Welcome all to my newest and brand new fanfic, Yugioh: The Night City Wonderer! In this story, we see if a duelist with no memories of her former life. This still story will take place in 2099 and that will be 22 years after the end of Cyberpunk 2077 and this time, no Future Fighters are going to be a part of this story (Or even exist during the timeline of this story). Now for the rules of the story. I will be using all of the current OCG/TCG rules of the game the only difference i'm doing is the Pendulum Zones will have their own slots and not take up two Spell or Trap Zones and the max number cards for a Extra Deck for this story will be 20. I'm using both the current OCG/TCG banlists (OCG Current: July 2023) - (TCG Current: May 2022) and combine them to make one list for the story (I will use banned cards if I have to and will update the story to use the newest ban list changes when I have to). Link and Pendulum monsters will be seen and I'm going to try to use decks I've never used before to make this a very fun story Also, there might be quite a few Speed Duels and if there are, they'll be using a brand new Speed World card called Speed World X (Which will be shown later in a chapter)that can use Pendulum monsters and Link monsters. I will also use cards made by myself, other writers and cards that are only in the manga and anime as well. Also, I'll be using American names, but if the Japanese names are better (Destiny Hero and Sin monsters for example) are better, I'll use the japanese ones. Also, when I use a "Hero" monster, It'll stay as Hero instead of the TCG way of HERO and also, for cards that are created by me and others, I'll put in GY instead of graveyard. Like with my other current story, the way I'm doing lifepoint counters will be like the ones in that story. Also, this story may be darker and more violence & language then most of my stories, so this story getting a heavy M rating. With all of this said and done, let's get this story started! Also, this is my newest attempt for this story because I had better ideas and I wanted to make a little bit more different then before. Like all of my stories, this story will be dedicated to my wonderful and loving mother who sadly passed away on September 1st, 2021 and is now in the heavens with my uncle that passed away this year (2023). This is for you both!

Chapter 1 (Prologue): Heart of the Underdog

May 1st, 2099

Night City Slum Alleyways / 5:00pm

Night City is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. They have the best buildings, places to fun and much much more. 40 years ago, a serious event happened that tested the power and patience of the people. After a series of Terrorist attacks and major events, things went back to normal and the cities were more protected and happier then they ever were 5 major districts and each one was as busy as the others. The quieter districts now had schools, colleges and many small income houses for anyone that didn't want to live in the main area of Night City. Night City was in between Los Angeles and San Diego and it would take 5 hours to get to either city from Night City. Dueling was one of the most favorite hobbies in Night City. Celebrities would come from all over the world to duel in one of Night City's many duel monster tournaments. Speed Duels were allowed in the streets as well. People loved it there and they wanted to work as much and as long as they could. We start the story in a dirty alley and near some overfilled trashcans, a young lady was laying on a torn-up and abandoned mattress. She had blonde-hair and she had blue eyes and wore a grey sweatshirt and grey sweatpants and a old pair of ripped and torn sneakers. Near her was a large red purse and a duel disk.

"Time for you to wake up, young lady. Please wake up now.", a voice said in her head.

I groaned as I opened my eyes and I gave a small moan and then I looked around and then replied, "Where am I and what was that voice?"

"Your behind a large building in the center of Night City, child. I can't tell you who we are, but you can get through everything yourself. Just get on up and do what you have to do and I'll chat with you later, young lady. You might want to ask someone at where the best place was for some food. Chat with you again soon."

I slowly moaned as the talking in my head finally stopped and then I saw a purse nearby and I decided to see what was in it and the the only things inside were a wallet with no cards and only money and then I checked the wallet. Inside of it was no ID cards of any kind and there only thing there was a 2 20's, a 10 and two 5 dollar bills and all in American currency. I was happy to see the money near the other side of the tattered mattress and there was a Battle CIty style Duel DIsk with the added Pendulum and Extra Monster Zone slots being installed. This was the current model of Duel Disk called the X13B14 that was released 3 years ago. I took the deck from the duel disk and I looked through and there was a mixed variety of monsters with a couple of iconic monsters in it and then more spell and trap cards and it was about a 52 card deck. Some of the cards were still rare to this day and I decided the deck was good enough for me and I Slid the disk onto my arm and I checked the Extra Deck There were only mostly fusions with3 Synchros and not a single Xyz or Link monsters and then I slid the Extra Deck into my felt some growling noises from my stomach and I decided to ask someone on the main road about ideas for a decent meal and as I about to leave the alley, I felt like someone was following or watching me, but I looked behind me and no one was there and I decided to forget about it and head towards a more filled up street.

I walked more around the open streets and the city area. Night City was really beautiful and they were many people driving down the main roads with cars and bikes as wel and it was very clean as well. I continued to walk down the street in front of the hospital and a saw a street cop nearby and I walked up to him and he was a middle-aged almost-bald male with glasses and he wore a blue outfit that said NIGHT CITY POLICE on both of the shoulders of the shirt. I started to walk up to him and then he saw me and he smiled and replied, "Can I help you with something, young lady?"

"I would like to know if there is a place to get a decent bite to eat without breaking the bank."

"Of course there is, young lady. If you like a little spice and Tex-Mex, I suggest the El Loco Cactus Burrito Bar and Cantina down the road from here. Some of the best and quickest food ever."

"Thank you so much, sir."

I saw him smile before I went the other way towards the location of the restaurant.

The officer knew what he was talking about. the El Loco Cactus was a popular and busy place. I saw it had a make-your-own burrito and nacho bar as well as sit down service and there was even a spot to get various kinds of salsa, queso and guacamole as well. It was half-full at the moment. I walked in while enduring the smalls of various spices, meats and other wonderful-smelling items as well and then a saw a small table that was used for two people and I walked in and sat down on it and unlike most places to eat, the menus were in a holder at the middle of the table and I read through it and their prices were really reasonable and then a female waitress with a name tag that said Trixie on it walked over and sat a basket of chips on my table with a cup of fresh tomato salsa as well and she smiled and replied, "Welcome to the El Loco Cactus. What can I get you?"

I looked at the menu again and then asked a question, "I never been here before and I'm kinda new. What would you suggest, miss?"

"I would get either the Tex Steak Burrito or the Chipotle-lIme Chicken Burrito and both come with beans and rice."

The chicken one sounded better and then he replied, "I'll have the Chicken Burrito and I'll have a glass of any kind of diet soda for a drink."

She wrote that down and then she replied,"I'll get that in now."

She began to walk away and then I took a chip and dipped some salsa and ate it a single bite. The chips were fresh and the salsa was amazing. I was in for a great meal.

That cop was correct about that meal. It was the best meal I've had in maybe a long time. I decided for a walk after working off that amazing meal I just had. At that moment, I was wondering I would sleep at that night with the 37 dollars left.

"Don't come near us, dude!", a loud female voiced yelled from another alleyway. I figured I 'd go so see what was the trouble and I walked to the side of he building called Night City Game Shop and I saw more down the alley and behind the building there was two girls sitting near a red car and one had red hair and the other one had blonde hair and both were wearing a white shirt and grey sweatpants and walking over him with a strange sight of a guy. He wore a grey leather jacket and blue jeans and he had a badly-cut mohawk that was white and red in color and he was staring at the girls with a evil grin and I was guessing that those girls might know each other and there was a another tall guy with a full head of hair and wore a tattered blue jean jacket.

The shorter guy smiled and replied, " I just have a happy chat with you fine ladies tonight. That's all. It's a free country. Right, Luther?"

The other guy smiled and replied, "Damn right, Donnie. We just want to talk to you ladies and then we'll leave you girls alone."

I only sighed at that horrid statement. I knew if I left, these morons would do some horrible stuff to these innocent ladies and I had to take a stand against this guy. I walked torwards them and the guy Luther looked at at me and replied, "What the hell do you want with me, lady? Can't you see you're trespassing in my area right now?"

I sighed and then I kept it to myself so I wouldn't make myself look bad in front of this asshole and then I resumed, "You are being a total creep right now, buddy. I have a idea now."

He smiled and replied, "I know what you're getting it, lady. I'm Donnie West and this is my older brother Luther and witth our buddies, we're the best duelists in our group! How about a duel with me and if I win, you leave now and don't tell anyone about this at all.

Luther smiled evily and replied, "You'll never beat my bro's deck, lady! Do you even have a name?"

I sighed and then I said, "I don't know what it is and you can just call me the City Wonderer. Let's just get to dueling already."

"Sounds good to me. I'm Donnie and I'm going to kick your dueling butt!"

I only sighed as we both activated our duel disks and then as my duel disk was activating and my deck was being auto-shuffled, I let out a small moan as my vision when blurry and then it went back to normal as we both drew 5 cards.

"Game on!", The punk yelled out.

(Donnie LP: 8000) - (City Wonderer LP: 8000)

The punk nodded and replied,"I'll be a nice guy and let you go first, lady."

I didn't believe a damn word this fool was saying and I looked at my hand and I had some decent cards and I nodded as I sat a monster and a card down and that I pointed back at the creep and Luther drew a card and replied, "Lame one, lady! I summon my Cyber Soldier of Darkworld!"

He played the card and a dark android appeared (ATK: 1,400).

"Attack his facedown monster!"

The machine's eye glowed and a beam of energy shot out and my Swordsman of Landstar appeared briefly (DEF: 1,200) before the laser attack pierced through his shield then struck the poor guy himself and blew him to little pieces.

"You send a weakling to defend you with? This might be easier then I thought. I end my turn now."

I ignored his lame comments as I drew a new card and then I nodded and played as my Gearfried the Iron Knight appeared (ATK: 1,800) and Donnie groaned and replied, "You do use decent cards I see."

I only nodded at that and I pointed as my knight went and slashed at the dark machine and a shower of sparks was seen before it exploded into shards of hot metal that flew around his side of the field (Donnie LP: 8000 - 7600).

"Your move, sir."

He drew a card and he resumed, "I'll set a monster and 2 cards facedown and that's my turn now."

I drew a new card and I saw what it was and I played a card as my Alligator's Sword appeared (ATK: 1,500) and Luther then replied, "These cards the dame is using look famillar to me."

I ignored that and pointed as my Gearfried went in and a machine I realized that was nothing more then a Mighty Guard appeared appeared on the card (DEF: 1,200) and I watched as he slashed through the machine, cutting it in twain. pieces fell apart and shattered against the ground and then he resumed, "I activate my Broken Blocker!"

The trap appeared and two more of the machine guards appeared (DEF: 1,200 x2) and I nodded and my gator warrior went and slashed at the machine and cut marks appeared on its chest as it collapsed and smashed against the ground and I nodded and I pointed back at him and he drew a card and resumed, "Your the quiet one, eh? I tribute my Guard to summon my Motor Kaiser!"

It vanished and a large and evil looking dark machine with two missile cannon-like arms appeared (ATK: 2,000) and he resumed, "Destroy her Alligator's Sword!"

The machine aimed its arm and a clawed arm shot out and slashed through my gator and he it let out a snarl before it and his sword shattered to pieces and then I took a card and discarded it and resumed, "I discarded my Kuriboh to prevent any damage."

"You take the fun out of everything with that move, lady.", the punk said with a pout. "I'll end my turn now."

I drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Gearfried to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's my turn now."

He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Drillago."

He played the card as a large noisy machine made of scrapped parts appeared (ATK: 1,300).

"Lets do this thing! Kaiser, attack!"

It launched its horrid metal claw again and it shot and slammed into my Gearfried and his armor cracked before he shattered.

"Drillgo, your turn!"

The evil drilling machine charged in and a young female shepherd wearing a white hat and white gown while holding a small wooden cane (DEF: 800) and the drills struck her and she lt out a weak cry of pain before she blew into bits before anything else was seen and I nodded and resumed, "When my White Shepherd is flipped up, I can discard a Stray Lambs from my deck."

I looked through my deck and found the card and discarded it.

"Okay, then. I end my turn now."

As the turn ended and before my draw, two small sheep with white wool appeared (DEF: 800) and Luther then replied, "What the hell was that about?"

I smiled as I drew a new card and resumed, "If a Stray Lambs is discarded by her effect, I can ignore the timing for it right now and activate it's effect. I tribute a lamb token to summon a machine of my own."

One of the tokens vanished from the field and the punks looked in shock as the famous trap smashed Jinzo appeared (ATK: 2,400) and Donnie groaned and replied, "Of all the dark machines I have in this deck and my collection, I don't have THAT one!"

I sighed as he continued to pout more about it and I pointed as his hands and eye glowed as it launched its famous Cyber Energy Shock and it shot out and struck his Drillago down and blew it to small fiery pieces of scrap metal and broken drills that fell to the ground in a series of noisy clatters (Donnie LP: 7600 - 6800).

"Thats all for me."

He drew a card and resumed, "Damn you. I'll switch my Kaiser to defense and then I'll set a new monster and that's my turn now."

I drew a new card and I nodded and resumed, "I equip Jinzo with Junk Barrage."

That spell appeared and part of his armor began to glow white.

"I now summon my Panther Warrior."

I played the card and the mighty panther appeared with his mighty sword (ATK: 2,000).

"I attack your Kaiser with my Jinzo. Use your Cyber Energy Shock to take that machine down."

The dark machine lord glowed as another burst of dark energy shot and smashed through the center of the giant robot and I watched as smoke poured out from it before it exploded into scrap & soot and the equip glowed as the punk took the damage (Donnie LP: 6800 - 5800).

"I'll tribute a token to allow my monster to attack now."

The lamb vanished into the sword and it glowed as the Panther Warrior rushed in and a monster that looked like a train engine with a demon-like face appeared on the card (DEF:1,100) and my warrior slashed at the large train and smoke poured of its pipes as it exploded into hot pieces of metal and he resumed, "When my Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive is flipped, I can draw a card."

I watched him drew a card and then I replied, "Your turn now."

He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Black Salvo."

I watched him play the card and a large black metal sphere with a demon-like face appeared (ATK: 100).

"With its ability I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dark Machine monster from my graveyard."

A Dekoichi appeared (ATK: 1,400).

"I tune my monsters together."

The giant sphere glowed as it split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive, which turned into 4 white stars (*3 + *4 = *7).

"A large machine of darkness flies in and blasts away its enemies with its mighty cannons! It'll destroy anything in its path! Synchro Summon! Bombard from above, Dark Dive Bomber!"

A giant dark flying machine in the shape of a large airship appeared (ATK: 2,600) and Luther smiled and replied, "Your in for it now, lady! That's one of the best cards he has!"

"Time for this. Destroy her Jinzo!"

The huge machine fired a huge barrage of missiles and they shot out and exploded around my field and blasted my Jinzo into a fiery pile of metal (Wonderer LP: 7600 - 7400) and my spell glowed and I drew a card.

"Gotcha! I'll set a card for later and your move now."

I drew a new card and then resumed, "I'll switch my Panther to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and 1 facedown card and that's all for me."

My dark machine knelt (DEF: 1,500) and a facedown monster also appeared for me and he drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Metal Reflect Slime!"

The trap appeared and a metallic blob of silver slime appeared (DEF: 3,000).

I use my Dark Dive Bomber's effect and I'll tribute my trap!"

The blob faded away into pixels and a huge blast of missiles shot out and I nodded and pointed to my facedown card and I Resumed, "I activate my Damage Polarizer to stop the damage and then we both drew a card."

The trap appeared and we both drew a card and he resumed, "Stop ruining my fun, lady! I summon my Aye-Iron!"

He played the card and a cute kangaroo toy appeared (ATK: 1,600) and I saw the monster and I nodded and resumed, "I'll give a extra part of this duel. If I win, you owe me that card and I'll hand over my Jinzo to you if you win!"

He smiled evily and replied, "Not a problem and I accept your wager, lady. I play Banner of Courage."

The spell appeared.

"Aye-Iron, attack!"

It went in and it glowed (ATK: 1,600- 1,800) and the machine give my monster a decent kick and my monster growled in anger before shattering and I drew a new card.

"Dive Bomber, attack!"

THe macihne fired a huge barrage of missiles and they shot out and my monster, a warrior with a glass-like body, appeared (DEF: 1,500) before the missiles blew it to pieces and I nodded and resumed, "Since my Glass Man was destroyed in battle, your monster gets weaker."

A burst of small green shards shot out and stabbed into the machine (ATK: 2,700 - 2,200).

"i'm not liking you a lot right now. I end my turn now."

She drew a card and resumed, "Since you have a monster and I don't, I can summon my Giltia the D. Knight - Soul Spear without a tribute needed."

I played the card and the counterpart of the classic fusion monster appeared and swung his weapon around (ATK: 1,850).

"I now banish your Banner and my Supply Squad to Special Summon my Spell Strider."

Both our Spells faded away into pixels and a tall Warrior with a long sword and a horned helmet appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"I use this Giltia's effect. Since I Norma Summoned him, I Can banish any monster you have that has more attack then he does."

Donnie looked at his Synchro and he groaned and resumed, "Damn it!"

I watched as his weapon glowed as a blade of pure light shout and cleaved through his mighty machine. The machine shuddered for a few minutes before pieces of broken metal began to rain down on him and they all dissolved into dust as they struck the ground.

"I attack with Strider now and then directly with Giltia."

The taller Warrior went and swung his sword, cutting his Aye-Iron in two. The pieces shattered to bits and then my other warrior went and slashed at him with his sword (Donnie LP: 6800 - 3750) and his brother smiled and replied, "This guy is really kicking your deck's ass right now!"

Donnie looked back at him and replied, "Just zip the fuck up already! I have more ideas to take this deck down! Just shut it up and let me handle this ladies defeat!"

I only sighed and then I resumed, "I'll set a card and it's your turn now, sir."

He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Spellbook Inside of a Pot! We both drew 3 cards now."

I nodded as his Spell appeared and we both drew 3 cards and he smiled and resumed, "Much better. I activate my Two-for-One Repair Job!"

The spell appeared.

"I Special Summon a Motor monster from my graveyard and then I banish other ones!"

His Motor Kaiser appeared (ATK: 2,000) and then he banished his Motor Shell and then resumed, "I summon my Top Runner!"

He played the card and the running android athlete appeared (ATK: 1,100).

"I tune monsters together."

The machine athlete glowed as it split into 4 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Motor Kaiser, which turned into 5 white stars (*4 + *5 = *9).

"I Synchro Summon my Vermillion Dragon Mech!"

She played and a dragon-shaped tank with many cannons appeared (ATK: 2,700).

"I'll banish a Tuner monster to wipe out a card you have!"

He banished his Black Salvo and I smiled and replied, "I activate my Divine Wrath."

The trap appeared and I took a Baby Dragon and discarded it and a large bolt of lightning shot out and struck his machine down and a cloud of black smoke came from where it struck before it exploded in a shower of hot metal.

"I REALLY HATE YOU RIGHT NOW!", The punk screamed out. "I'll activate Monster Reborn."

Kaiser Motor reappeared (ATK: 2,000).

"ATTACK!"

The machine shot its claw and struck, plowing into my Strider and blowing him to bits (Wonderer LP: 7400 - 7200) and then his brother began to laugh and he looked back at him and replied, "What's so damn funny?"

"Why didn't bring back her Jinzo, dumbass? It wouldn't been a much better target!"

"I WANT TO DUEL TIHS MY WAY AND ONLY MY WHY, SO SHUT IT!"

He sighed and resumed, "I'll set a card for later and that's all for me."

I drew a new card and resumed, "I activate Double Spell."

The spell appeared and I discarded a Graceful Dice and resumed, "I'm copying your Spellbook from Inside the Pot."

The spell appeared and we both drew 3 cards and resumed, "I'll discard a card to use my Giltia's ability to get a Level 7 Dark monster from my graveyard."

"I activate my Monster Reborn."

The spell appeared and my Jinzo reappeared (ATK: 2,400).

"For my final card, I activate my Tribute Burial."

THe spell appeared.

"I'll banish your Dekoichi and my Baby Dragon to Summon the mosnter I seached for."

Both our monster cards appeared and vanished into particles of light and a loud roar was heard as the mighty Red Eyes Black Dragon appeared with a mighty roar (ATK: 2,400).

He's fucked now! I'm getting the hell out of here!, His brother thought to himself as he quickly ran off towards the side alley and Donnie saw him and replied, "Traitor!"

I ignored that and I pointed as my Red Eyes let out a roar as it fired its huge fiery attack and it melted his monster into molten metal and then Jinzo glowed as it fired its attack and it shot out and slammed into him (Donnie LP: 3750 - 1350) and I nodded and pointed as my final monster charged in and slashed at her and knocked him to the ground (Donnie LP: 1350 - 0) and the ladies quickly ran away towards the side alley as well and I looked at the defeated punk and give me the card you owe and I'll let you go."

He growled as he took the card from the deck and flung at me and quickly grabbed it and It was the correct card and I quickly slammed it into my deck and then I noticed as he took a small revolver from his pocket and aimed at her and he smiled evily and replied, "Say goodbye, lady! No one will ever know about my loss!"

"Drop the weapon, dude!", A loud voice yelled and they watched as a large car with the Initals NCFF on them on drove and blocked him and he threw the gun to the ground and then the car died down and two grey-suited officers came out. One was a tall female with blonde hair with pink streaks through it and glasses and she had a sleeve of flower tattoos on her right arm and she had the words EARTH BOUND tattooed on her knuckles came out and another female was a tall black-haired woman with no tattoos as well and then two cops with NCPD on their shoulders and both were guys and the taller guy then replied, "Finally got you, Donnie! I've been waiting for this."

That taller cop looked back at me and replied, "Thanks for the help, lady. These ladies will help you if you need it."

The other cop took a pair of handcuffs and cuffed and then pulled him into the car and they quickly left and the tattooed officer looked at me and she smiled and replied, "You okay, miss?"

I nodded and resumed, "I watched your duel from aways and you crushed that guy's machine deck and that was impressive! I'm Amanda Watson and they call me Manda and this is my friend Erica Matthews and I'm glad to meet you."

I nodded and then the officer Erica smiled and replied, "Do you have a name, miss?"

I sighed and shook my head no and Manda nodded and replied, "We can hopefully help you. We're members of the Night City Freedom Force that helps the NIght City Police Department in any way we can and we can help if you want to come with us."

I nodded and I walked ovet to the car and I got in and we drove out of the alley.
