Chapter 2 First Day as Director

Rui's POV

I walked out of my house; about to leave for Tokyo Arkland.

"Rui", I heard someone say.

Then I turned my head…and a look of surprise came to me.

Nene was running up to me…her hair now short.

"Morning Rui", she greeted as she reached me.

However, I was still too shocked to answer, and I just continued to stare instead.

"You okay, Rui", Nene asked in concern.

Then…she realized why I was staring, and touched her head nervously.

"Does it look weird", she asked.

Hearing this snapped me out of my thoughts, and I smiled.

"Not at all", I replied, before cupping Nene's cheek with my hand. "It suits you, Nene. You look beautiful."

After I said this, Nene's face turned bright red.

"Here", she said before shoving a box into my hands.

"What's this", I asked.

"A bento box", Nene replied. "I made it for your first day at Tokyo Arkland."

"You did", I asked, before smiling. "Well, thank you Nene."

Then, I chuckled as a thought came to me.

"You know", I started. "I kind of feel like a husband who's wife made them lunch for work."

After I said this, Nene's face turned even redder.

"I gotta get going", she said before turning around. "It's the first day of school after summer break and I don't want to be late."

With that, Nene began leaving.

"Nene", I said, which resulted in her stopping and turning around to look at me. "See you later."

After I said this, Nene smiled at me.

"See you later."

I had arrived at the CENTER THEATRE, and Asahi and I were on the stage.

"Everyone", he started. "Lets give a warm welcome to Kamishiro Rui. Since our old director left to work on his debut film, Rui will be taking over as our director."

"Hello everyone", I greeted, before giving a bow. "It is an honor to now be the director of the CENTER THEATRE. Let's work together to put on shows that will bring the world together."

"Speaking of which", Asahi stared. "Rui has already come up with an idea for his first show as our director, so I'll let him tell you more about that."

"Thank you, Asahi", I said, before looking at everybody else. "Ever since I accepted Asahi's offer to become the CENTER THEATRE's director, I have been working on what my first show here would be. With his permission, I have decided that my first show will be about Asahi's past."

"Asahi's past", one of the actors asked. "You mean…when he was a war refugee?"

"Yes", I replied. "I think his story is very inspirational, so I wanted to do a show about it."

"Are you okay with that, Asahi", one of the actors asked. "I mean, won't doing that show open up old wounds?"

"I did think about that", Asahi started. "However, if it can inspire others like Rui said, then I wanna do it."

The next morning, I received a call very early.

I looked at my phone…and smiled when I saw the caller ID.

"Hello, Tsukasa-Kun", I greeted as I answered the call.

"Rui", Tsukasa yelled loudly. "I'm so sorry to call you when it's so early there, but I need your help with something!"

"What's the matter", I asked.

"When would be a good time to meet you in Sekai", Tsukasa asked.

"Have you finished your first day of school", I asked.

"It just ended", Tsukasa replied.

"Then, why don't we meet up now", I asked.

"Is that okay", Tsukasa asked. "I mean, isn't it like six in the morning over there?"

"It's late enough", I stated. "Let's meet up in Sekai in about an hour."
