A/N: Okay another flashback in this chapter but this one I totally made up!

Previously in Chapter 109: Housewarming of TMCC

"Need me to do anything?" Sean inquires.

"Yeah, can you grab my keys on the counter and put them in the door." Eddie requests "It's the one attached to the 'her' key chain."

"Got it." Sean accepts as he walks over and does it.

Chapter 11: His and Hers

Maria walks into the bullpen and slows her pace at the sight of Eddie at her desk practically tearing her purse apart in search of something "Eddie?" She questions in concern as she walks over "Everything okay?"

"NO!" Eddie barks in frustration "I lost my keys!" She states as she moves from searching her purse to frantically checking her pockets.

"Oh." Maria breathes out.

"UGH!" Eddie cries "They are NO WHERE!"

"Okay well, maybe…" Maria begins.

"I've checked everywhere!" Eddie tosses out.

"Okay Eddie I understand that but…"

"No you DON'T..." She sharply emphasizes "…understand!" She insists as her eyes begin to water and her voice starts to get louder "My key chain is on those keys! I CAN'T LOSE THAT KEY CHAIN!"

Wanting to avoid unwanted stares from coworkers, Maria quickly but gently reaches for Eddie "Okay come with me…" she soothingly begins as she starts to lead her away "…let's sit down together and we'll work through this just like a case okay?"

"Okay." Eddie mumbles as she lets Maria guide her.

Looking for a private place to go, Maria sees one of the interrogation rooms is free so she guides Eddie towards it.

"Okay here we go." Maria soothes as she opens the door and they enter "Now, when is the last time you had your keys?" Maria inquires as they move to sit down at the table across from one another.

"Yesterday at dinner." Eddie replies before looking up at Maria "I can't lose those keys. Jamie gave me that keychain!"

"Okay well I'm sure…"

"No! You don't understand!" Eddie repeats again "That keychain mean EVERYTHING to me!"

Maria takes a deep breath and realizes right now the only way to get Eddie to calm down is for her to just let it out so instead of pressing her about where her keys could be, she focuses on the connection the keys seem to have for Eddie "Okay…" Maria begins "…so tell me about the keychain. What makes it so special?"

A smile breaks out onto Eddie's face through her tears "He gave it to me not long after we got engaged…"

FLASHBACK 2018

Leaning against the outside of Jamie's apartment door, Eddie types away on her cell phone waiting.

"Hey sorry!" Jamie calls as he rounds the corner in the hall and sees his fiancée waiting for him. "I thought I'd make it here before you." He apologizes as he makes his way over carrying multiple take out and grocery bags in his hands.

Looking up, Eddie puts her phone away and smiles "No worries. I haven't been here long. Here let me help you." she offers as she reaches to take some of the bags but Jamie moves them out of her reach.

"No it's okay, I got them." He declines "But could you grab the keys from my front pocket." He instructs as he gestures with his head towards his jeans.

A smirk forms on Eddie's face. "You know it would be easier for you to just hand me a couple of bags."

"Yeah..." Jamie agrees with a grin as he steps closer to Eddie "…but where is the fun in that?"

Rolling her eyes a moment in amusement, Eddie closes the gap between them "Alright, which pocket?"

Hovering right over her now Jamie shrugs his shoulders "Doesn't matter, pick one."

Raising an eyebrow, Eddie looks at him inquisitively "Are you just trying to get me to cop a feel?" She challenges.

"Maybe. Maybe not." Jamie replies with a twinkle "Won't know until you... reach inside." he suggestively states.

Meeting his gaze, Eddie pulls herself flush up to her fiancé's body and slowly slips her hands into both of Jamie's front pants pockets. With his head leaning down over her, a small groan escapes Jamie's mouth into her ear at the feel of her so close causing butterflies to form in Eddie's stomach. She bits her lower lip in an attempt to control herself as she feels around inside his pockets. Truthfully, she planned on exploring a bit but when both of her hands come in contact with what feels like keys suddenly a look of curious surprise appears on Eddie's face. She steps back and pulls a set of keys out of each pocket. She looks at them a moment in confusion until she sees and reads the keychains attached to each set.

One set says 'His' and the other set says 'Hers'.

"Is this what I think this is?" She curiously inquires.

"Oh right, the spare set I had made for Erin." Jamie playfully dismisses "You know for emergencies. I keep meaning to give those to her."

Eddie lightly punches Jamie on the arm "Very funny."

"Ow." Jamie heartily laughs in response "Do you want me to drop your food?" He admonishes "If not you better use that HER key and open YOUR door cuz my arm is starting to go numb."

"Fine." Eddie relents as she turns and uses her new key to unlock and open the door to Jamie's… scratch that… their apartment.

"Thank you." Jamie states as he pushes past her the second the door is open and heads to the kitchen to drop the bags on the counter.

Closing the door, Eddie hangs Jamie's keys on the key hook hanging on the wall before reaching into her purse to pull out her own key ring. It was becoming more and more real everyday she thinks as she adds her new apartment key to her set that she and Jamie were together, engaged and building a life together. Sometimes it really is the little things she thinks smiling as she hangs her keys up on the hook next to Jamie's.

"Thank you." She states to Jamie in reference to the keys as she turns to walk towards the kitchen to help unpack the food.

"Well since we are about to NOT spend 24/7 together…" Jamie points out "…I thought it might be helpful if you could get inside all on your own."

"Yes helpful." She laughs "And your generosity is noted and much appreciated." She adds before looking towards Jamie and the grocery bags in remembrance "Hey did you get me the…"

Jamie pulls an item out of the grocery bag and holds it up displaying it to Eddie.

Eddie smiles "And the…"

Jamie puts the first item down then takes another item out of the bag and holds that up too.

Eddie's smile grows "I knew I loved you!"

Jamie huffs out a laugh as he move to put the items in the fridge but then Eddie sighs "I can't believe today was our last day riding together."

"I know." Jamie momentarily pouts in agreement "But we need to remember…" he reminds them "…we are upgrading the partners status to something even better."

"Yes, we are." Eddie agrees "But you know if worse came to worse I could always just go back to my own apartment..."

"Oh, absolutely not!" Jamie immediately protests "THAT!... is completely unacceptable!"

"Oh really?" Eddie laughs.

"Uh huh." Jamie confirms.

"And why is that?"

"Because I didn't agree to give up spending 8-12 hours a day in a car with you to NOT spend the rest of my day and night with you."

"Ah that's romantic." Eddie giggles.

"Hey, I'm serious Eddie." Jamie insists "This is a deal breaker. If you're gonna go back to your place at night I might as well just return the stripes and tell the CO I changed my mind, I want back on patrol and want 12 David back."

"Whoa. Okay!" Eddie laughs "Calm down, calm down." She cajoles. "I'll stay. Geez, dramatic much?"

Jamie grins at her.

"You know..." Eddie offers "If I DO go back to my place, you could always just come with me…"

"Just try and stop me." Jamie challenges.

"Would never dream of it." Eddie concedes "In fact, I have a little something for you too."

"Oh really?" Jamie questions intrigued.

"Uh huh." Eddie confirms "Why don't you look in my back left jean pocket."

Smiling wider, Jamie immediately drops what he is doing and moves towards Eddie walking straight flush up against her very much invading her personal space as he pins her between him and the counter. He then reaches around her body and slips not only his right hand into her back left jean pocket but his left hand into her back right jean pocket.

"Hey!" Eddie half heartedly protests with a laugh as Jamie completely envelopes her "I said the back left pocket!"

"Again…" Jamie huskily whispers in her ear "Where is the fun in that?" he questions as he squeezes both her ass cheeks before his right hand fingers feel something in Eddie's pocket. He pulls out a key and steps back. "And what do we have here?" He questions.

"Three guesses and the first two don't count." Eddie retorts.

"A key to your Porsche!" He exclaims in excitement.

Eddie rolls her eyes "Does that look like a Porsche key?"

"The key to your heart?"

"Oh good one Reagan." Eddie commends "But you've already got that key. Last chance…" she warns.

"Hmmmmm…" Jamie ponders in mock uncertainty.

"Wow…" Eddie sighs in mock annoyance "Maybe it's a good thing you skipped Detective and went straight to Sergeant."

"Alright fine." Jamie relents with a laugh "It's your apartment key. Great minds think alike."

"Yes, they do." Eddie agrees.

"Now about this key to your heart thing." Jamie begins as he reaches forward and pulls his fiancée into his arms.

"Yeah, what about it?" Eddie questions as her hands land on Jamie's chest.

"Just letting you know you're never getting that back." Jamie softly informs his fiancée as he moves to kiss her neck.

"That's fine…" Eddie sighs as she tilts her head giving him more access "…but only on one condition."

"Yeah…" Jamie murmurs between kisses "…what's that?"

"You're never getting yours back either." Eddie simply informs him.

Jamie pulls back and looks at his soon to be wife. He smiles "Deal."

….END OF FLASHBACK

"AND I LOST IT!" Eddie sobs out heartbroken as she starts to hiccup.

Maria offers Eddie a sympathetic but slightly awkward half smile "Here, let me get you some water…" she offers before standing and walking out the door.

….

Maria walks into Jamie's office with a bottle of water "Your wife is having a meltdown."

Jamie immediately raises his head and looks over "Why?" He cautiously questions.

Maria sighs "She lost her keys."

Jamie groans and hangs his head. Losing one's keys as a sane adult is frustrating enough but losing one's keys as a hormonal pregnant woman? Well, he could only imagine the disaster that is creating…

Jamie takes a deep calming breath "Okay. Location?" He inquires as he stands.

"I put her in the box." Maria replies "It was free and I figured the rest of the precinct didn't need the show. Here..." She adds as she holds the water out to Jamie "I told her I was getting her water."

"Thank you." Jamie sighs as he takes the bottle and moves to leave the office.

"Makes me appreciate more and more everyday that I adopted mine." Maria mutters to herself before moving back to her desk "…and that he was in his office…" she notes knowing the bullet she just dodged.

….

Jamie opens the door to the box and walks in to see his wife sitting at the table hiccuping from crying so much "Hey." He softly greets in concern.

Looking up, Eddie starts to bawl all over again the second she sees him "I LOST MY KEYS!"

Jamie tries not to outwardly cringe…
