He holds Major Greg Boyington accountable for what he thinks is a college boy prank but it soon becomes apparent there's more to it than that. Associated Press correspondent Kate Cameron joins Greg, Micklin and the Black Sheep on a merry Halloween romp.

Anything and everything is going to go wrong for the Black Sheep in this multi-chapter story from romantic problems, to illness and injuries, a Japanese invasion, Meatball is even going to cause some dog mischief and the Black Sheep find themselves proving their innocence when they are accused of committing a serious and violent crime, plus the usual problems caused by Colonel Lard

A one-shot that revisits the early days of Greg Boyington's relationship with war correspondent Kate "K.C." Cameron. Shameless flirty fluff involving Greg, Kate, Meatball and a lot of women's lingerie. The narrative weaves in and out of the timeline in Chapters 1 through 7 of "Front Page News: Second Edition." Because apparently I have nothing else to do.

The Black Sheep are down to only 14 viable aircraft and Colonel Lard is trying to catch the squadron flying at less than combat status. Greg has a plan to get his hands on another bird but when things go sideways, the 214's embedded war correspondent Kate Cameron takes matters into her own hands.

Greg has an idea that will take the family in a new direction but he hasn't told Kate about it. In the meantime, Kate is struggling to juggle a career as a military wife, mother and civilian journalist. Prologue to a full-length Black Sheep story to come later.

This is an alternative universe fan fiction story in which myself, my nephew, and niece are transported to Vella La Cava and the Black Sheep must help us solve a mystery back home. This is the first chapter of a Winter Story Challenge proposed by a member of the Sheep Pen, a Black Sheep fan fiction group, that I started a few years ago on Facebook. This is an alternate ending to the episode "Last One For Hutch." Sergeant John "Hutch" Hutchinson is burning the candle at both ends to keep VMF 214 in the air when Navy Nursing Corps Lieutenant Victoria Bishop walks into the middle of things on La Cava. Hutch won't deny the attraction but girls like that never give guys like him the time of day.

When Colonel Lard decides to embed a war correspondent with the 214, the results are not what he – or the Black Sheep – expected. This is a re-write of the original which was published last year. What started as a technical glitch clean-up turned into an overhaul. Hopefully the result is a better developed and more enjoyable story.

This was my entry for the story challenge I proposed for The Sheep Pen which is a Black Sheep Squadron/Baa Baa Black Sheep fan fiction writing group that I administrate on Facebook. The idea was to write a story based on or around the phrase "It's Not Supposed To Be Like This, It's Not Supposed To Happen This Way." In this story Greg's romantic dinner plans get changed by Meatball.

The 214's scrambler is broken. This was written for a group challenge to incorporate the phrase "That's not how it works! That's not how any of it works!" in a scene or short story. Enjoy a merry romp through a day with the Black Sheep and their girls.

This was a challenge issued by my fanfiction writing friends to write a chapter or story and incorporate the following lines: "That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.

It's close to Christmas on Vella La Cava, the Black Sheep are bored and feeling sorry for themselves, a pep talk from Greg, an idea from Anderson, plus some help from the nurses, Father Patrick, Sister Mary Elizabeth, and the orphans make Christmas merrier for them and the patients at the hospital as well as two young victims of an attack by the Japanese on a nearby island.

Gang aft agley - the best laid plans often go awry. This is never more evident than when the men of VMF 214 set out to celebrate Christmas Eve with their girls. Love, friendship and trust overcome everything else when plans for a romantic evening take a detour.
