Preston Ward Condra Plays Half-Life 2 (Let's Play)

I found this in my laptop hard drive in the txt documents. I played a short stint of the campaign of Half-Life 2. I wrote this back in October 2013. The Xbox version of the game, where I simply play through the first few levels of the game, before effectively giving up on it. Krystal from Star Fox is modded in HL2 as nothing more, than window dressing. Very unconventional game.

2. Chapter 2: A Red Letter Day

"Let me buy you a drink."

Krystal-I mean Alyx opens up a vending machine and suddenly I'm in Dr. Kleiner's office.

"COME OUT LEMARR! WHERE ARE YOU!?"

I see some kind of spider-toid thing, knock things over in the lab.

I just casually walk around the lab for the next 10 minutes doing nothing.

Krystal, Barney and Dr. Kleiner are all talking to one another.

I don't even say anything. I guess Gordon Freeman is totally mute in this game.

I think Barney says something like "I hate cats!"

I notice I can walk around; however I want in this lab, and nobody seem to care that I'm ignoring, everything they're saying.

Barney opens up some kind of tube. It's an orange/brown outfit.

I walk up to the outfit and suddenly I have it on. Video game logic.

I now have a health meter at 100.

"I modified your suit, to draw power from combine energy."

I click the Y button to do something...

There is a picture on one of the walls in the lab, where it shows Dr. Kleiner when he was younger.

I can barely make out anything else in the photo but, Sean Connery and that strange guy at the beginning of the game are in the photo as well, I think.

I see Alyx briefly exchange words with her father, on a monitor in the lab.

Barney yells "WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!"

Dr. Kleiner tries teleporting Alyx Vance where her father is at.

Alyx wants me to put in, a loose plug on the ground in the outlet.

I didn't even overhear the conversation, I missed out on it. I just do so accordingly. Like really? Okay.

I do and Alyx teleports in the same room, where she's now safely in the same confines as her father.

Barney exchanges small talk with me.

"Good job Gordon! Throwing that switch and all? I can see you're MIT education, really pays for itself."

No comment.

Can I move on? I've had enough of this abhorrent dialogue.

Dr. Kleiner now wants me to get into the teleporter and meet up with Alyx and her father.

I get inside the teleporter.

Dr. Kleiner initiates the teleportation sequence. Barney flips the same switch, that I used to teleport Alyx.

As it spins, Lemarr jumps on top of the voltage box where the teleporter is at.

Some sparks fly, okay you don't see the sparks fly because the graphics in this game are terrible.

But eventually the machine rattles and the teleporter, deserts me in the middle of nowhere.

I have no idea where I'm at.

I see a second health indicator at the bottom of the screen.

I have 100 health and 25 suit.

I have no idea, what the 25 number next to the "suit" means.

Loading screen for 45 seconds. Longest one yet.

I simply walk straight and look up at some kind of blue building, when I suddenly cut off.

"HEY GORDON!"

It's Barney.

"The citadel is on full alert! Get out of City 17 as fast as you can! You know the canals right? They'll take you to Eli's lab! Here! I think you dropped this back in Black Mesa! Good luck out there buddy!"

He gives me...a crowbar.

He parts ways with me and I move on.

I use the right trigger on the Xbox controller to attack with the crowbar.

I simply use it to clear my way, through pieces of plywood and I move on.

I continue this procedure for about two to three minutes.

I climb up a ladder and work my way, back outside.

I completed the level in 37 minutes and 42 seconds.

This time accounts, for the first and seconds levels together.

Eli is the name of Alyx's father.
