Chapter 8 It's Thanks to Them
Tsukasa's POV
Today was the day we would be performing our monologues in our acting class.
Currently, Sakurako was acting out her monologue. Thankfully, she was already well versed in acting In English, so that wasn't a problem for her.
She soon finished, and everybody cheered.
"Well done, Sakurano", our teacher praised. "Your English was really good."
"Thank you very much, Sir", Sakurano said, before walking off the stage.
"Alright then", our acting teacher started. "Up last is Tsukasa Tenma."
"Break a leg", Sakurano said.
"Thanks", I said.
Then, I walked onto the stage.
"Today", I started. "I will be acting out a monologue as Thorpe, which is a character from a show I did with my former troupe. However, this will be my first time acting out this scene in English."
"I wish you the best, Tsukasa", the teacher said. "You may begin."
With that, I took a deep breath.
Then…I began my monologue.
Once I was finished…everybody applauded me.
"Excellent job, Tsukasa", the teacher praised. "Even though your English still needs a lot of improvement, you still managed to convey the feelings of your character clearly through your monologue. Well done!"
"Thank you very much, Sir", I said.
Then, I walked off the stage and up to Sakurano.
"Good job", she said.
"I need to give a big thanks to Rui", I revealed. "Not only did he translate the monologue into English for me, he also help me practice it to ensure that I would be able to convey Thorpe's feelings clearly."
"Really", Sakurano asked in shock. "He still helped you even though he's busy with his new job
as the CENTER THEATRE's director?"
"Yes", I replied.
Then…I thought back to what Rui told me.
"Tsukasa-Kun, It doesn't matter how busy I get. I will always make time to help you when I can."
Thinking about this brought a smile to my face.
I wouldn't be where I am today without Wonderlands x Showtime. Thank you, Rui. Thank you everyone.
"Wow", Sakurano said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I think it's wonderful that you're still so close with each other even though you're not in the same troupe anymore."
"That is because we are not just simply former troupe members", I stated. "We are friends!"
Before Sakurano could say anything to my statement, our class' attention was caught by our teacher walking onto the stage.
"Alright everybody", he started. "Well done on your first acting assignment. You showed that you all have at least decent acting skills. However, most, if not all stories, do not just have one character. Therefore, besides having your own good acting skills, you need to be good at acting with others. And that brings us to your next assignment. You and a partner will have one week to prepare a dialogue to act out together."
After our teacher said this, he turned to face me and Sakurano.
"Tsukasa and Sakurano", he started. "You two will be paired up together."
