FADE IN:
EXT. OCEAN - DAY
Aonung and his friends take Logan out into the middle of the ocean. They stare at him with annoyance and disappointment.
AONUNG
(to Logan)
You're not one of us. You don't belong here.
LOGAN
(defeated)
I know. I'm sorry.
Without another word, Aonung and his friends leave Logan alone in the ocean. Logan tries to tread water, but he starts to sink.
Logan struggles to keep his head above water. He coughs up saltwater and tries to paddle towards the surface, but he can't get there.
Suddenly, a large whale swims up and scoops Logan onto its back. Logan coughs up more water and looks up at the whale in amazement.
LOGAN
(thanking the whale)
Thank you! Thank you so much!
The whale communicates back to Logan through song, asking him why he was left alone in the ocean.
LOGAN
(explaining)
They were testing me. I'm not one of them.
The whale nods and gives Logan a ride back to shore. Logan swims with the whale, feeling rejuvenated and grateful.
CUT TO:
EXT. SHORE - DAY
Logan strolls onto the beach with the whale by his side. The Metkayina, Jake, and Neyitiri run up to greet him, relieved to see him alive.
JAKE
(hugging Logan)
Thank goodness, you're safe!
NEYTIRI
(hugging Logan)
We were so worried!
LOGAN
(humbled)
I'm sorry. I didn't want to cause any trouble.
JAKE
(proudly)
You're one of us now, Logan. You proved that by surviving out here. But I need to know what happened
Logan smiles, thinking that he's finally earned their acceptance. Suddenly, he realizes something important.
LOGAN
(determined)
Nothing happened dad I just couldn't keep up
Jake nods, but he knows the other Navi left LOGAN almost to die.
FADE OUT.
