Inside the Castle of Lions, the Arusian King tells his version of Voltron's battle against the Galactic Gladiator before a party of Arusians, along with the two Alteans, the Paladins, and the Lions. Two groups of Arusians act as either combatant.
"The monster fell from the sky! It was an epic battle, but Voltron was victorious!" Said the Arusian King while telling the story.
Then the Arusians, who were pretending to be the Robeast were knock down by the other Arusians, who were pretending to be Voltron.
"No. I said, Voltron was victorious!" Said the Arusian King cheering loudly.
The Arusians end the battle accurately, and all the Arusians cheer for the performance, even Allura, Coran, and the Paladins clapped for the performance, even the Lions enjoy it, and Allura walk towards the Arusian King.
"Thank you, Your Majesty, for that. . . Wonderful production. It saddens me that we must leave tomorrow, but we must continue our battle with Zarkon and spread peace throughout the universe." Said Allura giving the Arusian King an Altean communicator. "Your Highness... please accept this gift. This will allow you to contact us anytime you need help. Arus will be the first planet in the Voltron Alliance."
"Hoorah!" Shouted the Arusian King cheering.
Then the Arusian King holds up the communicator and the Arusians cheer. As they all enjoy the party, Hunk approach to Keith and Lana, while Yellow goes to Red and Blue.
"We ought to get something like that." Said Hunk looking at Lana and Keith.
"Like what, Honey-Bee?" Asked Lana in confusion.
"You know, like, a cheer. Like, a team cheer that we do." Said Hunk and Lance understood.
Keith didn't seem to understand what Hunk met, but Lana understood what her best friend meant, and tried to figure out the perfect team cheer. Then Lana begin drink the beverage she was offered for the party, but as soon as she sips it, she was disgusted from the taste, and spits out the drink as she goes to Coran.
"Coran, what is this?" Said Lana cringing in disgust.
"Oh, this is Nunvill, the nectar of the gods." Said Coran sipping his Nunvill.
"It tastes like hot dog water and feet." Said Lana in disgust. "And it has a taste of tequila, which burns a bit."
"Don't worry, my dear, you'll get use to it, and fun fact: it makes a wonderful hair tonic as well." Said Coran sprinkling Nunvill on his mustache and it grows luxurious.
However it made Lana retches in disgust that she place her cup on a hover platter, that was floating past her, and tried to get rid of the Nunvill taste off her.
'Geez Blue, is your Paladin doing okay?' Asked Red looking at Lana.
'Lana is fine Red, I'm guessing where she comes from, they don't have Nunvill drink, and I'm guessing that she doesn't like the taste.' Said Blue looking at her Paladin.
'Well, I'm guessing that they're about to get use to it, and other kind of food from different planets, since we would be fighting the Galra Empire and defeat Zarkon.' Said Yellow looking at the other two Lions.
'We're going to have to, since the Galra Empire have ruled the universe for 10,000 years.' Said Red realizing the situation and then Lance woke up.
'Lana, are you alright?' Asked Blue looking concerned for her Paladin.
"Yeah, I'm okay Blue, I really wish that Coran didn't have to tell me that information about the Nunvill." Said Lana groaning in disgust.
'Hmm, guess your kind doesn't have that kind of drink.' Said Blue as Lana cringe from the Nunvill.
Coran approaches Shiro, who is watching the Castle's entrance, with the Black Lion besides him.
"Not feeling well? Try some Nunvill. Settles the stomach and brightens your smile." Said Coran offering some Nunvill to Shiro.
"I'm not sure we should be letting everyone wander in and out of the Castle like this. It doesn't seem safe." Said Shiro looking out of the Castle's entrance.
'I know how you feel Shiro, I feel like something terrible might happen.' Said Black looking out of the Castle's entrance.
"Oh, these Arusians won't hurt anything. . ." Said Coran till he sees Arusians playing with a hover platter. "Much."
The Black Lion also saw the Arusians playing with the hover platter, and Coran cringes at the sound of them crashing, and Black rolled his eyes.
"Besides, it's only fair to let them see the inside of a Castle that's been sitting on their planet for so long." Said Coran smiling at Shiro.
"But who knows when Zarkon will attack again? I'm going to do a perimeter check, just in case." Said Shiro as he exits the Castle.
'I'm coming with you Shiro.' Said Black following Shiro.
Meanwhile outside of the Castle of Lions, Sendak watches the Castle with an evil smirk and then Haxus arrived and kneels next to him.
"Commander Sendak, the Sentries are in position around the Arusian village." Said Haxus informing Sendak.
"Luck is on our side. Look, the Castle defenses are down. The door is wide open." Said Sendak smirking evilly at the entrance of the Castle. "With all these Arusians coming in and out, it should be nothing for you to infiltrate."
"I may not have to. Look. The small one has a Galra drone they've repurposed." Said Haxus spying on Pidge With Rover. "If I can just get close enough to clone its signature code, I can send our bomb drone in undetected."
""I knew you would not disappoint me, Haxus." Said Sendak smirking evilly as Haxus leaves for the Castle.
Inside the Castle entrance hall, Allura was watching the Paladins and the Lions with the Altean Mice with her, and she was seeing them how they are enjoying the party.
"Look at them, the new Paladins of Voltron. The fate of the universe is on their shoulders." Said Allura smiling at the Paladins.
As Allura watch from the balcony, Keith drinks the Nunvill but he finds it disgusting so he spits it out on Hunk, Hunk turns away and then reveals Arusian food stuck to his eyes.
"Ow, my eyes!" Shouted Hunk and he and Keith laugh, and Allura looked unimpressed.
"I must portray strength, so no one can tell how concerned I am about the fate of our mission." Said Allura and the blue mouse with the red eyes squeaks. "Let's. . . Keep that a secret."
Then the blue mouse with the red eyes squeaks again, and Allura raised an eyebrow, meaning the mouse is telling her something interesting.
"Who else has secrets?" Asked Allura and the blue mouse with red eyes uses use the yellow mice as a demonstration. "Hunk tried to eat what? That is rather amusing. What other secrets?"
Then the small blue mouse with blue eyes fixing it's fur to pretend to be Keith practicing his sword moves and frowning, and Allura frown a bit.
"That seems like Keith." Said Allura shrugging.
And then the blue mouse with blue eyes pretends to look adorable, telling Allura that Pidge is actually a girl.
"Pidge is a what!?" Asked Allura in shock.
Then Allura leans over to the balcony and watches Pidge, who is secretly putting alien food inside her backpack, then as an Arusian walks pass her, Pidge grabs the stick and pick her ear with the stick, till she sniff it and turns away in disgust.
"Hmm. . . Are you sure?" Asked Allura and the small blue mouse nods. "I'm getting to the bottom of this."
Meanwhile back at the party, Lana was looking down at his Nunvill drink, seeing his reflection, as she was talking with Hunk, while the Blue and Yellow Lion sit next to them.
"I guess we should get used to this space juice." Said Lana looking at her drink. "Who knows when we'll get back home again?"
'And don't forget Lana, when we free other planets from the Galra, you're going have to get use to eating their foods since they have different customs, but I'm sure they'll be tasting than tbe Nunvill.' Said Blue looking at Lana and she smiles at her as she pets her.
"Yeah, if ever." Said Hunk looking at his cup.
"What do you mean?" Asked Lana looking at Hunk.
"I mean, if this Zarkon guy has been ruling for 10,000 years, how long do you think it will take for us to fix it? You know, if we live." Said Hunk looking worried about their mission.
'He does have a point, Zarkon has ruled for over 10,000 years, it's not going to be easy to free the whole universe.' Said Yellow agreeing with Hunk.
"Right. That." Said Lana looking worried and Hunk looks at the alien food floating from the floating platter and he's grabbed.
"Hey, what do you think the chances are of us landing on a nacho planet?" Said Hunk smiling at the food.
"Well, there's only one planet with Verader Beach, pizza shack looking over the water and the garlic knots and my mom's hugs." Said Lana and starts to tear up. "I'm sorry, I think this Nunvill is getting to me, I gotta go."
Then Lana starts leaving as she was almost about to cry, Blue starts following Lana as she's worried for her, and Coran have also witness Lana leaving. Hunk felt bad for Lana knowing she's homesick and misses her family so much. Meanwhile, Allura, approaches to Pidge, who is followed by Rover and Green.
"So, Pidge, we haven't had a chance to really. . . Talk." Said Allura smiling at Pidge. "Tell me about yourself."
"Hmm. . . Well, I like peanut butter, and I like peanut butter cookies, but I hate peanuts. They're so dry. Also, I sweat a lot. I mean, in general, unrelated to the peanuts." Said Pidge as she tries to walk away but Allura intervenes.
"I suppose I was thinking of something a little more personal?" Said Allura as she winks. "We have a lot in common."
"Like what? Asked Pidge looking unimpressed.
"Oh, well. . . Both of us had our fathers taken away by Zarkon." Said Allura smiling at Pidge.
"Yeah, but I'm going to get mine back." Said Pidge, which Allura looking in pained, and Pidge realizes how harsh that that statement was. "Augh. . . Sorry. I. . . I really didn't mean to. . ."
"No, I understand, I just want you to know that you can confide in me. If there's anything you ever want to talk about. . ." Said Allura and Pidge is silent. "Anything."
"Huh? ... Okay. I do have something to tell you." Said Pidge and Allura is overjoyed.
"I had a feeling! What is it?" Said Allura smiling at Pidge.
"I'm leaving Team Voltron." Said Pidge and Allura is a about to speak, expecting something else entirely, but she stops.
"Wait, what?!" Asked Allura in shock, even the Green Lion was shock a bit.
"I decrypted the information from the Galra ship about where my family might be, or at least where they were, I've made up my mind, I'm leaving tonight." Said Pidge looking at Allura.
"Pidge, you can't. You're one of five Paladins. You have a sacred trust to defend the universe." Said Allura trying to convince Pidge to stay.
"My first priority is to find my family! I thought you of all people would understand. If you had a chance to get your father back, wouldn't you?" Said Pidge and Allura frowns. "I'm sorry. I should go tell everyone else."
The Pidge starts walking away to find Shiro and talk to him about leaving to find her family, till the Green Lion starts speaking to Pidge.
'Pidge, are you sure you have to leave, you know I can't be able to form Voltron with the other lions without my Paladin.' Said Green looking at her Paladin.
"I'm sorry Green, you are an amazing lion and I know we can make a great team, but my first priority was to find my family." Said Pidge looking at Green and feel a bit upset. "I'm sorry Green, but I need to find them."
'Well, if you really need to, then I won't stop you Pidge.' Said Green looking at her Paladin, and Pidge finds Shiro outside the Castle with the Black Lion.
"Shiro, I need to talk to you." Said Pidge as she approaches Shiro.
So Shiro goes to Pidge with Black following him. What they both didn't know is that Haxus was hiding among the rocks nearby the castle and scans Rover for its code. As Shiro is led inside by Pidge, with the Black and Green Lion following them. Haxus reconfigures the bomb drone with Rover's signature. Then Haxus activates the bomb and leaves as the bomb drone heads inside the Castle.
Meanwhile in the Bridge of the Castle, Lana sits forlornly as she leans her cheek on her hand, while Blue is laying next to her, looking worried for her Paladin, as she feels the homesickness within her, and Coran approaches.
"Mind if I join you?" Asked Coran standing next to Lana.
"How far away from Earth do you think we are, Coran?" Asked Lana looking at Coran.
"Let's take a look." Said Coran as he brings up a holographic map of the universe to show Lana. "Earth is over here. And we're all. . . The way. . . over. . ."
Coran moves the map and still does not reach Arus. Lana's expression and heart began to fall as Coran continues swiping past the endless stars and solar systems and galaxies, and she starts to feel tears coming from her eyes.
"You ever notice how far the planets are from each other, Coran?" Asked Lana sounding upset and Blue looks up at her.
"Yes. Haven't you been paying attention?" Asked Coran as Lana approaches the map and Coran stops to where Arus is.
"Yeah, but I mean, like, they're really, really far away." Said Lana as she starts tearing up. "Like, say, Earth? It's so far, I can't even see it. The... The blue oceans, the white clouds, green grass. . . I. . . I can't see any of it."
"You miss Earth. I understand. I miss Altea." Said Coran placing his hand on Lana's back.
"I know we're supposed to be brave Paladins and Defenders of the Universe or whatever, but, honestly?" Said Lana as she starts crying. "I miss my family so much. . . I just. . . I just want to go home."
Lana starts crying as tears came down from her eyes, Blue goes next to her Paladin and snuggle her head on Lana's leg comforting her Paladin. Coran also understands Lana's sadness.
"I understand your sadness my dear, if I could go home, I would." Said Coran knowing Lana's sadness. "Before the war, King Alfor and I would travel to different galaxies, we could always go home. But now we don't have that option now."
"I'm so sorry that you and Allura lost your home, Coran." Said Lana wiping her tears away. "I can't imagine what I would do if I lost Earth."
"To be honest my dear, neither can I." Said Coran with a sigh. "You might've loved Altea, it sounds similar to Earth."
"You know Coran, once we defeat Zarkon and free the universe, I can show you and Allura Earth." Said Lana smiling at Coran. "Maybe you can make a new home there and help use understand your advance technology and culture."
"I love that, my dear." Said Coran smiling at Lana. "Why don't you tell me about your family, it might help you feel better."
'Yes Lana, I would also love to know your family as well.' Said Blue smiling at Lana.
"Okay, on Earth, my family and I lived in this beautiful farmhouse close to the beach, it was passed down through 3 generations of my mom's side of the family, it's old but it's a great house." Said Lana smiling at Coran and Blue. "There'a my Mamì and Papì, my parents, Carlos and Rosa McClain. I have two older brothers, Luis and Marco McClain, and two older sisters, Veronica and Rachel McClain, Rachel is my older twin sister, five minutes before me."
"My, you certainly have a big family." Said Coran smiling at Lana.
'Indeed, especially since you have so many siblings.' Said Blue smiling at Lana.
"There's also my Tia Cordelia, who's my mami's big sister, and my mami Rosa is the youngest sister." Said Lana smiling about her family.
"Very fascinating, is there any more family members you have?" Asked Coran smiling at Lana.
"Yeah, there's my Abuela Moana, who's my mami and Tia Cordelia's mother." Said Lana smiling at Coran. "I love her so much, in fact, I love my family so much."
"My Lana, you have quite the family." Said Coran amazed by Lana's big family.
"Well, I do have other relatives, but they're back in Cuba, so I don't see them all the time, but we will always visit them on holidays and special occasions, like when I'm with my mom, Tia, and sisters, we will love to do arts and crafts together, go shopping, design clothes and jewelry, we sing and dance together, stargazing, doing chemistry together, and sometimes give makeovers with each other." Said Lana smiling of the special occasion's with her family. "When I'm with my dad and brothers, we will play soccer together since it's our favorite sport and do a bit of archery, play video games together, I go skateboarding with my brothers, and go on boat rides together at the ocean."
'Wow Lana, you certainly have great activities and hobbies with your family.' Said Blue smiling at Lana.
"And when I'm with my Abuela Moana, we go out in her favorite garden and plant many beautiful flowers and herbs, make necklaces and bracelets out of the shells we collect on the beach, and even bake our favorite desserts together." Said Lana smiling. "She will also tell me and my sibling many fascinating stories about space, magical realms, and dragons, she even teach me how to make medical lotions and healing remedies."
"Fascinating Lana, you certainly do many activities with your family." Said Coran smiling at Lana.
"I do, and when we do things together, we will always have family dinners, attend festivals together, celebrate our birthdays with special party themes we create, and go to the beach together." Said Lana smiling about her family. "In fact, the truth is that my whole family is precious to me and they are the ones that always keep me going."
'Wow Lana, you must really love your family.' Said Blue smiling at her Paladin.
"To me, family is important because they can offer support and security coupled with unconditional love." Said Lana petting Blue gently. "They will always look to see and bring out the best in you even if you cannot see it for yourself."
"I'm so amazed how special your family is to you, it reminds me of the many great memories when I had with King Alfor." Said Coran smile sadly. "The many adventures we had, the planets we go, and all the celebrations we do were do the most happy times I had, especially the day when Allura was born, I was always there by his side."
"Were you close with King Alfor?" Asked Lana looking at Coran.
"Very, he was like a brother to me." Said Coran as he shed a single tear.
"I'm awfully sorry Coran, I know how hard it is to lose someone who you were so close to." Said Lana as she look down sadly. "The thing is that, I lost my Tia Cordelia when I was nine years old, she died in a terrible car accident."
"Oh, I'm so sorry, my dear." Said Coran patting Lana's back gently.
"The jacket I'm wearing was actually my Tio Joaquin's, he always have it on when he goes out on adventures in his boat in the ocean." Said Lana looking at Coran. "It hurt cause I know she's not coming back, but I'm sure it's nothing compare to you and Allura, you both lost your whole planet and your people to Zarkon, I can't imagine how much it hurts."
"Grief is a strong and sometimes overwhelming emotion, whether you lose one person or one million." Said Coran looking upset. "Your heart aches and breaks, and the pain still feels the same. But sometimes you can still remember the happiness you had before the grief, and know that no matter what your heart will go on."
"That's deep." Said Lana looking at Coran.
"Sometimes grief can be deep, but when you remember them, they will always be there for you." Said Coran smiling at Lana.
'It's true Lana, once you love someone, they stay in your heart forever.' Said Blue smiling at Lana and she smile back.
"I guess you guys are right, although I miss rain, and splashing in puddles." Said Lana looking at the map.
"Rain?" Asked Coran looking confused.
"Yeah, rain is when water falls from the sky." Said Lana explaining what rain is.
"Oh, we had that on Altea. Only, it wasn't water, more like rocks. Razor-sharp and boiling-hot. Oh, they could knock a hole right in your head." Said Coran explaining the same thing about rain only different.
"Sounds fun." Said Lana smiling Coran.
"Yeah." Said Coran smiling as well.
'I don't think it's fun, it's kinda dangerous if it can knock on a hole on your head.' Said Blue shuddering at the thought. 'But rain, now that I can enjoy, since it has water.'
Meanwhile in the hallways of the castle, the bomb drone, that Haxus have programmed, moves through the Castle, to find the Main Bridge and blow it up. Meanwhile Pidge is speaking with the rest of the team in the halls about leaving, with the Red, Yellow, Black, and Green Lion.
"Pidge, no!" Said Shiro shock that Pidge is leaving.
"The download from the Galra ship was enough to at least get me in the right direction to start my search, I have a pod all ready to go." Said Pidge and Keith approaches to her.
"You can't leave!" Said Keith frowning at Pidge.
"You can't tell me what to do!" Said Pidge frowning at Keith.
"If you leave, we can't form Voltron. And that means we can't defend the universe against Zarkon. You're not the only one with a family. All these Arusians have families. Everyone in the universe has families." Said Keith trying to reason with Pidge.
"Yeah, I have a family." Said Hunk looking at Keith and Pidge. "They live on Earth. I want to be with them. Is that, like, a thing that can happen?"
"You want to leave, too?" Asked Allura looking at Hunk with a shock look.
"Of course I do. Look, Voltron is super-cool, and Yellow here is amazing, don't get me wrong, but I never signed up for a lifetime in space fighting aliens." Said Hunk and Keith got enraged and aggressively got close to Pidge.
"YOU'RE PUTTING THE LIVES OF TWO PEOPLE OVER THE LIVES OF EVERYONE ELSE IN THE ENTIRE GALAXY. . ." Shouted Keith till Shiro grabs him by the arm.
"Keith! That's not how a team works. People have to want to be a part of it. They can't be forced." Said Shiro, Keith silently relents, and Shiro turns to Pidge. "If you want to leave, we won't try to stop you. But, please, just think about what you're doing."
At first Pidge looks conflicted, cause she knows that the Green Lion has chosen her to be her Paladin and had to form Voltron, but she remains firm, as she knows her first priority is to find her family.
"I'm sorry. You're going to have to find someone else to pilot the Green Lion." Said Pidge as she leaves with Rover.
"I can't believe it. This team is falling apart. How will we ever form Voltron?" Asked Allura looking at the team.
'Green, are you just going to let your Paladin leave like that?' Asked Red looking at Green with a frown.
'Yeah, I mean you chose Pidge as your Paladin, without Pidge, we can't form Voltron!' Said Yellow looking worried about the situation.
'I know, I'm not happy about this, but I can't force Pidge to stay.' Said Green looking at Red and Yellow. 'If Pidge needs to go, then I'm going to have let Pidge go.'
'I'm not really sure it's wise for Pidge to leave.' Said Black looking worried.
'What do you mean, Black?' Asked Red looking at Black.
'I feel like something terrible is going to happen.' Said Black looking at the other lions.
Meanwhile back at the Main Bridge, Lana, Coran and the Blue Lion were all leaving to head back to the party, and then the Galra bomb drone enters the Bridge, and heads to the power crystal.
"Hey, Rover." Said Lana but the Galra bomb drone ignores Lana and she stops. "Wait. . . Where's Pidge?"
Lana realizes that Pidge's drone, Rover, always follow her around, then as she looks at the drone, the Galra drone began beeping slow till it goes fast, and Lana gasps as it prepares to explode.
"CORAN, BLUE, LOOK OUT!" Shouted Lana warning her Lion and Coran.
Lana launches herself at Coran and the Blue Lion, pushing them both far enough from the Main Bridge, and the drone explodes, destroying the Power Crystal and the Castle of Lions loses power. The blast is felt throughout the Castle of Lions, as the Paladins, Allura, and the Lions feel the explosion. The Arusians panicked as they all flee to their village in fear. The rest of the team and Lions gathers in the Bridge to find Coran unharmed, along with the Blue Lion.
"What happened?!" Asked Shiro as he help Coran up.
"Ugh... I'm not sure." Said Coran as he recovers and the other lions go to Blue.
'Blue, are you alright?!' Asked Red as he help Blue up.
'Yes, I'm okay.' Said Blue recovering from the explosion.
'What happen?' Asked Black looking at Blue.
'I don't know, I was with Lana and Coran, and the next thing I know, an explosion happened.' Said Blue and her eyes widen as she realized something. 'Wait, where's Lana?!'
As the smoke clears from the Main Bridge, Allura saw that the Power Crystal is destroyed from the explosion, as there were some small crystal shatter around the floor.
"The Crystal!" Said Allura in shock and gasp in horror. "OH NO!"
The Paladins, Coran, and the Lions all saw that lying on the floor was Lana unconscious and injured from the explosion after pushing Coran and the Blue Lion away for safety. Lana's head was even bleeding. Keith watched in horror as he felt his heart stop at the sight of Lana bleeding and unconscious left him in silence.
"LANA!" Shouted Hunk in horror and runs to him.
Hunk's scream snap Keith out of his trance as he runs to Lana and gently lifts him in his arms, Lana groan a bit, meaning that she's alive but still a bit weak.
"Lana. . . Lana!" Said Keith trying to wake Lana up. "She's not waking up!"
"We have to get Lana to the infirmary!" Said Pidge looking worried for Lana.
"We can't." Said Coran looking concerned.
"What do you mean you can't?!" Asked Keith looking at Coran with a concerned look. "Lana needs medical attention now!"
"Without the Crystal, the Castle has no power." Said Allura looking worried about the situation. "So the healing pods won't work!"
The Blue Lion goes to her unconscious Paladin and tries to wake him up by nudging his head gently, but however it didn't wake Lana up, and Blue is worried for her Paladin's life. Then Shiro goes to Lana and check on him.
"She doesn't look good." Said Shiro looking concerned and the Arusian King enters.
"Lion warriors, our village is under attack!" Said the Arusian King in a panicked state. "We need help!"
"Let's take our Lions!" Said Keith looking at Red.
"You can't." Said Allura looking at Keith.
"What do you mean we can't, we need to help the Arusian Village, and our lions are here with us." Said Keith frowning at Allura.
"They're mechanical bodies are sealed in their hangars. There's no way to get them out. We're defenseless." Said Allura looking concerned. "And if you take your lions with you without their mechanical bodies, it will put them in dire situation if they can't get them out of the hangers."
"Will you not help us?" Asked the Arusian King.
"We'll help you. We just. . ." Said Keith till Lana groans in pain.
"This is bad." Said Hunk looking worried for his best friend. "What are we going to do?"
"We have to get a new Crystal to get the Castle working again. But, to get a new Crystal, we need a ship." Said Coran looking at the Paladins and Pidge's eyes widen.
"The pod I was loading, we can use that, I left the bay door open." Said Pidge smiling at Coran.
"I can use the scanner in the pod to see if there's a Balmera nearby. Hunk, you come with me. I'll need someone big to help me carry the Crystal." Said Coran looking at Hunk.
"A Balmera?" Asked Hunk looking confused.
"It's where the Crystals come from, I'll tell you about it on the way!" Said Coran as he starts to leave.
At first, Hunk didn't want to leave his best friend because he wants to make sure she'll be okay, but he also knew that they need a power crystal to power up the castle, so as he told his Lion to stay behind, Hunk, Pidge, and Coran all leave for the flight pod.
"I'll go see what's happening at the Arusian village, I brought this on the poor Arusians." Said Allura as she's about to leave.
"Keith, you go with Allura to check on the village, I'll tend to Lance and stand watch over the Castle." Said Shiro looking at Keith.
At first, Keith didn't want to leave Lana because of the feeling in his heart that he wants to protect him, but he knew as a Paladin of Voltron, he needs to protect the Arusians from the Galra. So Keith gently gives Lana to Shiro, and after telling his Lion to stay put to guard the castle, Allura and Keith leave with the Arusian King.
Meanwhile in the Flight Pod Hangar, Coran and Hunk are in the flight pod, that Pidge was going to leave in to find her family.
"It's our first bit of luck. There's a source not too far. We won't need a Wormhole to get there, thankfully." Said Coran looking at the scanner.
"I made some modifications to the shuttle." Said Pidge showing Coran and Hunk the modifications. "The first change is a cloaking device that I reverse-engineered from the invisible walls on the Training Deck. The second is a tank of booster fuel that I mounted on the fuel line."
"Using that during flight would turn the whole pod into a bomb!" Said Coran and Hunk looks terrified.
"Okay. Maybe you shouldn't use that modification after all." Said Pidge smiling sheepishly.
"We ready to hit it?" Said Hunk looking at Coran.
"Right. Let's go." Said Coran looking determined.
So Coran began to prepare the flight pod to take off. Pidge gives Hunk and Coran a thumbs-up, as they gave them good luck, and Hunk gives Pidge a thumbs-up, back, and the flight pod starts to leave the Castle and fly to a Balmera.
Meanwhile inside the Castle of Lions, Shiro is carrying Lana princess-style to the Castle's entrance, Lana is still unconscious, and the Blue and Black Lion follow them close, Blue was still worried for her Paladin, while Black tried to comfort her assuring that Lana will be okay.
"Hang on, Lana. Help is on the way." Said Shiro and be sees Sendak approaching with some of the sentry droids. "Sendak!"
The Blue and Black Lion both growled at the sight of Sendak, as they stand their grounds, then Shiro lays Lana down gently, and meets Sendak in front of the Castle, with the Black Lion standing against him, while the Blue Lion stays with Lance.
"Stand aside." Said Sendak glaring at Shiro.
"No! You're not getting in." Said Shiro as he activates his prosthetic arm and prepares to fight.
"Yes, I am." Said Sendak activating his prosthetic arm as well.
Then Shiro furiously charge at Sendak and began battling him. Shiro and Sendak both throw a punch and end up locked at the knuckle to each other, and Sendak smirk evilly at Shiro.
"I see you spent some time with the Druids. They do love to experiment. Too bad you didn't get the latest model." Said Sendak evilly at Shiro.
Then Sendak launches his gauntlet to send Shiro back inside the Castle. So Shiro got back up and continue to fight Sendak, then the Black Lion launches himself at Sendak from the back, and as Sendak tried to shake the Black Lion off him, as Sendak throw the Black Lion off him, Shiro charge at him, they both end up in poised with each other's glowing hand against their throats.
"Let him go or your friend won't make it!" Said Haxus glaring at Shiro.
Shiro and the Black Lion both turn to sees Lana, who is still unconscious, has been captured by Haxus and points his gun at Lana, while two sentries chained the Blue Lion up and muzzled her mouth closed. Suddenly Sendak strikes Shiro, knocking him out unconscious, while the other sentries strike the Black Lion and chained him up.
"Voltron is ours." Said Sendak evilly.
Suddenly the Red and Yellow Lion appeared and charge to Sendak to attack, but Haxus shock them both, knocking them unconscious and began chaining them and muzzled them. However Pidge is still in the Castle and witnessed the fight.
"Oh, no." Said Pidge and leaves elsewhere in the Castle to try to slow them down.
Meanwhile outside of the Castle of Lions, Keith, Allura, and the Arusian King have arrive at the burning Arusian village.
"What's happening?" Asked Allura in a worried voice.
"Look! Attackers!" Said the Arusian King pointing to Galra Sentries standing among the flames and explosions.
"I'll go in for a closer look." Said Keith looking at Allura. "Stay here with them."
"Keith!" Said Allura trying to stop Keith
But Keith dives into the fray, as he arrived at the burning village, and approaches the Sentries and activates his Bayard. But when he approach to them, he sees they are broken and realize that it was a decoy.
"What? Oh, no. They tricked us!" Said Keith speaking to Allura through her communication earrings. "It was just a diversion to separate us and thin the Castle defenses!"
As soon as Keith told Allura, she look really shock and turns towards the Castle of Lions, and realizes what the Galra were doing: they were using the sentries to lure them out of the castle so they can take it, along with the Lions.
Meanwhile inside the Main Bridge of the Castle of Lions, the Galra hook up their own Power Crystal, which is similar to the Power Crystal from before but it's Galra violet, to the Castle.
"Power up the Castle." Said Sendak informing Haxus.
Then the Castle of Lions began to power up in Galra violet. Then as they activate the computer screen, it shows all of the Voltron Lions are in place in their hangars. And all the lions are chained up and muzzled.
"The Lions are all in their bays. Raising particle barrier. Begin launch sequence." Said Sendak informing Haxus.
Meanwhile outside of the Castle of Lions, Allura and Keith both run as fast as they can to reach the castle, but Haxus starts activating the particle barrier, which is a Galra violet color, and it prevented Keith and Allura from entering in time, and Keith slams his fist on the barrier.
"We're too late. . . No!" Said Keith slamming the barrier in frustration.
"They have control of the Castle." Said Allura in a panic voice. "They're taking Voltron!"
"They're also taking Shiro and Lana!" Said Keith worrying for Shiro and Lana.
"Make contact with Emperor Zarkon." Said Sendak as Haxus brings up Zarkon on screen.
"Sendak." Said Zarkon from the computer screen.
"Lord Zarkon, my mission is complete, I've captured the Altean castle, along with all of the Voltron Lions." Said Sendak informing Zarkon. "I am currently preparing for launch and will be delivering them all to you shortly."
"This news is most pleasing." Said Zarkon evilly.
"And to add a bonus, I have also captured the former champion and one of the Paladins of Voltron." Said Sendak showing Shiro and Lana cuffed up and unconscious.
"Well done Sendak, you have done your duty. Vrepit Sa!" Said Zarkon in a evil tone.
"Vrepit Sa!" Said Sendak and the transmission ends. "Haxus, ready the Castle for takeoff."
"Yes, Commander." Said Haxus as he prepares the Castle.
Meanwhile outside of the Castle of Lions, Keith summons his Bayard and form it in his sword, and he tried to break the Particle Barrier, but it was no use.
"Can we break through the barrier?" Said Keith looking at Allura.
"No. And whoever has taken the Castle has a Crystal, which means they'll be able to fly the ship. We have to stop them." Said Allura looking concern.
"How are we going to do that?" Said Keith looking frustrated.
"Keith, can you hear me?" Said Pidge contacting Keith through his helmet.
"Pidge! Is that you? Where are you?" Said Keith contacting Pidge through his helmet.
"I'm inside the Castle. Sendak has taken over and he's preparing for launch. He's got Lana and Shiro." Said Pidge and Keith began to growl in anger about Sendak.
"Pidge, listen. If they've started the launch sequence, then we don't have much time before liftoff to stop it." Said Allura contacting Pidge with her communication earrings.
"What do I have to do?" Asked Pidge.
"You have to get down to the main engine control panel and disconnect the primary turbine from the Central Energy Chamber. If you can do that, Sendak will have to reset the whole system. That might give us enough time to find a way to stop them." Said Allura explaining Pidge.
So Pidge pulls up a map of the Castleship from her Paladin armor and begins to head off to do as instructed, before the Castle of Lions take off to Zarkon's Command Center.
Meanwhile somewhere not to far from the planet Arus, Coran and Hunk have arrive at the Balmera, to get the Power Castle for the Castle of Lions.
"Is this the Balmera planet with the crystals?" Asked Hunk looking at Coran.
"It's not a planet. Balmera are ancient animals. Petrified, but still alive. Their bodies naturally create the crystals that help power many Altean ships." Said Coran showing Hunk the image of the Balmera as a sparkling image. "I often accompanied my grandfather to visit these majestic creatures when he was building the Castle of Lions. I'll never forget the first time I saw the sparkling surface of a Balmera. You're in for quite a treat."
However, as soon as Coran and Hunk have arrived at the Balmera's atmosphere, the Balmera looks nothing like the sparkling image Coran brings up on screen, and Coran look shock and horrified at the sight of the Balmera.
"Oh, no. . . This is horrifying. The Galra have turned this into a mining colony! Oh, they're completely destroying it! They have no regard for the poor creature!" Said Coran and suddenly a patrolling Galra fighter jet detects them and tails them.
"Uh-oh. We've been spotted." Said Hunk panicking.
"Hailing unidentified craft. State your ship ID, entry code, and landing destination." Said the Fighter Jet.
"Oh no, now what do we do?" Said Hunk looking at Coran with a panic look.
"Just stay calm." Said Coran as he radio the fighter jet. "We don't really need to land. Uh, we're just looking around, if that's okay."
"Unidentified craft, land immediately and prepare to be boarded." Said the Fighter Jet repeating what it says before.
"Okay. Uh, thank you. See you down below." Said Coran to the Fighter Jet.
Then as Coran ends the transmission, he instantly takes off in reverse, pulling some crazy piloting to escape that makes Hunk scream. The fighter jet start firing lasers at them.
"Not done yet. Hang on!" Said Coran looking back.
Then Coran sends the flight pod diving into a mining hole at full speed. Hunk continues to scream. The hole continues as Hunk screams. He finally calms as nothing happens.
"How deep is this thing?" Asked Hunk till he saw a Galra structure appears in their path. "Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no!"
The flight pod speeds too fast to avoid the structure and collides, spinning into a crash landing at the bottom of the hole. The flight pod opens and Hunk looks around and sees two pairs of glowing eyes staring at them.
"Coran, what lives at the bottom of these mines?" Asked Hunk looking scared.
Meanwhile on Arus, inside the Castle of Lions, Pidge is making her way to the engine room as her forces entry into an elevator shaft with the drone Rover.
"Hey, Rover." Said Pidge and Rover follows her inside the shaft and hovers in place. "Okay, Rover, here we go."
So Rover follows Pidge down the shaft to the bottom. Meanwhile at the Main Bridge, Sendak and Haxus are both getting the castle ready for takeoff.
"Run main cluster activation sequence." Said Sendak ordering Haxus.
"Activation sequence initiated. Powering up for launch." Said Haxus activating the engines.
Meanwhile, Pidge have reach the Central Energy Chamber where the engine is, with River hovering beside her.
"Okay, Allura, I'm near the turbine, I think it's started." Said Pidge informing Allura.
"Then you'll have to hurry. Cross the catwalk to the main column in the center." Said Allura communicating Pidge.
"Okay." Said Pidge as she does as she instructed.
"Now, open the hatch. Find the central computer control hub and enter the following sequence. . ." Said Allura till there was a problem.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait! Which one is it? All the labels are in Altean!" Said Pidge as she realized she doesn't understand Altean.
"Commander Sendak, we are ready for launch." Said Haxus informing Sendak.
Then Haxus began to start the launch and the energy swells inside the the chamber, disrupting the communication channel between Allura and Pidge.
"I can't tell which one it is! Allura? Allura?" Said Pidge realizing that her communication with Allura has been cut off.
Meanwhile outside of the Castle of Lions, Allura and Keith have both witness the impending launch of the Castle.
"I've lost connection with Pidge!" Said Allura in a panic voice. "Oh, no! It's taking off!"
Meanwhile Pidge panics to find a solution. Knowing she doesn't have time, Pidge slams her Green Bayard into the engine turbine, being thrown back, but successfully interrupting the launch.
"The main engine just shorted out!" Said Haxus informing Sendak.
Sendak got furious as he pulls up a feed of the Central Energy Chamber and he sees Pidge fleeing with Rover.
"We have a saboteur. Find him and take him out." Said Sendak glaring at the screen.
