Tyla was an odd girl. She was a 14 year old, a few months after her birthday. While with friends she's happy to be with, she does feel a bit of a disconnect with other girls her age. the most notable reason comes from a fascination from her: Dragons!
with how there are plenty of forms to their desire and respect of strength, they seemed mighty and sometimes majestic with females to feel right.
by April, Tyla's parents looked into showing her to a camp to find friends she could actually have fun. One option was Reality Check Summer Camp. While it looked like misery, they found out it was actually a fun camp in disguise, so it was agreed: she'd go there after school ends.
Early May, L/N Household
before she walked off for the bus stop, her father stopped her.
"Before you leave, your grandfather wanted me to give you this." he gave her a white necklace looking menacingly at her ( galfin3745/art/Draconica-974590910)
"wooww!" Tyla awed in amazement. Her father placed the necklace around her neck. It felt like something was emanating, but it felt welcoming.
"He wanted to give it as a good luck charm, so take good care of it and yourself, dear." he continued. Tyla went to hug him hard
"Thank you Dad, I will." she said with appreciation before running out the door. Her father watched her head off in cherishment but also a mild case of loss. He hopes she can make something of herself, or even better. Not sure of what but he and his wife had some work to do…
GravesField Bus Stop
Skipping along, Tyla eventually switched to walking as she approached the bus stop and felt like hiding her key chain behind her jacket once seeing the girl who seemed down, despite probably heading to the camp she was. It was only when their eyes met that she spoke.
"Aren't you a part of the popular friend group? Why are you out here?" ? asked with a bit of spite. She had shorts, pixie brown hair and gray shorts.
"No, not really." Tyla admitted. "Don't have similar interests as the others. My parents felt the camp would help find new friends." This made the girl soften
"wish I could say the same, '' she answered. "No one noticed weird old luz, myself, who only had Azura for.. attentioonn." She groaned before realizing the book she was trying to fish out of the nearby trash bin wasn't there. "Where is it? Where is it!" She asked as she dug through. While concerned, Tyla noticed a little owl with her bag in its beak.
"What about over there?" She suggested, getting luz's attention
The owl hoots. Luz looks up and sees a little owl, her book sticking out of said bag.
"Heeyy." Tyla tries to approach the owl carefully. "mind giving that bag back?" She asked holding her hand out. Just as she's within grabbing range, the owl, looking spooked, turns and flies away.
"Tiny trash thief!" Luz chases the owl, with Tyla close behind. They paused when they reached a decrepit abandoned house, but the owl continued right inside. While Tyla stared at the house, getting a weird feeling, Luz growled. Stealing her nerves, Luz runs inside, with Tyla following out of concern. The front door slams shut behind her, and the entire inside glows, visible through the windows and the holes in the roof.
?
Inside of a tent, a door unfolds, then opened. The little owl hops through it, and a second later, Luz follows along with Lyla, though despite bumping into each other, they manage not to fall
"Stop adorably hopping away, you—Huh?" Luz demanded before she looked around the tent, which is full of old odds and ends.
"Where did this door go..." Tyla followed with a similar silence. How does a cabin door open to a tent of random items?
"Whoa. I thought I had a lot of weird stuff." Luz wondered before she grabbed a creepy-looking doll. "But this? This is impressive." Tyla wondered what she had.
"I wonder what weird stuff you had to say that." She commented bluntly. Before Luz could comment back, they heard an adult voice:
"Finally, you're back.'' The 2 immediately dropped to the ground though they would get up to their knees soon enough to be moved a curtain aside to reveal a middle aged woman with gray hair and red, slightly torn dress.
"Now let's see what we've got here." She took the owl that took her bag and Luz's book and twisted it to become the wooden fixture of a staff. This made the two peeping girls gasp in shock. Tyla wondered what an owl like this was doing in the first place. The woman scrounged through the bag looking for things to sell.
She takes out items like my phone, a ring and a golden shining chalice?! (I don't understand) But then something made her gasp.
"Now, this..." She says, taking out a pair of joke glasses with eyes on springs and puts them on. This will make me rich." the eyes spring out. Then she took out Luz's book. "And this... Oh, this will make good kindling." She held the book close to a candle.
Luz gasped; she ran out of the tent and grabbed her book back. "Excuse me, sorry, it's mine, thank you" Luz stammered with Tyla quickly grabbing the items that fell out.
The two girls made their way to the door, but it folded into a briefcase, stopping them in their tracks. They turned back to the footsteps being made by the woman, taking off the silly glasses and looking menacingly at the two. "You two aren't going anywhere." She warned, spooking them both.
"Wah-ah!/Meep!" Luz and Tyla squeak out before they ducked out the back of the tent, with Luz shoving Azura into her messenger bag first.
They ran, and skid to a stop mere inches away from falling off a cliff. They clearly weren't on earth anymore, with the town before then being made up of far too many arms and teeth. A dragon flies by and is caught by one of said arms. Many of the towns' denizens appeared to be going about their day, with varying resemblance to those back in their town.
Tyla looked in awe. "Wwoooaahh! This looks awesome, if a bit creepy" she described it with a hint of curiosity. Luz meanwhile was freaking out.
"Oh, no, no, no, no! What's going on?" Luz worried. A fairy approached them, scaring Luz though she quickly recovers.] Oh, hello, little fairy. Are you going to tell me this is all a fantastical dream?" She hopes while Tyla eyes the fairy from behind.
"Give me your skin!" The fairy demands opening its jaws in desire". Luz was quickly terrified with the attack interrupted by Tyla punching the fairy off the cliff.
"I never learned how to reeaadddd" The fairy bemoans as it fell to its seeming death.
Luz quickly turned around and hugs Tyla in appreciation.
"Thankyouthankyou thank you!" Luz thanked her heavily. Tyla didn't know how to respond to this so just patted her head. "Uhhh, your welcome." She responded.
Luz stops hugging and gave the other person around her some space. "Still though, where are we? Did we die? Are we in the bad place?" Before Tyla can answer, the woman from the stall touches a shoulder from each, slightly spooking both. "You wish." She answers.
The woman brings the girls back to behind the stall counter, Luz closing her eyes in fear and Tyla on firm guard.
"I'm so sorry! I just wanted my book! If you're gonna eat my skin, just make it quick! Just do it now!" Luz panics, sitting on a stool.
"I was here for my bag that your owl stole, and I'd give a reason or two to let us back home." Tyla bluffed, trying to not sound scared.
"Eat you? Why would I eat... a potential customer?" The woman said. Luz opens her eyes, her and Tyla now confused.
Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes? She offers, Holding up a green Croc, then puts it aside and grabs a stick of men's deodorant. "A bar of green human candy? Oh, oh! How about this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?" this time, she holds a portable TV up to Luz. this gets a laugh from the girls
"Maybe it does when you have nothing to watch." Tyla suggests.
"That's not all it can do. Here, let me see it." Luz offers, taking the tv. She grabs two batteries from a dish labeled "Human candy!" (Why would someone think that?), puts the batteries in and presses the power button. A jazzercise video started to play loud music.
"Voilà!" Luz reveals. The video got people's attention.
"Huh?"/"What's that?"/"The sound—it's so alluring." various monsters wonder. By this point the area around the stall is crowded
"I'll pay 40 snails for the screaming box!"/"I'll give you a hundred!"/"Can I eat the tiny person inside?" some in the crowd argue, with the last monster getting a few confused looks. By this point, the whole crowd starts bidding.
"Wow, TV must be pretty popular here." Tyla ponders.
"Indeed" Eda looks at Luz. "Now, what did you say your names were?"
"I'm Luz. Luz Noceda."
"I'm Tyla. Tyla (L/N)" The last name makes the woman stop slightly but she quickly goes back to taking people's money.
"Well, Luz, that was pretty clever... for a human." This earns confusion from the girls.
"That's kind of a weird thing for another human to say." Luz points out, earning a nod from Tyla, and a smirk from the woman
"Oh, dear child, I'm not like you." She takes off her bandana to reveal pointed ears. with the girls surprised. She then climbs onto the table. "I'm Eda the Owl Lady, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles!" Eda boasts
"A witch?" Luz wonders.
"I am a respected, feared-" Eda continues before being interrupted
"Busted!" A guard breaks the TV. scaring a few in the crowd and catching Tyla off guard.
"Run! It's a guard!" One monster shouted. All of the customers run away screaming. Eda hops down from the table, annoyed.
"Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors." the guard declares holding up a wanted poster of her and a small creature for a lot of money.
"Whoa! Witch criminal!" Luz says, peeking over the edge of the table. Tyla seemed more cautious. "You sure we should be excited about this?"
The Guard grabs Eda's arm and orders her. "You are hereby ordered to come with me to the Conformatorium." Eda simply frees her arm.
"Would you guys quit following me around? I haven't done squat." She complains like this happened before.
"And you're coming too..." The guard picks Luz up by her hood and tries to grab Tyla but she dodges out of the way.
"Aah!"/"Hey! what for? Luz and Tyla yell, worried for their lives.
"...for fraternizing with a criminal." He clarified.
"Wh-What? That's not cool!" Luz panics while Tyla looked around to try and get them out of this situation.
"Oh, all right, all right, you win. Just let me get my staff." Eda acquests, reaching below her table. Before Tyla could ask if she meant stuff, she grabs her staff, swinging it at the guard. He falls to the ground with a grunt. Eda spins her staff and taps the bottom of it on the table, making all her stuff float in midair. Luz picks herself and her book off the ground, with Tyla picking up her glasses she lost dodging the guard.
"Whoops. Can't forget this." Eda says to herself after reaching into her hair and pulls out the key, pressing the eye to summon the portal door. She closes her hand into a fist, making the tablecloth wrap itself around all of her stuff. She sticks her staff through the bundle and starts running. "Follow me, human." She says to the girls, who quickly follow along.
"This is crazy. If I die here, my mom's gonna kill me!" Luz worries.
"I'm still trying to understand just what's going on!" Tyla admits, slightly behind.
"Ha! I won't let 'em hurt you. A human like ye is much more valuable to me alive than dead." Eda reassures, with little success.
"Wait. What's that supposed to-" Luz asks before Eda interrupts her.
Eda Whoo-hoo!" Eda cheers, jumping, pulling herself and Luz onto her staff with Tyla grabbing on before they take off into the sky as the guard runs into frame.
"You won't get away with this, Owl Lady!" The guard argues at the flying crew before turning back in shame, looking at his hands. "Yeah, all right. You did. You got away with it. She got away with it, everybody! Typical."
The Skies above the land
[Cut to Eda and a crying Luz flying on Eda's staff above the Isles.]
"You can open your eyes now, human." Eda encouraged, "Luz does so and yells, nearly fell off the staff when she sees the ground below them.
"Flying staves, crazy monsters, you're a witch! What is this place?" Luz demanded. At the same time, Tyla watched the world zoom by in awe. Eda picked up Luz and righted her back up.
"This is the Boiling Isles. Every myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours."Eda explained with Various winged creatures flown by them as Eda talks. A griffin that looks extremely similar to the one Luz made at school flies up next to them and screeches.
"A griffin!" Luz called out. "The griffin barfs spiders. "I knew it!" She realized.
"Huh, I'm amazed at that presentation being true, so creatures like dragons are real?" Tyla pondered.
"Yep. Griffins, dragons, vampires, giraffes..." Eda lists only for the last creature to catch the 2 off guard.
"Giraffes?" Luz and Tyla asked, baffled.
"Oh, yeah. We banished those guys. Bunch of freaks." she landed on the staff and hoped off, though her hand stays behind. Tyla gets off alright, while Luz sees the hand move on its own.
"Aaah! Luz freaks out and jumped off the staff. "Oops." Eda realized and screwed her hand back on. "That happens sometimes." Tyla raised an eyebrow. "Sometimes?"
Standing up, luz asked a question. Well, I've had enough adventure for today. This is clearly not the PG fantasy world I always dreamed about. So, can you help us get back home?" Eda levels her staff in front of Luz, catching her off guard
Only if you help me first. Eda chuckles, lifts her staff, and walks away with the bag following her. "Ah, now, come along, humans." The humans followed, amazed at the forest and the building they approached. "Whoa!"
The Owl House (Tyla POV)
As we approached Eda's home (nicknamed The Owl House), Luz and I were worried about the guards finding them after what happened. Eda said that her house had a state-of-the-art defense system. Out of all the ways it'd exist, I didn't expect the owl on the door to poke out and talk
"Hoot-hoot! Password, please!" The owl... Tube? asked. Eda shut it up for now, and after being eaten by it, I wondered about feeling bad for it or hating it.
"Welcome to the Owl House..." Eda showcased the living room via a snap of her fingers. It felt old yet lively. Candles alight, a cauldron next to a fireplace, and an owl-like creature splayed on the ceiling that glowed. Me and Luz awed at this. "..where I hide away from the pressures of modern life. Also the cops. Mm, also ex-boyfriends." She clarified with a chuckle.
Meanwhile luz thought it appeared beautiful though she wondered if anyone else lived there? This was answered by a shaking foot and an annoyed Eda.
"Who dares intrude upon I," A booming voiced shadow, though it would reveal himself to be... "the king of demons?" ...a small 2-legged dog wearing a skull, a towel and squeaking a rubber duck. While it was cute, I was curious how he ended up here. As for Luz, well...
"Gasp, ¡Ay, que lindo!" She picks up the little guy and treats him like the cutest thing in the world - not without reason. "Eda, he's so cute! Who's a widdle guy? Who's a widdle guy? Is it you? Is it you?"
"No! I don't know who your little guy is! Eda, who is this monster?" He demanded struggling to free himself.
Eda introduced us and siad we were to help with something which we asked about. So she explained. Long story short, King was a powerful demon until his crown was stolen, reducing him to his current self. it was stuck behind a barrier only humans could pass through.
Given what Eda was implying, me and Luz acquiesced and agreed to go along, so King prepared and Eda picked us up and ran out.
"Wait! Where are we going?" I asked.
"Somewhere super fun." she simply said. Why was this giving me a bad feeling?
The Conformatorium
"The Conformatorium, a place for those considered unsuitable for society." Eda unveils after a long ride, with the thunder clapping in response.
I sigh "Should've realized something was up
With how menacing the place looked it was like a red flag shop in the middle of nowhere!
"Whoa. These guys really have the hots for you." Luz notices Eda's wanted poster which the reward was for an insane amount!
"Yep. But we were never caught because we're too slippery." She says ( how are you chill about this?! )
"Try to catch me when I'm covered in grease. I'm a squirmy little fella!" King boasted before almost falling off of my head but I caught him. "You and I will sneak up to the top of the tower, where they're holding my crown." King explained after I put him down.
"And I'm gonna make sure the warden's distracted." Eda clarifies.
"Will I need a disguise?" Luz asked in excitement. Eda doesn't know what to say, but luz is one step ahead. "I've been waiting to use this." she pulls her hood on, flicks up cat ears. "Meow, meow." Her hoodie had cat ears! It was pretty cute. King and Eda had their own thoughts.
"It's hideous." King complained
"Oh, you'll fit right in." Eda taps the bottom of her staff against the ground, creating a round glowing platform, and steps away from it. "Hang on tight."
Suddenly, the platform rises, floating all the way up to a window in the tower, worrying me slightly. It disappears suddenly, forcing Luz and I to grab the edge of the window sill and King to cling to my feet. Eda, meanwhile, tosses her staff and casually sits down on it as it rises.
"Meet you guys at the top of the tower." Eda calls out, not caring about our safety ( Thanks Eda) Fortunately, we managed to get through, though Luz ended up falling on her face.
"Ha-ha! Cat's don't do that." King laughed but a glare from me cut it short. It was helped by me and Luz marveling at the amount of prison cells we could see. Then we heard one of them call for us.
"Hey, cat lady, how'd you get out of your cell?" the cat woman asked us.
"Oh, no, no, no. I'm not a cat. [Pulls her hood down.] Also, we're not criminals." Luz clarified.
"Not yet, you're not." King quipped.
"Yeah, we're here to find something" I told them.
"Neither are we. The stupid warden likes to lock people up who don't fit in." The cat woman, who was named Katy, explains her crimes: She was writing fanfiction about food falling in love ( I… don't entirely get it) , a blue skinned demon was there because "I like eating my own eyes". He plucked an eye out of his head as he says this, swallowing it to prove a point. The eye floats back into place. ( maybe a safety hazard I wasn't aware of? ) and the last one, a small white demon, was really big into conspiracy theories like how we were 'playthings for a higher being!' ( Makes a but more sense)
Luz was pacing around hearing their stories. "Wait. These aren't crimes. None of you actually did anything wrong." She pulled out Eda's wanted poster. "You're all just a bunch of weirdos. Like me."
Tyla felt for her, being in a similar position. However, thudding footsteps attracted our attention.
"It's Warden Wrath! Hide!" Katya warned. Luz and Tyla both run into an open cell, pulling the door down as they enter. Footsteps continue until a door is pushed open, with a pretty intimidating look man with a long mask
"I can hear you." He speaks. Luz whimpered and Tyla was worried herself hiding in the corner of the cell.
Warden Wrath Stomped forward. "Just what are you fools whispering about?" He complained when he looked down, noticing Eda's wanted poster that Luz had dropped before.
"Ah. The Owl Lady." He picked up the poster before crumpling it, turning his fist into a hammer and slammed it into the door of the cell they hid in, so much so that one of the bars bent. "I'll get my hands on her soon enough." Warden Wrath looks into the cell, and almost notices them when a squeaky voice is heard again.
"Fight against the oppwessor! We will wesist! We will conquer! We will never be afwaid of you, you old cweep!" The small prisoner lashes out. Getting his attention, the warden walks over to her cell and opens it. She stared at the opening door for a second.
"Hooway! I'm fwee!" She celebrates before Wrath grabs her fully, making her squeak. He holds her up and points at the other two prisoners.
"Let this be a lesson to all of you. There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in." He warned before he stomped away, to where he came from. Tyla hoped she'd get out for ensuring they weren't seen. A door slam later, Luz opened the cell, running to Katya's.
"Don't worry. I can get you out." Luz pulled on the lever but couldn't lift it. "No! My weak nerd arms!"
"Tyla thought about trying to push the lever, but Katya spoke first. "Just get out of here while you still can, kids. Enjoy freedom for us."
Katya walked deeper in her cell. Luz reluctantly walked away, with Tyla following behind after nodding to Katya. Further down the hallway, Eda caught up to them.
"Hey, I just checked. The warden is distracted, tormenting some tiny creature. He won't be coming around here anytime soon." She informed them. Luz continued walking without saying anything, confusing Eda watches her, confused. Eventually, they reached a towering door reading "CONTRABAND". King ran up to open the door yammering about sensing his crown's power. He fiddled with the big doorknob. It was oddly endearing. Eda seemed to agree.
Luz complained about how being weird was considered a bad thing, and while I was gonna agree, before I could, King seemed to somehow get it open. Eda had us follow 'before he hurt herself'. I made a comment about how we were late to that after we heard a zap and King yelp
Inside of the room, it was big, yet empty save for a giant glowing pillar in the center. King seemed to be on an attempt to pierce the pillar charging at the pillar headfirst, succeeding only in launching himself backwards.
"We have a pair of humans, remember?" Eda reminded him to which he acknowledged that.
Luz and Tyla looked at each other, took a pair of breaths, and reached a hand out each to the barrier. Luz walked through no problem, but Tyla was launched back like King was, though she was caught by Eda before she fell fully to the ground.
"Tyla!" Luz called out looking back to where she was. "Don't worry kid, I'll make sure nothing happens to her." Eda assured, so Luz went back in. Tyla was left wondering what was going on. "Why couldn't I go through the portal, Eda?" Tyla asked. "I'm not sure." Eda answered. "Maybe when you could come back some other time and I could help with understanding that. Haven't seen it happen to any human I've seen myself." Tyla felt grateful for that but before she could thank Eda, they heard Luz call out about what something was before walking out holding…
A Burger Queen paper crown.
Yeah, Tyla was as frustrated as Luz appeared to be. King appeared satisfied, even attempting to command a stuffed rabbit he named Francois.
Luz and Tyla look to Eda for answers and while she admitted it was just a paper crown, she explained that they didn't have much to treasure, so if something like a paper crown mattered to either of them, it was a big deal, plus as she put it, 'us weirdos have to stick together, you know?'
Luz grinned and blushed, while Tyla was satisfied.
"Well, we owe you one. Now, let's get out of here before the warden finds us and loses his head." Eda brought up, satisfied with the mission. However, a shadow loomed over her.
"Too late." Warden Wrath said at which he turned his hand into a blade and with an easy swing he decapitated Eda. Luz catches her head and screams. Tyla simply didn't know what to say about Luz holding eda's head while it just stuck its tongue out, or what could set her off…
"Ow! Oh, I hate it when that happens." Eda's head complained.
"Yep that ought a do it. She and Luz screamed louder and longer.
Luz asked the somehow alive Eda if she was ok. She said it happened when you got older. Luz and Tyla looked at each other in worry, tyla especially.
From here, Warden Wrath seemed to gloat about how he had caught eda and that he took the paper to lure the owl lady into a trap, picking up and crumbling the paper crown. King seemed distraught with the loss. 'this is a little sick' Tyla thought, wondering if she should punch the warden or look for a way out. When Eda asked what this was all for, he responded how none of them expected.
"I want you... to go out with me." He answered, holding out a bouquet of flowers. Luz, Tyla and Eda are staring with confused looks. Meanwhile, two nearby guards cheered on like this was planned! "Go Boss!" one of them cheered, to which Wrath shot the guard a thumbs-up. Apparently, he found Eda alluring due to how she always slipped past all his attempts to capture her, growing feelings over time.
Luz was hate everything he was saying right then, and Tyla felt an urge to kill rising, though she was snapped out of the feeling when the Warden tossed the bouquet over his shoulder, and reached out with his hand turned tentacles to the pair of girls, to which Tyla dodged.
While Wrath seemed like he was gonna fully propose to Eda, she called him out.
"Hey" She shouted. "This is way too far". The warden seemed unimpressed. "What's wrong with falling in love, human."
"Well, you clearly didn't think through getting her attention, as you had your guards stalk her, destroy King's crown, and then cut off her head. I doubt she will go out with you. Not to mention, you imprison people for being weird and I am not sure if I'm fully human anymore, but I will defend the innocent as the almighty Dragonborn. FUS-RO-DAH!" She spoke before shouting a roar that, while intended to finish the moment, caused a shockwave that pushed Warden Wrath and the guards back to the wall, knocking them all out, with luz eda and king alright. They were wide-eyed at what just happened, especially as Tyla seemed to look slightly different, and the dragon amulet had slipped out of her shirt.
Tyla was wondering how far the rabbit hole went, but Eda broke the silence
"As impressive as that was, we can answer the questions later. Now could one of you pick my head up." She ordered.
"Okay, we're going now." Luz agreed, grabbing Eda's head with Tyla getting King, and they and Eda's body mounted the staff. Owlbert unfurls his wings and hoots.
"Gun it, magic stick!" Eda demanded and the staff took off. This is when Warden Wrath clamored to his feet.
"Owl Lady, I won't let you get away again!" Wrath bellowed out. His arms transformed into bundles of tentacles, which he used to chase after the staff. The staff flies past prison cells, Warden Wrath in hot pursuit. Luz noticed the lever keeping Katya's cell shut. She asked for a hand from eda to which she and Tyla agreed. They open the cells of the three prisoners Luz, Tyla and King had talked to earlier, getting excited looks from them. They burst out of the Conformatorium high up with a yell from Luz and Tyla, then plummet. Warden Wrath jumped out right behind them. Both fall toward the ground. Warden Wrath extends one of his tentacles, hitting the very back of the staff and launching them off of it. They rolled for a bit, which hurt a bit for them, and Warden Wrath approached them, his hand shifting into a blade again.
Eda reattached her head, then reaches into her hair and pulls out the key to the portal door. "Luz, Tyla…" She told the girls, "go back to the human world." She hande Luz the key, then runs at Warden Wrath.
"What about you guys?" Luz wondered with Tyla feeling bad for having them
"If you think this guy is bad, you shoulda seen her last boyfriend!" King points out which Eda denied. She then got Luz and Tyla on her staff and sent them off, despite their complaints. They flew off, with eda fighting Wrath and his fire breath.
At one point, Wrath makes a hole in the conformitorium's wall, which the three prisoners peek out from. Luz flies down to talk to them.
They ask why they weren't escaping with the prisoners saying they'd get caught anyway, but Luz inspires them by saying their differences could make a change for the better and wasn't something to be locked up for. The prisoners rallied behind her and Tyla was getting into it herself. So they head off to the fight.
And it wasn't going well for Eda as Wrath gotten her cornered and is set to capture. However, before he could knock her out, the three prisoners barrel into him, tying him up and proclaiming they're more then the trash he claimed. They manage to tie him up for Luz and Tyla to see. He notices them and is furious.
"You! Who do you think you are?" he demanded.
Luz pointed at Wrath. "Do not underestimate us, Warden Wrath, for I am Luz, the human, warrior of peace. She proclaims.
"And I am Tyla, the Dragonborne. Tyla said, as the Wind blew in their hair.
Luz pulled the firecracker from her book report out of her messenger bag. "Now eat this, sucka!" she declared tossing it in front of Tyla who shouted again with enough force to send it flying towards Warden Wrath. Before he could breathe fire, the firecracker landed in Wrath's flaming mouth and went off, sending fireworks into the air. He ran away, humiliated, fireworks still going off in his mouth, while the prisoners cheered.
Eda, with King on her shoulder, walked closer to the girls, putting a hand on Luz's shoulder.
there seemed to be banter around eda relationships, but Tyla was getting tired and if it weren't for being picked up, she might have passed out. And so the four flew off on the staff, fireworks still going off behind them.
In the living room of the Owl House, where Eda leans her staff against the couch, and Tyla was on the couch, a little tired but better then when they left the renamed prison.
"You doing good, Kid?" Eda asked with luz and king looking in slight worry.
"Yeah, just a little winded." She responded. "Like I never knew that the Draconic language could be so powerful. And as for me, I wonder where my true lineage is if im not fully human."
I wonder that too, but I can always look into that later," Eda ponders. She then turned to Luz. "Anyways, a deal's a deal. Let's get you both home." She snapped her fingers, which has the key flies out of Luz's bag and into Eda's hand. She pressed the eye, and the portal door unfolds itself in front of the fireplace.
Tyla gets up ready to head off with luz, but she looks back to see King visibly sad. Tyla wished she could've done something about it but Luz had the solution: a crown from her azura doll. It sufficed and while Tyla didn't have anything to offer she simply bowed and wished him luck, which he accepted and went to command a plant earning a giggle from the girls.
Eda then grabs the Azura book off the table and hands it to Luz. As they walk to the door the look at the pamphlet for the Summer Camp but then luz stop when she looks at the Good Witch Azura book and notices something: the three figures one the cover - the witch, the mentor and the animal companion - matched herself, eda and King. Plus, if Tyla was part dragon like she implied, that might be a fun twist for her to befriend her on her journey to become a witch. While Tyla didn't fully get it, she figured Luz would want to stick around. Plus, she might find out her origin. So they make the case of sticking around as they wished to stay with Eda and make a name for themselves here - Luz as a witch and Tyla as a dragonborn. This surprised Eda as humans couldn't do magic and dragons were a touchy subject beyond the beasts of this land. However with some help from King, they convinced eda to let them stay, on the condition that they help with work around the house and for Tyla specifically to disguise as a witch - as her ears are as pointed as a witch, which they only noticed then. They reciprocated with a tight hug
Upstairs, Luz and Tyla opened a creaking door to a storage room. They set themselves up in there and even dress into pajamas, before laying in and putting down some personal belongings - Luz had a picture of her and her mom, and Tyla took out her Nintendo switch and left her dragon Amulet hanging off it. phones vibrated, and Tyla received a message from her dad wondering how she was doing at summer camp? There was hesitancy, but then King walked in requesting to sleep with the girls. Luz patted the middle to which snuggled in, closer to Tyla. This warmed their hearts, and they looked at each other with an unspoken agreement to help each other with figuring their places in the demon realm. With that, Tyla responded that she'd made a friend there, replaced her glasses with her night mask and dozed off. Unbeknownst to anyone, the amulet glowed a bright green.
