(After Eddie leaves) For a moment, Jamie and Danny simply stare at the closed door in silence.

"Did she just channel Mom?" Danny finally speaks up "I think you married our Mother."

Chapter 33: Revelations

Eddie rounds the corner of the hall of the 5-4 and stops short at the sight in front of her.

She could have just sworn she saw Dana – Jamie's old flame walk into a room. Now curious if she is indeed right, Eddie moves to try to catch up to her but has to pause when her cell phone dings. She stops, takes it out and looks at it to see it's a text from Henry so she reads it and quickly types a reply then pockets her phone and heads to the door Dana went through. When she reaches it though, her eyes narrow as she reads the door sign 'Maintenance Room'. She looks around in confusion thinking maybe she is at the wrong door but no… this is the door Dana entered…

Shrugging, Eddie turns the knob and opens the door. Her eyes immediately go wide "OH GOD!" She cries in shock at the sight of Dana and per old partner Badillo making out in the maintenance room.

"JESUS JANKO!" Badillo cries as Dana immediately steps behind him for cover.

It takes a moment for any sense of comprehension to register for her but when it does, a wide smile crosses Eddie's face "Well now!" She quips as she looks directly at Badillo "I'll just let you two get back to it." She states before stepping backwards and closing the door.

With her mouth hanging open, a super giddy look appears on Eddie's face as she takes off down the hall on a mission.

Rounding a corner, Eddie sees Jamie just up ahead at the coffee machine – she makes a beeline for him. "You are NEVER going to believe what I just saw!"

Jamie lifts his head to look at his wife "What?"

Eddie looks around to make sure no one else can hear her before leaning towards her husband "Badillo and Dana making out in the maintenance room!"

"WHAT?!" Jamie loudly exclaims in shock.

"Shhhh!" Eddie chides "Keep your voice down."

Jamie picks up his coffee and beckons his head for Eddie to follow him.

They head to his office and once inside, he shuts the door for privacy. "You want to explain what you just said?"

"I just saw Dana and Badillo making out in the maintenance room." Eddie repeats.

"Here?" Jamie questions in complete confusion "At the 5-4?"

Eddie nods yes.

"Why?" Jamie wonders – the logical side of his brain wondering what either one of them is even doing there.

"Who cares!" Eddie dismissively tosses out before a big bright smile crosses her face "Isn't it great?"

Jamie looks at his wife confused.

"Don't you get it?" Eddie prompts "We are now free. Our indiscretions cancel each other out."

"What indiscretions?" Jamie questions.

"My tape!" Eddie chides through gritted teeth as she lightly backhands her husband on the chest.

"Oh. Right." Jamie remembers "Almost forgot about that."

Eddie rolls her eyes as Jamie thinks about everything.

"Really?" He states in absolute wonder a moment later "At work?"

"I know right?" Eddie agrees "That is just a no, no."

"Agreed." Jamie wholeheartedly concurs.

Then Eddie looks at Jamie "We really are a girl and a boy scout aren't we?"

"Because we've never done it at work?" Jamie clarifies.

"Yes." Eddie agrees "I mean I know we've joked about it but when it comes right down to it we'd never actually go through with it."

Jamie nods in complete agreement before a look of realization appears on his face "I could technically write him up for this."

"Oh that actually gives us the upper hand." Eddie realizes.

"No…" Jamie reminds his wife "…it makes us even, remember."

"You were the one that just brought up writing him up." Eddie points out.

"I said technically." Jamie clarifies "I'm not actually going to do it."

Suddenly there is a knock on the door.

Jamie and Eddie look over to see Badillo on the other side.

Eddie grins as Jamie waves him inside.

Taking a breath, Badillo opens the door. He stands in the entrance and looks between the couple before him "So… even?" he awkwardly questions.

"Even!" Eddie quips with dancing eyes.

Nodding, Badillo simply turns and walks away.

Jamie and Eddie silently watch him quickly walk out across the bullpen, his head hug low in embarrassment before disappearing from view into the hall.

"And that right there is the exact reason we will never do it at work." Jamie states.

"Yup." Eddie one hundred percent agrees. "That would be completely unprofessional."

"What would be completely unprofessional?" Danny inquires as he walks up to the door.

"Nothing." Jamie dismisses before looking at his brother and plastering a smile on his face "What's up?"

Danny eyes his brother "So now you're going to keep secrets from me?"

"There are no secrets." Eddie promises.

"You forget I grew up with him." Danny states as he looks at Eddie but points at Jamie "I can tell when he's hiding something – and you're already pregnant so it's not that…" He ponders "Is it twins? Oh god are you having twins?"

"NO!" Jamie rejects "It's nothing."

"It's not nothing." Danny pushes "It's definitely something."

"Okay fine." Eddie interjects "I just caught a fellow officer making out in the maintenance room with an associate."

Danny gets a look of surprise on his face "Wow that is unprofessional."

Jamie nods "That's what we said."

"And you're going to write him up for it aren't you?" Danny realizes.

Jamie glances at Eddie "Um, no… "

Danny looks at his brother slightly confused "No? You Mr. By The Book are just going to let this slide? Why? I mean… oh wait… I get it. You two must have done that too right? That's why you can't bring yourself to write 'em up. You!" Danny then quips impressed as he slaps a hand on his brother's shoulder "Not such a boy scout afterall huh?"

"What? NO!" Jamie immediately rejects.

"Absolutely not!" Eddie emphatically rejects at the same time.

Danny looks between his brother and sister in law, again studying them "Never?"

"You know…" Jamie interrupts "This conversation is getting real close to being an HR nightmare."

"Oh so you'd report me for wanting the truth…" Danny defends "…but let this fellow officer's actions slide? Nice."

"Danny can you just drop this please?" Jamie requests.

"Is that an order?" Danny sneeringly mock.

"Yes." Jamie states realizing that was the perfect solution to ending the conversation.

Danny roll his eyes "Talk about authority overreach."

Jamie shrugs "Still an order though." he smugly tosses back.

Danny narrows his eyes at his brother, points a finger at him and opens his mouth to speak but Eddie cuts him off

"Boys please." Eddie chides as she steps back into the conversation and before Danny can stop himself, he redirects his finger to now point at Eddie while looking at his brother "She seriously has to stop sounding like Mom."

Slightly taken aback hearing those words, Eddie's eyes grow a bit wide as she looks back and forth between the brothers before settling on Danny "What did you just say?" She slowly inquires.

"Uhhh nothing?" Danny back tracks.

"You think I sound like… your Mother?" She asks in shock as she again looks back and forth between the brothers before this time her eyes settle on Jamie where she silently gives him a look that demands he gives her an answer.

Cringing slightly, Jamie raises his hand and scrunches together his thumb and index finger indicating 'a little'

Eddie's eyes grow wider.

Danny and Jamie ready themselves not sure how Eddie will react but they are not expecting it when she simply reaches up and over and gives Danny and then Jamie each a quick sweet kiss on their cheek before turning and walking out of Jamie's office.

For a moment Danny and Jamie look at one another in a dead silence.

"Well heading back to work." Danny suddenly decides before simply turning to scurry out of his brother's office.

"Yup." Jamie quickly agrees before moving to sit down at his desk.

As Danny walks back to his desk, he gives his sister in law a nonchalant sideways glance to check her expression. He sees her happily smiling widely as she picks up a file.

He moves to sit at his desk and full on eyes her "Did I miss something?" He finally inquires.

"Hmmm?" Eddie simply inquires.

Danny leans forward on his desk "Most women I know would NOT be happy to be compared to their Mother in Law."

Eddie shrugs "Your Mother isn't just any Mother in Law."

Danny crinkles his face up "What do you mean?"

Eddie finally looks up at her brother in law "I never met your Mother but I know through stories and how you all talk about and remember her that she was highly regarded and well loved. You both comparing me to her is for me, one of the highest compliments you could ever give me."

"Oh." Danny breathes out before his eyes drift back to his brother's office to see him intently watching them. He gives Jamie a slight all good shrug.

At that moment Maria walks into the bullpen with a book in hand "Just curious." She announces as she walks to Eddie "When did I become your courier service?" She jokes as she holds the book out to her "Rosa thought you could use this."

"Since you see her everyday, twice a day?" Eddie counters as she takes the book "What is this? Oh. Baby names." she reveals answering her own question.

"You have one already?" Danny questions.

"Um… no." Eddie admits "Jamie and I haven't gotten very far in the name game yet and what little looking I've been doing, its just been online."

"Well I remember Linda and I had one of those and she had that thing basically color coded!"

"How?" Eddie curiously inquires.

"Oh don't ask me…" Danny dismisses "…it was her system."

"Oh." Eddie states as she quickly fans through the thick book blowing out a breath of air in the process.

"I don't think you need to read it from cover to cover." Danny reassures her.

"It's just a big decision you know? Naming a baby." Eddie explains as she puts the book down and off to the side so she can pick up her water bottle "It's something they will be stuck with for the rest of their lives." She finishes before taking a drink.

"Unless they legally change it." Danny nonchalantly points out.

Eddie lowers her water bottle and both she and Maria turn to look at Danny in disbelief.

"What?" he defends "It's true - I mean how hard was it to legally change your name from Janko to Reagan? You fill out a form, hand over some money and boom! Name changed! Don't put so much pressure on yourself."

"You know…" Jamie states as he walks up "I'm sitting in my office, I look out and what do I see? You two glaring at him." He adds as he points at his brother "Is this something I need to be concerned about?" he queries as his eyes catch sight of the name book on Eddie's desk.

He immediately reaches over, picks it up and fans it just like Eddie did.

"They even fan books the same way." Danny tosses out with a shake of his head.

"Rosa gave us that courtesy of our personal courier." Eddie explains as she gestures to Maria.

Jamie looks at Maria to see her lift her hand and offer him a little wave "Hi that's me. First two are free, third one I start charging. I'll send you my rates."

"Hey that's good!" Danny commends "That's funny! I like that!"

"Yeah uh huh." Jamie mutters "Get back to work." he adds before turning and heading back to his office taking the book with him.

Eddie opens her mouth and reaches a hand out to stop him but when she sees he's already got the book open reading it she stops, closes her mouth, drops her arm and sighs "I guess he'll look at it first."

Danny leans slightly towards his sister in law's desk "Well he is the Sergeant – you know, chain of command!" he jokes.

Eddie rolls her eyes and picks up another cold case file out of her box "Don't you two have people you can go bother out on the street?" She challenges before looking at Maria "And by you two I mean him."

Maria nods in understanding "Alright D. Reagan." She instructs as she stands "Let's go."

"D. Reagan?" Danny challenges as he also stands "That's new."

Maria shrugs as they walk to the door "I'm just trying it out."

"You gonna start calling them E. Reagan and J. Reagan?" Danny presses "Because there are actually two E. Reagans and two J. Reagans – just saying. HEY!" Danny then calls backward "You should name your kid something with a new first initial so there is no more doubling up."

"Oh my god." Maria chides as she pushes her partner towards the exit of the bullpen "Just go."

Eddie shakes her head as she flips a page in her file "This coming from the guy that named his son Jack when there was already a Jamie… and a Joe." She realizes in thought before looking down at her stomach and laughing "What do you think? You want to be another J just to rile up your uncle Danny?" She jokes "Pretty sure your Dad would be down with that." She adds with a chuckle before sighing and focusing her attention on the case in front of her "okay… let's see…"

A/N: Fun Fact: Up until Maria enters, this chapter was actually a 'deleted' scene I wrote for TMCC that was meant to be a part of the Armin's fraud case storyarc but I abandoned it because I got writer's block on it and realized I wanted to do the whole Badillo pulls Eddie over on her birthday chapter instead so I set it aside then pulled it up again way later - thought about it, retweaked it, added bits and voila, now it's a part of the sequel because it WILL become important when Eddie reaches that um 'stage' in her pregnancy... hee hee hee... :)
