The five Paladins are all floating over a part of the Castle of Lions, as Coran told them that the castle needed some repairs, after the battle with the robeast.
"Let's hurry up with these repairs. Zarkon could be here at any moment." Said Shiro informing the others.
So Hunk began to pull up the handle and pulled up a small cylindrical tube which glowed blue, like the rest of the mechanics that powered the ship.
"Okay, panel's off. Now, what?" Asked Hunk feeling a bit confused.
"Very simple. Just loosen the blaxums on the somoflange." Said Coran explaining but the others were confused on what Coran meant.
"Could you be more specific?" Asked Hunk clearly not understanding.
"Sorry, Hunk, he means the poklones on the agroclams." Said Allura but it didn't really help the others.
"No, that doesn't help." Said Hunk still confused.
"Easy, Hunk. I got this." Said Lana gently shoving Hunk as she push random buttons until it started blaring an alarm and turned red. "Uh-oh. That can't be good."
"No, not the smalters, the poklones!" Shouted Allura through the com links.
"No, no! It's the blaxums!" Said Coran correcting Allura.
"What are you talking about?" Asked Keith clearly getting frustrated.
So Pidge moved over and takes a good look at it before pressing a series of buttons and turn the knob on top, and couple of ticks later, the alarm stopped, it turned blue again, and it slid perfectly back into the ship.
"There. Fixed." Said Pidge smiling proudly.
"Well done, Pidge!" Said Allura through the com links impressed with Pidge.
"The tech on this ship never ceases to amaze me. It's so mathematically elegant. Its fit is a 100 times more frictionless than any exoskeleton we have on Earth. It's beautiful." Said Pidge feeling so amazed by the technology.
"It's not a sunset, Pidge." Said Lana smiling a bit at Pidge.
"You're right. A billion sunsets just happen every day. Some genius engineer actually built this." Said Pidge still impressed.
"Kinda looks like a big, delicious curly fry." Said Hunk looking at tube and thinking about food.
Suddenly Hunk got hit what looked like a glowing blue-green snowball squished on his helmet, and suddenly a slow-moving wave of the spores began appearing, while some of which were already drifting by them, then Shiro activated his shield along with the others.
"All right, we're prepared for this. Remember your rogue projectile cluster training from the Garrison. First, we need a temporary shelter." Said Shiro and he suddenly got hit in the back of the head by one of the spores, turning to see Lana was the one who throw the spire.
"Oh, sorry, Shiro. I was trying to hit Keith." Said Lana smiling sheepishly till Keith threw one at Lana's head hitting its mark and Lana growled in frustration.
"Like that?" Said Keith smirking at Lana.
"Yes! Squishy asteroid fight!" Shouted Hunk grabbing armful.
Then Hunk and Lana began to throw the spores at Keith and Shiro, as they four of them are laughing while throwing the spores back at each other. However, Pidge was the only one not throwing any spores as she picked up one, realizing that it was flashing in a gentle pattern.
"I don't think these are asteroids. Coran, I'm going to need a containment unit." Said Pidge communicating with Coran.
"Just a tick." Said Coran through the castle com links.
"They appear to be some sort of hyper-resilient spore." Said Allura looking over the spore in the castles console.
"This bio-luminescent pulsing doesn't seem natural. It appears programmed." Said Pidge looking over the spore. "I think it's a code."
"A code? From who?" Asked Hunk till Keith throw a spore at him.
"I don't know. I mean, it makes no sense. You can't program a spore." Said Pidge as she place the spore inside the containment unit Coran sent out.
"If anyone can figure it out, it's you, Pidge." Said Shiro smiling at Pidge till he got hit with a spore.
"Before that, everyone needs to come in for decontamination." Said Allura from the castles com links.
So the Paladins arrived at the castle and enter the room to decontaminate the spores that are all over them.
First the Paladins were surrounded by hot steam showers from all directions, then blasted with foamy bubbles and thick streams of water that filled the entire containment area. When it drained, warm air blew at them and drying their armor. Shiro taken off his helmet to feel the breeze, however the air was strong enough to knock Pidge back a few feet. After they were cleared to go, the Paladins separated to to do their own activities.
Meanwhile at Keith's room, Keith was sitting on his bed while his Lion is laying beside him taking a nap. Keith was looking at his knife and kept on thinking if his mother is actually a Blade of Marmora. Suddenly he heard a beep sound from his door, and he hide his knife under his pillow, as Coran enter the room.
"Keith, did you and your Lion happen to see a mouse come through here? He has something of mine." Said Coran looking around.
"Uh no." Said Keith nervously hoping Coran didn't notice his knife.
"I'll find you, Platt." Said Coran as he walks away.
'Whatever the mice have taken from Coran, I really hope is a kitchen utensil, cause I'll be grateful that Coran won't make that awful Paladin lunch, I don't my nose can handle the smell.' Said Red shuttering in disgust.
"Wait, Coran!" Said Keith as he follows Coran with Red following as well. "Do you think the Galra ever went to Earth? Is that possible? They would have taken it over, right?"
"Oh, I think you'd know if the Galra were there." Said Coran looking at Keith.
"The Blue Lion was there. Did a Galra pilot the Blue Lion, too?" Asked Keith getting really curious.
Suddenly, the door closest to them opened, revealing Lana, as she has a white facemask on, her hair is wrap in a towel, and she's wearing her bathrobe.
"Hey, why are you asking about my lion? How many lions do you need?" Asked Lana frowning at Keith.
"What? No, I was just. . ." Said Keith stuttering a bit.
Apparently Keith was having a really hard time thinking straight, because it was clear that Lana just came out of the bath, and Keith started to see a bit of Lana's chest and somehow small cute breasts, and he was almost this close into blushing.
"Don't "What? No, I. . . I was just " me! You've had your eye on the Blue Lion from day one!" Said Lana poking Keith's chest.
"Well, yeah. It's the first one we found. . . I mean. . . Well, what I'm trying to say. . . Is that. . ." Said Keith as he kept on stammering.
Apparently Keith couldn't be able to talk straight or look at Lana, as his main focus was at Lana's almost revealing breasts, and he can barely hold his breath. Lana soon realized that Keith is looking at her chest, she rolled her eyes as she grabbed Keith's chin and made him look up at her.
"Keith Kogane, my eyes are up here, stop looking at my breasts." Said Lana looking at Keith.
However Keith blush deeply red as he can feel Lana's soft hands on his chin. Coran somehow smirk at the sight of it, while the Blue and Red Lion look at their Paladins.
'Geez, you think they could just kiss right now.' Said Blue rolling her eyes.
'Or better yet, they could just jump on the bed and have sex with each other.' Said Red looking at Blue.
"We can hear your thoughts!" Said Keith and Lana in unison frowning at their Lions.
'What, you two are the ones who started it!' Said Red and Blue in unison startled by their Paladins.
"Guys! Check this out!" Said Pidge through the com links.
Lana let's go of Keith's chin and takes of the towel off her head, and her hair fall smoothly on her shoulder, and she wipes off the face mask on her face, then as she and Blue enter back inside his room, the door began to closed but Keith somehow got a glimpse of Lana taking off her robe and got a small glimpse of Lana's exposed chest, as the door completely closed before Keith almost saw Lana completely naked, and Keith's face began to go completely red.
"You know, my boy, you should really tell Lana how you feel." Said Coran smiling at Keith.
"WHAT. . . I don't know what you're talking about Coran, let's go meet the others!" Said Keith blushing fiercely as he and Red go meet Pidge at the Green Lion's hanger.
After a few minutes later, they all arrived at the Green Lion's hanger, as Hunk looks at the spore.
"Oh, oh! I've seen this experiment. But, question: Why do we need to get electricity from a potato?" Asked Hunk looking a bit confused.
"What? No, no. I was able to crack the "sporse code." I ran the bioluminescent pattern through a variety of code-breaking sequences, including this homemade virtual Turing machine, with Rover's help." Said Pidge as she explains. "Of course, I had to make a few tweaks to the original design, because, obviously, there have been several advancements since he designed it. Although, you have to admit, Turing was a shining light in the world of science in an age when far too many were still."
"Pidge. What does it say?" Said Keith getting Pidge back on track.
"Oh, yeah. "Under attack. Galra. Help." And then, there are coordinates." Said Pidge explaining to the others.
"It's a distress signal. Good work, Pidge. Get those coordinates into the castle-ship's navigation system." Said Shiro instructing the others.
As soon as Pidge send the coordinates to Coran and Allura, the Paladin's changed into their armor as they meet up with the two Alteans in the Main Bridge.
"The signal came from Olkarion, home to the Olkari, a proud class of engineers, builders of vast cities that could change shape at the whim of their creators." Said Coran showing the images of Olkarion.
"They had a seemingly magical ability to manipulate solid metal. With just a wave of their hands, they could build a computer inside a block of steel." Said Allura explaining more about Olkarion.
'They're right, the Olkari are also known to have many scientific knowledge within each planet, and create so many advance technologies.' Said Green explaining more about the Olkari.
"Whoa." Said Pidge in amazement.
"An Olkari once gave me this!" Said Coran as he pulled out a sleek black cube with a green line through it and it floated.
"What is it?" Asked Lana looking at the cube.
"Uh, hello? It's a floating cube!" Said Coran as he laughs. "Oh, this guy. And watch! My name is Coran and I'm a gorgeous man."
"My name is Coran and I'm a gorgeous man." Said the cube repeating in Coran's voice.
Pidge was so amazed at how at how the Olkari make advanced technology as she look at the cube in amazement, while Rover starts beeping, like he's jealous.
'Uh oh Pidge, seems like someone is jealous.' Said Green with a sly smile.
"Oh don't worry Rover, you're still my favorite." Said Pidge smiling at her drone and Rover beep's happily.
"Why would a society full of literal tech wizards use spores to send a distress signal?" Asked Keith looking confused.
"Who cares? When do we get to see that city?" Asked Pidge in excitement.
"Actually, Pidge, the distress signal isn't coming from- the city. It's coming from the forest." Said Allura showing the hologram of the forest and Pidge groaned.
So the Castle of Lion's remained in the orbit of Olkarion while the Lions began their descent into the forest, to where the signal is coming from.
"Why doesn't anyone ever send a distress signal from a cool place? I hate the outdoors. Nothing but sunburn and poison oak." Said Pidge frowning a bit.
'You know, Pidge, I am known as the Guardian of Forest, and you should learn to embrace forest.' Said Green to her Paladin.
"Oh right, sorry Green, it's just that I'm not really an outdoor person." Said Pidge pointing out her view.
"I like it out here. It's quiet." Said Keith smiling a bit.
'Yeah, I sometime like the quiet as well.' Said Red smiling a bit as well.
However as soon as Keith said that, suddenly a wave of arrows appeared from the trees and are flying up to the sky, suddenly the arrows hit the Lions. The arrows didn't pierce the Lions, but they send out pulses that began to shut the Lions down, pulling them down to the surface of the planet.
"What was that?" Asked Hunk in shock.
"Uh, are we being attacked?" Asked Keith bring suspicious.
"I don't know, but something's dragging my lion down to the surface." Said Shiro feeling his Lion in a trance.
"Yeah, something's pulling Blue down, too." Said Lana feeling her Lion in a trance as well.
As the Lions broke through the trees, the Paladins saw a group of people with olive-green skin and cloaks standing on the forest floor, holding weapons made out of the trees but looking surprisingly high-tech, and the Lions land on the ground.
"Are those wooden mech-suits?" Asked Hunk in shock.
"Are you kidding me? We got taken down by a bunch of tree people!" Said Lana feeling like they were bested.
"We come in peace!" Said Shiro through the Black Lion's com link as an elder Olkaria came in front of the group and reminded her good, and she is known as Ryner, the leader of the Olkari.
"Could it be? Voltron?" Said Ryner in shock as Pidge climb up from her Lion's mechanical head and lift up the spore they brought.
"We found your distress signal!" Said Pidge as she shows the spore.
"Praise Lubos!" Said Ryner smiling at the sight of Voltron.
"Lubos! Lubos!" Shouted the Olkari cheering.
After the Paladins introduced themselves to Ryner and the Olkari, along with the Lions, Ryner led them through the forest, taking them up a natural stairway of grown vines and branches that wrapped around a massive tree.
"When the Galra attacked, only a few of us escaped the cities. We were forced to flee into the forest." Said Ryner explaining to the Paladins.
"How long have you lived like this?" Asked Shiro looking at Ryner.
"Many decafeebs. But, as you can see, our people are resilient. We never stopped evolving. Instead, we adapted our skills to the environment." Said Ryner smiling proudly.
By that point, they had reached a massive balcony outside of a large structure in one of the trees. The Paladin's and the Lions can see how the Olkari have created a civilization and Pidge was amazed, as they went down to the ground, they all watched in awe as an Olkari gently crafted a dragonfly drone out of sticks, effectively giving it artificial intelligence and it flew around gracefully.
"Coran was right, Ryner. You really are the most incredible engineers in the universe. To be able to switch from working with precision machinery to a bunch of sticks!" Said Pidge in amazement.
'Well, the Olkari are known to be amazing engineers.' Said Green smiling at the sight.
"Nature's designs are superior to any that we could devise." Said Ryner smiling at their accomplishments.
"No offense, but I'll take my computer over a tree any day." Said Pidge smirking a bit.
"You two can talk science later. Let's assemble Voltron and get rid of these Galra invaders." Said Shiro looking at the others.
"It's not that simple, I'm afraid. The Galra have our leader, Lubos." Said Ryner with a sad frown and the Olkari repeat Lubos's name in sadness as well. "If you attack, who knows what they'll do to him?"
"Then, we'll just have to rescue him." Said Shiro and Ryner knew that the Paladins will help.
So Ryner takes the Paladin's and the Lion's back down to the forest floor, through a different kind of city, that are made out of entire trees three times the size of redwoods and med centres and mess halls growing out of them with the same glowing green lights as the metallic city.
"Um Ryner, where are we?" Asked Keith as he and the Paladin's look around.
"This is the armory." Said Ryner smiling proudly.
Then one of the Olkari start to place their hands on some big dark magenta flower buds, and transform them into guns, that shoot out green beams, and the Paladins were so amazed. Then one Olkari place it's hand on the tree, and after a moment, green energy went up to the tree and a large fruit fell from or and sprouted legs standing up to be a sleeker, bigger version of the other mech suits.
"Cool!" Said Lana in amazement.
'Yeah, I guess they're cool.' Said Blue smiling at the technology.
"Uh, can I get one of those?" Asked Keith in shock.
"Of course. You can each have one." Said Ryner as she gives the Paladins each a brown wooden circlet that has a green glow at the center. "Now, the key to operating it is understanding that the nanocellulose responds to electrical impulses from the neural pathways connected through this."
"Do what now?" Asked Lana in confusion as Hunk licks his crown.
"Mm. Mm! Makes my tongue itchy." Said Hunk smiling at the others.
'Uh Hunk, I don't you're supposed to taste that.' Said Yellow looking at his Paladin.
"That's your interface?" Asked Pidge looking at Ryner.
"Of course, all commands need to come as binary coded messages." Said Ryner explaining further.
'She's saying that you can tell the plants what do with your minds and the crowns help connect them.' Said Green explaining clearly.
"So, like this." Said Pidge as she did the same thing the Olkari did and she was able to get a mech suit.
"Yes! Excellent!" Said Ryner fascinated with Pidge.
"I think mine is just a tree." Said Lana as she and the others couldn't do it.
"You must have a deep connection with nature." Said Ryner smiling at Pidge.
"Not really. My allergies and pale skin don't mix with outdoor living." Said Pidge smiling bashfully at Ryner.
"Pidge is our resident tech expert." Said Shiro smiling proudly at Pidge.
"Well, that explains it. Like the Olkari, you understand that, at the deepest level, trees, metal, you, me were all made up of the same cosmic dust, all arranged by the laws of mathematics." Said Ryner explaining to Pidge.
"Does this mean I should start gardening?" Asked Pidge frowning a bit.
"It means you're going to need to give your friends a ride." Said Ryner as she and Pidge loaded the other Paladins in their mech suits and start driving while the Lion's follow them. "This way! To the edge of the forest! To save our king!"
After a few minutes of driving through the forest, the Paladin's, Ryner, and the Lion's have arrived at the edge of a cliff, where it shows a view of the city, that it's heavily guarded by Galra Sentries.
"Their headquarters are impenetrable from the ground, but there is one way in, a small opening in the roof. It goes all the way down to an open courtyard." Said Ryner showing the hologram of the tower.
"That's quite a drop." Said Keith looking at the tower.
"But there you will have total access to the building. The hard part will be getting onto the roof undetected." Said Ryner explaining to the Paladins.
"That won't be a problem." Said Shiro looking determined.
"Hey, hey, what's that? Is that part of the building?" Asked Hunk as they all turn to see what he's looking at.
There at the center of the city, was a black cube that is exactly like the cube Coran show them, only it was so big like a building.
"My Lubos! It can't be!" Said Ryner in shock.
"Hey! That looks like the cube Coran gave me!" Said Pidge showing them the cube Coran gave her.
"I haven't seen one of those in many decafeebs. We used to play with them as children. But this. Only King Lubos could have designed one that size." Said Ryner looking at the gigantic cube.
"Why would he do that?" Asked Keith looking at Ryner.
"They must have forced him to reveal his designs and reconstruct it as a weapon. From the looks of it, I'd say it's almost finished." Said Ryner suggesting what might've happened.
"Okay, we need to act fast. Everyone, back to base. I have a plan. First, we'll need to get to the top of that tower. Since the Green Lion has stealth capabilities, Pidge, you're the drop ship." Said Shiro explaining the plan. "You'll take Keith, Hunk, Lance, and me to the roof, then drop back to a safe position. After the drop, we'll use a sensor to scan the building for any Olkari biorhythms."
After carefully going over the plan, the Paladins quickly get into the Green Lion, and as they were flying to the city, Green was able to camouflage as she arrived at the tower, the four Paladins dropped through an atrium skylight and gently towards the small opening to the tower, and they use their jetpacks to land carefully to the ground.
Shiro had brought a BLIPtech source, as he place it on the ground, it started to mapped the building as well as searched for Olkari biorhythms. Pidge uploaded the map to each of their suits, and Shiro led them through the rooms. They were careful to make sure the Sentries won't spot them. They reached a large set of doors, and from the other side, they could hear a man moaning and crying. So the Paladin's ready their weapons and enter the room to save King alibis, however once they were inside, they were completely shock at the scene with their very own eyes.
The Paladins had been expecting a gruesome torture scene, but instead, they found a lush bedroom filled with spare bits of tech, comfortable chairs, and a large holoscreen playing a very dramatic tv show where a female Olkari is kissing an dinosaur like alien.
In front of the screen sitting on a chair was a short and very fat Olkari man who wore a gold and green crown and royal attire. And he was none other than King Lubos, and next to him was male Olkari dressed in Galra rags with chains on his wrist.
"Betrayal! She loves you!" Said King Lubos crying at the scene.
"King Lubos?" Said Shiro as he and the Paladins walk up.
"Yes? Who are you? The jesters I requested?" Asked King Lubos while the Paladin's were shocked at his question.
"Um, we're here to, like, rescue you?" Said Lana looking at King Lubos.
The Olkari slave was happy to see them, however King Lubos didn't seem like he wanted to be rescued as he pressed a button and the lights came on as well as an alarm, and soon Galra sentries rushed the room with their weapons ready at them.
"You could have just said, "No, thanks."" Said Hunk as a Galra Commander enter the room.
"Looks like someone came to rescue you, Lubos." Said the Galra Commander with a smirk and the Paladins all turn to King Lubos with frowns on their faces.
"You turned your back on your people to save your own skin?" Said Shiro frowning at King Lubos.
"I'm doing this for my people! They wanted to fight the Galra, but they are too powerful! The Galra could destroy us!" Said King Lubos defending himself.
"So, you helped enslave your people to build some super weapon?" Said Lana frowning at King Lubos.
"Don't make me the bad guy! He forced me to do it!" Said King Lubos pointing at the Galra Commander.
"Did he force-feed you, too?" Said Lana glaring at King Lubos, making Lubos stand there doing nothing.
"You're no king." Said Keith glaring at King Lubos and goes to him.
Lubos panicked and was about to move towards the Galra Sentries, till his servant throws him towards Keith, having him being taken forcefully as a hostage.
"Okay, we're walking out of here! Anyone tries to stop us and Lubos gets it!" Said Keith glaring at the Galra Commander.
"Whoa, Keith!" Shouted Shiro in shock.
"That came out of nowhere!" Said Lana in shock as well.
"La-sai, what are you doing?" Asked King Lubos looking at the Olkari slave.
"You betrayed our people. I can't live this lie anymore." Said La-sai glaring at his former king.
"You don't want me to hurt your genius engineer, right?" Asked Keith glaring at the Galra Commander.
"Oh, be my guest. His work is done. The cube is complete." Said the Galra Commander smirking evilly.
"What? But. . . But I thought we had a deal!" Said King Lubos shock that the Galra Commander broke their deal.
"Guards, put them all out of their misery." Shouted the Galra Commander ordering the Sentries.
So as the Sentries were about to shoot at the Paladins, suddenly the Green Lion smashed through the wall filling the air with dust.
"Your ride is here!" Said Pidge through the Green Lion's com links.
"Engage the cube! Take down the lion!" Shouted the Galra Commander commanding the sentries.
So the Sentries began to shoot at the Paladins, but they were able to activate their shields and block the shots, as they lead King Lubos and La-sai to the Green Lion, as they land on the Green Lion's head, Shiro saw that the cube began to operate.
"The cube is operational! We've got to get back to the other lions and form Voltron!" Said Shiro informing Pidge.
"On it!" Said Pidge as she drove Green back to the forest.
As soon as the Paladin's arrived at the forest, King Lubos was throw to the ground and everyone was shock and were wondering what was going on during their mission, and the Lion's all gather around King Lubos and they all growl in anger.
"What's going on?" Asked Ryner looking at the Paladins.
"While your countrymen starved, King Lubos was well taken care of by the Galra. He willingly helped them build that cube, willingly helped to enslave his own people." Said Shiro and the Olkari were shock and depressed how their King betrayed them. "I know you're devastated, but it's time to be strong and use your Olkari spirit to fight alongside Voltron and take back your planet!"
"Lubos, how could you?" Asked Ryner glaring at her former king.
"I. . . I was only trying to. . ." Said King Lubos trying to defend himself.
"Enough! We must free our people!" Shouted Ryner as the Olkari cheered.
So the Paladins have went inside their Lions's and formed Voltron. Then they started to fly to where the cube is and saw that it has violet veins and began to float off the ground approaching to them.
"All right, team, let's take that thing down!" Said Shiro as they fly towards the cube began to fire at them. "Form shield!"
Then Voltron quickly summon their shield, blocking each shot the cube send out, and starts leading it away from the forest and to a large clear valley.
"Let's see how tough this magic cube is." Said Keith looking determined.
So Keith began firing at the cube with his Lion, hoping it would affect the cube. But somehow it didn't look like the lasers did anything, instead the cube absorbed the laser and shoots the lasers back.
"Did it just absorb our lasers?" Asked Pidge in shock.
'It seem like it did!' Said Green in shock as well.
"We need to increase firepower! Hunk, use your blaster!" Shouted Shiro informing Hunk.
"I'm not sure this is a good idea." Said Pidge warning the others.
"Got it!" Said Hunk completely ignoring Pidge as he summoned the cannon and blasted the cube with a massive laser. "Yeah, I think it's working!"
However the blast didn't seem to do anything to the cube, as it absorbed it and blasted back to Voltron, so the Paladin's raised their shield to protect themselves, but they were pushed back by the force of it.
"It's giving back whatever we fire into it, like Coran's echo cube." Said Shiro realizing the situation.
"That's what I was trying to tell you guys! It's learning! Making its own versions of our weapons to use against us!" Shouted Pidge informing the others.
"We can't just sit here. We've got to move!" Shouted Lana as they tried to dodge the blast but was hit by it and fall to the ground.
"How do we beat it?" Asked Hunk sounding nervous.
'Yeah, if we try to shoot anything at it, it'll just absorb it.' Said Yellow feeling panicking as well.
"Maybe, if we form our sword, we can cut through the surface and hack right into the center thinking point place?" Said Lana suggesting an idea.
"Can't be any worse than what's happening now." Said Keith agreeing with Lana's idea.
"Let's do it. Form sword!" Said Shiro instructing the Paladins.
So Voltron began to summon the sword as the Paladins flew in close, dodging the heavy blasts. With one smooth motion, the cube was cut in half.
"It's working!" Said Pidge but somehow the cube was still be able to work.
"It's still operational! Re-engage!" Said Shiro instructing the others and the slice the cube into four small ones.
"We did it! They're going down!" Said Hunk cheering but somehow all four cubes began operating.
"Uh-oh!" Said Lana as she panicked as the cubes attack them.
"We've got to move! Move!" Shouted Shiro as they tried to avoid the cubes, but they keep getting blasted. "We can't fight them like this! We need to split up! Back into lions!"
So the Paladin's separated their Lions and tried to fight the four cubes with five Lions, but it was no use and they were struggling.
"Let's see if I can freeze these guys!" Said Lana as she blasted a cube with her ice ray.
At first it worked for a second, till the cube break the ice, then it absorbed it and blasted the ice right back at Blue, wrapping the head in it.
"Oh, no! So cold, so cold!" Said Lana shiver because of the cold till Keith blasted the ice with his fire rat quickly melting the ice. "Oh, oh. Thanks, Keith."
"You got it." Said Keith smiling at Lana.
'Oh god, thank you Red, I know my element is also ice, but it's too cold for me to handle.' Said Blue smiling at Red.
'No problem, Blue.' Said Red smiling at Blue.
"Shiro, what are we going to do?" Asked Hunk worrying about their situation.
"There doesn't seem to be any way to stop them, but we can't let this weapon get into Zarkon's hands!" Said Shiro telling the others.
Suddenly two of the cubes shot lasers at Green's side, causing them to go down and scream in pain.
"Pidge!" Shouted Shiro in horror.
'Green!' Shouted Black worrying for the Green Lion.
Pidge and the Green Lion fell as they were crashing through the trees before hitting the ground. Green groaned in as she's tangled in vines and collapsed trees.
"Pidge! Are you okay?" Shouted Hunk worrying for his teammate.
Inside the cockpit of the Green Lion, Pidge groan in pain as she held her head in her head, trying to still gain consciousness.
"Pidge, can you hear me?" Asked Ryner through the Green Lion.
"Yeah. Wait. How am I hearing you?" Asked Pidge in shock.
"That's not important right now. We need to get your lion back up and running. I think we can heal your lion's body, but you must bond with its spirit if it is to fly again." Said Ryner as she and the Olkari place their hands on each part of the Green Lion's body.
"But I thought we bonded already." Said Pidge in confusion.
"Your bond must be stronger." Said Ryner explaining further to Pidge.
"Come on, girl. I need you." Said Pidge focusing on their bond.
"Remember what I said. You, the lion, the Olkari We are all made of the same essence." Said Ryner as she and Olkari heal Green's body with the vibes as they glow green.
As Pidge concentrates on her bond with her Lion, she can hear her her teammates calling for help, so as she concentrates on her bond, Green somehow began to communicate with Pidge as their bond somehow connected.
Pidge open her eyes and she saw Green in her physical form as they found themselves in a galactic green void. Then slowly Green lean hear head towards Pidge, as she did the same, and their foreheads bump together.
After Green's body is fully healed, she got up and roar loudly. Then when Pidge opened her eyes, she can see not through the windows in the cockpit, but through her Lion's eyes.
Meanwhile with the other Paladins, they were not doing so well, as each of them had a cube to deal with, hiwever no matter how hard they fight them, they couldn't be able to defeat the cubes and we're almost losing.
"Guys, hang on!" Shouted Pidge calling out to her teammates.
"Pidge!" Shouted the Paladins happy to hear Pidge is okay.
'Green!' Shouted the Lion to see Green is okay.
"Whoa, Pidge! What's going on? You're booking!" Said Hunk in shock that Green is going faster.
"I'm not sure, but I feel more connected with my lion than ever! I know what we have to do!" Said Pidge as she flies towards the cube.
'That's right my Paladin, it's time you use this.' Said Green to her Paladin.
Then Pidge activated her Bayard as a giant cannon formed on Green's back and a green blast flew from it, striking one of the cubes. Suddenly massive vines sprouted from it, quickly covering the giant cube and wrapping their tendrils around it, destroying it and causing it to fall to the ground.
"Whoa! How'd you do that?" Asked Lana in shock.
"That's right! Circle up, everybody! Get some of this!" Said Pidge as she did the same with the other three each one fell to the ground, defeating all the cubes.
"Vines. . . Well, that is not the way I thought a giant cube of death would go down." Said Hunk smiling at their victory.
Meanwhile back at the city, the Olkari, that armed with weapons made both from metal and flora, were able to defeat the Galra and take back their city, while the Galra Commander got defeated and escape the city, as the Olkari cheered for their victory.
After the battle, Ryner greeted the Paladins and their Lions in the city square, while the Olkari are in the middle of a celebration, happy to finally be liberated and free from the Galra.
"I want to thank you all. You helped us get our home back. And, for that, we will never be able to repay you." Said Ryner thanking the Paladins.
"Just promise me that when it's time to take the fight to Zarkon, we can count on the Olkari for help." Said Shiro as he and Ryner shook hands.
"Now and forever." Said Ryner as she turn to Pidge and place her hand on her shoulder. "And you, The spirit of the Olkari resides in you. The bond between you and your lion has grown stronger than ever."
"Without you, I would never have been able to unlock my lion's hidden power." Said Pidge as she smile at her Lion.
After they say goodbye to the Olkari, the Paladins and the Lions have return to the Castle of Lion's, and leave the Planet Olkarion, as the Paladin's, the two Altean's, and the Lion's are all at the Main Bridge.
"Nice job, Pidge." Said Shiro as he and the others smile at Pidge.
"You know, it's weird. I've always been a tech junkie. That's how I connected with the world. But, for the first time, I feel connected to everything. I guess it's like Ryner said. We're all made up of the same cosmic dust." Said Pidge smiling at the others.
"So, that means we're all related. This ship, those stars, the Olkari. Even the Galra." Said Keith in shock.
"Uh-oh. I think Keith just blew his own mind." Said Hunk as the others laugh.
"What?" Asked Keith blushing a bit.
"You know, I think Keith makes a valid point." Said Lana smiling at Keith.
"What?" Asked the others in shock as they turn to Lana.
"Well, it's just like how Ryner says, we are related with the same cosmic dust, there are Galra out there that aren't loyal to Zarkon, and you know, we might be connected with some other aliens from other planets will visit." Said Lana looking at the others and held her amulet close to him. "My grandmother always told me that they're some people that aren't related by blood, but they're related by heart, no matter how different they are or where they're born in, so in a way, maybe we are connected with some Galra by the same cosmic dust in the universe, and despite the fact they are Galra, I would still consider them as allies, and possibly be friends with them."
Everyone was amazed at the words Lana have said and smile at her, even Allura smile a bit even though she isn't sure she could trust the Galra just yet. But Keith was the most shock at Lana's words that he blush a bit at her kind words and pure heart, and he ever wonder when he'll ever tell Lana how he feels.
"Well, that was a productive trip. Look at all these cubes they gave me!" Said Coran as he threw the cube up which separated into more cubes and flew in the air. "Coran, Coran, the gorgeous man!"
"Coran, Coran, the gorgeous man!" Said the cubes mimicking Coran's voice.
"Ah, sounds pretty good." Said Coran smiling proudly.
"Ah, sounds pretty good." Said the cubes mimicking Coran's voice.
The others were amazed at the cube, Hunk was also amazed that he blow a loud raspberry, and after a moment later, the cubes mimicked the noise obscenely, and the team began laughing, except for Shiro who seem a little disturbed.
'Okay, that is kinda funny.' Said Yellow laughing as well.
'Yeah.' Said Blue and Green in unison as they laugh as well.
'Oh boy.' Said Black and Red in unison as they rolled their eyes and suddenly the alarm began blaring.
"What's that?" Asked Coran and the cubes mimic his voice.
And just after a few seconds, Zarkon's Central Command Center ship exited out of hyperspace right on top of them, accompanied by the entire main fleet.
