 inches away from biting her face, and she punched its face, with the rest of its body trailing behind it into the lake.

"Come here I will pull you out of the lake." Nemi told Zeshin.

Nemi started to pick up Zeshin, but with both of their weight on the boards they snapped with them falling back into the lake.

"Damn it, we are back in the lake again!" Nemi shouted at the world.

They both climb up out of the water, falling onto the boardwalk soaking wet, and with lots of bruises, not as many cuts but still a few, Zeshins arm bleeding all over the boardwalk.

"I AM TAKING YOU TO A DOCTOR RIGHT NOW!" Nemi shouted at Zeshin.

"NO no it's fine I am good, when the sun rises it will all heal!" Zeshin explained.

"What about the cut, you can get infected from that and that won't change when the sun rises, will it?" Nemi claimed, completely forgetting she had cuts of her own.

"Can we just wait? If I do get an infection, I will go to the doctor, but if I don't, I don't risk anything." Zeshin proclaimed.

"Eh, Fine you got a deal, I understand going to the doctor would be hard if you don't have an identity or want one." Nemi said to Zeshin, trying to be understanding.

"We might want to find a place to rest, for now and go to that place tomorrow, I'm getting super exhausted, I might pass out," Nemi said, looking for somewhere to crash.

"You fared well against the laced creatures." A man with a deep voice that sent shivers up, and down their spines said from behind them.

"Who's that? Whatever that was sent shivers up and down my spine." Nemi says to Zeshin, trying not to fall unconscious.

"Are you two twins?" The man asked Nemi and Zeshin.

Nemi fell unconscious, Zeshin caught her and laid her down on the bench to the left of them.

XXXXXXXXXXXX

"That does not matter, and what do you want? How do you know about the Laced-wolves?" Zeshin asked the man with a black hoodie, black-pants, white fedora, dead black sunglasses, and white shoes and gloves.

"They work alongside me, I was sent to kill you two, you know too much, we can't have you telling any heroes now can we?" The man said.

"The man pulled down his hood and sunglasses revealing his bald shaved head, getting in a fighting stance

Oh shit I need to fight him don't I, oh god what would Nemi do right now, she would probably get speed or strength, maybe a gun. I don't think a gun is a good idea. I am already tired and Nemi did say making a gun would take so much energy, if I did I might pass out too and that would not be good right now, we could die. I don't have as much energy as Nemi does as her theory suggests that half of my energy is from her the other from me. That's it, I am going with speed…
