That evening after returning home, Daria was in her room laying on the bed, the painting from Jane hung up on her wall by the closet door.

"What is with me lately?" thought Daria as she stared at the ceiling. Her phone then started to ring while sitting on her nightstand.

"How did you know that I needed someone to talk with, Amy?" she asked after picking up.

"I was just calling to check up on you," said Amy.

"But I'm all ears if you need," she said.

"Well everyone's alright, the school is weirder than I thought it would be, which I'll tell you about later," said Daria.

"But the real big problem I'm facing right now is that I keep getting this weird feeling when I'm around a certain person who I've become friends with and I don't know what it is," she said.

"Does it feel like something's fluttering in your stomach, your heart's ready to jump out of your chest, and your face sometimes heats up when you see them?" asked Amy.

"That's exactly how it feels," said Daria.

"Daria, you have a crush on that person," said Amy who was clearly trying not to laugh.

"What?!" asked Daria.

"I don't do feelings, and I have only known them for a week so how is that even possible?" she asked with an expression of disbelief.

"These things aren't just things you can lock away, and you can have them at any point in knowing someone," said Amy.

"Heck, I've fallen for people I've never even talked to before, I just saw them hanging out at a bar and decided to check my luck," she said.

"Well if this is because I… like them, what should I do now?" asked Daria who felt weird saying the word 'like'.

"Tell the girl how you feel, you never know, it may work out," said Amy.

"I… I never said it was a girl," said Daria, her cheeks instantly turning bright red.

"You also never said it was a boy, but your reaction tells me I was right," said Amy who was once again trying not to laugh at her reaction.
