Chapter 2: Volunteering For The Dance
*the scene shows Clyde, Zach, Rusty, Liam, and Stella sitting behind Secretary Meryl's desk in her office*
Clyde, Zach, Rusty, Liam, and Stella: (sighing)
*in the principal's office*
Mr. Bolhofner: We can NOT tolerate this behavior! *slams his right fist into his left hand while he says his next sentence* I say we cancel the dance, it's the only to get through to this class!
Lincoln and Chandler in unison: Cancel the dance?
Principal Ramirez: Okay, okay. Thank you, Mr. Bolhofner. I'll take it from here. *to Lincoln and Chandler* He is right about your behavior. It is unacceptable. And so, I have decided to volunteer you both to help Mr. Bolhofner with the dance.
Lincoln and Chandler in unison: What?
Principal Ramirez: So here are the rules. You two will work together as the best of friends. I want no fighting. I want you both to set an example for the entire school or there will be no dance.
Mr. Bolhofner: Lincoln! Chandler! Come with me!
*at the cafeteria*
Mr. Bolhofner: Listen up. These are all of the supplies we have for the dance. You have 72 hours to place them in order. But if you don't act like best friends, the dance is cancelled. And remember, I got spies. *to a student* Student Spy #72, show yourself!
*the student starts walking out of the cafeteria*
Mr. Bolhofner: 72 hours!
*outside the cafeteria and shows Lincoln's friend group and Lynn's friend group*
Zach: Ugh, Chandler and Lincoln are never gonna make it.
Rusty: Yeah, you said it, Zach.
Clyde: Chandler has been bullying us, including Lincoln and I for, like, ever!
Liam: It's just those times my Mee-Maw breaks up fights with my little sister.
Stella: Yeah, it's just not fair. I feel bad for Lincoln and Chandler.
Margo: We're gonna think of a plan fast.
Paula: Yeah, I might be able to dance a little bit with my injury.
Maddie: I don't want the upcoming dance to get cancelled.
Lynn: Hold on, hold on. We just need to help them through this. I'll help my brother. Anyone wanna help Chandler? *looks at her friends and Lincoln's friends* Nobody? *to Rusty* Rusty, thank you! You're in! Good man. Way to step it up. Woo-hoo!
Rusty: What? I didn't say anything.
*on the backside of the school outside*
*Mr. Bolhofner looks through his binoculars*
Lynn (to Lincoln): Okay, Stink-coln. So until this dance is over, you'll be getting instructions from me, via this earpiece that Lisa made.
Lincoln: I don't wanna do this!
Lynn: Oh, I know you don't. But we're all relying on you, Lincoln. The whole school is relying on you, Lincoln. So put it in.
Lincoln: Oh! *puts the earpiece in his left ear*
Lynn: Now, walk over to Chandler and say a real nice, "Hey, what's up?" to him. *pushes Lincoln 10 feet away from Chandler*
*Lincoln looks at Lynn*
Lynn: Go on! Mr. Bolhofner needs to see that you guys are getting along.
Lincoln: Why do I have to go meet him? Why can't he come to me?
Lynn: Because you're the mature one, Stink-coln.
Lincoln: Oh, fine. *starts walking to Chandler*
