Quite far away on an abandoned island; there was a temple covered by the wild plants as Badniks came across them and began firing at the plants to make a clean path as well as patrol the area. Leading the way was Brass waiting impatiently for something to shoot at while Robotnik was hovering up on the ground in his Eggpod trying a cup of tea from the built in tea machine that he had installed in the contraption.

He tried it and squirmed with disgust; "Mean Bean Machine needs work in order to calibrate a decent cup of tea..." Robotnik said to the log recorder installed into the Eggpod and his gauntlet. "Now remember my cyborganic soldier; I can't have you shooting all willy nilly in here once we find something alive... The last of the Ixis wizards rests here and we will need him in order to find where Albion was sent so that we could claim the long lost 7th Chaos Emerald..." Robotnik reminded Brass who grumbled.

"Whatever but once he has served his purpose; I am frying him just like I am doing with the rest of those animals..." Brass retorted as they came across a certain chamber. They went inside and saw that resting on a platform was a tall figure with long ears, a horn, a long white beard, a purple outfit, a black high collared cape, gloves and while he had a hand on one arm, on the other was a claw. Resting on top was none other than the Warp Topaz...

HOURS EARLIER

Waiting outside the doors to the throne room at the Kingdom of Acorn palace was Sonic and team and Nicole was striking a pose while Tails was setting something up on the Miles Electric. "We realised that since technically speaking Nicole's body is still a hologram with the nanites then we can use the Miles Electric to transform her appearence! We can have her updated as she gets older so that she can age as well as change her clothes." Tails explained as Nicole's clothes now looked a jacket and sunglasses combo that looked like it was popular in the 90s on Earth.

"What do you think Sally? Sonic my main man suggested me trying this look out!" Nicole asked giving a high five to Sonic as Sally sighed before Tails put her back to normal.

"All this time you have been spending with Sonic is corrupting you worse than any computer virus..." Sally groaned with her arms folded as Sonic got a smirk on his face.

"How about we transform Nicole to make her look older? Imagine her as an adult dressed like she is doing a swimsuit photoshoot?" Sonic teased enjoying the red on the cheeks of Sally and Nicole couldn't resist giggling.

"This menace is Mobius' hero..." muttered Antoine shaking his head as they were let in inside the throne room. Their eyes widened as they saw that Geoffrey was there with his team.

"Let me guess; the infamous Geoffrey St John..." Nicole asked with a frown having been explained to her by Sally what happened when the team met him.

"So if it isn't the digital recreation of Dr Ellidy's deceased daughter's mind. What a useful tool to have in store." Geoffrey said looking their way as this got the team angry.

"Watch what you say about my girlfriend Geoffrey! She isn't a tool or someone whose existence you should discount!" Sally warned him as the guards seperated the two as Elias faced them.

"I brought you here as the Secret Service have gotten intel that Robotnik has managed to find himself the resting place for the last of the Ixis wizards; the wizards that served Mogul and acted as his forces as he waged war against the Echidna Empire." Elias explained as they were surprised.

"Wait... Some time ago Robotnik got tomes and said he was going to bring back the lost home of the Echidna Empire so does he think that this wizard will help him find where the island went?" Sonic asked remembering that little mission with the others having been filled in and Elias nodded.

"I am afraid that this is more than a possibility Sonic; I want bothh of your groups working together to go to where Robotnik is heading and stop him before he finds what he is looking for. I know that you had your differences but I hope that you can all work together." Elias said as Geoffrey stared at the opposing group.

"Well this shouldn't cause any problems..." chuckled Rouge sarcastically shaking her head.

"Don't worry your highness; I can put our past differences behind us and lead us all on this mission..." Geoffrey said as this got Sonic and Sally angry.

"If you really think that I am going to let you take the lead on this mission then..." Sonic ranted but Elias put up a hand making Sonic reluctantly stop as Geoffrey smirks.

"Don't worry Sonic; Geoffrey will not be leading this mission." Elias said as Geoffrey's smirk fell and turned into a shocked look as Sonic and his group were relieved. "I have handpicked a leader for this mission and he has agreed to come out of retirement..." Elias said as stepped in was a tall muscular doberman Mobian in a grey military jacket and Sally and Nicole gave a salute upon realising who it is.

"Sergeant Doberman! Been a long time!" Sonic said as the doberman smiled and took Sonic's hand to shake.

"Sergeant Doberman was one of the greatest soldiers that our kingdom's military has ever had." Sally explained to Tails who started saluting.

"So proud to hear how far you have come to the scared little orphan you were when I first found you. Used what that monster Robotnik did to you and turn it into the greatest weapon against him, become a true hero." Sergeant Doberman told him as he flashed back...

Sergeant Doberman had been the soldier to have found Sonic in the escape pod after escaping Robotnik; he extended warm smile and hand only to be shocked as Sonic ran off to great speed. He went to have a look and found him kneeled in front of the destroyed village of the Green Hill Zone. "Don't worry son; those human's can't harm you anymore and I promise you that you will have anything you need..." Sergeant Doberman told him softly putting a hand on the crying Sonic's shoulders.

Later after taking their crafts to the island they explored the temple and took care of any Badniks in their way; Sergeant Doberman was armed with a bazooka and said bombastically "remember troops; keep calm and when you find Robotnik's Badniks then don't die for your Kingdom and instead make them die for their Empire! Send them to their robotic afterlife and make them pray for their robotic gods!"

Geoffrey then slyly came up to Sally and said "you know Princess; we can always put what happened last time behind us and when you realise that you shouldn't settle with that computer program you think is your friend... You should be with an actual person and down the line could give you an actual child..."

Sally then angrily pushed him back ready to kick him in the groin and Sergeant Doberman snapped at Geoffrey shouting "St John; what do you think you are doing? That is no way to treat a member of your troop, let alone the Princess of the Kingdom who I might add is a teenager while you're an adult! I have sent soldiers to the brig for less! I want to hear an apology or else you will be giving me 100 push ups right now!" Geoffrey reluctantly gave his apology embarassed as the team were snickering.

"Okay Sergeant Doberman is now my idol..." Sonic laughed to Tails and he was taking pleasure in this image as well as noticing Antoine was doing his best to look dignified and trying not to laugh at Geoffrey's misfortune.

"Mine too; this older creep thinking he's a real life protagonist of a spy movie. There is only one boy I will accept putting the moves on my girlfriend." Nicole told them and gave Sonic a wink much to his and Tails' confusion as she sighed. "Am I being too subtle..." Nicole sighed to herself.

They then found Robotnik and Brass overlooking the body of the being and the Warp Topaz; They then went to attack as Robotnik sent his Badniks after them with them fighting them together. "Nice blasting Whisper!" Sonic complimented Whisper as she was staying far away to blast at the Badniks and Whisper gave him a thumbs up. Tails was blasting away as Rouge was letting the Badniks fire at her only to fly away to dodge and got them to shoot in front of others.

Brass had used a latest upgrade in his robotic arms to turn his hands into arm cannosn to fire at the groups only to have to dodge as Sergeant Doberman was firing his bazooka at him. "So if it isn't Huge Brass himself; the murderer of King Maximillian Acorn! What's it like having to spend the decade knowing that you lost and your precious President got sent to prison for the rest of his wretched life! Please tell me before I have fun ending you!" Sergeant Doberman asked with glee on his face as Brass furiously started blasting at Sergeant Doberman with him dodging.

"I was a hero to the humans; helping to claim this planet filled with animal freaks for mankind! They all turned on me after the spineless acting President surrendered; I was their hero and they turned their backs on me! I am what you would have been if we had won!""" Brass roared as the two ex-soldiers focused on eachother.

Antoine was using his sword, Sally using her acrobatics and wrist blades, Tails was using his blaster, Nicole was fighting against the Badniks with moves from combat training with Sally while Geoffrey was using his crossbow weapon. Sonic was speeding through Badniks and Robotnik took the time to use the Chaos energy stored in the Eggpod to use a ray onto the figure.

The figure awoke and and slowly got his strength and got up; noticing the fights that were happening. He telekinetically summoned a stick into his hand that transformed into a staff and got used a spell to freeze everyone. "I... am Naugus and I have been asleep until someone could get my strength back but I feel energy of the Chaos Emeralds..." the figure said holding onto the Warp Topaz with his claw. "Who has restored me?" Naugus demanded looking around and Robotnik smirked in his Eggpod.

"I did; I have claimed one of the Chaos Emeralds for myself back at my base and I channeled energy to restore you great last of the Ixis Wizards. I am Doctor Julian Robotnik; leader of the soon to be global Eggman Empire and I desire your help to find where the island of Albion is so that I can retrieve the Chaos Emerald there. You and Albion have been gone for thousands of years." Robotnik explained as Naugus digested this information as everyone else struggled to free themselves from their binds and otherwise could only watch.

"I shall help you Robotnik but you must swear allegiance to me and your Empire must become mine!" Naugus told Robotnik and Robotnik frowned as he used his gauntlet to set the Badniks to focus on Naugus and attack.

"I serve no one; you will be helping me with no one as the master but me!" Robotnik retorted as Naugus was managing to fight back quite well with his fire, water and earth magic and everyone else got free from their binds.

"We can't risk Naugus being the victor here... Who knows what he is capable off with his powers!" Sergeant Doberman said as they focused their attacks on Naugus; weird as it is that right now they were kind of unwittingly helping out Robotnik.

Naugus was quite strong and even Sonic mid Spindash in the air was caught by him telekinitically and sent back. Naugus sent magical attacks to Robotnik but he caught it with a Chaos energy powered forcefield and began drawing more Chaos energy into his Badniks and Eggpod. He had them all and Brass focus on blasting Naugus as he was grunting.

"This temple was once the home of the Brotherhood of Ixis and it shall be the place of it's rebirth... I shall summon from the Void... Albion so that it's Chaos Emerald shall be mine..." Naugus said using the Warp Topaz and Geoffrey ended up lunging at him to try and finish Naugus off.

There was a blast and they were sent back; they looked and Geoffrey was unconsious but Naugus was gone and there was a hole in the ceiling. Geoffrey was help by his team and they looked up and noticed a floating island much to their eyes widening. "Albion; it's here!" Robotnik said as he retretaed with glee along with Brass even if Brass looked like he wanted to fight the Mobians.

Then the two teams went to where the Secret Service craft and the Tornado was; "You send Geoffrey back while we take care of Robotnik onto that island!" Sergeant Doberman told Geoffrey's team as they nodded.

"So... Did we see Naugus die..." Tails asked fearfully as he got into the Tornado's pilot seat and the group didn't look comfortable with the possible answers.

"I don't know but I am certain that another powerful problem is out of our hair!" Sonic told Tails as he got up on the wing of the Tornado. Unknown to them within Geoffrey's head there was the spirit of Naugus dormant with his physical body destroyed by the Chaos blasts.

He was able to put his spirit into Geoffrey's mind to be dormant until he had a chance to claim this body for himself. Until then the Tornado with Sonic's team floated up to the floating island that was Albion the home of the long lost Echidna Empire...

Sergeant Doberman came from Adventures of Sonic and I have him as a parody of heroic military characters from movie just like Major Chip Hazard was from Small Soldiers. Funny doing such a parody as a hero in this as I really like military villains in fiction; especially seeing those that seem to think that they are the heroes in the story. Examples that comes to mind is Thunderbolt Ross from Marvel and Colonel Packard from Kong Skull Island who is my favourite military villain.
