Sonic and Enerjak charged at eachother and caused a shockwave that sent others back and Sonic flew into the sky and Enerjak followed as they then began clashing with everyone beginning to fight their enemies back on ground as those that looked up saw 2 blurs fighting against eachother.
It was like watching the unstoppable force against the immovable object.
Sonic and Enerjak traded blows and Sonic began telling him "Knuckles... Listen... I am not using my fully strength and I could easily beat you down but I want you to fight this... You don't want to do this... I know you can beat whatever happened to you..." Sonic told him as his face began looking pleadingly.
"Knuckles... Think... Please... Remember when we showed you around Mobotropolis and the strength of basic decency and restraint... We are your friends and we helped you out..." Sonic told him and the part of Knuckles deep down inside Enerjak began to think.
Knuckles thought of being shown around Mobotropolis and the words that Sonic, Sally and Tails told him and being shown of the peace statue made to commemorate the end of the war...
Enerjak stopped as it was clear that Knuckles was trying to fight back; Sonic smiled and grabbed his hand saying "Let me help you with that big guy..."
Sonic concentrated and soon the Enerjak armor was forced off Knuckles who was glowing dark pink and Sonic looked relieved; Knuckles pointed to the armor and Sonic smirked as they sharing the power of all 7 Chaos Emeralds used their free hands to destroy the Enerjak armor into nothingness.
They then look down and concentrated with all the destruction down below fixed and the guards and Sonic's friends all got their strength back. Antoine tossed his borrowed sword back as he saw his own own fixed.
"This can't be..." Zachary remarked in outrage as he was tackled by Thrash and Lien-Da went to help him but was tackled by Shade and Sally working together.
Then from Zachary's cloak floated up the Warp Topaz; "Let's destroy this thing together..." Sonic asked Knuckles and he nodded but then there was the spirit of Locke looking in disbelief appearing to Knuckles.
"Knuckles... What are you doing my son! Your destiny is to restore the Echidna Empire and now you are helping these lowly creatures and attacking your own kind? Take the full power of the Emeralds from the Hedgehog and achieve what you are supposed to right now!" Locke commanded him but Knuckle shook his head.
"You do not get to decide what my destiny is; my destiny is mine and mine alone to decide and I shall decide that it's to help my friends take down those that threaten Mobius! The Echidna Empire a relic of the past and shall remain in the history books!" Knuckles told Locke as they opened up a portal.
Locke then felt himself being detached from the Chaos Emerald and then being pulled into the portal that was to a blank dimension. "Son... You don't understand the ramifications of what you are... Do you know what i have been keeping from escaping the Emerald all along..." Locke pleaded but it fell on deaf ears as he was sucked into the portal.
Sonic and Knuckles then floated down and and with a single thought all the Dark Legion soldiers had their armors and cyborg attachment malfunction. "This can't be..." Zachary muttered as he was in pain from how he was damaged in his flesh and robotic parts and Thrash then threw him through the portal that was brought down.
"My friends... The evil that were done to us... Have been avenged..." Thrash said with tears in his eyes as Tails hugged him and Antoine smiled as he lightly tapped his shoulder.
Knuckles and Sonic then crushed the Warp Topaz as it seemed like it was about to explode and they then threw it into the portal as it closed. The Warp Topaz exploded destroying everything in the blank dimension including Dr Zachary.
They then began separating from the Emeralds but one was flying past into the sky and there was a shadow of a grinning mammoth inside.
"Well that sucked... But that's a problem for another time... Let's hear it for Knuckles who helped me..." Sonic said with a smile and Knuckles looked at the scared looks from the civilians and thought that it was deserved considering what he had done as Enerjak. Then they then began clapping and cheering for them both with Sonic's team joining in.
At the Casino Night building; Clutch was overseeing it being fixed up and remarking about how expensive it all was. However he spotted the Chaos Emerald falling down to the island. He then grinned and had his guards follow him to make sure that he could claim what it was.
They got there and stopped at the massive figure in front of them; a mammoth Mobian larger than any bipedal creature on the entire planet and it made even Clutch fearful as they spotted the Chao Emerald sticking out of his belly button.
"Finally... After all this time trapped... Mobius' greatest hero Mogul has return..." smirked the creature.
At Green Hill Zone; Sonic, Tails and Thrash were fishing together with Thrash excited. They were so into their bonding together that they didn't recognise the craft landing near them. "How does it feel knowing that what was done to you and your friends have been fully avenged..." Sonic asked Thrash who looked like he had achieved just accomplished the biggest achievement ever.
"Feels great and now I can fully be whatever I want to be and right now I want to catch a bigger fish than either of you! You can still count on me helping out if you end up really needing it..." Thrash replied.
"Great to hear and in your dreams are you beating me at fishing!" Sonic laughed.
"What do you think will happen in that Cyberdark Colony dimension anyway?" Tails asked as they then noticed Knuckles coming up to them.
"Shade tells me that once they realise that the mission was a failure and their new Grandmaster and previous one are not returning; they will just have to continue living their lives there and elect a new one." Knuckles told them sitting next to them. "Tell your girlfriend again that I am grateful for the ship and so Shade and can visit whenever we want from Albion!" Knuckles said as Shade had decided to join him on Albion.
"How are you taking what has happened with losing the Emerald, your life's purpose being for naught and having to banish your father's spirit?" Sonic asked in a slow voice as Knuckles was in thought and sighed.
"Honestly... All my life; I have done what was asked of me and it never really brought me joy but now I am free to be what I want to be and it's a relief. Albion is staying up so that should protect it but we will find the Emerald soon but in the meantime... I will just start to forge my own path!" Knuckles said as Nicole appeared and found a spare fishing rod for knuckles and smiled at the 4 boys laughing together as they started fishing.
In case you are wondering; yeah Zachary and Locke are indeed gone for good; destroyed in the lone dimension along with the Warp Topaz. Plus Thrash will be just a friend and occasional on field ally; he is not officially part of Team Sonic and the same for Knuckles and Shade.
