Post s2e1. Following Chapel and La'an as they negotiate the sadness that so far is season 2, and hopefully fixing some of that along the way. Which means first off Chapel is going to therapy, despite my many previous protestations to the contrary, because she did in fact -die- and surely that would be mandated, right? Part 10 in this series, though reading the rest is not required.

Inspired by a tumblr prompt I couldn't get out of my head: TNG always makes a big deal of how Picard isn't comfortable commanding a ship with children on board. Tell me Pike would not LOVE having kids on his ship. Chapters will be vignettes.

Set post s01e09 and onwards. Chapel and La'an experience the events of the second Gorn encounter in a way that hopefully allows the episode to make a little more emotional sense, and then have to negotiate their long distance non-relationship afterwards. Let the drama roll. (Nominally a queer romance, mostly an advice column to start with, sorry about that)

After the events of Strange New Worlds, Season 1, Episode 10, (A Quality Of Mercy) Spock feels that certain events relayed to Captain Pike may not have been valid. Tempting fate, he contacts someone who attempts to clear up what he sees as discrepancies.

Once the physical injuries from Talos healed, Chris resolutely moved on. When he met someone who called to his heart and each time the moment was right to become lovers he pulled back. Unwilling to trust himself. For the Talos incident was more than kidnapping, imprisonment, mind-control. It was a violation of the deepest and most intimate kind. And perhaps there was no way back.

Set post s01e08. They get to keep the costumes, because La'an in that dress is too good an opportunity to pass up. Continuing the NCC 1701 series, though the previous works really aren't essential reading. This is fluffy and cute, like the episode. And also not. Like the episode.

You don't have to read the novel, anything pertinent will be explained as we go. I'll try to avoid any major spoilers but no promises on the small stuff.

Chapel & La'an post s01e07. The story follows on from 'They may not mean to, but they do.' and earlier stories. This series is not essential reading, but is helpful for context. In this one, I've imagined the pirates were just a little harder for Chapel to take down than the episode suggests. After all, everyone wants to see more of her being an action hero, right?
